Default Good morning

I'm so glad I found this thread, although I've got to stop spending quite so much time on this website.
Spryng-I'm glad u had a good weekend.

Ginny-thanks for asking. Both of my boys are still sick and I think Erik has laryngitis or strep. Nathan has gobs of grey goop coming out of his nose so off to the dr we go today. If I remember correctly u are expecting, right? How are u doing?

Crystal-I like the idea of sticking to the plan this week. I slept late since ds didn't go to school and all I have had is gallons of water. I'm still craving sweets from eating too much this weekend but I am gonna have a protein banana shake, cause I know if I don't eat I'm setting myself up for disaster.

Do any of you know what a passover meal is? My FIL is German but he seems to like the Jewish religion. He is having a passover meal tonight and has invited the family. He retired several years ago and he has nothing else to do so he is trying all kinds of things. Which is a good thing. I hope I refuse to give up on life when I get 65. But I hope there are some healthy choices.

If I missed anyone, I am still getting to know everyone.
Have a beautiful day!

Good afternoon all

Good thing I wasn't very far into this post 'cause Tony just pulled himself up and hit the escape button . Anyway, I was saying that Mom stopped by this morning just after I finished my 3 mile walk and she just left a short while ago. She picked up all the branches that fell this weekend and did my burning for me. It wasn't very windy this morning and it's so hard for me to get out and do it with the little guy here.

Ginny, are you EXPECTING? Sorry, Mary, don't mean to pick on you since you're new and all! I just got a particular tickle out of that one....sorry Ginny! Don't know why I found that funny! Hope all is well on the sono and that it's just fibroids. Glad you enjoy your table.

Spryng, so glad you had a great weekend. Can't wait to hear all about it,...well not ALL about it Is your thigh thingy coming yet??

Mary, this site is very addictive! Can't tell you how many times a day I check to see if there are any new posts! You'ld think I had nothing else to do with my time!!!! Just a teriffic bunch of women here. Sorry, can't help you with the passover meal..I'll hope for something healthy for you. You asked if this was a new thread...we start a new one when we hit 3 pages...too hard to keep up when it get's longer.

Hey Penny, so how far's the river? Do you have a cottage/cabin there? Do you rent? I'm so nosey!! I love the water so I'm just curious. Hope you got some rest!!

Candy, haven't heard from you this weekend. Hope all is OK! I don't remember you saying you were going anywhere

WI is tonight. Hopefully I'll be down a pound or so. I'll be sure to let you know.

Hi to all else out there and I'll talk to you later.

Cool Oops

Sorryyyyy! My bad! Thats ok, Geri, I remember seeing the word sonogram and I guess I put 2 and 2 together and came up with 10.

Ginny-I'll go back and read the post again. I remember when I was having problems getting pregnant with Nathan. My dr did a sonogram and saw some fibroids. I would have never known they were there. I don't have any problems from them. And they were unrelated to my difficulties getting pregnant. That was hormonal.

Talk to ya'll later

Good afternoon all!
Geri, I hope you have a fantastic WI!!!! I know you will, you have been doing great. And no my thigh machine isn't here yet. They said it should be today... so it may still come today but I beginning to think tomorrow. I can't wait to start using it!
Mary, no I don't know what a passover meal is but it sounds yummy!! I hope you find some healthy choices.

Well my weekend was wonderful. We dropped the kids off at SIL's about 11 am and then headed up to kansas city. We ate at Joe's Crab Shack which was a very nice restaurant with a neat atmosphere. (the waiters danced and all kinds of cute things) I got a completely fried meal, fried fish, shrimp, clams, and oysters (I told you all I wasn't counting pts this weekend, lol) and fries and it was very good and filling, along with my strawberry margarita/daquiri drink (yum!) and of course banana foster dessert ( two crepes filled with icecream with bananas and chocolate on them) but I did share that with DH. Needless to say it was all very good. Then we went and watched a matinee which was nice and relaxing. Then over onto the missouri side of Kansas City where we had a hard time finding a hotel. Everything was full. But we eventually got a room at a holiday inn and it was a super nice room and hotel. I'm glad we found it. So I changed into a new shirt I bought for the casino then off we went to the Harrah's Casino. Very BIG place and so many people. But it was a very new experiance for me so first we just staked the place out for awhile and did some people watching and then when had our own fun. I really loved it all but I don't think I would go to something like that very often. DH won 22 bucks at the quater slots! That was fun to watch his bucket fill up! So that was about it. Back to the hotel after that. Oh and we rented Paycheck on the hotel tv and that was a good movie. Ben affleck and Uma Thurman. Good movie. Came back late on sunday and had to rush to get my hair and dd's hair cut and styled for our memorial we celebrate every year. So now my hair is shoulder length. I really like it. Oh and Dh took some pictures of me saturday morning before we left for kansas city so I can post some. (of course they are pre-haircut) But all in all I had a wonderful weekend. Just sad it's over and DH is gone. And I'm tired. Hopefully tomorrow I feel like myself again and can get the rest of this house cleaned up. Well, guess I will get off of here!! TTYL!

