Good morning y'all
Well the tree fort is going to be pretty cool. We have a steep hillside in our back yard and FIL designed it to go in the back corner, coming out of the hillside so it will seem like it has two stories. Now it's time to dig for the foundation...hi ho hi ho it's off to work we go.

Also had a nice chat with my grandma yesterday, as it was her 82nd birthday. She's my dad's mom and i hadn't had a chance to talk to her since Dad's announcement about his remarriage. She's very sad - told my dad she felt like she never really knew him if he could want DXW back after all the hurt over the years. Ouch. That's actually a pretty reserved response from her - she's been know to peel off wallpaper with some of her tirades. Needless to say, she's a complicated character, but she and I have always had a bond as I am the oldest grandchild and I was named for her. Our conversation didn't involve alot of petty sniping, but we talked about how we have both, in our way, worked to find happiness in our lives. Dad's news isn't going to change any of that, we just feel real sad.

Hope all the JLs are having a great day - Chat last night was sure fun. I'm going to have to make an effort to get there on Thursdays. It was a nice safe place to confess my ice cream binge :o Jana - sorry I had a brain freeze about the whole Board thing - I looked back over that and I thought "She must think I am such a ditz!"

OH well -off to dig!

Good Morning,,,well yes there was a great sale,,,but I was back home within a 1/2 hr. Thing is we had a horrible storm, hail and the whole bit. There was tornado warnings a bit north of us. This is common now, seems to be in the last few years we have had a few twisters touch down,,,most times no damage but about 4 yrs ago we had a bad one touch down in a camp ground.
So I tried to wait out the storm but fell asleep around 10.
Next time...

RosieKate - oh dearie, I have brain farts all the time, so don't worry about it. How's the fort foundation coming along? That sounds like it's going to be so cool. Make it big enough for the JLs and we'll all meet there next year, lol.

Angie - waaaaaa! I want to go see the Mavericks too!! Give Milo a kiss for me. We;ve had awful weather here too, and lost some strips off our shed. The wind blew down a huge limb off one of the trees, but we were lucky that was all. (Tuesday)

I've accomplished absolutely nothing today except to catch up on some sleep and made some phone calls that needed returned.

Here's hoping the scale will be kind to me tomorrow... I've been good all week.

OMG I had soooo much fun! The MAvericks were fabulous,,,and I hope they come back real soon. This was an out door concert,,,which Im not fond of but for the Mavericks I would do anything...I admit i was thinking unpure thoughts....lol

I can't tell you the junk I ate,,,Elephant ears...I saw but didn't eat, a buttery corn on the cob, beef on a bun, then went back later for a corn dog...all I drank was water so I was good and bad.

I went a did a 3 card tarot reading,,,was told I am very nick picky, anxious and need to stop stressing...that the 3 major things in my life will settle down. I asked her what she ment by 3,,she said the medical problem, the work and the home life will stop being a trial by Oct. Then she just out and out asked if I was a virgo...lol


well my day of excitment is done and I need to rest my barking dogs...

Cristi and Susan - hope you both check in soon... I think you two took off to Cuba without telling the rest of us. :D

Angie - so glad you had fun at the concert! I was stuck here in Mayberry, lol, with nothing to do.

Speaking of tired feet - When Katie and I tried to check in early at the hotel last Tuesday, the young gal at the check-in desk said regretfully that the room wasn't ready yet. Then she asked had I visited their downtown? And I said not today, and that my dogs were barking (we had been in every store in the mall already). So this girl looks kind of leery and says "Ma'am, we don't allow dogs at this hotel!" :rofl: :lol3: When I explained what I meant by "dogs", she said she'd never heard that before, lol.

Well, I'm down 3/4 pound and have to keep in mind the 5 1/2 pounds I've already lost in July. Since it is equal to 3 sticks of butter, it's all good.

Going to make a WW version of Cherry Delight today for Sunday's dessert. I'll post the recipe if it's any good. Gotta go get some things done before I call my sister.

I woke up to a scratchy throat,,,it can't be from all the yelling and hollaring I did could it? Even the train down to the grounds was fun,,,we were all standing, quite crowded together anyways this woman steps in and shes not too tall infact she can't reach the straps,,she looked like she a good sense of humour so I told her we could lift her up and she could hang from it...lol maybe even get in a few chin ups..the people in around us started cracking,,she being the great sport she is said she could start training for the olympics in rings...she said when the train stops she would work on her dismount,,,just the way she said I actually saw spots I was laughing so hard...theres more,,,then Angelika, Becky and I got off at the wrong station,,,OMG I was freaking,,,I thought my van was stolen, and when we realized ...*shakes head I was so tired,,,I tried to convince this skinny lil guy to piggy back me... the look alone made me see spots again...lol
We are heading to Sylvan for the day,,,
Oh ya did I mention Brandon had his CT scan on Wed? That took all of 20 minutes,,,and the operator was you can see your Dr within a week,,,I wish,,,,shes on holidays for a month so August 20th is the earliest. He was feeling so much better yesterday, your body does bounce back from dehydration,,,he had me pretty scared there for a bit.

Hello gals....

Jana & Angie--"My dogs are barking" is something I just learned myself! James said something about it one day and I just looked at both of our dogs being lazy as usual and said "What?!" He started laughing of coarse and said...you can't possible not what that means....of coarse I didn't.....Now he tells me that I need to make sure that I use that new phrase that I have learned...in the future. :lol:

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. It's close to that time of year with all the fairs going on. Our town has this thing going on called "Bohemia Mining Days" to celebrate the old miners......of coarse it's nothing like it used to be. Shanna and her boyfriend came down to go to it...I had to call her later and see what she thought......not to entertaining.

But the big County Fair is next month...I don't know if I'll be going...depending if James is in town or not. I don't want to go by myself. And Jhanai has gone with her dad every year.....so I will leave that as their tradition. (plus it will save me money on buying her stuff! :D )

I better clean up...having another one of those mornings where I've got my belly popped out from underneath my tanktop, baggy sweats hanging off my butt, hair all wound up tight making me look like I got a face lift......no makeup so I look like a man......I ought to just prop up a chair in the front yard with a big ol sign that say ".25 cents to see the block slob!" :lol:

Angie - the "Fluffy" scenario is just too funny! :rofl: Wish I'd thought of it, lol. Glad Brandon's CT scan is over. Sounds like you've had a lot of fun this weekend.

Marti - gee, I'd pay more than 25 cents to see the block slob, lol. You could make a fortune, lol. JK... Our county fair starts next Monday. Last year was the first year ever that Neal and I went as a couple with no kids or mothers with us, and we had a blast.

Neal and I met DS and Gina at the club last night and had so much fun! I budgeted points for 3 beers and drank 2 1/2. But then when I got home, I dipped into my flex points for some leftover casserole - I was starving! But anyway, we played pool, darts, and shuffleboard and really had a good time.

Today is up for grabs. No set plans yet...
