hello ladies:

well, i had a relatively good weekend. no exercise though. but you know me ill get up first thing in the morning and getter-done. i am feeling so much better and hope to have an ok day tom considering all 3 kids will be home and we have the behavior management lady coming at 1pm. that usually gets my oldest son in an uproar. she usually comes when he is at pre-sch.

Heather-please ask your dogs vet about the poo poo thing. i feel so bad for her/him.

Marti-how old is Jhanai? I think that name is so pretty.

Cristi-I love lifetime TV. they have some really good movies on there.

Angie-Poor Tanner. I hope its not a hernia again. bless his little heart.

Jana-thanks for the idea with the grahams. by the way we are a jif family as well.

RK-noone in my family is allergic to peanuts. however, a girl i worked with at the eye doctors office was allergic (she was in her 30's when this happened) she picked up what she thought was a milky way and discovered it was a snickers. she ran to the bathroom and "fixed" herself and then got her eppi pen ready just in case. scary!!!

general comment-i love magic erasers. my two oldest thought it would be cool to frolic in the hallway with a brand new box of crayola crayons. not pretty. took it all off though thank goodness.

well, ill check in tom. hope everyone continues to do well. cant believe its August. where does the time go???

tj

tj, frolic in the hallway? I love the way you said that...lol Brandon loved to frolic with markers too...lol Infact I had just laid new lino in our first house,,,I went into the bathroom came out and he had made some PURDY colorful circles all over the floor...*gasp
KR my cousins little girl (same age as Tan) has peanut allergy,,,when they used to visit I would go throu the kitchen,,,put everything away, wiped down everything,,,cause love PB and eat it alot, I would make sure there was no possible residue anywhere.
Jana, will be trying out that choc wafer and cool whip sounds yummy.

So I go grocery shopping and you know what I forget? yup the wafers....*sigh will stop on my way home from work tomorrow. We have a holiday tomorrow but our office still works..and so does Monte.
Well Day After Tomorrow was great, the special affects were unbelievable. Tanner wants to see it again,,,will bring him with his buddies once they are home. Seems all his friends are gone for the next 2 weeks.
Well I should get going,,,need to wiped down the office,, a nice layer of dirt is everywhere,,,from when I left the window open.

Okay all this talk about pb is getting to me. That is one of my favorite things. I love Jif chunky and anything with nuts in it. Sounds like all the Jaded Ladies had a busy week-end. I didn't do much yesterday except housework. Today we went to visit 2 of my husband's sisters and then out for lunch. I managed to stay OP and felt better today than all week. Walked 2 miles this evening after 4 days of laying off, so that was fun too.
Starting the exercise program bright and early tomorrow. I am so out of shape I probably won't be able to go 10 minutes...LOL.

Hope you all have a bright and sunny Mon.

Hi girls--

I told Jhanai that I'm taking a few minutes to post and she said to hurry up!! Kids..... :)

Cristi--James doesn't drive to Portland everyday...it's strange how it works. One of the terminals is in Eugene (20 miles from home) they travel North to Portland and he leaves his truck in Eugene...He stays in Portland until the next trip back down south. I'm still trying to figure out how he knows when he's going South!! But he calls me and lets me know. Very confusing!! But he says that he may be back again either Tues. or Wed.

Angie--Sure hope Tanner doesn't have another hernia!! I've only heard of them never actually met anyone who had one, but I hear that it's terrible. So I will be thinking of him, keeping my fingers crossed that it's not another one!!

Jana--For some reason, it never dawned on me that you can freeze popcorn. That is definately something I'm glad you shared with me, that way I can freeze what my grandpa shares with me. The things I learn from you ladies....it's wonderful!!

Rk--I felt that shiver down my back when I read your post!! I can't believe it!! I think I would have had a heart attack....then I would have probably been banned from ever entering that place again after I said some words!! I'm taking it that your son didn't eat any.....I hope!!

TJ--Jhanai is 10. I love her name too. I too like the magic erasers. It cleaned up a lot of the mess my grandpa left while remodeling this house. It worked great!!

Sue--2 miles is great!! Especially considering that you haven't been feeling very well. Just take it easy when you start your new exercise program!!

Hello to the rest of the girls I may have missed!!

The BBQ was fun. There are so many girls in our family!!! And it was nice to hear that two of my cousins and my sister are all pregnant and are due within weeks and a month from each other!! They each had a girl the last baby they had and now they're all wanting boys!! (And we need more boys in the family! :D )

I also have to say that I ate WAY to much!! Always a thing with me when we have the family together. I made sure I told everyone that the pasta I made was NOT low fat at all....and everyone loved it. So that made me feel good. I was almost worried. (I don't usually bring a dish...I buy the chips or buns most of the time!!)

Ok, I better get myself off of here.

You all have a GREAT Monday!!

