Morning in Atlanta
Well, hello all. Liam still didn't sleep great last night, so I'm still kind of tired. I have no idea what's going on with him - he usually sleeps very well at night. Maybe more teeth truly are coming in or something :?:
I'm having my morning coffee, but not breakfast just yet. I want to hold off for a half hour or so because we're going for a walk a bit later than usual today and I want to have my breakfast colser to the walk :) We've decided to walk to the botanical gardens today for a change of pace . . . they're down the block about 1.5 miles away, so the walk there and back is 2 miles, but we'll also be walking around inside of course.:D Geri - 54 degrees??? That's awful! Crystal - hope the storms have passed and weren't too serious. Spryng - ssometime you'll have to share some photos of your crochet work. I bet the baby blanket is beautiful. Glad TOM won't impact your WI on Friday :) Michelle - glad you like the part-time work. I can't believe you fit that in along with all the walking and everything. It's so hard for me to find time to do anything. Maybe as Liam entertains himself more it will get easier. Well, I'm off to watch a segment on GMA about people who've lost weight and kept it off. I'll fill you in later. |
Okay, here's the GMA lowdown on a long-term study of people who've lost weight and kept it off for more than 2 years. Some of this you won't find surprising. The common factors for long-term maintainance in this group are:
1. Keeping a Low-calorie, Low-fat diet. 2. Large amounts of physical activity. Almost 1 hour every day - seemed to be a major key to long-term weight loss. The hour wasn't necessarily in one chunck, but sometimes broken up throughout the day (i.e., a half-hour in the morning, a half-hour in the evening). 3. Consistency. No days off or giving in even on weekends. 4. Regular WI - once a week - allows them to see small increases in weight and do something about it quickly. 5. Walking is the main form of exercise for the majority. 6. If you maintain for 2 years, your chances of relapsing are cut in 1/2. |
Good Morning Gals.
Wow, Leigh, that was interesting. Makes you think twice about how you do it huh? Not you, but all of us. You know what I mean. Sorry Liam didn't sleep well. Most of my kids never slept well, and obviously Andrew is the worst, by far. Of course, his asthma effects him. I'm hoping this next one is the best sleeper yet. Michelle, glad you liked your evening job. That's great you're doing it. I couldn't imagine having to leave in the evenings, besides dh would HATE it, that's our only time together. Spryng, I wish I took to crocheting like you did, I would love to make some afghans. Yes, if my kids are asleep when the storms hit, they usually sleep through them. Only if the electricity goes out would Alisa wake up, the others probably wouldn't. They've always slept good in storms. Terrell had about the least of any activity. We are about 30 miles east of Dallas and Dallas and Ft. Worth was hit hardest. More severe storms tonight and tomorrow night. We'll see though. I use to love storms until I had kids, now they scare me too. Well, I would love to have a nap, Andrew slept okay, but woke up at about 625 and Ally at 635. Andrew is getting 3 teeth in and woke up with fever and cranky. I gave him Tylenol and he's asleep. I have to go to town today and take our loan app. to the bank. In less than 2 weeks we should know if we can continue or not. It's pretty much a 50/50 chance. I've got Ally's b-day party this weekend so I'm slowly getting my house in order. The party is at 4pm on Saturday, so I'll probably do most cleaning Saturday morning, so it's fresh. Anyway, I'll check in later. |
Good Morning Ladies!!
Leigh - Well hubby and I both decided that maybe I should take a part time job so I can get out of the house and meet some people and socialize with people other than children! He's so understanding! He doesn't mind being home alone with the girls either he did great and everyone was in bed when I got home! Crystal - Me and hubby get lots of time together so like I said above he thinks its really important for me to get out and meet people. The girl I worked with last night was soo fun. She's 2 years younger than me but she has done a lot in her life I was just suprised!!! Well I peeked at the scale today and it looked good! But I will keep you all in suspense until sunday! Nothing big planned for us today just gonna hang out and maybe if its nice enough I'll let taylor run through the sprinkler. She really likes that! Well I better get going and get the day going. I will TTYL Michelle |
Good morning all!
