Hey everyone I had a diet Pepsi with dinner and now I can't sleep! I have been laying in bed awake for the last half hour and can't stand it anymore so I thought i would get up and take a chance that someone is up! I guess not. I was hoping Michelle would be home from work by now but she's not, maybe she will be here before I sign off. Well technically I could ask the question of the day but since that is probably cheating I guess I won't. I do want to tell everyone how much this group means to me though. I know I have only been here a couple of weeks but I just feel so close to all of you already! I think it is very important for us SAHM's to have groups like this to relate to because let's face it, people without kids and who work outside of the home full time just don't get it! I think the relationship we all have on here is special because although I know we all have friends that live where we live it's not always possible to get together or even talk on the phone when we want to. But the computer is always there just in case you get a split second to have some ME time and just knowing there are people there to write to in case of a bad day or an Off Plan day LOL makes you feel so much better. Well that is my rant for the night. I just wanted to thank all of you for being here for me and being great friends. You guys are great!! TTYL!

Good morning Ladies. Wow that last post was out of control. I read through it but didn't take notes. I've gotten that on the weekends I don't do much posting. That's when I do crocheting because I don't feel bad to sit around watching tv and crocheting but I do on the weekdays, I know doesn't make much sense. But Alisa isn't awake and I don't do breakfast until she is so I'm enjoying coffee and thought I'd drop in to say hi.

Spryng, I haven't seen those new WW desserts. Where are they in the store? Are they frozen?

Penny, you did have a busy time. Hope you got some rest.

Di, everything will be fine with your kids. You know the doc asked me at the last appt. if I wanted that test for down syndrome and this and that, I think they are rediculous. I said no way, because who cares, they are still my baby no matter if something is wrong or not and I love them anyways, so don't worry about it. In fact, I don't know your religion, but I saw a sign outside a church yesterday that said, "Don't worry about anything, instead Pray about Everything". I thought that was really really neat. Maybe that helps.

Jill, sorry you couldn't sleep. Caffiene has never effected me for some reason. Gladly, though. Hope you finally got some.

Kristin, enjoy your weekend and yes you can get back on track Monday. Have a great birthday. 22 WOW, I'm having a weird time believing I just turned 27. I don't mind aging a bit, it's just wierd to think I'm 27 when I feel 22. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Hello to Jaymi, Geri, Cindi, Mindee, and anyone else I missed.

Last night the kids, dh and I went to my mom's to check out the kitchen, got all the cabinets and countertops in and the red is soooooo pretty. Dh is an electrician so he's doing all the lighting for me today. Under the cabinet, wall sconces, chandelier and adding some plugs.
Dh's family is having us over for a late birthday dinner tonight. That means I don't have to cook dinner, YEAH!!! I'm staying home until then and waiting on a Fed Ex package for school then I can update my lesson plans, again.
I didn't sleep well last night. I had a headache all night and Andrew didn't sleep well. He is having a hard time adjusting to his new bed. Maybe I'll nap today.

I had a better night sleep. Bugga only woke up once and Dh let me sleep till 830. He would have let me sleep longer, but it was really the kids playing loundly that woke me up. Have a great day all. TTYL....BTW DH is feeling fine.

Oh yes, I forgot to answer my heritage/backround Q.....I am Italian 50% and the other 50% is GREEK, Austrian and German....mostly greek.

Crystal, I'm sorry, Andrew is having such a hard time. Maybe try a special new little toy or security item. Tell him it's a special new " " for sleeping in his new room. Or try a gold fish. I bought Abigail a gold fish so she wasn't alone. She loved it! That was a year and half ago and she still has him.

Mel, thanks for the suggestion, but Andrew already has a security blanket and he's sharing a room with both girls so he's not alone. He has NEVER, EVER slept all night since he was born. His asthma is only some of the problem, the rest is just him I think.
A goldfish, he'd probably try to eat it or play with it, LOL!!!

I hope it gets better soon. Abigail still doesnt sleep in her room, she sleeps in mine on a crib mattress.

Good morning all!!

