Hey girls
Hope everyone had a great OP day. I went to the hospital after work and Mom is doing a lot better. She did run a high fever last night and most of the day but this afternoon it was close to normal. Thanks everyone for your prayers. Thanks Sherry for visiting her this afternoon. It meant a lot to me. I am so mentally exhausted, I won't even begin to try and post to everyone tonight. But I am thinking of all of you and sending my love to each of you. Thought for the day.....this really hit home to me!! "Every Passing moment is another chance to turn it all around" ~~SUMMER COUNT DOWN~~ :kickcan:56 days down :kickcan:40 DAYS TO GO:) |
Hi
I'm really tired so this may be short tonight. After work I went to the hospital to see Debbie's Mom, went to water aerobics and just got out of shower.I still need to iron. Ramona......Vicki........Carol.........Debbie, Your Moms are still in my prayers! May they each get well and may you all be strong. Gayle....Can Wayne go with Steve next time he goes out of town?? Dee.....I'm so glad you posted!! I wish so much you were better. Like I said...I would take your pain any day so you wouldn't hurt. Tell Larry to get you a lap top and you won't have to get out of the bed and hurt. Love you! :grouphug: Tina....I forget to tell you...The story at Walmart was too funny! Don't ya just love kids! ;) Shelley....What's the temp. there? I bet it's sooooo nice!! Did you decide what to do about the girls next year? Jennelle...Are the kids at your School wild? Ours sure are!!!!! Lord let us make it to May 20th!!! Cheryl....How are those new shoes? Got them broke in? Doni.....Where are you???????????????????? **For all the AI watchers: I may quit watching the stupid show! I was so upset at who the bottom 3 were!!!!!!!! Later.......Hugs!! |
Debbie....We were posting at the same time. I liked your thought for the day! Soooooooo true!!!! :)
|
Deb, glad mom's feeling better!!!!!
Sher, sure, pack Wayne in a priority box and send him up. He should make it here just in time for Steve to leave again! I swear I make a pretty good handy man around here! Yep, fed up with AI!!!!!! Jennifer was one of my favorites!!!! She has changed so much over the course of the show, from how she first sang to her appearance. I refuse to watch another AI if they kick off Latoya! |
Not much time to post. Just wanted to let you know that the staff gave each of us secretaries $50.00 for secretary's day. Wasn't that nice of them? Today more surprises are in store from the kindergarten team....
You are all in my prayers--Deb, I'm glad your mom is doing better. |
Good Morning
From everyones' posts lately, I for one definately realize that life is too short to take anything or anyone for granted!! Debbie: I loved your thought for the day. About 5 years or so ago my Dad had a knee replacement and got an infection it it as well. They had to replace the knee replacement, but you will be happy to hear that all turned out well. Finally got rid of the infection (but it did take a little time) and he has no problems with it now. I am sure the same will be true for your Mom. My prayers are with her. Get your rest and take care of yourself too. I love you! Tina: In light of everyone's tragedies right now your uplifting kid's tale was a great relief. Kids sure know how to change a whole day and attitude!! Treasure their moments!! Kids are our future! Sherry: I am sure all will work out with your parents' moving to KY. Adjustments such as people moving away, no matter how far, are very difficult, but I am sure all will work out. Hang in there. I love you! BTW Great job and doing your water aerobics!! Keep it up!! I can't believe what is happening on AI either!! It is unbelievable. I guess I better get on that phone and call my choice in so we don't lose anymore of the really good ones!! Gayle: Hey Handy Girl!!! I can always use some help around here. I am proud of you for the way your handling Steve's absences. Keep up the cheerfulness. Your a wonderful person. Dee: My prayers are with you. I certainly hope that the surgeon can help you soon. No one should be in such pain! Please take care of yourself and know we are all here for you! Ramona: In this difficult time, I can only say that I think of you often and what you must be going through. I know in time I will dealing with some of the same issues you are dealing with now and I dread that time. So, please keep your chin up and be strong. Come talk to us often so we can help support you and give you strength when you need it!! {{{HUGS}}}}} Vicki: The same goes for you Vicki... I hope you find a great new place for your Mom. It is horrible to think what she was going through. She is lucky to have all of you to take care of her and keep her safe. {{{{{HUGS}}}} FOR FOR YOU ALSO!! Don't forget to take care of YOU!! Shelley: Your don't great staying OP. You go girl!!! You are definatly worth more than $50!! ;) Jennelle: Any word on that job??? Let us know how you are doing? Loss of someone we care about (either years ago or now) can be devastating. Cheryl: Are you still keeping up with your walking... Shoes working out for you?? Doni: Where are you??? My mom had her chemo with the new meds yesterday and all went well. No adverse effects from the drugs. Time will be the deciding factor, so all we can do is wait. In 3 months they will do tests again to see where we are, so now we wait!! Thanks to everyone for their prayers!! I am giving everyone a round of Hugs today. We all need it!! {{{{{{{{{{{{[HUGS TO ALL}}}}}}}}}}}}}] JUST A NOTE: I want to commend everyone on our thread. Even though most, if not all of us, are going through some really rough personal/family times, you are still taking the time to post to support and pray for your friends here. WHAT A WONDERFUL GROUP WE HAVE. I thank God for such friends I have found here!! I love you all!! Have a great day!!! |
Hey all.....