Michelle, I'm so glad you enjoyed your first day of work! How long do you plan on working part time? My Dh used to work the front desk at a hotel when we met, and then right before we got married I cleaned rooms there. So I have a question for you, what do your kids usually do while you are working out? I'm thinking about maybe getting in some exercise during the day also but I don't want the kids in the way. Especially Tanner, I can see him attached to my leg, lol. Crystal, I am just a beginner with crocheting. I started an afghan for Dh a couple months ago but then I talked with an aunt of DH's (who is a great crocheter) and I found out I had been doing a stitch wrong. So she sat me down and showed me how to read the pattern better and all that because some of the terms were sooooo confusing. But I went and bought me a new beginners book at walmart. Actually it was a crochet kit, and the book is very easy to read with lots of pictures and all the patterns are simple but so elegant looking. The blanket I am working on is a cute pattern and has a baby hood built on it so you can completely wrap your baby in it from head to toe. It's so cute. My dd keeps asking me why I am making a baby blanket because there is no one to give it to, lol. I guess I'll hang on to it until there it! :) But after I finish this one I am eager to start a real afghan for my dh's truck. It's a neat pattern and works up really fast. You use a Q hook (which is the biggest one I can find! lol) and uses 4 balls of yarn at once. But I'm going to finish the one I am working on first. I'll post pictures when I get it done. But I must admit, crocheting has become addicting. I didn't do much in my house yesterday because of it, lol. But I put it away this morning and won't touch it again until after housework is done, lol. But it is so nice to have a hobby again. I hope you get approved for that loan!!! how exciting!! If you don't will you start looking for another house to buy? Leigh, that study was interesting. So I guess we fit mostly in that category (except for the one hour of exercise each day, lol) Have fun walking the botanical garden today! Sounds beautiful. What is everyone having for dinner? Since tonight is my tanning night I'm making a crock pot dish. Crock Italian Stew. So today I'm just cleaning the house, getting my grocery list printed and ready for friday, and crocheting! Oh and tanning tonight, lol. Guess I'll get off here and make my bed. TTYL! |
Spryng - When I work out Taylor will sometimes workout with me and Teagan will just crawl around and play with toys and sometimes hubby is home so I just go down to our rec. room and workout there by myself. Yesterday hubby was here, there was no way I could have done 6 miles with no one to help me with the kids.
Your crocheting sounds fun but I don't know if I could do it lol I'm not sure I'm coordinated enough lol. I think I'm just going to have a veggie platter for dinner along with lots of water. Ok I need to get a walk in just waiting for my kiddies to calm down lol. I'll ttyl!! Michelle |
Good morning ladies :coffee:
Spryng, my kids play with their toys while I work out. The 4 mi walk takes almost an hour so by the end Tony's trying to hang on me sometimes. I just walk away :D unless he's really cranky then I have to stop and pick him up. I haven't picked up my crochet needles for a couple of months since I finished that scarf. The rumage sale is in a couple of weeks so I had better start getting my crap together or it'll be here and I won't be ready! Crystal & Leigh..must be something in the air...Tony's been fussing at night the last week or so for his Nuk. Irritating 'cause he was sleeping so good for so long. I swear he's getting new teeth too because he's constantly chewing and did have some diaper rash last week, but I see no sign of any new ones coming in. He already has the first 8 so I think the eye teeth are next. My Mom insists that those are the worst ones. Crystal, how's the garden growing? I have pulled some green onions and yesterday a bunch of radishes. Yummmmm...nothing like fresh stuff! Michelle, I will be looking for part-time work come fall too. But I will look for daytime in an office. We need the money just for day to day living. Between the satelite tv, cell phone, air conditioning (it will get warmer, I swear) and dsl internet and food (geez, almost $14 for milk again yesterday :( ) we'll need extra income. I want to keep my severance pay for stuff for the house, not for day to day expenses. BTW, thanks for walking for me yesterday  . I did get 4 miles in this morning. We may actually hit 60 today woooo hooo so we'll get outside later today. Well, hi to everyone else. Hope you all have a great day. I was very bored yesterday...don't know what that was all about. My bf stopped over with her kids in the afternoon for a nice visit. They're the ones coming for a bbq on Friday night. They were up north at her parents cottage for the weekend and today she's back to work and the kids in school. OK, going to run. Bye-bye |
Hey Ladies! I am going to try very hard to be in a good mood today. I don't feel like I have been very supportive lately to you all. I guess lack of sleep, stress, and dear TOM have made me no fun to be around!
I am just gonna keep working on my house in between the crying spells of a very sick baby. I may lift some weights, but no vigorous exercise while TOM is in full force, I just don't have it in me. My eating has been okay, but there is still so much room for improvement. I go to buy fruits and veggies and they all look nasty, or are so outrageously priced I can't bring myself to do it. I think I am a bit picky and need to broaden my horizons a bit. Spryng,I wish I had a hobby I could do...I think my hobby for now should be exercising until it becomes a habit. LOL! Michelle, WTG on all the walking, I wish I could have your enthusiasm. I know it would give me more energy. Leigh, NO DAYS OFF??? Well, I take off one a week or so, unless I am PMSing, then it can get worse! LOL! Thanks for giving me something to think about! Hello and have a great day to the rest of you all, someone is at my door!! be back later! |
Hello again!