I am having a rough morning... got sick about 3 am this morning... couldn't sleep well. Then it passed and I conked out until 7:30 when Tanner woke up... I got up with him and felt ok and then the nausea hit again. I felt horrible. It has passed now and the weird thing is... as soon as it passed I was instantly ravenous! So I made myself 1/2 ww bagel with ff cream cheese (my first bagel in almost a year!!) and it hit the spot, and had a cup of tea with mint to perk me up. I've decided I want to become a tea drinker, lol. Some people want coffee when they wake up and I want warm tea. Never liked coffee. So I'm feeling a little better but still not much energy. I have alot I want to get done today.
Ok.. my menu for today...
B-1/2 bagel with cream cheese
L- lean pocket with baked chips
D- Cube steaks with blue cheese, baked potatoes and yellow squash and green beans.
and if I have a pt or two leftover I will have one of the ww cakes.

QOTD- my favorite toy was a chatty kathy doll. It was given to me by a friend who saved it from a burning house, so it was singed, lol. But she was bigger than my other dolls and not a baby, more like a kid so I would play with her all day long, my parents have me on homevideo around 10 years old taking her to grandma's house and all that. I just loved that doll. When I was 12 we moved from california to oklahoma and we sold everything we had... and the doll was thrown away. Still breaks my heart. I loved that doll.

Mel, that was sweet of your dh to let you sleep longer today, you deserved it! How is your dh feeling?

Crystal, I'm like that on the weekends too, I'm not diligent about anything because it's a weekend! LOL.. I let the kids watch cartoons all day or play their games... but today I'm going to try and get some stuff done around here. I've really been lazy with my flylady stuff lately and I need to quit. I liked having a house I can be proud of and if anyone was to pop in I wouldn't be embarassed or anything, well today is not one of those days, lol. I need to clean. Not dirty just cluttered... which never takes long with kids toys and stuff they drag out. Which I know you understand completely, lol. And no those desserts are not frozen... at walmart they were a new item so they were on display right when you walk through the doors... but I would think they would be where you can find the little debbie snacks and twinkies and such, or maybe the diet aisle. The box says weight watchers on it, can't miss it. Do you have to pay for your homeschooling?? I forget how much it can cost.. I did American Home School to finish high school and it cost me over 600 dollars. (yes I paid for it) but I had a friend who homeschooled her kids and she never paid anything, she just got books at her library and made up her own worksheets and such... not that that was a great idea because they never learned much. But I guess it was enough for them. But I was just wondering if you went through a specific homeschool course or just did your own thing?

Jill, caffiene does the same thing to me! I can never have it with dinner. I hope you finally got some rest in. And I am so glad you are enjoying yourself here. I love this group too. It's changed alot through the past couple of years but it's gotten better too. New people and old friends... it's great!

Penny, did you get that program all installed? How do you like it?

Well, I guess I'll get off here and start in on this house. I think I will get started on next weeks zone with flylady so I can get a head start. Plus I need to get my morning routine done, including making my bed! LOL.. I haven't done that in a while. So TTYL!

Spryng, yes I buy all the curriculum. I'm using some Abeka, and some Bob Jones for the main courses and then like Social Studies and Bible I use supplemental things. You can find alot of things used on some websites or when I went to the book fair, they have a used section, which is where I got the math. I still had to buy the workbook.
There are like 6 different types of homeschooling and some folks don't use books or make up their own, which whatever works for them, but I must use a curriculum or I wouldn't know where to begin.
Anyways, I got a short nap in and now I'm fixing to have lunch, so I'll ttyl

Hey everyone. I slept horrible last night! I finally went to bed around 1 and was just falling asleep around 2:30 when the baby decided to wake up! I am so annoyed that she has started doing this now. She has always been such a good sleeper so I wonder what is going on with her. So I fed her and she went back to bed and woke up around 5:30 only this time she didn't go back to bed, she cried for 2 hours until I fed her again! DH and I were so tired and all she wanted to do was play. So after I fed her around 7 she went back to sleep and we all slept till 10 but I feel dead! DH is still asleep but she is up now and wanting to play so I had to get up. Sounds like I wasn't the only one who didnt sleep good though, so at least I have company :)

Spryng I joined flylady last night and I think I am going to go clean my sink after I finish this LOL her ideas are pretty cool. I can't wait to see if they work for me. In 2 weeks I have school from 9 in the morning to 5 at night for 6 days to earn 4 credits for school so I don't think I will be getting much cleaning done then but I hope to follow it as good as I can other days. That stinks about you getting sick, what do you think it was? I hope it doesnt hit you again. It was fun chatting last night!

