OOPS!! Sorry Julie!!!
I spent the whole time typing away all about my problems that I didnt even do what I'm here to do...support you!!!! Well I think that I especially can learn A LOT!! from you! From what I've perceived in this short time, I'm very sure that the only one worried about your weight.. is you!! No one is looking at your weight, they are looking at your talent! Not everyone can belly dance ok.....and especially get people to look at them!!!! You can wear anything you want to...right now, just a little larger size!! :) But very soon, you'll be in the smaller sizes!! And I bet, though you don't know this, those little skinny minnys in your class, probably envy you too. Youre' confidence shines and it shows! Oh, and all the stuff you said....It was definately a stressful job and it did suck....I guess I probably was eating all the wrong stuff too!!! You're right of course!!! I took a salsa class last year, but there isnt any YMCA close enough to where I live...or anything else for that matter. But I bet ya if I find a tape or something, I'll be dancing on that!! Thanks |

Jaymi: Not enough food, too many ff items, you need MORE protein in your diet as it looks like you are only getting about 5 oz and you should aim for at least 8 oz with the exercise you are doing, you also need more carbs. I know everyone thinks carbs are evil but they aren't and they will give you fuel so eat more carb rich fruit and veggies (most fruits are carbs btw) and don't forget as hard as you are working with exercise you are building muscle which weighs more than fat. One other thing, you are OBSESSING ABOUT DIET and believe me that is not good so just relax, concentrate on what you want out of life, but don't obsess about it where it takes up all your time. As for men, I have been married nearly 32 years, my only lover, my best friend and there ARE good men out there. I have a son who is nearly 31 and just got married and is a wonderful person so they do still exist. Make your husband your best friend. Show interest in what he likes even if you don't particularly care for it, talk talk talk. My dh and I talk all the time and enjoy each other so much and when you get into a fight, keep it honest. In other words, don't be tossing stuff around that happened months ago and don't think screaming accomplishes anything because all it does is brings the volume of the fight up. Tell him you love him EVERYDAY! It is the first thing my dh says to me in the morning and the last thing he says at night even if I am sleeping and don't hear him, I get a kiss and an I love you every night. (oh and btw, to set fonts and color, highlight whatever you have written and want in a different font or color, then click on the drop down menu select the color and click and it sets it up for you.) Well I managed to work up the courage to step on the scale this morning after my week and a half of bad food and no exercise...it wasn't happy...I'll tell you that...but...I did feel better afterward, funny enough. I'm on my way to the gym now for some sort of work out...I don't want to push it...besides, I just spent the morning scooting all over campus in bad shoes doing paper work so definately burned some calories there. Julie - I'm sure you DID look fabulous in that outfit. Thanks everybody for the encouragement! I went out and bought stuff to give myself a manicure and pedicure and basically pampered myself today and I feel much better. I'm attaching the photo (I hope it works!).....I'm squinting because the sun was right in my eyes. The stage lights and stage makeup will be a huge help....I'll look much better. So, all in all, I'm not too disappointed. My boobs are a bit saggy, but I can fix that by shortening the straps some. I will also have a necklace that covers up some of the bareness up top, and some fringe hanging from the middle of the bra to cover some of my tummy. I will definitely wear my bangs down.....I hate how big my forehead is!
So, you other belly dancers out there.......whatdya think? It only took me 3 MONTHS to bead the whole thing!!! Of course, if I bought it I'd have paid about $350 for it! Oh, and Jaymie.....EAT SOMETHING FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!! :lol: Your body thinks it's starving!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Later babes, Julie |

Another 4pt day for me :cheer: and i've had ice cream twice today :lol: how did i manage that? :joker: Seriously, i did have a little ice cream with fruit for after my lunch and i've been to the mall this afternoon and i bought some Haagen Daz Vanilla & Almond Choc Bars :T :T (my faves) so i've had one of them too ;) a treat for being such an :angel: i've added up the damage and i'm still OP but the fat count is a little higher than i would like it to be :shrug: but i don't care cos i deserve it :D i walked 3mls today too. |