Cindi, I'm so sorry TOM has your down emotionally. Hopefully it passes soon. And by you just coming by and checking in on a daily basis is support enough for us. And I agree on broadening your horizons on new foods. I would recommend trying a new recipe at least once a week that includes foods you don't normally eat. I had to really open my mind to vegetables because I'm not a fruit eater so I knew I'd need more veggies to stay full on ww. But I was a canned green bean kind of girl so making steamed veggies now has really been different for me but I find that I like most of everything! And I wasn't a big fish eater (unless it was deep fried or fishsticks, lol) so having baked, broiled, etc fish each week has been nice. And Tanner loves it! But yes, try to include new fruits or veggies and such to your diet, we all need variety to stay OP. Geri, after my kids got their first 4 teeth (2 on bottom and 2 on top) I never had any more problems with teething with them. Tanner is getting 2 more on top now and never was fussy with those. So hopefully the eye teeth will be easy too. 14$ for milk!!! How many gallons did you get? I was thinking about taking Tanner off formula this month after he turns 1 (on the 24th) but I have enough formula to last a whole other month after that so I'm thinking I'll wait to put him on milk full time since prices are getting so high. He still doesn't take a sippy sup very well so I've been working with him on that. I can't believe he'll be 1 this month. :( Michelle, does a veggie platter fill you up? if I eat just veggies I am ravenous an hour later. Well got all my morning routine done today! including a load of laundry folded and put away. I'm proud of myself. Now I can go crochet and not feel guilty about not getting something done, lol. So, I'll chat with you all later! |
Hello Everyone!
I've been crazy busy getting things pulled out of closets for a "yard" sale this weekend. We just don't have anymore room in our closets to hide anything. Since I have like two of everything imaginable, I'll be getting rid of a lot of stuff. I gotta admit, it makes me really sad in a way, knowing how big the boys are getting. Oh well on to different stages and more stuff to buy for that as well. My dining room is the staging area and it's a complete disaster area. I hope everything sells because the idea of cramming any little bit of it back into my closet is not pleasant! Leigh, that's really interesting about the weight loss stuff and maintaining it. I don't think I could ever NOT have days off, that seems a little extreme to me, but maybe that why I struggle with weight? LOL I'm sorry Liam is having such a tough time sleeping lately. It can be so frustrating when you are trying to figure out what can be causing it, and you never really do. My two are constantly cutting teeth it seems, at least that's what I'm assuming it is. Cystal, hope you are having a great day so far, aside from all the errand running. Fingers crossed that everything comes through with the loan, I know how hard it can be waiting around for answers. Hopefully there isn't too much stress involved in preparing for Ally big B-day celebration. I always tend to take on too much work and regret it later when I don't really get to enjoy the party. Michelle, how ya doing? I think it's great that you are getting out in the evenings, bringing in a llittle extra cash. It's fun to converse with adults occasionally! LOL When it stops being fun, you could do something else, that's what so great about it, that how I feel about Yoga. I had a really good class last night and felt so good about myself all night afterwards. Spryng I can see how crocheting could become addicting, you keep it up! I can't wait to see some pictures, the baby thingy sounds soooo adorable! As for dinner, I'm not sure tonight, something with chicken and broccoli for sure, but the exact ingredients etc... I'll have to work out from my SBD cookbook. This phase 1 is getting difficult but still doable. Geri, I hope the weather warms up for you soon. I swear you'd simply melt away over here in Cali, it's going to be over 90 degrees. Arg too freakin hot for me and I was born and raised here! Cyndi, TOM can make even the sweetest gal Pi$$y, don't sweat it! I forgot to tell you how much I love your siggy, Mom to 6 boys and 1 mean girl! God that cracks me up every time I see it. LOL Is she really that mean?? I'm doing really great with SBD. Tomorrow will officially be my first week weigh in and I'll let you all know how much I've lost. I feel good, really good, not hungry or anything, I'm getting a little tired of eggs, but if that's the worst I have to deal with then it's worth it. I'll check in later today with everyone, -Di |
Cindi - Sorry to hear about tom! :( I hope you are starting to feel better. I hope Christian is feeling better. I will keep praying for him.
Spryng - Yes I can get full on a veggie platter used to not happen that way lol. I went all yesterday on the fuel from two oranges and that was it. I need to try and eat more when I'm busy so I don't go into starvation mode. Di - I can't wait until your first official weigh in! I'm so excited!! So glad you're doing wonderful on sbd!! Keep it up!! Michelle |
Hi girls. I was trying to post earlier and my bible study lady showed up so I'm just now getting to it.