Oh, Dh got me my digital camera dock for my present! It was so sweet of him because I wasn't expecting anything. So now I just stick the camera on the dock and it charges the batteries and automatically loads them on my computer. Too cool. And the funny thing is this... I bought DH's card weeks ago and he bought mine the day before he came home and guess what?! He got me the same one I got him!!! I laughed so hard. I guess after a few years of marriage you really do start thinking alike. But I thought it was very cute. OK, got to go!!

Talking Good Evening

Well howdy. I just got back from walking for 30 minutes, I have no idea how long that is. But just starting out, it was good for me. I don't feel like though, that my heart rate was raised enough. Can anyone vouch for this, is it just me? I've only had about 1200 calories all day, and I'll just have one last snack tonight, probably an orange or something.

Spryng - so glad you had a good time. I'm sure you needed that.

Ginny - glad the sono went well, we knew it would.

Can anyone help me? I have VERY flat and wide feet. So going walking makes my feet, where my arch should be, ache. Do I need special shoes or just arch supports? Does anyone suffer from this? Just wondering.

I have started taking a supplement from Watkins, Female Formula, I've only taken it about a week or so, but I feel so good. I have more energy, I just overall feel good.

I hope everyone had an ON PLAN day and has a great evening. TTY in morning.

P.S. I've been here a couple of weeks now and I know that dh means husband, but I can't figure it out. What's the d?

Hi all,

Crystal, congrats on the walk...can't help you with your feet! Mine are wide but no arch problems. You have to walk pretty fast to get your heart rate up...the Walk Away the Pounds tapes are very good and you don't have to be too coordinated to do them (they're in home walking) and I don't think they're all too expensive. The "d" tonight means "damn" for me. He has mocked my fear of spiders one too many times and I'm ticked off!! OK, now that I have that off my chest, I assumed it meant dear or dearest...I never asked .

Spryng, glad you had a wonderful weekend.

Ginny I know they have to be cautious, but do they have to make you worry for days on end first!!! I'm very happy for your normal sono!!

Hi to everyone else...I'm cranky so keeping this short. My WI was the same...I didn't make my goal, I'm 1 lb short. Snacking too much so I know that means I must stop it! Plus I'm feeling very bloated the past couple of days...maybe too many raw veggies...but I'm also drinking my water so who knows?? Oh well, this is the start of another week. I'm still down 16 pounds, so who am I to complain? Thanks for listening ladies.

New mini goal is another 15 pounds by Memorial Day. Want to do it for me!

Have a great night!

Crystal - I thought it was darling husband. My husband is that most of the time, he does work hard so that I can stay at home with this precious little boy. I wear the New Balance and they make a Wide Width. I have three pairs that I switch from day to day. Sounds crazy, I used to buy cheap shoes, but when you think that your shoes support your weight and everything they need to be good ones. New Balance and Danskos are about all I wear. I will put on a nice shoe for church, but that is only a couple of hours.

Penny - I have most of the WW stuff. I am thinking about joining. 4.5 pounds in 2 months is not cutting it. I am worried about JW though. I don't really want to tell my mom that I am going to WW, she will watch every move I make and expect me to lose 10 a week J/K you know what I mean. Maybe evenings or Sat when dh is home. Sounds like you are having a lot of fun on the river. Is the water warm yet?

Ginny - I am so happy that the sono was normal. My pap was normal, so that is a relief. My doctor sends it on a staple card in the mail. You would think there would be some confidential issue with that. Good advice on the eating out. I always calculated high when we are out to eat. Daylight Saving will take an adjustment, so nice for us to have daylight at 800pm.

Mary - Fill us in on the Passover meal. We are Lutheran and German, so don't know much about it.

Geri - Don't get discouraged. You are on top of the exercise. I need you to get the stick out. Only one day of exercise for me this week. Missed Sun and Mon. How do too many veggies make you retain water?

