Great to see everyone here this morning. Ladies, I'm so proud of us for not giving up. If we keep trying we WILL achieve our goal some day.
Debbie: I'm in for a 1lb a week challenge starting 1/1/07. I think the 1st is an excellent starting date and Monday's are a good day to report. It will keep us honest on the weekend. Ok..ladies if you are in on this challenge be prepared to report your stats on Monday and everyone Monday from there on. 2007 is officially (for me)...the Year of Self. I better get back to work. To be honest ladies, I'm struggling today with wanting something sweet. I did allow myself a small brownie about 10 min. ago and I'm chugging water. I had wanted something sweet since 7:00 a.m. this morning. I was afraid if I didn't have it I would go out at lunch and buy a whole bunch of things and shove them down in my car (I'm a secret eater), so I got a brownie out of the vending machine and ate it at my desk to be somewhat in control. I made it to they gym both yesterday nad today! I am so proud that I did not sabotage myself. Eating has been ok, but I really needed to get back into the workout routine. Very tired today, but will do my best to get in bed at a decent hour. I am in for the one pound a week challenge. but to be truthful I would be happy with any weight loss every week. LOL Have a great Friday!!! |

I am down 8lbs for Dec. Looking to do the same in Jan. Enjoying to hols with my 2 angels. DH and I are still rocky but i am seeing glimmers of hope.DS played in a hockey tournament since Tues. Lsot out today. But won the MVP medal. Happy kid!! I am very happy to see everyone here and focussed and ready to kick butt!!! |

Just checking in. I'm working today but I think that we are all about to get out of here. I had my last weigh-in for the year last night at TOPS and it wasn't pretty. I'm up a total of 20 lbs for the year! I really did not focus on myself in 2006 and look where it got me. That's why for me 2007 is the Year of Self. I'm off to buy some stars to put on my calendar as a way to reward and motivate myself. I'm a visual person and seeing those will let me know that I'm doing good. I'm going to use them in the new journal that I bought for myself as well. Holly: You have done a great job in December. Keep up the good work. UPS: Be proud that you made it to the gym two days in a row. I agree with you for any weight loss every week but I'm setting a 1 lb as a goal...it's just something to shoot for. Ok..got to run. Have a great day everyone. I'll be around the boards sometime this weekend. |
Had a lovely siesta. I am doing so much better at letting myself not do anything once in a while. The kids and I ARE on holidays after all. And any holdiay in the last 6 years has involved 5-9 kids in the house.
The kids were great shopping. I was surprised but happy . It was enjoyable. Hardly any emails or phone calls. No pressing engagments til next week. No plans for New Years.No desire to do much of anything. I am looking to using my down time in January to paint DD's room and the livingroom. Both will need quite a bit of repair work. And strip the stairs for refinishes. Photo albums. Right now tho I am just on hols. The biggest reson I am losing weight is really about accepting the reality of my marriage and that it is not what I want or frankly deserve in life. Still working at making it work but emotionally I am in a difference space. Being over weight has very little to do with over eating and so much more to do with what you are stuffing down. HUGS!!!! |

Hi Ladies,
In just a few minutes I will start the transformation to get ready to go out for New Years Eve. My hubby's b-day is today so we always go out to dinner at a swanky restuarant. It's fun for me to get dressed up but right now I'm so comfy in my sweats! This year was full of changes for me with my positions at work. I'm hoping that I can settle in for a while and just work on my weight loss. I know it's going to take some work to start showing results because this past year I just let it go and I ended up gaining back 18 lbs of the 40 I had previously lost. I can't go back...just forward. Holly: You are so right about being overweight is not about overeating but what else you are stuffing down. I choose that path this year with keeping myself so busy that I didn't address issues I need to address. I'm ready to do that now. Deb: You will get going again. I'm sorry to hear that your Curves closed. Maybe you can find another place to work out or the tapes will work for you. You know that you can find inspiration here! Don't forget Ladies that tomorrow begins our weekly challenge to loose at least 1 lb every week. There will be weeks we won't, but each 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 counts so shoot for the 1 lb and celebrate all losses. Have a Happy New Year! It's a brand new slate. Susie |

Thread for Beginning Weight of 1lb a week challenge

It's been a very laid back day for me. Slept in until 10:00 a.m! I never do that, but it sure felt good. Ok...here's my starting weight: 272. My goal is to have a 1 lb loss by next Monday's report in. I'll actually know my loss on Thursday because that's my TOPS weigh-in but I'll count it as my Monday # too. Debbie: I'm excited to. I love fresh starts. To be really honest I had some M&M's today but after I had the first little bit of them instead of thinking "oh well" I already blew it I thought, ok...I had a few M&M's move on and just don't eat anymore. That worked for me. Tomorrow it's back to the real world for me. I'll talk to you then. |
Greetings, and happy new year everyone! This is my first time posting in this thread, and I haven't wanted to let my goals get too far ahead of where I am, but as of today, I hit my prior mini-goal of 225 and decided my new mini goal is to reach the magic 199. So, this seemed like the perfect place to stop in.
The scale results were very inspiring so I started 2007 with a nice 4 mile run. Hope everyone else has used the holiday to either recover from their celebration, or jump-start their resolutions for the new year. |
Ok ladies, I was so busy this AM I forgot to weigh in. I will tomorrow and report it for today. I am so ready to get moving again. DH and I made it to the gym 4 times last week, and we are hoping to repeat that again this week.
I did twist my ankle today,but hoping it will be better by Wednesday. Tomorrow we are going to the museum, before DS has to go back to school on Wed, and since DH is on vacation. Have a great holiday and see you all tomorrow! |