Thanks for all the compliments on the costume......I feel much better with some honest opinions (If you were lying......don't tell me, I don't want to know :lol: ) I just realised that I usually make a costume to fit me and then after the show it's too big and I have to sell it. BUT this time, I can look forward to wearing it when I'm thinner and I'll look AMAZING in it on Labor Day (our next show) Jaymie, might I make a suggestion about your food? Of course I can.....it's my post! :lol3: :lol: Learn to cook, woman!! Those frozen dinners are CRAP! They are full of sodium/chemicals, overpriced, and not enough food to keep a hampster happy!! Since you're not working, you can probably use the extra money you would save not buying those things and you can make a nice nutritient dense meal that you feel good about eating. You'll get enough calories and I bet you'll feel better. There are tons of great recipes on this site and others (I love 30 minute meals on www.foodnetwork.com ) ....you just have to browse for awhile. My mom used to go to Diet Center back in the 80's (are they even still around?)....she always lost weight because they stressed eating REAL food, not processed junk. When they process food, they take everything good out of it and then they have to "fortify" it by putting chemicals back in. EEEWWWWWW........ :lol: Seriously, cooking doesn't have to be scary or hard......(and maybe you are a gourmet cook, and just have eaten frozen meals the days you posted) The best thing you can do for yourself and your family is to feed it well! Ok, off my :soap: Today's my last "free" day to work on costumes.....I have to set up and do dress rehearsal all day/night tomorrow. I'll be at the theater from 10 am until about midnight!!! Hi everyone! I know I said I wasnt going to post in the mornings but I thought this had to be better than watching Dora.....again!!!! :dizzy:
Boy I could just strangle her sometimes!!! :lol: Mirabelly- Ok, why do i feel like I"m talking back?!?! ;) But anyway, :) Believe it or not... I cook everyday or at least every other day for my family, but they dont eat the healthy stuff, or my husband don't anyway. Sometimes I cook meals for me, but I dont have time to fix my own meal all the time. I also end of throwing most of it away because I dont know how to cook for one person yet! But I bought a food scale and so forth to measure my food when I do cook, but I'm just too busy or tired so I just slap one in the microwave....it's either that or not eat at all!!! I'm not knocking anything you are telling me, so I dont want you to think that at all.... just explaining myself! My kids take up my 3/4 of my time, and my hubby gets what's left over... Me even exercising and buying my own foods and etc is a major step for me....My hubby was cool about it though....wish I would have known that before. Last night I baked me some catfish and I will probably eat that for dinner. I'm gonna try to do better, but I swear 7:00 p.m. I'm pooped!! :lol: I'm gonna go to that website and print me out a couple of recipes... thanks! Satine- I hate my TOM!!! Just left... unfortunately I've graduated to headaches now instead of cramps :fr: SUCKS I wish my cramps would come back....I think!! :?: Now, what the heck can I do for myself today for "Time for Us Thursday" Ok... I think I did that right?!?! Probably exercise. That's the only thing I can do for myself today... because I gotta run errands and my daughter will probably fall asleep in the car and that will be her nap. Oh and eat a "cooked" meal!!! *clears throat and looks at Mirabelly*. Maybe buy me something from the store... I doubt it though!! Too much ebay already!!! Well you guys, I better get going while Blues Clues is on because when Dora comes back on it's over for me.. Bye Everybody! |
Julie: You look MAHHHHHVELOUS, girl! The outfit is beautiful and you did a beautiful job on it and are doing a beautiful job on yourself, I might add.
Jaymi: My dh had a serious heart attack last november and because of that I had to learn to cook regular food in a lowfat way. I have learned to cook everything from "fried" chicken and chicken fried steak to rolled tacos without using oil. Anything you would like, I probably have and you CAN adjust what your family eats and make it lowfat for you and NO ONE will even know it, I promise. For instance, I take skinless boneless chicken breasts, roll them in lowfat buttermilk with a few drops of hot sauce (does not make it HOT) and then in a combo of crushed corn flakes and flour. I spray a baking sheet with Pam, put the breasts in and spray the top of the breasts with Pam. Cook one side for 20 minutes, turn them over and spray pam on the other side and cook for another 20 minutes and they really are delicious. Believe me, my dh was a fat lover's dream. He ate fried everything and now I rarely use oil at all. Let me know if there is anything I can hunt up for you. Well, we got that darned china cabinet moved to the top of the stairs and I moved all my china back into it this morning and dragged all the pictures that sat on it up and set them up. I now need to hang all the family pics that were on the walls in the dining room into the stairwell and start painting the dining room. We still have to unload the pantry and move it away from the wall so we can wallpaper, but we are leaving it until last because it weighs a ton even empty. I did my exercise and am going back to setting up a menu for myself everyday BEFORE I eat anything and going to try and follow that and see if it helps. This may just be hormonal and since my tom is ending may stop as I have had it do before, but man I seem to be hungry all the time the last couple weeks. Well, I need to get back to work I guess. Carri: Did you get the gift card? Hope you get to feeling better. Cramps are the PITS! Amanda: Hope you feel better soon too! Cat: You are doing such a spectacular job it won't be long until you are at goal and won't that be terrific. THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Only when you have learned to love yourself, can others love you. Faye - Yes I did get the gift card, thank you. I have not spent it yet, I am eyeing this dress that is on sale at Kohls, once it gets hot I like to wear summer dresses with sandals to work, more comfortable. Of course I can buy in a smaller size :)
I thought it was wierd that the envelope was just addressed to "Carri" and then I thought "hey, I have never given her my last name", ha ha I will let you all know what I buy - and question since I one this last time does that mean I am out for this one? It doesnt matter to me, will still be trying my hardest anyway...later all....I have some bad cramps right now, thank God I am going home half day today.... |
