Hello....

Just a quick chat since I have someone coming over so he can do his resume. He needs my help! :D

Susan--I think it's funny when men think they need to lose weight or gain weight. James keeps saying that he needs to gain. Since sony, he has lost almost 20lbs. He's down from a 210 to a 190. Of coarse, not too much of it was FAT!!!! He used to work out everyday and for this last year we haven't gone to the gym. Had to cancel our membership. But I think he still looks big in my eyes....isn't that all that matters?

Cristi--You poor thing being claustraphobic!! I had an MRI done when I was in highschool. They were trying to find out why I would pass out all the time. Finally had to have the docs look at me when I woke up at the hospital. I think it was lack of food....you know in high school...you have to try and stay trim and just not eat....(very stupid) but it finally stopped. I'm glad it all over and done with for you. Now you can relax on your own bed and think happy thoughts!! :)

Ok.....I will chat more later on...

Marti

Hi everyone!!!!

Hey, I know it has been a while since I have posted, but I started my new job this week and I have been soo tired when I got home that I didn't want to do anything. I am not used to getting up at 6:00 or earlier and working until 4:00 in the evening. I am also not used to sitting down for hours at a time while working. My legs hurts so bad, I thought for a minute there I was getting blood clots in my legs or something. I am used to standing for twelve hour shifts and I think I would rather do that than sit down and be more uncomfortable. But, this is the first week of training, only four more to go. I have a feeling I am not going to like this job, but I just have to think that i only have to work here until next year or sooner if it doesn't work with my class schedule in the fall. I have twenty credits the fall term and will be working from 9:00 to 5:30 a.m. five days a week. So, who knows if that will work or not or if it will make me sick from lack of sleep and food. Anywho, that is what I have been doing.
Jana: I will put my two cents worth in and let you know that your and your hubby are sooo cute together. You look so pretty and he looks all snazzy in his outfit. Good work on the continued weight loss stuff. You are so awesome.
Susan: good luck on your date!! I will be thinking of you and sending you good vibes. I was up in your neck of the woods last saturday and beeped my car horn in your general direction.
Kayecee: Hello where are you??? Get your behind over hear missy!!!!
To everyone else, I hope your day is going well and I will do more individuals when I catch up with everyone's jabbering. hee hee.
Later gators.

Hiya ladies,

Marti - I do feel the pain for ya, finding jeans at your height, too. Everything is aimed at the 5'6" woman. Sheesh! However, at least you can find a petite section in most stores, but try to find a tall section - no way!

Cristi - OMG, I am so sorry about the MRI claustraphobia! Our hospital has an open one, I think. If I ever need an MRI, that's the kind I'd have to do. Remember the old stand-up tanning booths? I only tried that once, and felt like I was in a coffin! I didn't even finish my minutes, lol.

Shanna - I told Neal you said he was snazzy in his Easter outfit, and it made him smile. Just like women, men never lose their ego, either, lol. Sorry your legs hurt so much! Try to pamper yourself with some bubble baths and massages to help with the pain.

Susan - hon, a pheasant is a bird, lol, I think you mean a "peasant" top! Those were hot in the 60's, too - I had a little white eyelet one with an elastic neckline .. sorry, I digress, lol. Anyway, you made out like a bandit with your bargains, and I think you will look very pretty Saturday. Wonder if he is going through any confusion as to what HE will wear??

Well, I got my shopping done and included in my purchases 2 toy bubble mowers for the twins, from Walmart. I saw them the other day, but passed on them, now today they were marked down a little, so I took that as a sign that my grandkids should have them, lol. Plus, I got a HUGE container of bubbles for $1.97.

Gotta go watch Something's Got To Give w/my sweetie.

Just a quick Hi while I am wasting time waiting for CSI to come on- hope it's not a rerun.

Marti~I am so happy to be done with the MRI-it was almost as bad as going to the dentist! :yikes: I never can relax anytime I have to go to any kind of doctor, etc.

Shanna~glad to finally see ya checkin' in girly. Thought I was going to have to come to OR and see if you were still kickin'! Hope the job gets better as it goes along. I bet it is hard sitting all day when you were used to standing. I too prefer a standing job. My booty is big enough from sittin' on it all day. Okay, most of the day.

