Just popped in for a quick hello. I have to take Tony for his 9 mo checkup today so I won't be around much.
They're upstairs alone right now so I have to go. I will talk to you all later.
Spryng, the callenge sounds fine. 3 days the 1st week and 4 the second works for me (I'm personally shooting for 5, but will be happy even if I don't hit it.)

Gotta go

Well,I am jumping in late here and no time to read posts. But I will join the challenge, personalizing it a bit. I am going to go for a number of days of staying OP- stress eating has been plaguing me~ and I usually get to workout no matter what. So, if I try for that general behavior modification, for me it will be better.
Sorry I can't get personal right now, hope to get back here later. Have a great day!

Great idea on the workout challenge! For me the workouts are easier than staying on program. I like Ginny's idea of having a stay on program challenge as well.

Geri, I am with you on the late night snacking. My DH husband was making cookies last night and I think I just ate them (3) to eat.

I think my computer is about to crash. It is really slow, the monitor is not clear anymore. I was trying to get some pictures of JW in some kind of slide show and it frustrated me so much I had the cookies.
Babies change your life for sure. Before JW I worked full time, grad school at night, and always had a clean house and was not even stressed. I quess my priorities have changed. Gosia and anyone else in school, you are really driven. Congrats on the good work. As soon as I finished grad school, we found out we were pregnant and I told my DH that I didn't want to go back to work after the baby. My mother says that I am wasting my education and that I should work. Only because she wants to take care of him during the day. I truly believe that staying home with JW is the best thing that I have ever done. I will eventually have to go back when he is in school. I know too much information, but it makes me feel better to vent.

Candy: The recipe is just chopped tomatoes, chicken, and feta cheese. I just mixed them together. The feta has enough flavor that you really don't need any other spices. It would be good vegetarian. I love white rice, but we have started eating brown rice due to the carb thing. I really don't mind the brown now.

Spryng: I did get a subscription to Cooking Light. I saw there annual cookbook in Costco, decided against. I have some many that I rarely use.

Ladies, Keep up the good work!

Melinda

Good afternoon all!
Well I have been busy so far today. I went to walmart to buy some plastic drawer things to organize the kids toys and then came home and attacked their rooms. It was alot of hard work but they are both clean now and organized and I threw out alot of old toys (broken ones mostly) I got them both a little toy apiece at walmart and they are now contentedly playing quietly in their rooms for naptime. I was working so hard though that I almost forgot to eat some lunch! lol. So after I was done we had grilled cheese sandwiches and chips for lunch. Hit the spot. :)
Melinda if you have a subscription to cooking light then you will be able to access thier website for free and there are thousands of recipes online. I just love their website. In fact I'll be going there today to get some recipe ideas for this next weeks menus.
Ginny we will support you 100% with your challenge to stay OP!! I know you can do it. Think of how far you have come and how close you are to your goal. Summer is right around the corner and I know we all want to buy some cute summer outfits soon! We can all do it!!
Geri, hope everything goes well at your appointment! I need to get Tanner in for his next set of shots. They are way over due. Right now he has a small cold so I will wait until that clears up before taking him.
Well I guess I will get off of here now. I don't know if I will chat today. I need to find some recipes for this next week and I really need a nap (I know I must sound so old!!! but I really need a nap sometimes to get through the rest of the day) And my WI is tomorrow and I'm getting excited about that.
Ok, got to go! TTYL!

Oh my gosh......you mean today finally ended???????? :( My afternoon run was a mess, kids misbehaving.....had to pull over a zillion times to get them calm, bloody noses galore (from colds, noone was injurred) plus had to return to school for a student on the wrong bus. Today, they can have my liscence and burn it!!!!!!

Geri- I hear ya with the late nite stuff. That is what has been killing me for a while now. One WW strategy is to allow yourself a portion of a zero points snack. Herbal tea is a nice alternative...or some decaf- diet jello whatever works for you! Good luck.

Melinda- boy your computer sounds just like mine did when Ds infected mine with a virus a few weeks ago! I love your picture too!!!!!!!!Thanks for posting it.

Spryng- send some organizing skills my way please! I have to do that so badly and have no time to do so!

Candy, Ricci, Gosia and anyone else I missed.......gotta go make dinner- please forgive me!
See ya later!

Well, I was going to start a new thread but then I would forget everything on this one!!

Hi everyone,

Ginny, sorry about your day. I don't know how you deal with a bus load...I have a hard enough time with 2  :( ;) . Hope you can get some relaxation in tonight. For me it is better to go cold turkey with the snacking (funny how the word turkey got in there  )...at least for now. If I have one thing it may lead to another and so on. That's what happened the first 2 times I quit smoking. Arrrrgh! After 6 months I thought I could have JUST ONE. Ya right! Apparently I didn't learn the first time ... the 2nd time I made it 8 months and did it again. :dizzy: So, if I feel the need for a little sweet, like sf jello, I'll have to have it before 7pm or I won't have it. Once I start I have a hard time stopping.

BTW, I got on the scale tonight and I am down 3 lbs since Monday night. Now that might give you some idea of how much I was eating at night!! I've also been really good with my water and treadmill. I would be happy with a 1-2 lb loss a week so we'll see how it goes. I feel pretty good about myself right now so that helps!! :D Next week is TOM so we'll see how the WI goes...by Monday night I could be affected.

Melinda, I hope your computer's OK!! I would hate it if something happened to ours.

Funny story (well, I think it's funny). At Tony's appt - Oh geez, he's 9mo, 21 lbs 6 oz and 30 1/4" long and healthy as a horse - his ped. asked me how things were going. I kinda smiled and said how many kids do you have again? He looks like he's in his early 20's but probably his early 30's...he smiled and said we're going to have number 6. I couldn't even say congrats...I said "may I say.... ARE YOU CRAZY???" Thank God he laughed  Mind you I didn't even know they had #5!! He said the tough ages are betw 9 mo and 3 yrs ... then looked at me and kind of laughed 'cause he realized that's were my 2 guys are. He said I would make it through it. Can you imagine ... 6?? That mean's they had one after Will 'cause they only had 4 when he was born and they have yet another on the way. OMG :p

Spryng, about snacking. All Dr Phil says is try not to eat after 7 or 8 at night because your metabolism slows down and food turns to sugar more quickly. I would rather just get out of the habit. It seemed to take longer for the "hungry" feeling to hit tonight so there's light at the end of the tunnel :)

Can't think of anything else I wanted to say. Hi to everyone else. Hope you're all doing wonderful. Andrea, how are you feeling??? Have a great night.

Time to start a new thread......see you there!