Cindi, hope the ds gets better. Hope you're doing okay. Michelle, glad you're doing good. You have a great dh, cherish it. I'm not complaining about mine, just wanted to let you know. Spryng, I tried a crochet book and only got one string done. I couldn't figure out how to turn and make like a square. I get bored too fast anyways. If we don't get approved, we've got a few choices so I'm not sure which direction we'll take first. Di, thanks for the wishes. I use to put too much effort in the perfect party and everything and realized it wasn't worth it. Most people enjoy it if you enjoy it too. Everything always pans out just right anyway. Geri, thanks for asking about the garden. I haven't gotten anything from it yet, but it is looking sooooo good. Plants are doing great. We've got some of the best soil out here. You can throw out a seed and something will grow. Well, here's my day. I realized how much we as stay at home mom's really do. Andrew obviously hasn't felt good today. We went to town to the bank and we had to go inside to drop off this appl. So I dressed me and the kids somewhat nice so we don't look like some ol' homely country folks walking in there and as soon as we pull up in the drive to get out, Andrew throws up all over his seat, socks, shoes, clothes and it's the really really gross kind that really really stinks. I didn't take the baby bag because I was going to the bank and back home and that was it. I found a towel in the back of my car so I did somewhat of a cleaning job, but I didn't want to take him in the bank because he stinks and I didn't want him to throw up in there. So I waited for people to come out and I would ask if they worked there, then the next and finally the next lady did work there and she was going back in so I told her what happened and asked if she could drop those papers off to that man for me and she did. We came home in a stinky car. Andrew is asleep and I cleaned out my car and finished bible study and fixing to have lunch. I just thought I would share this with y'all. Because you see, I'll share it with dh later and he'll pity me for having a sick baby and cranky baby and such, but you don't get the effect when you're not there, you know what I mean. It's just not the same. Anyway, I'll talk later. Hope everyone is doing well. |
Ohhh crystal!!! I sympathize with you!! I can't even imagine having one of my children vomitting all over themselves I would just go nuts lol. I hope andrew is ok!
I just got 3 miles done and 10 minutes of stretching. I plan on doing another 2 miles when I get home later tonight! So that will be 5 miles today. Well I need to eat and get in the shower. TTYL!! Michelle |
Michelle are you telling me that neither of your girls have ever thrown up on themselves or in the car or on your furniture or nothing? You've got to be kidding. But I will say it's worse the more kids you have. You just wait, it's bound to happen. Not that I want it to, but you know what I mean. With kids, some things are just going to happen at some point or another.
|
Wow Crystal, I know exactly how you felt! It's like Murphy's Law, because you for once didn't bring your diaper bag, you needed it. There are sooo many days that are just chaotic and full of weird suprises being a mommy. In some ways it's really helped me let go of unrealistic expectations of me, the kids and the world surrounding us. In that aspect I am thankful. But then there are days that really push your limits, I guess it all makes us that much stronger, but at the time it seems a bit much. I'm getting all philisophical now, sorry. LOL
Michelle I'm so happy you are doing so well with your exercising. It is really inspirational to me to do more than twice a week work-outs. I was planning on taking Logan and Ethan to the gym today, for our new trial run play-date so the could get used to the daycare. Unfortunately, Ethan has been beside himself with crankiness, I can't figure out what's bothering him exactly and it's frustrating for both of us. Oh well, you know what the say about the "best laid plans" so the new plan is to have fun outside in their little kiddie pool while I get some gardening in. Oh yeah, any good suggestions for my chicken dinner tonight that would be ok for phase 1??? I'm still working on cutting back on caffeine, it's really a struggle for me lately, I'm ashamed to admit that I've already had two huge cups of coffee and two diet vanilla pepsi's and I haven't had lunch yet. Let me take a moment to tell you all how glad I am to find this support group! I love that we are all so diverse and all doing slightly different things to reach our health goals, yet we can all be so supportive of each other. So a really huge THANK YOU to you all, I'm having a blast so far getting to know you all. -Di |
Hello all!
Michelle, congrats on getting that 3 miles in!! What evenings are you working? Every evening? We'll miss you while you are gone!! I guess late night chatting is out huh? Crystal, if that crochet book wanted you to make a square it wasn't for true beginners, lol. That's where my SIL had problems. She bought a book that said easy patterns and such but they were patterns you had to atach to other patterns to make a blanket and it was very confusing and it made her want to quit. So that is why I bought my new book, it is more clear and has pictures showing you how it's suppose to look as you go along so you don't mess up, plus it's a solid blanket so there is no attaching of anything (well I will have to attach the hood to my afghan but that will be easy) But it really is relaxing. So sorry about your vomit incident! I'm suprised you didn't throw up too! :) Ava is very good about running to the toilet when she needs to throw up, but Bubba throws up everywhere and when I clean it up I gag and turn red, lol. But I always get through it. Just part of my job, ;) But I'm glad you got those papers turned in and I hope it works out the way you want it to! Di, I need to have a yard sale too. But I say, whatever you don't sell take down to a local thrift shop or the salvation army or something so you don't have to put it back in your closets. And people will still get good use out of it. I'm excited to hear about your WI too! And hang in there, phase one may seem to be getting difficult and you may be getting bored of the food but you only have one more week right? And then it gets more lenient. But I'm sure after you see your WI tomorrow it will encourage you to stick with it another week and then some! Well, dinner in the crockpot is smelling sooo good. I had leftover Mexican Torta for lunch today which hit the spot. I think I may go grab a nap now, TOM has me drained. TTYL! |
Pm
Good afternoon! Boy did we have an active morning :) We walked 2-3 miles, then stopped for lunch at this place in our neighborhood. I had blackened-grouper soft tacos - thet were amazing, but I ate half and took half home because Liam had a major meltdown and I was ready to leave at that point! I hope I calculated the points for that correctly.