Susan~You mean to tell me you have been keeping a picture of Alex from us??!! :)

Jana~Did you get your time out in the yard today and your shopping done? It was soo windy here today, and yesterday. Hope it's not this weekend so hopefully we can get something done. It is supposed to get up in the 80's, not sure I am ready for the 80's yet.

Well, have a good night everyone. I'll be seeing ya tomorrow sometime.

P.S. Jana, guess we were posting at the same time, and I see you got your shopping done. :) It was an open one (the MRI) but that thing was an inch from my face and with the neck brace on and being told not to move! :yikes: How do you not move for 30 minutes?? I just felt like I was in a box. Who knows maybe it was just fear of the unknown?? You know not having gone through it before and not knowing what to expect. Oh well it is over.

Mom2Gaby 04-15-2004 10:11 PM

Evening-

waaaaa, waaaaaa missed you guys today!! I feel SOOOO behind-lol

Pheasant?? Peasant?? lol- ok I spelled it wrong.Gabrielle was all over the library. I kept finding her at a desk playing with post it notes-

The color is SAGE so it says on the top. It says compare at $26.....the purse was compare at $50...yay.I never had a purse before always use to put $$$ in my shoes-lol....of course I am grown up now and put it in my back pocket- though I do have a little wallet-

I would HATE an MRI , Cristi. My mom has had one and the ex....couldn't get me in one- would have to be an open MRI

Kathy- HI :) I know. I owe you pictures.Tomorrow , ok?? I will get some out in the mail.I have some on disc. - need your email though :)

YAY- Shanna......missed you. Love the thought you honked your horn in my direction-.....lol.

Marti- I did get an email from Alex further explaining his weight- as only men can do.He explains that he really just wants to tone up and build muscle.Mainly because he is going to be on a baseball team and they start playing next week-blah-blah.

YEP- Cristi.......I have a picture of him...:)...I was going to share it with you but wanted to meet him first.Wouldn't make much sense to show you if it wasn't going to go anywhere. But I will email it to you. He is with his children- 12 & 9- in the pic's

It has been a really long day.Alex( alex,alex,alex.......sorry-after Saturday I won't talk about him anymore...lol))
Oh, he called-
He is super easy to talk to and he was calling from work.He said we didn't have to go to the Olive Garden, it was just a suggestion- I could pick anything I wanted-actually, I am kind of wanting an omlete-....lol....

One thing that was sweet- he traveled to California and stopped to make his kids this tuna lunch thing- not a sandwish-.....he said he stopped at a rest stop and pulled out his chopping block and chopped onions and some other things- his daughter said......" you aren't really going to do that here are you??".....lol- he said she loved it though. He said he could have pulled through a McDonalds and ordered burgers & fries--- but he wants his kids to eat healthy- I thought that was so sweet- how many parents pack the chopping block and onions for a road trip??? lol

Anyway, enough about that-
My boss gave me a grapefruit on his way out....lol.It was really good-

K- best get to work....

TTFN :)

Hello once again!!

The resume is done. I told him I would help...and that is what I did. I sat next to him and made him do most of the work. I would have done it myself, but the man needed to do it. He already had one made, but he wanted it to look better and add more information. Printed it on some nice resume paper and voila'!!!

James and I have both been sitting at the dining room table studying. I was doing accounting and he was doing his studying for his training. I almost started to giggle just sitting there in silence....I don't know what was coming over me. So I had to get up and smoke a cigarette. Felt like being back in junior high and some cute guy sits next you that you have a crush on but neither one of you say anything...... (ok...I must be in a weird mood, because I'm still laughing about it....and it's nothing!)

Jana--I laughed out loud when I read your post about Susan's "pheasant" shirt. (sorry Susan) it was cute.

Susan--My apologies for having the giggles tonight. So you have a photo of Alex? Would he mind letting you post???????

Cristi--Dentist are AWFUL!! Anything that has to be dealt with in the mouth is a pain!! (no pun intended) I hate going to the dentist.

Shanna--I really do hope your job gets better for you. You may enjoy it after awhile, but once school gets going again for you.....I will be keeping and eye on you!! I don't want you getting sick from exhaustion. It's not worth it!

Angie.....where you at girl?

Kathy--Glad to see you pop in today!! And yes...I've been blessed with having met and falling in love with an incredible man. Very sweet I must say. I told him today that I hit the jackpot with him!!!
BTW...if you wouldn't mind sharing your address or e-mail with me to exchange future cards...would you mind PMing them to me?? I will respond and send you mine.