Spryng - Did you feel like Newlyweds again? I really like the Joe's Crab Shack. I think it is a change.

No workout today, Monday is the work day. I will go in on Thurs this week, all the clinicians are on spring break with kids, so not much going on. Going shopping with gf tomorrow, JW will come along so we are leaving at 830 and hopping to get back at 1200. Maybe he will sleep in the car. She does not have kids, so she might not want to shop with me again.

Happy Monday!

Good evening all!!
Got some great news tonight!! BF water broke!!!!! She was 39 weeks yesterday and I am so excited for her!! I hope to get to see their baby this weekend. I'm praying she has a safe and quick labor and delivery.

Melinda, you can do WW without going to meetings if you have all the stuff already. But I wish I could do meetings myself, just for that extra push it gives you. I think you should be able to do it without your mom knowing. Let us know how it works out ok? Did I feel like a newlywed again?? Hmmm.... well I guess a little since we had no kids with us. But no... not really. I felt like an old married couple, lol. When we were newlyweds we only left the hotel in search of food and that was it lol! So things have really changed. But it was wonderful to spend all that time alone with dh.
Geri, so sorry you are having a rough night. You will hit your goal next week for sure. And as for dh, throw a few spiders down his shirt and see if he doesn't get a little scared. I myself love all spiders (used to keep black widows as pets when I was little, I thought they were so pretty... I know better now, lol) but I understand not everyone loves them as much as me and that is ok with me. My dh is really scared of them and I respect that. When is memorial day? In may?? I think your new goal sounds great!! I hope to be at my goal weight by may 1st. I need to quit eating so much on the weekends. But like you said, it's a new week and we all have a fresh start. Today I did very well. Had baked chicken tonight with red beans and rice and corn. Very filling. Lots of fiber. (beans beans the musical fruit.... ) jk!
Crystal, congrats on getting that walk in!! 30 min is a good amount of time. If you don't feel like your heartrate was elevated then just try walking faster next time. And I am pretty sure DH means dear husband but I agree with Geri sometimes too! lol. Oh and I got your catalog today in the mail. Lots of interesting stuff in there!
Ginny, so glad your sono showed normal results. I'm sure you are very relieved. And hopefully you'll have more time to post tomorrow!
Well my lateral thigh trainer should be here tomorrow for sure. I hope it gets here in the morning, I am getting so anxious about it.
My evening has been fine. Kinda boring. Nothing good to watch on tv on mondays so I ended up watching Harry and the Henderson's with the kids. It was on AMC and the kids loved it. It was their first time to see it. I started a new novel, called Possesion by Ann Rule. It's a very good novel. About a serial killer. I had to stop reading it when the sun went down because it was freaking me out. But a very good story line so far. A thriller.
Ok, I'm off to bed I suppose. I'm very tired but I can't stop thinking about my BF and how things are going for her right now. I hope it all goes well and I get a phone call in a few hours saying Lelu has arrived safe and healthy!! TTYL!

Default Good Morning

Hi...... ......... ....okay, Hello
Sounds like everyone had alot to say last night. Thanks for you suggestions for my feet. And my heart rate, I'll try them all.

Geri- sorry about your husband, I understand. I HATE spiders, I mean HATE them. He only mocks me when I make him kill one, he pretends he's gonna throw it on me. I want to smack him sometimes.

Spryng- glad you had so much fun. When you say you felt like an old married couple, I thought WOW, I'm going on 27 and going on 9 years of marraige in Sept. That makes me feel like an old married couple, but don't worry, I felt that way before you said anything. Let me know if you're interested in Watkins personal care products, they are having a special on some of them. Buy one get one free. If you're interested let me know.

Has anyone heard from Candybar74? I hope everything is okay.

I hope everyone does good today. Remember my challenge yesterday??? An ON PLAN day EVERY DAY this week. Last night I came in under 1300 calories.

Gotta Go.

Good morning!
Well, at least I have some time to post, not a ton but some.

Penny- not that I am the queen of good advice, and I too am having a tough time getting back on track (that is what no WW meeting does to me!) but I usually find that the next day I start drinking lots and lots of water- cold water- early. I try to placate myself with that, yes I will eat but something really simple (for me it is plain oatmeal or a piece of fruit, use what works for you). I guess this is sort of a mental signal that I am getting back on track and that there will be NO junk. I have to play all kinds of games like that with myself.....hope you can get back into the swing of things today.