Crystal - is Ally excited about the party? Hope you fit a nap in :D And best of luck with the loan :) Michelle - well, that's very healthy - getting out and all. I know I need breaks now and then too. DH and I are considering getting someone who can watch Liam for 3-4 hours once a week so I have time to go to the Dr., other errands, haircuts, etc. Spryng - I was also wondering if Michelle has good advice for what to do with the kiddies while doing a video workout. But it seems her little ones are more mature or better behaved than Liam  I may try having Liam watch a Baby Einstein DVD on my computer while I work out. My other option would be waking up super-early before DH and DS. As for addictive hobbies - crocheting sounds like scrapbooking in that respect! Geri - maybe we can send all the fussy-night-boys into the same room at night while we all get some sleep! :D Di - oh, I'd love to have a yard sale. I know what you mean about getting rid of baby clothes, though. That makes me kind of sad too. I kind of assume Liam's fussiness is more teeth coming in too . . . and, I agree - having no time "off" program seems a little stringent. Glad you're feeling good about the WI. It's really nice getting to know you as well :) Well, it's twice baked chicken for dinner tonight. I'll check in later. |
Hey girls just wanted to say hi before i head out!
Crystal - I have yet to experience a vomit all over themselves incident. Hubby however has had a few lol Taylor vomitting grape juice all over our carpet Teagan has thrown up once but not too bad and it was more like spit up since babies don't eat any food to speak of ;). Leigh - I just let the kids play when I work out I just stick Teagan in the exersaucer some times with some cheerios and a sippy cup and Taylor just tries to do what I do lol. Di - My favorite chicken so far: is a chicken breast stuffed with zucchini first I sprayed the zucchini with I can't believe its not butter spray and then sauteed it just a little bit, then I cut a pocket in the chicken and stuff the zucchini in there and then on top of the chicked I put 2 tbsp lite zesty italian dressing, I love it!!! sooo yummy!! Geri - Soo glad you did your walk yourself today ;) I don't think I coulda done 3 miles for each of us, my feet were killing me from wearing shoes with heals lol. Spryng - No way will I be working every night maybe just 3 or 4 and only a few hours! My full time job is a sahm the other is just my socialization with the outside world lol. Well I better get going!! You have a good dinner guys!! I'll TTYL! Michelle |
My dinner was grilled salmon and lettuce. I am full, so it worked.
Di...YES!! Hope is one mean chick when she wants to be. I know now why God gave me only one daughter. Those hormones start acting up WAYYY before puberty!!!! LOL!! And to top it all off, she doesn't even like to wear dresses!!! What fun is that?? BTW, we are SOOO glad you joined our little group here! Leigh...glad you had an active day. I have done some housework, but that's as active as I have been. It's cool when you talk about places near home, I have seen some and been to some, too. I bet living so close in is pretty neat. I have always lived in the metro Atlanta area, but not in any big city since I was old enough to remember. OH the kids that have puked on me and in my car!!! LOL!! It doesn't even affect me anymore, I can clean it up and have lunch when I am done!!! My dh is amazed! Oh well, maybe that was toooo much info, sorry!! Mommyhood is sometimes not for weak stomachs!!! Anyone chatting tonight? I'd like to, but we'll have to see when that time is closer. Going to clean kitchen and do another load of Mount Washmore! Back later!! |
Well, Michelle, I'm envious that your children will work with you  Anyway, I've already decided I'll be waking up at 6:30am each day so I can do things before Liam wakes up - my toning tapes being first on that list.
Twice Baked Chicken was a hit with DH, but not so much with me. I only ended up eating a tiny amount of it, so I had a bowl of my high-fiber cereal instead. I'm kind of picky about Chicken - I can eat it as long as it's "disguised" in some way - like very spicy, in a great sauce, etc. I prefer turkey and seafood any day. I'm now reading the latest Time magazine feature issue on obesity in America. Some interesting stuff. I'll have to fill ya'll in if there's anything new I learn. One thing - they list "Change One" a reader's digest diet/book as being very similar to WW, so I looked the book up on Amazon. You may want to take a look at it if you're curious. There's also a web site changeone.com |
Cindi - sorry - you snuck in :D It is neat that we're in the same state. Maybe one day we can meet for a light lunch
  Mount Washmore!!! That's great. Exactly how I feel each day! |
Di - a question for you about your twins. I have a good friend who is pregnant with baby #2, but baby #1 is only 18 months old, so she still won't be walking well enough to not be in the grocery cart along with baby #2. She'd like to know what to do with the older child while in the grocery store - should she sit her in the main basket with the baby up front? What do you do in this situation? Thanks for your help :)
|
Michelle - I hope you are enjoying your new job. Mine is getting a bit old, but now I am addicted to the extra money. You know how that goes.
