Ricci,
How are you doing woman? Hope you had a great weekend! Crystal, Michelle and I are both on South Beach. I had a rocky start in the beginning with it but now I am doing awesome and love it! I am ok with it now that I started Phase II. I still have bread, oatmeal and pasta or rice in moderations and it is all brown or wheat or whole wheat. I have absoutely no cravings for the bad foods anymore. My hubby brought in donuts yesterday and today for breakfast and I have no desire to eat them! I am not having any cravings for anything and actually feel bad if I do eat something bad. Hope you find something that works for you! I do know that it has helped me alot to change my weigh in day to the weekend. It used to be on Thursday so after that I would get whatever I wanted over the weekend and start over on Monday but 4/7 days on plan doesn't cut it..... Now that it is on Sunday I don't want to get anything bad b/c one I don't really have the desire anymore and two b/c I don't want to screw up my weigh in. Have a great night! I am off to bed for real this time! |
Penny, Spryng, and Michelle: Thank you girls so much for putting in your two sense. I think I took alittle from what all of you said and hopefully I can use that as needed. Thanks again for responding.

Good Morning
Okay, I'm barely getting around today because I decided to sleep in. Ever once in a while on Sunday I will do that. I just got up and my coffee is brewing. So I'll be awake later.
Okay my coffee is ready...I'm working on the first cup. I hope everyone had a good night, mine was only soso. Spryng, I liked Matchstick Men. Alittle wierd, but Nic Cage did great. I'm staying home today. I'm gonna get some laundry done, make a menu and grocery list and maybe take a nap. I just want to take it easy. This evening I'll work out in the garden. What's everyone else doing today? I'll check in later. |
Morning in Atlanta
Good morning! My mother returns to FL today, so I should return to my normal posting after that.
Michelle - she gave me the Nuvoring to try for two months and, if I don't like it, we'll try something else. Interesting that it made you gain. My body is very strange and I am very affected by birth control hormones. I was taking the mini-pill (progesterone only) and that was okay, so I'm waiting to see how I do with this one. My midwife said it has a low dose of hormone, so maybe I'll be okay with it. Hi, Pattie! Welcome! I'm mother to one six-month-old son named Liam and wife to a wonderful DH named Jonathan. Oh, and I have a fur-baby - a doggie named Duncan:lol: Hmm . . . have you asked the Jenny Craig people about the loss rate? Maybe that's normal for their program, but I do understand your frustration. On the other hand, I think they say slower loss is better in the long run for maintainance. I just switched to Weight Watchers and will begin it this week (as soon as my kit arrives from them). Crystal - Hi! Well, at least DH is willing to do something if he so chooses - it seems like birth control tends to fall on the shoulders of women. So, would you like more children? I do at some point, but want to give my body a chance to recover from the c-section and all. Also, I'm freaked out that I had pre-eclampsia and am trying to figure out how likely that is to happen again. Do you enjoy being pregnant? I love being pregnant - I felt better pregnant than I've ever felt in my life!:D Glad you enjoyed the zoo. As for outside temptations - is there a way you can bring healthy snacks with you so you're less tempted? Spryng - the nuvaring (I haven't read far enough down to know if Michelle answered this, so sorry if I repeat) is inserted once a month - you insert it yourself. Then you take it out on day 21 -they give you an alarm clock thing that goes off on day 21, get your period and put another ring in within five days of your period starting. But, like the patch, you only have to think about it once a month essentially. HTH! I've never tried the spagetti squash, but have seen it. Now that you say it's good, maybe I'll try it! Penny - glad you enjoyed the reunion! How awesome that you didn't even try any of the less healthy foods there. Hi, Misty! Nice to meet you. I have a six-and-a half-moth-old - born in October! I'm also trying to lose my post-pregnancy weight . . . 30 lbs! I just bought a WW intro kit on ebay - so we could do it together along with Sarah (I think it's Sarah who will be starting WW too). Melinda - how did JW like swimming? Liam loves the water. Hi, Ricci! |
Well I've decided that if I post more often I have to take less notes.
Leigh, no I do not want to bre pregnant. I hate being pregnant, big time. I know though, that it's up to God, if I have anymore. But I do not plan on it. I'm totally happy with my 3. |
Good Morning Ladies!