Crystal have fun crocheting, I am the same way about weekdays. I think it is cause we feel that our family is our job and on a job outside the home we wouldn't sit around and do whatever we wanted so we dont feel we can do it at home. At least that is how I feel. Hope you have a lazy day doing whatever you want :)

Mel I'm glad you got to sleep in, that was so nice of your hubby to let you do that. What a great guy! I'm glad DH is feeling better.

Well there sure aren't a lot of posts today but I guess that is how the weekends go. I hope everyone has a great day!

QOTD: I don't know if I had a favorite toy, I think I really enjoyed stuffed animals and I had a lot of them. However thinking about it now I really liked my Cabbage Patch Kid so I guess that is my answer. I still like them!

Jill, sorry you had a rough night. When I'm tired I am CRANKY!!! ALthough, I was pretty good up till about 7pm last night, since I had less than 3 hours of sleep the night before. I Hope it gets better. DO you nurse? Maybe it's just a growth spurt. I hope that all it is.

Cindi. Good Afternoon. Hope you found baby boy...lol. They do like to wonder and get into mischief. I know my little guy now wonders to put things in the toilet. I have to get one of those toilet locks or something. YUK.

Oh gosh, I forgot to answer my own QOTD....hmmmmm. I would have to say the cradle my grandfather made for my dolls. It's all pink and he carved hearts on each side. I think it's made better than a real cradle. I still have it. Abigail puts her dolls in it now. Its very special to me.

QOTD: My doll cradle that my grandfather made for me as well. It is so special to me and more so since he passed 1.5 years ago. I miss him much but I know he visits us daily. Mel how funny I was going to say my cradle and then I got to your post and you had it as well. I still have my big doll cradle my grandpa made for me and a small one too, I have a picture of Teagan in the big cradle I'll look for it later and post it.

Not much today just catching up on sleep I've only got about 6 hours of sleep in the last 2 days. Also I've been wicked stressed over this girl I work with who is totally lazy and even more incompetent, I'm really trying to maintain my composure around her so I don't club her over the head with a bat lol....she's really that bad. 2 times this last week she didn't count her cash drawer and the till was off 5 dollars the first time and 1.5 the second ugghhh!! No one at work cares for her because she doesn't do anything and doesnt help anyone do anything, and she thinks we're better than everyone else!! Oh did I ever mention that she has a baby but she never had sex? She says that her hymen was intact.....YEAH RIGHT!! Seeing as most of us break our hymen before having sex anyway by riding a bike or any other numerous things...She didn't like my doctor because my doctor told her she was a liar!! LOL go figure!! Okay I'm done venting lol.

Mel I think you asked what size my girls wear, Taylor is a 3T almost a 4T the only problem we have in finding clothes for Tay is that she is wicked tall and wicked thin. Teagan is in 12mos we have truckloads of clothes for her lol I'm glad I saved them all from taylor.

Spryng I'm sorry you arent feeling well I hope it passes quickly. I love tea as well, I have a peach tea that I love and I love mothers milk tea I drank it when I was nursing and pregnant, it has raspberry leaves in it and is supposed to help the female reproductive organs. I can't say I noticed any of that but it tasted good lol. Chat tonight?

Jill I'm so sorry I didn't come on when I got home last night I was soooo tired and just laid down, well I couldnt sleep at first so I read some of my book (currently reading "Me talk pretty one day") and then fell asleep I think about 2:30am then Teagan was up off and on until 7 so I got very little sleep so hubby is letting me relax today! I just love him he's so good to me!

Well this year I've decided to do a homeschool pre-school session with Taylor 4 days a week for 2 hours a day. Shes really been learning a lot on the computer with her pooh reading and letter game. She can say the alphabet with a few mistakes and she can pick the capital letters out on flash cards and know what they are, but I really need to work with her on lowercase, I was told by a teacher, that if they learn all caps first its hard for them to grasp the concept of lowercase so I'm going to work on that with her.

Anyway I'm gonna catch a quick nap now I'll be back in a bit!