Ok...I just wanted to pop in again and say hello. You all have a good night. I need to go finish my accounting and then call it quits for the night on homework and just relax!!!

Take Care
Marti

Marti 04-15-2004 10:22 PM

Susan--You must have been on while I was typing away....

As for after Saturday and not talking about Alex....good luck!! :D I'm sure you'll have even more to say after then!!!!

Ok...now I'm really going.

g'mornin'

Once again, shock of shocks :fr: I am the first one here this morning. :coffee: And most of you all are in later time zones -- what's up with that? Haven't you all realized -- I am not a morning person! I thought we had talked about this before... ;)

This is my Friday off -- I work 9 hour days to get every other Friday off. I actually stayed home sick with a migraine yesterday...haven't had one bad enough to keep me off work for several months. They've gotten worse in the last few years, but I think they are hormone-related. Cristi, I feel for you about the MRI. The doc wanted to do one to check out my migraines (since my dad died of a brain tumor, and my sister had a brain tumor removed, but it was benign). But I was so panicked about being enclosed in a box for half an hour I couldn't handle it. It would have felt like I was in a coffin! :yikes: I think if it had been absolutely necessary, they would have had to sedate me. But they ended up doing a CAT scan instead, and it was all open, and didn't freak me out at all. I'm glad your MRI is over, and I hope the doc is able to use the info to find out why your arm is causing you so much pain...and to fix it! Is the medicine you found for your fever blister called "Abreva"? It's a ridiculous price, but it really works like magic.

My oldest son, Erik, is on leave and visiting for a couple of weeks. He wants to go everywhere today -- Jamba Juice for breakfast, the game store, the mall, Chipotle to meet my husband for lunch -- so it will be busy busy busy -- as soon as he gets out of bed! I threatened to go in there an play "Revellie" on a kazoo if he isn't up by 8:30. :drill: Erik is an artist, and there is a small art gallery in the lobby of my work. The exhibit this month is by two sculptors, who have some really wild and weird stuff I think he'll like...we'll try to swing by there, too, for a few minutes to check it out.

Susan, your outfit sounds like it's really cute! I love peasant-style clothes, 'cuz I'm totally a hippie at heart :D And I just love  bargains like the ones you get at Ross. But what do you mean, you've never had a purse before! Are you kidding??? Where on earth do you keep your LIFE?!? You can't put keys and chapstick and gum and tickets and shopping lists and pens and receipts and cell phones and calculators and checkbooks and business cards in your SHOE!

Jana, your Neal sounds like such a wonderful, supportive guy. I know everyone's already told you this, but you two are such a cute couple  I haven't posted in a while and I was skimming through all the posts, and since your signature changes even on your older posts, I read "35 1/2 pounds gone" and I thought, "Wow, how long has it been since I've read the board???" :lol3: Seriously though, I agree with Neal -- you should most definitely count every single stick of butter you lost last year and kept off. You worked hard for that -- you are doing great and we are all very proud of you! :D

Marti, how are things in scrapbook/honeymoon land? Congrats to James for the RR job!!! :bravo: And good for you on your Accounting test score!

Hi to Rita, Angie, Shanna, Kayecee, Kat...

OK, it's 8:50...time to go kick Mr. Vacation out of bed... :coach:

See you soon,

Katiecat

FrouFrou 04-16-2004 12:51 PM

Happy Friday All~

Good morning Katie~I agree what is up with that?? What time did you get up this morning lady to be the first one to post?? The prescription I have is for Valtrex and yes it high priced-thank goodness for insurance. We usually pay $5 for prescriptions but this was $15 and I wondered why. Well, without insurance it would have cost $259!! :yikes: Who could afford it?? It does really knock it out though-I guess it should do something for that price! Enjoy your day off and your time with Erik. Hope you and Erik have a fabulous time today!

Miss Jana~where are you today? You are usually the first to post. Hope everything is okay. How was Something's GOt to Give? I have been wanting to see that.