Geri - The plan was for me to stay home for a year. 3 months til a year. 2 days a week is all right, but when I think of how much I can make working full time, it makes me want to go back and then I am almost in tears everyday I leave JW and I don't want to work at all. You know how it goes the love/hate thing. Spryng - Can't they have milk at 1. Formula is expensive too. I have weaned to 2 nursing a day. I don't think he is interested anymore, so I think I will try to go to one. Di - I am with Spryng, give it to GoodWill. We had a MOMs Club garage sale and I got rid of a lot of sutff, but sad to say only about 30% of the stuff we need to get out. That is so cool that you are a Yoga teacher. I have tried it a couple of times. The classes at my gym are morning and late evening. I love going in the morning, but JW is not always up and ready to go. Crystal - So sorry for your day! JW throw up on my legs and shoe at Ruby Tuesday the other night. Dh thought it was pretty gross. I was just worried if he was all right. I weigh in today and am up 1.4 pounds. Not bad considering I have been off program for 5 days, awful being that I am only down .4 for the month. I have to beat this. I looked at my birthday pictures and feel so fat. I definitely have a good before picture. The funny thing is that the pictures from dinner with dh looked great. I am just thinking the outfit for the party was bad. The one for dinner was fitted and showed curves, much better. The party dress just kind of hung off of me and it had ruffles and I didn't like it when I bought it, but my bf who is overweight as well, said it looked great. She must have been lying. Sorry for all of that. No one needed that. I am a new person tomorrow, on plan and workouts galore. MOMS is going to the beach. I hope I can take JW this time. His breathing has gotten better. |
Leigh- I put taylor in the big basket with baby up front but thats when its just me and I only have a few things to get but when its me and hubby we take a cart for each child. :D
ugghhhh I am not feeling well at all!! My tummy is so upset and I feel like I'm going to be sick. YUCK!!! I have no idea what is wrong with me :( Maybe its just one of those days. It kinda feels how I felt when I was preg with Teag, ruh roh lol I doubt that though. Well I hope everyone is having a nice night!! Oh cindi - I'll try to make it to chat tonight but I don't know for sure cuz I'm feeling so crappy :(. Michelle |
Melinda - Soo great to hear from you!! I know what you mean on the extra money lol I think it will be nice :) I like getting out too. Its only 3 days a week for 4 hours each day so no big deal and when I leave the kids are with hubby so I don't have to worry about daycare.
Good to hear from you :) Michelle |
OK, Meltin, what's your first name??? LOL I can't go around calling you Meltin all the time! Don't stress about being up, you know it could be worse than 1.4, so just get it out of your head and move on from there. Just before I started SBD, I went to Dallas to hang out with some girlfriends for the weekend and I swear I gained 5 pounds in 3 days!! I'm one of those massive water retention people. But that part comes off fairly easily, it's the stuff around my tummy that's tough.
Leight in regards to shopping, early on when they were little and still in their infant car seats I would just snap them into my double stroller and use the basket underneath. Most of the BIG shopping was done either by my husband or myself on the weekend, during the week I'd only pick up small things. Now that they are bigger I use those shopping cart cars. you know the ones that look like a little car? It's tough because you really shouldn't leave one in the basket part of the cart and there isn't usually room for two in the front compartment. Michelle, hope you feel better soon. Your chicken dish sounded good, but I didn't have any zuccini handy so I'm trying out the Chicken Capri, I'll let you know how it turns out. chat with you all soon, Di |
Good Morning
:coffee:
Just one cup of Watkins Chai Latte, it's soooooo good. Sorry I didn't post last night, I thought I posted yesterday afternoon, but found I hadn't. We started getting more storms last night and I always just shut my computer down. Besides Andrew was more than cranky all day. He ran fever off and on all day, only threw up the once though. Leigh, I have to comment on your friend. Ally and Andrew are 1 week shy of being 18 months apart and it's not that big of deal. First of all, I don't get my newborn babies out at the grocery store for a while, I would start by takin one kid at a time and dh would watch the others. Now I do alot of grocery shopping in the day and I don't have a choice. Ally walks along with me and she holds on to the buggy. Now I do have to watch her, because she is slow and she'll stop to look at something and not care I've already walked almost to the end of the aisle. But for the most part, she HATES to be in the buggy so she likes to walk along with me and that's usually what we do. It's really not a big deal. And about you having to get up earlier than Liam, that's why I usually get up before 6, because my mornings are mine and I so cherish them. The kids no I hate if they get up before 7 am, not they don't sometimes though. And yes Ally is so excited about the party but so is Alisa. I don't know who's more so. Cindi, glad you're doing okay. You know I had a load of clothes out in the dryer when the storm hit and totally forgot about them. They're the ones that will totally wrinkle. I'm thinking about just rewashing the load, LOL. I hate ironing. Will be glad to hear from you today. Michelle, hope your job went as good again. Now is this gonna be every night or how many nights a week? Spryng, where are you? Well, I still haven't done any cleaning for the party Saturday, because if I do, I'll have to turn around and do it again Saturday. If I mop, it's so muddy outside, that's pointless. I could dust and get my