Michelle, that's great about homeschooling. How old is she? I think it's easier for them to learn one before the other. All the homeschool curriculum I've seen and use, teaches the big ones first and then the small ones. We call it the mama and the baby. I think they get it faster and easier than we think they do. Good luck with that. I'm gonna work with Ally on shapes, colors and such, which she knows well, but we're gonna turn it into "school" for her. She knows her alphabets but not in recognition and I'm not gonna focus on that until next year when she's 4 and we do REAL pre-school for her. This year it will be just to make her feel big.

QOTD: I don't know. I mean it depends on the age. I did the barbie thing, then the cabbage patch thing, the stuffed animal thing and such. So I don't think I had a favorite. When I was 8 years old, our house burned down to the ground and we lost EVERYTHING. So I got all NEW toys but nothing totally special that I can remember.

Hello again.

I'm so glad I got most of my housework done earlier because my little bit of energy is gone! I'm ready for a nap, I just took some more cold tablets so I hope that helps me rest a little and gets rid of this cough. I can't sleep in my room if I am coughing like crazy because Tanner is in here and I'll wake him up. So I'm trying to let this medicine work a little before I lay down. Why is it you always cough more when lying down anyway??
But I got my kitchen all done, laundry about done, living room and bathroom done. Then I went into the bathroom and my carpet was soaked. Looks like the toilet overflowed again... I'm beginning to worry about my plumbing. Dh thought he fixed it when he plunged it and the tub (that is what made it overflow the last time) but I was running the dishwasher and my washing machine so I'm not sure which device made it overflow again, or maybe it was the combination. Who knows... so now I have lots of soggy towels and a fan in there to dry it up before it ruins our boards underneath the carpet.

Michelle, that girl sounds nutso.. lol... how would she know if it was still there or not?? is she a gyno?? I doubt it. And if sex didn't rupture it childbirth sure will! LOL. I don't know if I'll be at chat tonight or not. Depends on how the rest of the day goes... I'm pretty sleepy right now but that could pass. I'm doing the same kind of homeschool thing with Ava right now. I have lots of preschool and kindergarten cd-roms she plays and she's really good at them, one is even a 1st grade one and she sails through it, I also bought her a work book at walmart for kindergarten so she can practice her writing and all that... she loves it! Let us know how Taylor likes it!

Geri, I hope your party is lots of fun! I'm sure it will be, old friends and great conversation. I'm so jealous!! ;) And save me a brownie!! LOL

mel, I'm glad you are feeling more rested! And thanks for asking about me, I'm feeling ok... just got this stinking cold, maybe it's the congestion that is making my stomach sour?? Not sure.

Cindi, lazy kids?? Never met any! LOL... I had to force Bubba into cleaning the living room today too.. no amount of bribing was working, lol. But it got done and everyone was happy. Ava is a good helper though... she likes to earn those stars!

Jill, flylady has a section on her website on how to keep doing her routines with a job or school schedule. Really 15 min a day isn't much to ask but I get behind as well. Today though I made my bed, got dressed and did my morning routine! I'm so proud of myself! LOL. This next weeks zone is the kitchen so I got a head start today on it.

Michelle, that woman sounds truly insane. I had to laugh at Spryngs comment about "how would she know?" It's true! And who the heck cares anyways? What's she trying to prove? It must suck to have to deal with her on a regular basis! You are a much stonger woman than I am by keeping your composure. LOL What a nut job!

Crystal, hope that cold that Spryng gave you passes quickly. Try and rest as much as possible. It sucks being sick when you are pregnant, there's hardly anything you can take to ease the pains!

Spryng, I take it you found some low cal bagels? I'm still searching for some better ones as mine are pretty high, like 5 points for a whole one. The whole wheat ones are a little better, but I get sick of whole wheat everything after a while. Know what I mean?

I'm saving up points to try out a new margarita recipe: Blackberry Margaritas. Yum Yum! I had bought a half a flat of blackberries at the farmer's market a month ago and froze them for smoothies and such. Since finding another use for them I will go buy some more next week.

ARG, the boys are fighting their nap! I swear they "know" when I need to get things done and try and thwart me!

