Dee. Cara had a senior parents dinner,a concert, honors day and a mass. Plus getting a big party setup for her and a few others that are graduating in the family.
Later my friends...Wanda you better post. Vicki |
I'm here Dee, just feeling overwhelmed with life. Still trying to hold classes, take care of stuff here with Steve gone, help out the parents, Hospice care, plus gathering stuff for a rummage sale this next week. I did get to paint yesterday, I painted a mailbox up for a friend getting married next week. Hopefully today, I can add the name. I'm working on my brush lettering technique.
I'm getting ready to go mow now, just as soon as it warms up, we had frost this morning. Then I need to setup for class tomorrow, plus my mommy wants her hair done. :-) |
This thread shows we are all busy Floozies!!
Hopefully we are busy with a few happy things this weekend. It is a rainy :rain: weekend here, not much to do but be lazy!! LOL I hope everyone with sick loved one are coping and taking care of yourselves. Hugs to everyone...deb ~~SUMMER COUNT DOWN~~ 80 DAYS DOWN~~16 DAYS TO GO! |
Hey everybody, ran my race today and got a trophy for 2nd place in my age group! I have run 2 races and gotten 2 trophies!! Nobody needs to know how many females were in my age group!!LOL!! It was in the 80's at 8:00 this morning and very humid. I ended up doing a bit of walking too. Anyway, I finished 6.2 miles in 1:06, which is turtle speed, but who cares???
|
Okay, Shelley, it probably would have taken me a day and a half to run 6 miles!
|
Hello
I'm still alive!! If I don't post much in the next few weeks, please forgive me. I'm so busy working, painting and "STILL" moving boxes up to KY at Mom & Dads new house. I don't think we'll ever get that house cleared out!! It's 38 years of stuff!!!!! We have started painting the living room & dinning room though (in their old house, our new house). I picked out the color "Silver Pebble" and it's soooo pretty! I haven't decided on the bedrooms yet. I figured by the end of May or the first of June, we should have ALL Mom & Dads stuff in Ky, the house painted, carpets cleaned and all moved in!! It's sure is a tiring and sore job. :( It's so much harded when you're trying to move & paint TWO families at the same time!! Bad news: Late yesterday afternoon at my Parents new house in KY, Dad was on a ladder trying to cut a tree branch. He fell about 15 feet and broke his wrist!! His face looks HORRIBLE!! He cut & scraped it pretty bad on the side of the tree falling down.He is going to have surgery Tuesday am to have pins put in his wrist. He broke it in 4 places!!!!! We are all upset with him that he didn't wait for help. This 71 yr. old man acts like he's still 20!!! Now it's down to us to finish moving them.Mom has back problems and has done so much, she's about had it. Shelley, I think that 6.2 miles in 1:06 minutes is GREAT!!!! I would STILL be out there running!! LOL! WTG on 2 trophies!! You are awesome!!!!! :cp: I'm so proud of you!! When do the kids there get out? I can't wait!!! They are so wild!!!! Sorry I didn't comment on your neighbor.I was either too tired to post or just too busy. Please forgive me.I'm glad it all worked out. Jennelle, THREE & 1/2 DAYS left for the kids!!!!!!! YIPPEE!!!!!! (I have 6 days left). I'm so excited!! Aren't you??? Debbie, Are you wearing your angel pin I gave you for luck? I'm keeping my fingers crossed :crossed: for you!!!!! :grouphug: I want to have you back at my school so much!! I really miss the fun we had!! With all this moving & painting we're doing, Your pool sounds more & more exciting!! I can't wait to make a BIG splash in it!!! BTW:Your Mom is in my prayers!! Gayle, You sound as busy as me!!!! We're going to have to make a "Gayle" & "Sherry" day so we can do nothing but rest!! You need to slow down girl!!!! My question is.....Why aren't we skinny???!!!!! Are you going to post a picture of your new friend the bird? How's my buddy Allison? Dee, How are you my friend? I thought about you a lot today! How's your back? I wish so much you were well.I hate you being in pain.:( Still got snow? I told Chris about it and he said that he hopes it's gone by July when he goes on his fishing trip there!!! Carol, How are you doing on WW? Did you get back to being OP? If you ever have any questions, please email me.It's really easy once you learn the points. Don't give up...I KNOW you can do it!!! How's your Mom & Dad? I've been saying a prayer for them.I'm so sorry you have to go through the worry and sadness to see them down and sick. Please know we're always here for you for anything!! Love ya!! Vicki, I know you're so proud of Cara!!! Tell her I'm proud of her too. I know you're going through a lot right now with graduation and all, so please post when you can. What is her plans now? College? Job? Ramona, Hey girl.I wish I could give you a big hug! I feel so bad that you are going through so much.I'm whinning about being tired from painting & moving and then I think of you and what you & your family are going through with your Mom and your boys. I bet you would change with me in a heart beat! Is she any better? Is she still not eating? Ramona, my heart really goes out to you and I want you to know that we're here for you and I love you!!! Wanda, Were you teasing us by posting??!! Come on back!! We want you here like old times!!! I noticed you were in MO now and not Ala!!! When did you move? Give us all the info!!!! I have missed you!! Did you go? Please post soon!!!! I'll talk to you soon! Thanks for being my friend. I love you all..... |