desk area cleaned up and just save the bathroom and the kitchen floor for Saturday morning. That would be enough I think. Well, I don't have any plans today. I'm anxious to see how Andrew is going to be today. He woke up last night with more fever so it may be another day like yesterday. I actually sat more than ever on a weekday yesterday, that's all he wanted, but I was so tired I didn't argue. I never heard from my doc about my blood, should I call them or is that something to leave for them to do? He told me he would call and maybe give me an estimate about how far along I am and with so many people going to be here Saturday and asking I'd like to have something significant to tell them. So should I call or just wait and see if they call me? I don't like to be annoying or anything. Well, I'll go now. I do think I'll TRY to count calories today. I didn't get to walk yesterday because the storm hit, maybe tonight. |
Sunrise
Good morning :) Today was day 1 of waking up before Liam so I can get a head start on the day or workout to a video, etc. My videos haven't arrived yet, so I just straightened up, ate breakfast, and am now posting. Thankfully, Liam's sleep was back to normal last night :D And I had a 4-point breakfast . . . eggbeaters, toast, cereal, coffee.
Hey, Melinda! Now, don't be overly down on yourself. The important thing is how you respond to your disappointment, and that starts today :) So, just go from here and don't look back or dwell on feeling bad. It sounds like you're very motivated, which is great. Michelle - hope your not coming down with a virus :( I hope you feel better as the day unfolds. Thanks for the info on shopping with two. Diane, thanks for the answer on the shopping cart. I emailed her to let her know :) Crystal - good morning! Thanks for the answer about the shopping cart. I'd call the doctor and ask. I often had to call to find stuff out because they would get so busy with other stuff sometimes they forgot! Hope Andrew feels better today. Well, I'm waiting to go on our morning walk - not too much else planned for the day other than cleaning and starting my scrap space organization project. |
Good morning all!
Sorry I didn't post again last night. Once the kids went to bed I cleaned up the kitchen and then crashed myself. I'm just so tired lately. But I know it will pass once TOM is over (and I buy some more caffeine! lol) Dinner last night was YUCK! How can something smell so good but not taste that good? I think my beans must have been too old because I cooked them on high (in the crockpot) for 7 hours and they were still very hard. SO I didn't eat dinner and after tanning I got a small frosty from wendies instead, lol. That was my dinner. So needless to say, I'm hungry this morning. Tonight is black and white checkered chili, lets hope it is as good as it sounds. Leigh, congrats on getting up so early!! That is what I need to do also, I just can't pry my eyes open before 7 am. Enjoy your morning walk! And with my kids and shopping, when ava and bubba were smaller (since they were only 11 months aprt) I would put Bubba in the front in his car seat and Ava would sit in the back and I'd put the grocery around her, which she loved to help me stack, lol. Now Tanner sits in the front and bubba still occaisonally rides in the back and Ava hands him the grocery to put in a special place in the basket, or they walk along the side of the basket. It's worked for me so far, lol. Crystal, I would call your doctor. The suspense would be killing me! lol. My periods were always (and still are) very regular so I always knew my exct due date before the doctor did and my first ultrasound was always right on target. And you wouldn't be annoying, you have a right to know. Di, how was your chicken capri last night? And my local grocery store has those little red cars on the baskets to shop with. My kids love them, but the basket behind the car is small so I only use it when I need just a few items. Michelle, are you feeling better today? No chance of pregnancy?? (hey, it has suprised the best of us, lol) Melinda, yes kids can have milk at age 1. It's good to start introducing it around 10-11 months. Tanner has at least one bottle of regular milk each day now but mostly formula still. He likes the milk just fine so I'm not worried about the switch. I just don't know for sure when I plan to do it. And you'll have that 1.4 lbs off this week!!! I know you can do it, you sound very motivated and ready. Cindi, hope you got that mount washmore under control! lol. How many loads each day to you have to do with 8 people living in one house? And my daughter can me very tom-boyish, she can outrun and outplay the best of them, but she is very feminine. Likes her clothes to be cute (you have to see her shop, it's so cute!) and her hair to be fixed. She is a little version of me and I love it. I knew I only wanted one girl and I wanted her to be girly and I got exactly that, but she is into mud and sports too, so it's a perfect combo. When I look at her I see me all the time in the way she acts and carries herself, do any of you see that with your kids? Ok, I have a list of things to get done today since DH will be home tomorrow!!!! We have fun weekend planned. It's Good Ole Days this weekend in out town. Our yearly town celebration. There will be lots of crafts, foods, re-inactments, pony rides, face painting, etc so we are going to take the kids and have some fun. We've missed it for the past 6 years so I'm excited to go again. The last time we went Joe and I were barely married and I was thin!! lol. Now we are old married folk and I am on my way to thin again, lol. But anway, I guess I should get off here and get to cleaning and organizing. Ginny? I know you are super busy this time of year, but please come by and say hello! I miss you! TTYL! |
Just another quick hello! The boys are upstairs alone so I can't stay. Just wanted to say hi and I'll check in later!! Have a great day.