Crystal- sounds like you had a good day!!!! Congrats on keeping below the 1300 calorie mark.....you are doing great. Good job getting the walk in. I agree with Spryng- increase the pace if you need to, and/or invest in some 2# hand weights and carry them. Good walking shoes are a must. If you need to buy some orthotics (Dr Scholls are fine) to make the shoes perfect for your feet. I used to live in Reeboks......then they discontinued my shoes, and now I have Nikes that I love. Walking shoes are very personal- keep trying until you find a pair that feel great.

Spryng- so glad you had some quality time with Dh, away from the kids. Hang in there, even if your eating was not perfect too- you have been so successful and have all week to regain your focus.

Melinda- WW should be easy for you to follow, even under the eye of Dm, because you can eat anything (within reason) using portion control. It would just look as though you were eating healthy......sorry that your Dm could sabotague you, I know for a while I had to not tell my own, I was not willing to face all her questions. (now she is fine). A normal weight loss for WW is 1-2 # a week, and less so as you approach goal. Hang in there, you have lots of support here!

Geri- you are doing so well!!!!!!!! Golly, 16# is nothing to sniff at and that crummy 1# could be water (have anything salty?) or who knows what. As you said you were snacking.......most snacky things are high in salt. Next week will be better!!!!! Boo hoo to Dh for picking on your fear of spiders. I had an instance like that with my Dh- he mocked my fear of heights and we went on one of those super high cable car rides up Jay Peak in Vermont. Oh, I survived it ok......can't say I was happy at all.......close to tears the whole time...finally a year or two later (yes it took that long) he realized that I really have a problem with heights and we have compromised. I have become a bit more nervy (but will NEVER go on Jay Peak again!) and he has backed off. Seemed like it took forever for him to not pick on me. Vent here- I hate spiders too!! (ever try spraying one with superhold hairspray??? It sure shuts them down fast!hehehehe)

Did I get to everyone???? I agree, where is Candy? Hope she is ok! No walk this am- I am trying to slow down myself this week a bit and sleep a bit. I hope to get a walk in later. Guess I'd better get going on laying out Dd's dress. See ya later!

Good morning all!
Well Lelu Elaine is here! She was born at 12:15 am this morning! Only 6 hours of labor with no drugs!! lol. I've never done it all natural. She was 7 lbs 1 oz and 20 1/2 in long. I know this all probably means nothing to you, lol, but I just had to share. I'm so thrilled for them right now. I will go down to see her not this weekend but next.

And about Candy, she is no longer part of SAHM's. I emailed her yesterday to find out if she was ok and they are about to begin building their house so she is super busy and all that. But you all can email her yourself or pm her and I'm sure she will fill you in.

Ginny, I know you are right about me. You always are, lol. I am going to pay more attention to what I eat on the weekends and not go over my flexpoints anymore. I keep sabotaging myself and the only person it is hurting is myself so I am going to stop that right now. I want to be at my goal by may 1st and to achieve that I need to quit mindless eating on the weekends. Are you going to Wi tomorrow?

Penny, I hope you are able to get back OP today. For me getting back OP after the weekend is very easy and natural, now staying OP during the weekend is very hard for me especially if DH is home.
Crystal, I'm sorry, I don't want you to feel like an old married couple... I don't guess it came off the way I intended it to. I guess I should say I feel like a very comfortable married couple. My DH still makes my stomach flip and can kiss me until I'm dizzy still so I don't think we are that old of a couple, lol. I guess I just meant it didn't feel anything like our honeymoon but it was still lots of fun. I hope that all makes sense, lol. Congrats on staying under 1300 cals!!! That is great. I am with you on your challenge for this week. We can do it and hopefully we all have great WI's!!

Well, I guess I will be staying home today waiting on my package. I need to go grocery shopping but I will wait until after I get my package first. So in the mean time I plan on cleaning and maybe reading some more of that novel now that it is light out, lol. Hope everyone is having a great OP day!!! TTYL!

Hi all,
Welcome to all the newbies. Spryng, glad you had a good weekend with dh. Ginny, glad the dr's appointment went well. Can't really remeber anything else right now. My WI was 155 on Friday. I have been helping my mom move, and she has a ton of stuff. She is going from a six bedroom, two living areas down to a three bedroom, one living room and a very tiny kitchen. I still have been getting in my exercise, and hope all of you do the same. I just need to kick my diet into high gear. I know I need to eat ALOT better. Well, have a great day everyone.