Leigh, Glad things are going to get back to regular again. :) Did your mom and Liam have a great time? Hope you are doing well with your eating and let us know how it is going! Crystal, Good for you, to take it easy today! You deserve it!!! Hope you have a nice time gardening this evening! Gardening is one of my "things" and I tell ya it is quite a workout in itself! As for me, Drum Roll Please!!!!......... I am down 3 pounds for the week!!! WOO HOO!!!! Have a great day! I am going to try to spend some time with the family today and hopefully even dh :o :) Have a Beautiful Sunday! |
Good morning all!
Penny, Congrats!!!!!! on the 3# gone!!! That is fantastic!!! Keep up the good work. Leigh, I am with you on being pregnant. I love it too. My body is made for having tons of kids. I have great pregnancies, always go to my due date and easy deliveries. I know I will miss it for sure. Do you want anymore kids? That Nuvaring sounds very interesting! Only have to deal with it once a month. It wouldn't work for me because I don't even like tampons, lol. But I'm glad you found something! Did you have a nice visit with your mom? Crystal, sounds like you have a relaxing day planned. I'll be doing some of the same. Just got one load of laundry to fold and put away and some odds and ends to do. I'll finish up my kitchen today since tomorrow we start a new zone. Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful sunday! What is for dinner? I think I'm making chipotle black bean chili and corn bread. New recipe for me. TTYL!! |
Hi there,
OMG it's going to take a week to catch up with your posts! Just popped on to say hi and the party was great!! I'll post pictures sometime soon and promise to go back and read everything. Just finished my 4 mi walk and have to hit the shower. Hope everyone is doing well!! TTYL |
Crystal - hate being pregnant, eh? Well, then maybe you'll be blessed with only these three to raise.
Penny - CONGRATULATIONS! 3lbs??? Amazing job :) yes, my mother really enjoys Liam - he's a good distraction for her. Spryng - I'm coming over again for dinner  Your meals always sound great. I love Tex-Mex, especially corn bread! Yes, had a nice visit with my mother and DH and I got to go to a party last night just the two of us. Geri - can't wait to see the pictures. How was the walk??? |
Good Morning Ladies!!!
How does this beautiful Sunday Morning find you all? Well I had my WI today and I maintained. I think I woulda had a loss except it took me two days to get the last pound of my horrid gain off! But I'm not disappointed. Normally I wait until I pee to weigh, but I didn't but I'll post my weight again if there is any change after I do lol. Me and my obsessions! Anyway nothing big planned today gonna clean carpets and straighten up the basement up some more. I plan on doing a 6 mile walk today wish me goodluck on that lol I'm going to do the 3 mile walk back to back! I'm also going to add some crunches and some weight resistance bands and build some muscle in these flabby arms ;) Even though I didn't have a loss this week I feel pretty good. At least it wasn't a gain. Penny - Congrats on the 3lb down!!!! I am so proud of you girl!! Keep up the good work! :jig: :cheer: :cb: :goodscale: Leigh - so how do you like the nuvaring? I loved it except, the weight gain which I've always been like that with birth control. I loveeeeddd being pregnant when I was pregnant with Taylor but not Teagan. With Teagan I was always in the hospital for dehydration cuz I would vomit at least 20 times a day, I lost 25 lbs in the beginning with her, finally they put me on just slimfast shakes cuz they are easier to absorb and I got better from there, I also spent my whole pregnancy and then 3 months after in bed on bedrest my bloodpressure skyrocketed and on top of that I had other problems that were not pregnancy related so I don't want another baby after that, and me and hubby decided that if sometime down the road we decide we want another child, we will adopt :) Crystal - Crystal I hope you have a wonderful day!! Well I need to get going so we can get to wal-mart and get a new carpet cleaner because my mom broke ours. Have a great day girls, I'll post a bit later. Michelle |
Plans changed...
Hi there girls.