Thanks ladies for all of the support. I am back on the wagon today. It is raining so we did not make it to the beach or the gym for that matter. JW was up at 600 and already down for his nap, so we will go this afternoon.
Leigh - I used to get up before JW and clean, but I have since gotten over that. He is still napping twice a day, so that gives me the time in the afternoons. Spryng - I want to try him on milk. My mom says it is too early, but you know she is the one that still gives him a bottle even though he can take a sippy, just a little messy. Poll of the day shopping cart or buggy? For us it is a buggy. I am spending the day planning JW's summer - swimming lesson, library time, dr appt, pictures. Did I forget anything? LOL Who would have thought a 9 month old would have so much going on/ Oh I forgot his 1st birthday. My mom wants to have a huge party. I say just family. He did have fun with the 50 plus people at my B-day party though. Have a great day ladies! |
Good Morning girls!
Spryng - I am feeling much better today. I think my bloodsugar was really really low. So hubby gave me some oatmeal cookies and I got progressively better after that. Thank God! Your weekend sounds fun!! Melinda - I would love to switch Teagan to Milk now too but doctor says not until she is a year old. Boy oh boy though does that formula get expensive, I wish I was able to nurse longer :( but I have a lot of medical complications and I was taking mass amounts of painkillers and had nuclear medicine performed on me so I only got about 6 weeks of nursing in :( Oh well I guess some is better than none. :D I'm so glad I got Teagan on the sippy early, Taylor didn't take a sippy until exactly her first birthday lol. Leigh - I hope you enjoy your morning walk!!! Keep up the great work!! Crystal - The job is only 3 days a week for 4 hours each day so only 12 hours a week but thats great still!! I didn't care for the girl I worked with last night though, she was only 18 but she looked hideous and I'm not trying to be mean but the girl hadnt showered in like a week it looked like, I tried not to stand by her because that kind of self neglect makes me sick to my stomach. I'm also realizing that the two women they have running the place know absolutely nothing about running a hotel, its almost a joke lol. I came home and told hubby and he just laughed, I wanted to tell them that I think I am over qualified for their establishment lol, oh well it gets me out of the house :D Geri - Boy you are keeping wicked busy these days!! Glad you make some time to come see us!! Melinda - 50 people at your birthday party? I would be lucky if I could get 10 lol I've never had a birthday party to speak of but thats fine, I don't like getting gifts from people and I always felt stupid opening a gift in front of people, I dunno why maybe I'm just nuerotic lol. Well I'm relaxing in bed for awhile, I was up late last night because of my feeling sick so I didn't fall asleep til almost 3 am. My muscles are sore from working out which is a good thing but at the same time I need to give them a little break Im going to do my workout later this afternoon :D Taylor is running around like a maniac in just her diaper, I swear that girl should have been born a boy she hates wearing clothes and would love to walk around in her underwear all day ;) I was gonna get the girls pictures taken on Friday but Teagan seems to have a few baby pimples on her face grrrrr oh well I'll get them taken anyway babys are cute even when they have the baby acne lol. Well I will talk to you all later!! Michelle |
starting a new thread.

Hey Everyone,
I am not counting on hitting onderland with TOM here messing everything up, darn it!!!! Maybe next week! I have been eating pretty well the past couple of days, but need more water!! Spryng...I am not finished with Mount Washmore yet, I usually need to do at least 3 loads a day to stay on top of things...BTW, there are 9 of us here that I have to do laundry for...well, actually, dh and the older boys do their clothes, so that's 4 less loads for me, but I still have plenty to do with sheets, towels and clothes for me and 4 small kids! Hope changes several times daily, so that doesn't help either. She hates to have her hair done, and dh won't let me cut it, so she looks a mess unless we are leaving the house. Crystal...They are getting paid GOOD money to care for you, so by all means, call them...bug them...make them earn that money!!! LOL!! Michelle...Glad you feel better! I often consider a part time job, but just don't think I could keep up with it all. I'd love to get out and be with other people more. Church on Sundays is it for me. Don't know what's for dinner yet. I think taco salad sounds really yummy. But we'll see as the day goes on. Crying little man, be back later!!! |
