Good morning all!
Feeling pretty good here this morning. I woke up really hungry though which is strange for me... I don't usually start feeling hungry until 10 am or so. But it's a good thing too. In my latest issue of Health magzine they have a article in there on a diet program called The Solution and one sentence stuck with me-- If you don't wake up hungry you probably ate too much. Well that doesn't apply to me most of the time because I can stick with my pts, or even be under my pts for the day and the next day not be hungry until 10 am. So go figure. But I thought it was an interesting observation. But anyway, today I will be cleaning like crazy. It's not that I have alot to do but I want to re-clean my kitchen, do ALL laundry, vacuum, bathroom, etc because I'll be gone tomorrow and most of friday and want this house to look really nice for my SIL. And I'm not sure if she is planning on sleeping in my bed but I'll be re-washing the sheets and all that tomorrow morning so they will be fresh and clean for her. Plus she is kinda a snoop so I have to go through my bedroom and make sure there isn't anything she can read or touch that she shouldn't. And I have to completely shut my computer down so she can't access my info or anything. She likes to talk to strange men online and it isn't going to be from my computer, lol. Too many perverts out there. But don't get me wrong, she is a nice girl and I trust her with my kids I just know she gets a little too curious sometimes, lol. But anyway, I also have to pack an overnight bag for myself this evening, Dh has requested an outfit or two ;) :o LOL! Penny, I've never heard of Suvravil, is it a diet pill?? And the butterfly effect was not scary at all. It was kinda exciting. Not a thriller though. The Butterfly Effect is the Chaos theory (that the tiny flutter of a butterflies wing can cause a typhoon on the other side of the globe) and he has a rare condition where he blacks things out and can't remember stuff when it is traumatizing and later in life discovers a way to go back and change things but not without dire results for someone. So matter how hard he tries to make things right something always goes wrong. I really liked it. I wouldn't let my kids see it though. At first it was fine but it had some violent parts and some not appropriate language or scenes for kids. Leigh congrats on hitting one of your mini goals!!! That is sooo great! And I know being a SAHM is work, lol, but what I meant was I don't have an outside job so when I'm online and anyone sees I'm online you won't be interrupting anything if you say hello! :) Crystal, sounds like you have another busy day ahead of you. How is your Dh handling this pregnancy? I was so spoiled during my first pregnancy, not so much the 2nd time around and not at all the last time. He say's otherwise, lol. But I know I wasn't. But he has always been great being supportive and definitely through labor and delivery. He delivered Tanner. (in the hospital of course) Melissa, I will send you my info after I'm done posting here. I think it is so sweet of you to offer those clothes. :) Michelle, I remember you telling me about that book before, thanks for the overview again! It does sound unique. Well it's taken me forever to write this post because DH called in the middle of it so let me get off here and start my housework. TTYL! |
Hey Ladies, sorry I've been MIA, but I have been trying to lurk. It's been really hard to keep up with all the posts lately, so a lot of times I've been reading but then I run out of time and don't get to post.
I've been OP, and on Monday I started to finally lose again, it looks like 2 pounds, but I'm not going to change my siggy till next weigh in, to make sure it's really off for good. :) Hope everyone had a lovely 4th. We just BBQ'd then the kids went to bed and we climed onto our roof and watched fireworks all around us. Kind of scary, but really great veiw, beautiful! Unfortunately I just got rid of a lot of my boys' clothes! Too bad, the swap is a fantastic idea. Not much else going on, getting ready for the big party for L&E, we leave next Tuesday for a week to go stay with family. Need to take care of all the lose ends, find a pet sitter, decide what to pack. It's going to be crazy. I hope I can stay on program while at my sister's house. I'll have to go shopping for sure as they live on Wonder bread and cereal! Arrg, it's going to be tough, but definately a good test. Tonight's dinner will be whole wheat spaghetti and meat sauce. I'm saving some points for Friday night, to try out a new pizza from Papa Murphy's. Their line of pizza's "delights" the pepperoni one is 4 points a slice. Very doable if planned accordingly. :) Well, a bid "hi" to all you lovely ladies, sorry I couldn't get more personal with you all. ;) But I'll try and stay in the loop for the next couple of days. hugs, Di |
Hello Everyone,
My name is Heather and this is my first post. I am a stay at home mother of 4 ages 10-5-4 and 2. I have done every diet in the world. I am so tired of being fat. Most recently I have read Most of the Dr. Phil book, did and went off Atkins, and have been doing the South Beach for a month off and on. I just pulled out my weight watchers stuff last night and started reading over it again. I am so frustrated and sick and tired - I have no idea what to eat, when to eat, blah blah blah. I really and truly don't know what to do - okay sorry to be so negative. Postives - last month I was 223lbs - I am now 214lbs. I am only 5 feet 1 inch. I would really be excited if I weighed 145lbs (still too high for my height but I would be tickled) - Right now though, I would love to be under 200 lbs asap. I have found that I really like playing tennis and it seems to be a great work out - I am always sweating to death! Anyway - I guess that covers most of me. |
Hola
Well, I'm still OP today :) We went to Walmart to pick up some stuff. Liam has been on hypoallergetic formula, but he doesn't seem allergic to his solid foods, so I'm doing a little experiment and seeing how he does with a soy based formula. This would save tons of money - they hypoallergenic stuff is majorly expensive! I also bought this family organizer I've been wanting. It's a planner, but helps you organize family/household stuff.