Susan~Apparently it didn't sink in that you never carry a purse! Yikes lady, as Katie said-where do you put your life?! Geez, I think I have everything in my purse except the kitchen sink! I would have to have some awfully BIG shoes to get all that I carry. Let's see, kleenex, womanly things, two shades of lipstick, checkbook, wallet, brush, band-aids, tweezers, finger nail file, mirror, lotion, chapstick, aspirin, and more-wow, no wonder my shoulder hurts. I like peasant shirts also. I always wore them in the 70's and that is one thing from the 70's that I actually like that made a comeback. Todays peasant shirts are much cuter! How early are you going to have to leave for your big day tomorrow? I will be thinking of you guys and sending some good vibes for a GREAT date! :crossed: :goodvibes:

Marti~That's nice, you helping that guy do his resume. Aaaww, I am picturing you and James studying together, how sweet  I too HATE going to the Dentist, but am afraid it is long overdue and that is next on my list. As much as I hate going, it has to be done. I need to find a good one first. That's the biggest problem, finding one I trust, and that won't hurt me. :)

Hi Angie, Kathy, Kat, Kayecee, Rita, & Shanna, & Skew-think I got everyone in this time! :)

Don't have much planned for the day. Need to go apply for a couple of jobs and do laundry. Anxiously awaiting the results of the MRI. The doctors office called this morning but it was just the results of the pap, darn. Well, I need to get off this thing and get started with the day. Hope EVERYONE has a WONDERFUL day! BBL

Mom2Gaby 04-16-2004 01:28 PM

Good Morning!!

Hiya Katie :) So nice to see you posting!! Kind of early though- lol.....what time was that post?? Great about being able to spend time with your son- my ex had a grandaughter in Iraq and a grandson is getting ready to go over in a couple of weeks.
The weird thing about the grandaughter is she served right when it began and come home safe.-only to be with a co worker in a fast food drive thru and the co workers estranged hubby opened fire on them both(he followed them on lunch break). The co worker died and the grandaughter was grazed-
Anyway, that was a couple of months ago--- ever hear that news story down south Marti???

I know- too much Starbucks running through my system- chatter,chatter......

Never had a purse- drove the ex NUTS- lol.......he hated it always bugged me to get one- the more he bugged the more I resisted. Just carry it in my shoe or pocket....or throw it under the car seat...lol

My co worker & I were talking and she said I really need a purse- wouldn't be cool to pull $$$$$ out of my stinky shoes- besides I am wearing sandels....:)
So, ya.........I have a purse- YAY!!!!

It is sweet that you (Marti)and James were working at the kitchen table together- almost can picture it.....and you full of your giggles- very cute!!!

Kathy!!! OMG- got the pic's photo copied and will mail off- Impressed myself that I did that this morning - always am putting things off ---- but the LAzerquik was by Starbucks and I said I can't have coffee til I make Kathys copies....lol- Gaby was a terror though-

Hope you are feeling better Cristi and Katie :) What are you up to Jana?? AND where is our ANG????? TAner and Brandon won't let her on the puter??? lol I hope she is ok--- lost in Home Depot or something ---

Nothing new about Alex......will send a pic to Cristi & Marti- since you wanted to see. He is Hispanic of course and speak Spanish & French- teaching himself Italian now,....lol, he is so cute.Very excited about meeting him and not at all nervous....chatter, chatter......though I probably will be when the caffeine rush is over with,,,,,,lol

YIKES- Gabster is lost in Library!! best get....lol

Jane 04-16-2004 08:20 PM

Hi ladies,

Cristi - did you get your MRI results yet? Glad the pap was fine - at least I guess it was, or you would've said so. The movie Something's Got to Give was... not bad. It had it's funny moments, and I'm glad I saw it, but I don't think I would bother watching it again. I am a big fan of Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton and Keanue Reeves, though, so that made it better. Btw, I guess the peasant tops were popular in the 70's, not the 60's. I wish I had saved some of my stuff for Katie. She loves vintage clothes.

Susan - OMG!!! Alex is a hottie!! And his kids are cute, too. Were they skiing? You guys will make an adorable couple. Also, you gotta know we don't care how much you talk about Alex! That's what this board is for - to talk about the important things in our lives. Btw, it's so sweet that he chopped and cooked on the road for his kids. Are you getting really nervous? I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. Check in before you leave, if you have time.

Marti - well, Missy, you sure had the giggles last night, lol. Dentists? I use to hate going, then I found a real gentle one, and go every 6 months to get my teeth cleaned. He has filled cavities, etc, and is a sweetie and doesn't make any sudden moves on me, lol. Let's all sing now - I Want a Man (dentist) With A Slow Hand, lol!!