QOTD: I remember a special doll from when I was pretty small, like 4-5 years old. I think she was called Baby Light Brite. She wore little PJ's and had short curly blonde hair and big blue eyes. When you squeezed her hand her eyes would light up. I loved her, but she kind of scared me too, with those big eyes! I should look on Ebay for her, I'd like to find her again. I know I'm weird!

Hi to everyone else, Mel, Jill, Lori, Geri, Leigh, Cindi, and anyone else I'm missing.

crystal- Taylor will be 3 at the end of this month. I just want to make sure she is ready to go to school when the time comes so she doesnt get put behind in school. She has been doing great learning with the computer learning games and it also teaches her hand eye coordination which is good as well. Do you know of any good Preschool text books or worksheets? Taylor knows her shapes already we've been working on them with the shape box and she can name them all when she puts them in. But we definately need to work on her colors she can say the names but she confuses them with eachother. Anyway I can't wait to get a start on it :)

Is Abeka expensive? How bout Bob Jones?

Actually she said that it was medically proven that she was still a virgin, thats when my doctor told her she was full of it! She thinks her ex drugged her and got her pregnant, well even so then she still wouldnt be a virgin and her hymen wouldn't be intact unless of course.....here comes the guttermind.....he's hung like a mouse lmao!! lmao I think her issue is that she is one of those people who has that "holier than thou" attitude and it grates on my nerves in a very bad way!! Ok I'm done talking about he hose beast!! (my secret name for her!) LOLOLOL!!

Oh wait I lied....I was talking to her about how I was losing weight and changing my eating and such and she was trying to tell me all this crap about how sbd isn't good because it's not balanced and ww wasn't good for, I can't remember the reason she gave but anyway that pissed me off to say the least so I looked at her (she's about 240 lbs) and said (as she was eating doritos and pizza hut) anyway so I said to her "Oh and it looks like you would know all about it seeing that you are stuffing your face with pizza and doritos" She shut up and hasn't preached to me about "diet" since.

Also she says that her labor was harder than anyones because she pushed for 2.5 hours and I said "ummmm.....okay.....have you ever had a csection?" of course with her she has the best and worst of everything. UGHHHHH I hate to say it but.....Do any of you have a shovel I can borrow? LOL JK

Michelle, I had a very similar situation once. The girl thought she was so great and fast at her work, but she made mistakes constantly. She hated me I could tell. And she had once told me something like she wanted to poison someones apple...she said she was kidding of course. BUT, one day she brought me an apple. I threw it in the garbage. I couldnt' bring myself to eat it even though it was my favorite. grrrr!!!

OK.. this cold medicine is for the birds!! I was sooo tired when I posted last and then the meds kicked in and I couldn't fall asleep to save my life! And I'm tired! Don't you just hate that? O-well... guess I'll try to get in bed early tonight.

Di, how long will your mom and grandma be at your house? I hope you have a great visit and the boys let you get your housework done, lol. The bagels I found weren't the ones Geri told me about.. they didn't have those, but they are whole wheat and are 4 pts for the whole thing.. so I ate half with 1 T of ff cream cheese for a total of 2.5 pts, it was good and carried me until lunch. Was it a baby light bright or rainbow bright? I had a rainbow bright doll once and she was cute! She's coming back now too! Just like care bears and strawberry shortcake!

Okay - another flyby for me today, but I "restart" WW tomorrow, so that will also be my new WI day - probably makes the most sense, huh? I'll catch up tomorrow. This week has been insanely busy and we've also had some internet connection issues! But I've been thinking of ya'll! TTYL.

Well I'm glad to see you all are up and around now. Before I left to go grocery shopping hardly anyone had checked in and I was thinking it was going to be a slow weekend again. I got some Smart Ones meals and planned out all my dinners and got all ingredients, I was so proud of myself! I also got the 100 snack packs and had a cookie one, it was pretty good.

Spryng, I'm sorry you can't sleep. I am totally exhausted right now but I will just stay up and try to get some things done anyway. I will just sleep good tonight, well that's if Bayley lets me. Dh is going to go riding with his buddy later, thank God, he has been driving me nuts all day! I love him but he tries to take over the house on the weekends and doesnt get my routine so it is frusterating, I love him though and glad he is home to spend time with the baby and me. Just gets on my nerves every once in awhile. I hope you are up for chat tonight, maybe we could do it earlier? Then you could go to bed.