Not enough time to post to everyone, but I wanted to tell Shelley how very proud I am of her!!!!! GREAT JOB SHELLEY! CONGRATS ON THE TROPHY! YOU ARE AWESOME!
Sher, give your dad a big ol' hug from me! |
Sherry-I'm sending prayers your way for your dad.
Our kids get out the 27th. I can't believe how quick this whole year has gone (except for these last few weeks!!) You are such an angel getting your parents house ready for them. My SIL, mom and I went riding around yesterday to see where a good place near to me would be for my parents. We've decided that 3 different areas, all in a 3 mile vicintity of me would be great for them. The only thing is, we don't know if they have anything available, not only affordable, but willing to wait until their house is sold. We want a condo villa type thing. There are a couple in one section that run about $175,000.00, which is about what they want to spend. We just don't know if there will be more available when they sell. Debbie-I've got my fingers crossed for you!! :crossed: I hope you get the job at your old school. But like I said before, you have adjusted so well at the one you are at. When will you know something??? Jennelle-Will you be taking any classes over the summer? I know that many of our teachers are required to attend summer training. Carol-How are you doing, kid?? I'm getting lonely over at the challenge thread. Come on over even if you haven't been completely OP. I also thought you were going to join in the walking/running/exercise thread. Come on over!! Dee-I miss hearing from you so much! I hope you feel better soon, my wonderful friend! Tina-Where are you??? Did you happen to see the statue I sold? I had an afghan hound statue that had a $25.00 reserve on it, and I sold it for $355.00!! Turns out, it is by a very well known artist. I've had it for 20 years. Gayle-You must be very busy with your classes. I hope you are bringing in mucho money! Ramona-What is going on? We haven't heard from you. Please let us know about your mom. Remember we love you and are sending tons of prayers to you and yours. Vicki-I have 2 years left before I have to worry about graduation. I'm sure the time will fly. You must be very busy. Becky got her class ring the other day. She was invited to the ring ceremony at school, but had to work that night. Would you believe that everyone that was there gets their cap and gown rental for free when they are seniors, but not the other people that couldn't come. I really don't think that's fair. We paid $400.00 for her ring, and we should be able to get the rental free also. It will run $60.00 for the night when the time comes. Doni-Don't be a stranger. How is everything?? Cheryl-Where is Bransford, anyway?? We have a strawberry festival in Plant City, but I don't know when that is. Wanda-???????? I finally lost some weight this week! I am down 2 lbs. I still have 2 more to go to meet my goal for the challenge. I really want one of those chicks, and I've decided I want to wait until I've lost these 5 lbs.! |
Shelley - I don't have to take any classes this summer because I already have enough CEU's (continuing education credits) to renew my license. We need something like 10 CEU's every five years, and I already have 15 or 16. I was planning on going to a special ed conference the first two days in June, but my mom is coming to visit on the 3rd so I think I might cancel my spot. I also am going to a four day seminar on National Board certification. I have decided to go ahead and pursue national certification, even though I doubt that I will get it the first time around. I am just looking forward to the mentor teacher they give you! :)

Shelley...Congrats on the trophy and running. I think if i ran i would definitely hurt myself. Cara's cap and gown were free also and she has her bacalaurete(think that's how it is spelled) Tues. nite. I don't remember having this much stuff to do when i graduated course that was...hmmmm.how long ago................lololol
Sherry ...Sorry to hear your father fell and broke his wrist. I swear he sounds like something my dad would do, they think they are still young enough to do something like that. My dad will be 80 on the 21st of this month. He is adjusting to just moving into a retirement village and mom moves the first of June... Well Cara is staring me down so that must mean she needs something so catch you all later tonite. Vicki |
Elizabeth had to buy her cap and gown and I believe it ran around $100.00. Her grad announcements were priced way up there too. I never expected graduation to cost as much as it did. I feel for you guys with graduating kids this year!