Take Care
Marti

da fat n da furious 08-02-2004 12:55 AM

Sue, 2 miles is good, I should of done that tonight,,,had the time but instead played solitair on the web...geesh Im a lazy bug
Marti, in our family we have more boys infact we have 3 girls out of 14 grandkids. The funny thing is, my Brandon is called big Bran cause we have another Brandon born, 7 yrs and 2 days after mine. And my Tanner is called big Tan cause there is another Tanner who is 11 months younger then him to the day. I would of thought that other names could of been used but I guess not.
I would of loved to have a girl,,,which would of been dangerous...can you imagine the shopping that would be happening? With my luck I would have had a tom boy for a girl...lol
Well Tanner is feeling better,,,he said it just felt really tight, and I doubt either of us would forget that New Years Eve day he had surgery.
I was always told to keep popcorn kernals in the freezer,,,along with my almonds and ground coffee.

I'm baaaaaaaack!!!

howdy ya'all!!!! I am back at work and ready to jibber jabber. If I can think of something to say. It is so hard to keep up with you funny gals when i have to miss two days. :(
Jana: yah!! for the added pound lost. They add up and I think you are doing so great. I am so sad that I missed chatting with you. I found out that i can get on the chat room at home with no problems, it must be blocked at work. I got on earlier today and chatted with a nice preson. so I am sad that i can't get online to chat at the predetermined times, I have to missed out. pooh, I miss all the good stuff because of my work hours. NO FAIR!!!! :D I have been freezing popcorn for a long time when I use the air popper. Which isn't often, but my mother always did it, so I did it. Don't know why, but she said it stayed better that way and popped better. I don't always do like she says, but I thought why not. I guess it seems to be normal. hee hee I hope that i can now me good with losing weight and be able to feel as good as everyone else here. I just get so frustrated with myself and disgusted and wonder what is wrong with me that I can't do it right. I whine and complain, but still haven't found that secret to get it taking care of. POsitive thinking, I hope will maybe work one of these days.
Angie: Hernias?? Yikes. My dad had to have surgery for that, I remember he was not loving life for quite some time. Everytime I have a problem I panic, because I don't want that to happen to me. I am glad everything seems to be ok. That kind of stuff can be rough. Smiles your way.
T.J. : I too get depressed a lot. Just ask Marti, I must drive her mad. I also do not like getting on a bringing everyone down and get told to come on here anyway. Not posting, but justing reading everyone elses brings me out of my funk and make me WANT to get on and share. I have a rough time bothering people with my problems, I am a bury my feelings and problems kind of gal. I hate to open up, I hate to bother people. However I have found that these ladies are very understanding, and just reading what they say can cheer you up and make you feel like you belong. I just understand what you are going though, it seems like I get depressed every week. You are not alone here though and I am glad you can back to post. ;)
Cristi: thank you so much for the card, you can never understand fully just how nice it makes me feel to get those. It makes my day to know someone has been thinking of me. I just wish I had mroe money to do that myself. I am cramped my my lack of funds, since I get so much enjoyment out of making things for people ( even though I think they are cheesy) and sending cards or giving cards. Just want you to know they always bring a smile to my face. I mean, who DOESN'T like o get mail, whether it be over the computer or through the post office. What a sweetie you are.
Susan: You are the goddess of weight loss lady. You and Jana need to go around the country and do seminars. Say, marti like my idea of getting the oregonian Jaded Ladies together for a meeting and greet type of thing. It would be nice to see some of the ladies I pour my life out to. I am jealous that you have a dog. I want one so bad I can taste it. And no , I don't eat dog, it is just an expression ladies!!!! :dizzy: I am such an animal person, if I had the money and land and owned my own home, I would probably have a menagerie. Of course that is just a dream cause if all those dreams were to come true, my sweetie would not allow it. Big meanie!!! so for now I love my babies ( my life) and feed my friendly squirrels who sit on my lap and feed out of my hand the peanuts I buy for them. I just love squirrels and chipmunks. That was the light of my life when I was a kid and went of vacations. I loved stopping at rest stops or camp grounds and feeding the wildlife. I am a wierdo, I admit. I even rescued a Crow about two months ago that i think was poisoned or hit in the head. The poor thing couldn't stop moving it's head, couldn't fly and his crow buddies were trying to help him ( so sweet) I didn't want him to be an easy target for cats or another predator, so I threw a towel over him, put him in a box and rushed him to the local animal rehabilitation center. I gave them a donation and left with the greatest feeling, they gave him a anti-inflammatory to reduce swelling right away. I oftern wonder if my little blacky made it or had to be put down. What ever happens I know I did a good thing. Ok, I am sure I am boring everyone with my animal adventures. I am just a HUGE animal activist ( much to marti's irritation I am sure) and am a member of PETA. God's creatures are just wonderful to me. anywho.............. :p
Marti: hey missy, share you weight loss secrets!!!! You looked great the last time I saw you . I am soooooo jealous. WE need to have a craft day, maybe sip some wine, do some crafts, I can talk my head off as usual. hee hee. That sounds like fun to me.
WEll, I gues i better shut the heck up for now, before you all cut me off.
To everyone I missed individually, hope you week goes well and the weekend was somewhat relaxing ( I saw my mommy for her birthday) and I shall chat tomorrow.