Speaking of swap items, does anyone have a need for a graco doorway jumper? A lot of babies love them, but Liam has never liked it for some reason. It's only been used 3-4 times when I kept trying to see if he'd like it . . . Penny - you're so busy! How do you do it?If I add one thing to my schedule I'm completely stressed. Thanks for the suvaril link - yeah, when I went to the web site it seemed like merely green tea extract with some vitamins. Spryng- I don't wake up hungry either. I can have coffee and go until 10 or 11 before feling hungry. But this has been true my whole life except when pregnant. If you go to suvaril.com you can find out more - they say it's meant to supplement a weight loss/healthy lifestyle program. Michelle - :lol3: you are sooooo funny! Anyway, I don't think one forray into popcorm and M&Ms (a combo I love, BTW) will get you too far off track. The important thing is it sounds like you're back on track. Di - I've missed you! Glad you're back. I'm "secretly" glad your weight is down, but I won't officially congratulate you until your WI  I'm having whole wheat pasta tonight too - with ground turkey. Heather - welcome to the group! I know you'll find this a warm and wonderful support network. I'm Leigh, SAHM to 8-month-old Liam and happily married for 2 years. You sound like you're at your frustration point. I began b y reading Dr. Phil, but thought it wasn't structured enough for me, so I started Weight Watchers and have been really happy with it. You'll find many differnt plans/programs represented here, so feel free to ask lots of questions before you decide which to do. I'm in the process of losing my post-pregnancy weight. Well, I'll check in later . . . |
Hi all. Just had lunch fixing to have a nap. I think I got out of my errands today. Didn't feel like it. Really wanted the nap instead.
Anyways, sounds like everyone is doing well. Leigh, I don't think I need that jumper thing. I had one with Alisa but hardly used it and don't really think I need one. But somebody here might. Spryng, you are going to be busy. I bet you are so excited about getting away this weekend. Welcome Heather, I'm Crystal, almost 27 yo sahm of 3; almost 4. Alisa 5, Ally 3, and Andrew 19 months. I'm due Feb. 1st. I live in Texas, I homeschool and am a rep with Avon and Watkins. I found this site, lost 15 lbs, and found out I was pregnant. I decided to stick around and hopefully make this the best and healthiest pregnancy yet. I'm so happy you found us. I can understand your problems, but I'll tell you from my own experience that it starts with great support. You will find that here and nothing less. With the support and advice and suggestions of these girls you can achieve your goal. You must stay around and check in at least daily, these threads fly by sometimes. I sure hope to hear more from you. Well chickies, I'm going to lay down now. I'll check in later. Oh btw, dinner will be bbq chicken strips and I don't know what else. TTYL |
Hi Ladies! I just got backf or a impromptu boating trip - Tons of Fun! My DH took off yesterday and today to just hang with us on the boat, how nice! HOpe you all are having a great day! I'm going to try and keep upi today, however, I have already missed like 2 whole threads while boating!