I had such a b-a-d day yesterday. Not only did I not go to the gym or walk at home, I had a big, juicy cheeseburger (with MAYO!) and french fries for lunch, AND I went out to eat Chinese food and had ice cream & cookies for supper!!! I was awful :( My new shoes are making walking a pleasure again--I just don't know what was wrong with me yesterday. Blah. I feel for all of you ladies that are having troubles with your mothers. That is one aspect of growing older that I am most definitely not looking forward to. My mom has been having trouble breathing and pains in her shoulder area lately. I have tried and tried to convince her to go to the Dr. and get a check-up because I'm terrified that it may be heart troubles, but she says it's just stress. I know from experience that the symptoms of stress can be the same as heart problems, but she needs a doctor's opinion on this matter--it could be very helpful either way. Parents.... Anyway, I'm sorry this message has been a downer. Guess I'll just have to go home, look at my empty baggie and dream of snow........ Cheryl |
Cheryl, you mean the bag was empty? Oh shoot! I guess it must of melted! LOL!
Don't think that you are a downer! We ALL have days when something just "clicks" and we "lose it" YOU are doing AWESOME with your plan! Just get right back to it and all will be fine again! Don't fret if you have a gain due to your day of indulgence, most of this will be water retention. I can not tell you enough how proud I am of you!!!! |
HI!!
Sherry I couldnt believe when they said who the bottom 3 on AI were. I was so shocked. I haven't called in before so I guess I can't complain but boy was it a shocker!! I think they were just as shocked (if not more). I forgot to tell you I like the polls. This one was a toughy for me. I liked a lot of the condiments. My husband is talking about moving about an hour away(in KY). I love the area he is talking about but it will be the farthest I have lived from my parents. I am having trouble with the thoughts of being so far away. What part of KY are they moving too? There are some beautiful areas. Debbie, Thanks for the thought for the day. It really is true! I am so glad to hear your mother is doing better. I hope you got some rest last night. Dee, Glad to see your post. I hope that you get some pain relief soon. A laptop would be a great idea. I love mine!! Shelley what a great gift!! I dont know how it is at your school but where I worked If there were no secretaries there would be no school! You deserve it. Carol I will keep your mom in my prayers and hope it all continues to go well. I am so proud of you for your great posts. I enjoy reading them and admire your great attitude!! Cheryl don't worry about the bad day. We all have them ( I seem to have a lot of them). We all have our weak moments and I don't know about you but stress tends to make me eat and eat and eat. Something about those cheeseburgers I think will make me feel better. Sometimes are parents can be more stubborn than our kids. At some point in our life our roles reverse and you feel like the parent instead of the child. I know it has to be hard. I will keep her in my prayers and hope that she will get to a dr. My mom is still very sad. she is going to talk to a therapist. I just don't know what to do. I am thankful that she is seeking help. I just hope that is enough. Thanks to you all for the great attitudes and sharing your lifes. I enjoy reading about each and every one of you! Love Tina |
Hi everyone. I hope you are all having a good day.
Shelley, that was a great gift. My bosses took me out for Chinese food and they gave me a nice card and a gift basket of various lotions. I had a wonderful time. I had to tease them a little though. There were 5 men and myself. All of the men are at least 6'2" or better and they all had sidearms and badges on. My chief boss wears a cowboy hat and boots, jeans and a pistol. And then there was me standing 5'6" wearing my polo uniform shirt and khakis. We got quite a few stares! It was funny to watch people. You could almost tell the ones who had been to our little "hotel" before. Some of them glared and some avoided us like the plague! hahaha Just wanted to say a quick hi and I'll be back later this evening. |
Ramona--I'd be staring, but I'd be thinking how lucky you were to be in the company of all those uniforms.....Sigh....I love police.
|
Ramona-Sounds like a terrific lunch! Today the kindergarten kids came in (all 5 classes) and sang a song that made us all cry. They were so awesome!
Cheryl-I agree with Gayle. Just pick yourself up and go on. You are doing fantastic, as is everyone!! Carol-Your posts have been a pleasure. I am so glad that you are here. I'm glad there were no after effects from your mom's chemo. Tina-I hope your mom gets the kind of help she needs. Gosh, isn't she younger than me? Didn't she just turn 50? Maybe that's why she has been down. I know turning 50 was no piece of cake for me!! I wish the best for her. Please just let her know that you love her and that you are there for her when she needs you. Gayle-How is Allison now? Has she gotten over the accident? I miss your posts!! Am I the only Floozie who has never watched AI?? Give me that makeover show any day. That's the only reality show I watch. Debbie-How's the ankle? I hope you are walking normal now! Sherry-Have I told you how proud I am of your exercising? You have been doing great. Vicki-Is the nursing home your mom is in located in Tampa? What's the name of it? My bro lives in Tampa, and I'm just wondering if they know anything about the place. Dee-I hope you are okay. Are you using a laptop to post to us? It must hurt to have to go to the computer if you aren't. Jennelle-When is the last day of school where you are? Our principal went to a recruitment fair for the past 2 days here. The whole personnel department from the District was closed in order for everyone there to attend this thing. I guess it was some big deal. I know she hired a few teachers from it. I guess Fl. is in great need of teachers, what with the NCLB act. It's all costing the district a massive amount of money. Doni-Please let us know how you are! |