Katie - hope your migraine is all gone and that you had a good time today with your son. I can see how my signature would confuse a person, lol. Sorry about that! But I do feel better including all the pounds I've lost from my highest weight. I took quite a few tops and pants out of the closet recently that are too big and will pass them on to someone else. That felt so good to do!

Yes, usually I'm the early bird here, but have a cold and achy joints. Yuk. I just got over being down and out with a bad back, now this. I've got medicine head now. I have to tell you, though, I caught the cold from my littlest grandbaby, so it's okay.

I have done real well with FT this week, and will be glad to get back to regular WW tomorrow. I'll be back in the AM with the weight loss report.

Be good,
Jana

Marti 04-16-2004 09:25 PM

Evening ladies--

Typical Oregon weather we got going on here...sun, then rain, sun, then rain, sun....and now it's just raining. :dizzy:

Katie--Glad to hear from you. Always good to catch up with the ones that don't post as often. I hope your son didn't exhaust ya during all is stops he wanted to make! :D You say he's on leave, is he in the military? I'm glad you're getting some time with him. Always nice to be with family you don't see much.

Cristi--Don't you think that the results should be automatic? Nothing like waiting around by the phone to hear from the doctor! I hope they have good news for you. As for laundry....I'm needing to do a load myself so thank you for reminding me!

Susan--I got the picture of Alex...very handsome man. I can understand why you are so worried about what to wear!! And his kids are adorable. Looks like a happy little family. You're going to have to post an extra long post tomorrow night or Sunday morning and tell us all about your first meeting with him.

Jana--I hope you start feeling better. Achey bones never feel good. I came home tired today. (and I was only at school for 2 hrs.) I had to go to Michaels today after school to see if they got their shipment in for the memory makers tool set....of coarse they didn't!! I have the rain check in my purse still though. I want to be able to use my eyelets I've bought!!

Scrapbooking has been slow for me. I see all these fantastic idea's and can't seem to come up with my own creative thoughts. So I'm going to have to start borrowing ideas. I tried working on a page today of Jhanai....I managed to get the mats all cut out and then stopped. I'm going to see my sister tomorrow and I plan on bringing my stuff and getting her to do some scrapbooking with me. :D

Well heck....I'm not full of anything interesting today so I suppose I will go for now.

Have a great night!!

Marti

Mom2Gaby 04-16-2004 09:27 PM

Hi Jana-

Did I send you a picture?? lol I was having a horrible time on the computer at that library trying to attach Alex's picture- I know I was able to send it to Cristi & Marti and by the time I got to you I was out of puter minutes- though I tried to send it, I guess it went through??
duh- you got it somehow....lol
I thought he was handsome when I saw his picture for the first time on a Christian meeting site but didn't think he was really my type- never have been interested in Hispanic, even though I am half---just thought I would go against type, maybe get some luck in the process. So, I did writeto him and he was happy to get my response, someone close by--- in the same time zone and all........ He certainly has been very nice to me and respectful.I really have enjoyed getting to know him and not at all nervous for tomorrow's meeting, very excited and can't wait to get on the road!! Crank up the radio and cruz the HWY...lol.....
I told him he was a nice man and he joked back "oh, don't say that.....nice men never get the girl"....blah,blah...........
Weather might be light showers tomorrow , bought a smaller turtleneck so might wear that- and I guess we are going for the movie :).....and I bought some Altoids(sp) because we can always hope and if he wants to hold my hand , I won't protest----course, I should meet him first before I say all this.....lol.......

I hope you are feeling better Jana- and the grandbaby!!!

Hope all is well with Cristi :) Certainly do miss Angie      - hope she is ok........

I weighed today. I won't be able to get on tomorrow. I GAINED half a pound, I am 147.5--- oh hum---ain't sweating it......

I guess that is it. Will try to pop on before I end my shift tonight. Am calling Alex at 9:3PM to make sure we are on the same page. My mom is ending up watching Gabster after all.......yay- and Rachel is all ready for outdoor school- just need to run the car through the wash and clean the window closest to Gaby's seat.....lol - all sorts of smeared goodies on that window....lol

THANKS!!! Appreciate your support........he can turn out half of what I think he will be and still be great....:)