Michelle - I Loved "the lovely bones".... it was such a great book, I am reading her newesat book, "lucky"..based on her life experiences, it is just as good! :D Welcome HEather - this place is all the support you will need, I am fairly new here and was having withdrawls this weekend since I couldn't post from the river! haha! Spryng - Whoo-hoo girl :o :D HOpe you have fun on your little trip! I want to see the butterfly effect, it looks pretty good, just seems pointless to watch movies, since I get mad when my DH always falls asleep in the middle! lol ! Leigh - Congrats on the mini goal made! Crystal - How are you feelings, sounds like you are pretty busy! I know there are some of you that I missed, however, I could spend all day reading up and "catching up" with who said what! Sorry! Hope you all have a great day! Making the Jerk Steak and corn on the cob tonight! sounds so yummy! Thanks for the recipe! :) |
Hello again!
Boy I have been on a roll. Got my entire kitchen cleaned up and the floor swept and mopped. I've never mopped while my kids were up before so that was a challenge. The older two were consumed with mario on my gamecube but Tanner thought the kitchen floor was his personal slip n slide! LOL. He was soo funny. He'd slip on the floor on purpose and then slide himself all over it. He had a good time. But the good thing is the floor is done and the kitchen looks 100% better because of it. I also washed all my bathroom rugs and shower curtain and got those dried and put back in there, the living room is clean and vacuumed. So all I have left to do today is fold lots of laundry and clean up my room. I should be able to clean my room tomorrow morning because I won't need to leave until noon or so. Oh also my DH is waiting for his load today so he went to a mall to kill time and guess what?! He called to let me know he went shopping for me! They had a 75% off sale at JC Penny's and he got me two bras, two new shorts and two tank tops! LOL. I was very impressed. He even got the sizes right! :) His only request is that I give him a fashion show when I try them all on, lol. Men! But he never buys things without me being there so I was shocked and found it really sweet. Just wanted to share. Crystal, yes I am excited about getting away tomorrow night. But I'm more excited about our week long excursion at the end of the month. I hope we get to go to NY or somewhere fun! Leigh, you'll have to let us know how he does with the soy formula. Bubba was on soy and he did just fine. Welcome Heather!! I am Spryng (pronounced spring) mother of 3. Ava 4, Bubba 3, and Tanner jus turned 1 last month. Been married for 6 years now and I'm 24 yo. So which plan are you leaning towards? You will find a variety of diet plans here. Some are on weight watchers (like myself) some on south beach, some on their own calorie counting portion watching, and some on different ones. So you will fit right in no matter what you choose! Tennis does sound like good exercise! I look forward to getting to know you better, post as often as you can. Di, how long will you be gone? Dinner tonight for me will be broccoli chicken soup with rolls. I need to use the broccoli before it goes bad. well, I should get off here. TTYL! |
Thanks for the welcome girls.Everyone sounds busy.I also stay pretty busy.
I have to go to NC Saturday for church and Friday I take my second daughter to the eye doctor. And i'm going to try and get the house cleaned before Saturday because i'll also be gone all day. Everyone is doing well on their eating also.I've done good today so far.I've had a bowl of Life cereal for breakfast and I made myself a tuna wrap for Lunch.I'm baking bbq chicken legs for supper. With rice and mixed vegies.A couple of you talk about taking meds to help you I also take a pill called Power Plus and it a helps alot if I remember to take it and also taking a daily vitamin helps with the cravings and energy level.Anyhow if anyone is interested in the med I take I got it online at www.explosiveweightlose.com It works for me but talk to your doctor first.I should take my own advice on that.I have'nt been for a check up in years I know that's bad.I'll go one day. Well thanks once again for the welcome.I look forward to getting to know everyone better. If you have any questions feel free to ask.I'm not shy. pw 178 :( cw 170  gw 155 :D height 6ft sahm of 4 {plus the neighborhood kids}lol |
Leigh,
Sorry, did I say spring summer.....? I meant Summer/Fall. R they ok? |
OK ay ya'll I did it! i signed up for Weight watchers online! I am sooooo pumped! I want to run a mile (its raining though :?: ) lol! I am going to change my signature to post all my weight info, etc, and start NOW taking better care of myself. I am so glad that I found you all, this is exactly the support that I needed! :D