Jennelle, I had a thought....scary, huh? Could you use all of us on the thread as a class project next year? We could all send info about the city and state we live in. Also, if you gave us a head count, maybe we could even include something small for each child, such as a postcard or inexpensive item. What do you think? I'm willing to participate if the other girls are. |
Gayle-That sounds like a great idea to me!
|
Gayle, that is so sweet! Yes, I would love it! Now, about the gifts...keep in mind that I have two sections that I teach and there is a good chance that I will have a total of 60 kids next year.
We'll talk more about it as the time gets closer. :D |
Wow everyone is so busy right now.
Shelley: Congrats on the tropies!! Your a winner in my book no matter how long it takes to run a race. Just crossing the finish line is a major thing!! I am proud of you. Sherry: I am sorry for your Dad's broken wrist. I hope he will be good as new in no time. You have so much going on with all the moving, painting & school. You are going to be one skinny girl with all that work you are doing... You can't possibly have time to eat!!! Just remember to stop and take a deep breath from time to time to keep you going!! Love you! Debbie: I wish you so much luck in getting your hopes and dreams. No matter what they might be. If going back to your old school is what you want than that is what I want for you. So I am rooting for you girl!!! GOOD LUCK!!! Gayle: Wow, you busy little bee. How do you get it all done and with a new bird in the house too!!! That's a great idea you have for Jennelle. Sounds wonderful. You are such a creative and talented person. My hats off to you!! Jennelle: You might surprise yourself and pass that National Board Certification the first time. I have faith in you!! Vicki: Try to have a little fun with the graduation for Cara. Try not work so hard at it. She only graduates once. I am sure you are going to make it memorable!! Tina: They have a strawberry festival need us too. It is in June. It is always a lot of fun. Cheryl: Hope you are having a good time on vacation. Can't wait to hear all about it. Ramona: Haven't heard from you in a bit. I prayer for your family and especially your mom daily. Take care of yourself and post when you can. Dee: How is your pain. Are you feeling any better? What is happening? Dona: Where are you? I went Saturday and had a colonoscopy done. With mom having colon cancer and since I am over 50 (you should have one done when you turn 50), I knew I needed to have one done, so I bit the bullet and did it on Saturday morning. The worst part was the preparation. Man you sit in the bathroom all night getting yourself all cleaned out!!! The test went great, I don't remember it. They gave me a drug that put me out and gave me a kind of amnesia for 3/4 of the day. I don't remember too much and hubby Kevin said I kept asking him the say questions over and over because I couldn't remember I asked them already. :spin: Anyway, got a great report. Not wrong with me. Not even a polp (sp??) to remove. I guess I was more worried than I thought I would be since Mom found her cancer. So that is the latest and greatest on me. Hope everyone is having a great time with life!!! Live it up, we only have one Life!!! |
Carol-Good for you! I have to do colonscopies every few years because of my colitis. You are right--the prep is the worst. I am so glad that you were clear!