Michelle I know someone exactly like that!!!!!!! Drives me up the wall, sounds like she is trying to liken herself to the virgin Mary or something! LOL! You need to just say Listen , you had sex, it happens, get over it, we don't care! Hi everyone.
Man, I leave for a couple of hours, and you all have gone through an entire thread. I forgot who asked about chat tonight, but I will check in there between 9 and 10 central time. The weather here is so nice right now for August. It's usually about 95 or 100. but its been in the low 80's all week, and supposed to be like that again next week. We took the boys to ride their bikes today, and they had fun. Bought the rest of Eric's school supplies too. At walmart today, they have a little candy shop thats called the kid connection. Anyway, they had all their candy half price, including their $4.98 a lb jelly bellys. Found out they are closing the candy shop and turning it into a subway sandwich shop. Subway at walmart? Anyway to make a long story short, we ended up with 7 lbs of jelly bellys. I checked the ww book, and its only 3 pts for 35 of them, so I am set for a while. Of course, I won't be eating many of them anyway. Dh loves them. Well, I am off of here for now. HI to everyone. Spryng I hope you get to feeling better. QOTD:I had a doll that looked like one of the ewoks from star wars. It was called a chubble, and when you squeezed it, its eyes lit up, and it made a funny noise.

Well I am currently baking the chicken for the recipe that Spryng posted a few days ago. I am excited to eat it, it sounds yummy. I am also cleaning my sink like the flylady told me to! It is soaking in bleach right now so we will see how it does. It's pretty grody, I have never been able to get it very clean so I will be anxious to see if it works or not. Seems like everyone is out having fun or being busy today. I hope to chat with some of you tonight. I guess I will just log onto the MSN site around 8 (my time) and see if anyone shows. Hello, My name is Heidi and Michelle invited me to this forum. Michelle and I just met as she was consoling me with my new Thyroid disease and fear of extreme weight gain!
A little about me: I am 30 years old, will be 31 in November :yikes:
I live in Albuquerque, NM...I've been here for 6 years, originally from Columbus, Ohio
I am married to Michael...since April 13, 2002 (By the way, what does DH stand for?)I am a SAHM to Samuel; born October 13, 2003
Used to work in hotels as a Director of Catering for the Hilton (not a good profession for a bonafide foodie!)

My weight story: I had always been quite fit, that is until an accident in October 2002 and I broke my ankle pretty bad. Over the next four months, while in a cast I sat on the sofa and ate, and ate, and ate. Gained 40 lbs! So I got out of the cast at the end of January, signed up at the gym with a personal trainer then found out I was pregnant 2 days later. The Doc said no exercising (since I was out of shape) for the first trimester. So I sat on the sofa and ate, then threw up, and so on and so forth. Week 13 I got the go ahead to exercise. Week 20, I started bleeding (had placenta previa and it was correcting itself) so I was put on pseudo bedrest for the duration of the pregnancy. Absolutely no exercising. Any guesses what I did? You got it...I ate. Gave birth and weighed 229 lbs. I had gained 90 lbs. in the course of a year. I was lucky that I lost 50 lbs. in a week...I was so swollen that I closely resembled the giant jet puffed marshmallow man...but then the post partum depression set in and I gained back 10. Once I got that under control (was put on Zoloft, but promptly went off as I hate pills and started walking)and have lost another 20. I was up to walking 12 - 16 miles a week and did circuit training at the gym 4 hours a week. Well, of course I got another setback and was diagnosed with Graves Disease a few weeks ago. I just had Radioactive Iodine Treatment and have been put on Beta Blockers to keep my heart from spinning out of control as my thyroid gland dies and ejects all of its hormone. Once again, no exercising until Doc. approval...but I am watching what I eat. I have been using Calorie King as my food diary, so I at least dont allow myself to go overboard as usual. So, right now I am just very scared of 1) not being to lose anymore weight and 2) gaining an obscene amout as I become hypothyroid.

whew...sorry about that. Anyhoo, I am just looking forward to making some new friends that understand the life of a SAHM and trying to find the time to take care of yourself as well as the rest of our beautiful families!