tjmarco 08-02-2004 07:10 AM

hey ladies:
back into my groove. got up at 530 my time and did my 4 mile walk video. i just love how motivating leslie sansone is.

squeak mouse: your a member of peta? well, have you seen the chicken beatings that are happening in moorefield, wv at the pilgrims pride plant that is affiliated with KFC? that happened only 1 1/2 hrs from my house and only 20 min from my parents house. my XH works there but not in that department. i got so upset and cried when i saw that. i think they need to take those guys and beat them to death like that. seriously, what goes around comes around right. think its great how you take care of the animal friends.

well, hope everyone has a great day.
tj

SqueakMouse 08-02-2004 07:23 AM

TJ: I have been boycotting since about dec or before KFC. It was in my PETA magazine a long time ago, before the TV publizing of it. It makes me sick and I cried. It is almost to the poinbt that my sweetie tells me to quit reading the darn thing. I have cried and dry heaved everytime I get my magazine. It makes me sick. If I had mroe time to get all the facts to know what i was doing without getting sick, I would become a vegatarian. I also boycott Iams and anyone that supports them ( like applebees) and Petco and a list of others. I am a big supporter of stopping circuses and live animals shows, etc. I am just amazed on how cruel people are. I mean if you have to eat animals for food, there are more humane ways to kill them. Plus let them live normally until then, roam in the fields, etc, instead of being put in small cages, in the dark cramped and covered in filth. Animals deserve as much dignity that humans do. I just don't understand it all and the waste too. Indians used to just kill what they needed for food and clothing, etc, all the waste that happens now is sad. Ok, I better stop and get off my soap box, I could go on and on with the injustices in this world. Sorry ya'all.

Good morning, Ladies!

RosieKate - I sure know how you feel with the allergy situation. Mary was allergic to peanut butter (and other stuff) but it was so hard at school, because so many foods had peanut butter or peanut oil in them! Thankfully, she outgrew that allergy.

TJ - glad you are feeling better! Good luck with the behavior management lady today. Like Angie, I thought the "frolic in the hallway" was a poetic way of stating your idea.

Sue - glad you are OP and feeling better.

Marti - yep, we freeze the unpopped kernels in quart-size freezer baggies, and bring them out one at a time to refill the jar. Your bbq with the fam sounds like so much fun! I need a boy grandchild! It's up to my son or Katie to come across with one, lol. Hopefully, for Katie it would be Years away!

Shanna - sorry you can't chat at work. We can chat while you are at home sometime... just let us know when to meet you there, ok? My dogs won't let the rabbits or squirrels come close to the house but I love watching them. When we lived in town, they would come right up to the fence, knowing the dogs couldn't reach them - it was funny! Btw, I boycott veal... makes me wanna cry to think of how the calves are treated.

Hi to the others.

I have a date with Mary today! Since she has been working, we don't get to visit as much as before. The other day when she called me, I teased her by saying "Who is this??? The voice sounds sort of familiar!" lol. So she's coming over later this morning for a chat and a hug.

I truly have to get some cleaning done today... if any of you stopped by unannounced, I'd be so embarrassed! Not that that would happen, but you get the idea.

BBL,

FrouFrou 08-02-2004 10:49 AM

Just a quick Hi and good morning ladies

I've got too much to do today but wanted to check in. Will try to be back later, if not see ya tomorrow.

RosieKate 08-02-2004 11:22 AM

A quick hi before the new thread gets started....

Weigh in day for me and I'm down 2 - wahoo! I'm getting within spitting distance of my halfway point. This week, My DS is in a fencing camp in the a.m.s, so I am looking forward to putting Leigh in the zoomer and getting some exercise. With the fort construction and the heat, I have been skipping my exercise.

The peanut incident sent a little shiver down my spine. My son's allergy is a fatal one - if he ingests he would go into anaphylactic shock and he has to have a epipen on the premises everywhere he goes. The allergist told me there is a 20% chance that he could outgrow it, but that means that to contemplate a bite of peanut butter, he would have to realize that there would be a 1 in 5 chance that he wouldn't react. Those are not great odds, so he is being raised with the knowledge that this is his sack of rocks to carry his whole life. Fortunately his level of sensitivity isn't as high as some, so he doesn't appear to be affected by sitting next to people eating PBJ at lunch...his issues seems to be solely about ingesting. I send him out into the world everyday and say a little prayer......

Have a greatday everyone, I'll be backlater to do individuals. Looks like I'm not the only one who is a "big loser" this week ;)

RK