Penny, Congrats darling. We are so proud of you. I've got the South Beach book that I've never read just skimmed and you've got me interested in going back and reading it. WTG!!! Well girls, my plans changed today. I was going to stay home and not much of anything but dh went golfing, then fishing and I thought you know me and the kids stay home 4 out of 5 days and do the same o stuff all the time and the day is just gorgeous so I decided to head up to the mall. Me and all three kids got there before the main mall was open. Sears was open which is where I wanted to go anyway. So we went and got Alisa a sun dress, Ally a capri set and Andrew two short sets. Ally got some sandals and Andrew did too. I got two new outfits and I'll get into that in a sec. Anyway we headed out to the main mall area where some of the stores were just now opening and we all needed to potty so we went up to the food court and pottied and had lunch. I had subway, yum!!!, the kids had McD's. You all should be so proud of me. I had a subway club, no cheese and I don't like mayo I had mustard. I had baked lays and a diet pepsi. I may have had about 3 french fries. I was so proud of me. This was the most difficult part of the day eating. The stroller was back heavy and Andrew was sitting in a big chair, so for the stroller to not tip over I had to keep one foot on it and the other foot on Andrew's chair so he wouldn't tip that over. We don't go to the mall almost never, in fact that's the first time since I think November for Christmas pictures. So we had so much fun. Okay onto the new outfits. Spryng this is what I was going to talk to you about. I'm bland, I like black, grey and brown clothes. I have some colors and I like denim. But I've been trying to learn to spread my wings. I've always been told I look good in corals. I read yesterday from a style consultant, if someone tells you you look good in a certain color, go out and buy more. So I bought raspberry capris and a capped sleeve shirt with white, raspberry, pink and orange stripes. And I did get khaki capris but with a coral little t-shirt. Then I got white sandals. I never ever get white shoes. All my shoes are brown or black. So I got all these clothes one size smaller and I didn't try them on because I had the kids so when we got home I tried them on and.................... they all fit, BUT, are still just a tad snug for public. But they all pulled up and zipped and buttoned w/o a problem. So I'm thinking about 10 lbs. and they should fit well. So that is much motivation. I WILL be in those by my trip which is in 6 weeks. I will work as hard as I need to to make that happen. But I'm just so proud that they fit as well as they do. So you all know, they are 16's. I've been in 18/20 and now I'm getting down to 16's. Any size difference is a HUGE success. The problem for me is that I've done this many times before, I even got down to a 14 before I got pregnant with Andrew and everytime I gain it back, but not this time. Anyway, I just wanted to share my ordeal with you all. We did have fun though and the kids were great. I'll check in later. |
Michelle - hi! It's great that you maintained. :) I'm itching for my WW stuff to arrive so I can start my weight loss over! I begin on the nuvaring after my next cycle. I'll let you know though. So, did you have pre-eclampsia with Teagan? I had pre-eclampsia at the very end of my pregnancy, which is why I had a c-section.
Good afternoon, Crystal! That is so awesome with the clothing!!! When you wear them on your trip, let us see some pics of you in them :) I'm so happy for you. |
Howdy girls!!
Crystal - well congrats on the new clothes and I'm glad it gives you something more to work towards :) you'll make it!! Well I just did a 6 mile walk, I did my 3 mile dvd back to back for a total of 1.5 hours and 6 miles!! I'm so proud of myself!! Well, we went to walmart and got the new carpet cleaner and got an air conditioner for the girls room cuz no one out here has central air lol our summers aren't nearly long enough lol. I also got a new baby monitor because the one that I had I couldnt find the adapter to plug it in and was having to change batteries every 4 days. Dinner tonight I'm thinking even herb roasted pork loin or garlic herb chicken breast with my usual 3 cups of veggies lol. I really need help remembering to eat during the day so I dont have to eat so much at dinner. Anyway I'm gonna relax a little my legs are burnin lol Talk to you later Michelle |
Michelle - good job on all the walking! Wow.
Penny - thanks for pointing me to your web page and thanks for posting the WW info - that was good for me to look at. I'll make sure I come to you, SPryng, and the other WW women for questions! |
I wanted to share with everyone what I was eating for dinner. I grilled out chicken breast, grilled out whole potatoes which I only dressed with Molly McButter and a tad bit of ff cheese, and I grilled out packets of squash and zucchini seasoned. I have no idea how many calories, I'll try to figure it out if I can. I've only had an apple and some of a fresh orange. So I think I've done good. Haven't had hardly any water and I gardened for a bit. Dh isn't home and I don't know when he will be so I don't know if I can exercise or not.
Anyway, what are all of you having for dinner??? TTYL |