My DH called, and I was telling him about my new found enthusiasm, and he told me that we could go to the plaza (in KC) and go shopping for new clothes if I stayed on top of this and got to my goal weight within a year! !! I totally think that i can do it! I typed in what I ate today and I am over by one point for the day (I have 24 points per day) and I exchanged 3 points of exercise, so I am pretty much OP! I think? I need to read more, I was just so excited! Anyway, I want to go read for a while, and try to calm myself down! haha! Talk to you all later! :goodluck: Wish me luck on this weight lose adventure, I am certainly excited! |

I got your postcard thank you soooo much you always make me smile!! Keep an eye on your mail too ;) Kristin I'm sooo happy about your new found enthusiasm you'll do great!!! I almost joined WW meetings today but I dunno if I can really committ myself to a meeting everyweek it really depends on whats going on so maybe I'll join the online one too. I bought about 6 lean cuisines, 7 smartones and 5 healthy choice meals as I don't really like cooking in the summertime. They were all on sale for 1.50 a meal so I loaded up on them. And they fill me up as long as I have some water and some 0 point veggies with them :) I bought some nice looking peaches as well and I'm going to have one for dessert tonight yum!!! Geri how you doin girl?? How are those boys? I really want to go for a bike ride but it is getting ready to storm here and I don't want to get caught out in the pouring rain because its a bit chilly :( I suppose I'll do 45 minutes of weights. Leigh, popcorn and m&ms are a killer combo lol I told hubby nooooo moreeee!!! lol I don't know what came over me but I get a little then I start craving bad foods lol. Well I'm gonna get off here and finish making my movies, I got about 4 more tapes to transfer to the computer lol then I gotta put them all together. So I'll TTYL!!!! Michelle |
Arghhh :( I had a post and lost it when I tried to post!
Crystal - I hope you got a nice nap in. You're keeping busy! Spryng- DH is being soooo sweet! He's obviously very proud of you! Angel- I'm glad you're staying OP - you're doing great! Mel- you probably did say summer/fall but for some reason I remembered it as spring/summer?? I've lost my mind since Liam's birth, so I'm sure it was my mistake, not yours  Summer/fall is great. Kristin- I'm so happy you signed up for Weight Watchers! I'm on WW too so we can help each other along. There are several others on WW too. I'm glad your excited and motivated - that's excellent. Michelle- are you on WW now? Or have you always used elements of WW? I practically lived on M&Ms and popcorn in college, but I was also 20 and actually had a metabolism so I stayed about 130 lbs! Had dinner of turkey pasta and a slice of garlic bread, but then I had to use 2 flex points for another piece of bread  So many food addictions, so little time . . . |
Hey again
Just a quick note before supper.I've got 5 kids running in circles.Their suppost
to be cleaning up their clubhouses they made before time to eat. Anyhow what does OP mean.I'm not good at computer talk.Just wanted to know how you girls do the point system I think it's alot of trouble, but I've never tried it.How does it work I'm willing to try anything that will keep me healthy and lose more weight to.I just don't see how ya'll do it with such busy lives.Anyhow ttyl .Stay cool  in the heat. It's 95 here today. |
Angel - I just joined WW and it looks fairly simple, all it really takes is just figuring out how many points something is before you eat it. We plan our meals weekly which saves BIG TIME on time and will help me to stay with my points system!
BTW - OP means "on plan"... basically sticking to whatever weight lose plan we are using! I have been frequently NOT op  but I hope all that will change now that I actually have more structure! go to www.weightwatchers.com and check it out, its really not that difficult, you have 3 options to chose from too. the online plan, the meetings plan or the at home kit plan. Dinner here was great! It really tasted good and filled me up! Now off to work for 2 hours! I hope to really get some good exercise in tonight. . . . Take care ladies! |
Hey gals one last thing before i go to work, just got this from a friend on email, its too cute! Try it, it really works! :D
mmmm...chocolate... YOUR AGE BY CHOCOLATE MATH This is pretty neat. DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST! It takes less than a minute....... Work this out as you read. Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out! This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun. 1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have chocolate. (more than once but less than 10) 2. Multiply this number by 2 (Just to be bold) 3. Add 5. (for Sunday) 4. Multiply it by 50 I'll wait while you get the calculator................ 5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1754.... If you haven't, add 1753 . 6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born. You should have a three digit number. The first digit of this was your original number (i.e., how many times you want to have chocolate each week). The next two numbers are. YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!) THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2004) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS |
