oh yeah, My son got in a fight at school today. He then came home and lied to me about what caused it so now he is grounded. Not for fighting(that I dont mind as long as someone else is picking on him) but for lying to me about why. The principal said Corey was laying in the sliding path and wouldnt move so anyone else could slide so a kid got pissed and knuckled him. The other kid got suspended and the cops got called but since Corey didnt punch back he just pushed they put him on in school suspension. So I guess he gets to miss skiing this week with his class(they go skiing at the Mountain on Wednesdays) I dont know why he acts so high strung around other kids. He will sit there and annoy them until they cant stand him. I keep telling him to tone it down a bit but he wont.

Hey everyone. Sorry to be AWOL yesterday but I got kinda busy and was being pulled in all different directions at once...I don't know what it is but my knees are killing me! It's not like I'm doing more exercise or straining myself any more than I usually do. I am seriously thinking I need some kind of glucosamine pill or something. A few years ago I fell on my left knee, then not quite a month later when my knee was still weak, I fell on it again ...whenever it gets cold or I exercise a lot I can feel it aching--which is what it's doing now, except my right knee is giving me some grief now when it never used to, don't know what's up with this?!! *sigh* Just a part of getting old I guess? OK, I had a binge yesterday. I made a plate of nachos w/ Tostitos and sharp cheddar cheese (my fave), with some salsa and sour cream--not fat free either. I don't know what possessed me, I just came back from my walk and felt like eating nachos, so basically that was my dinner. I am doing so far so good today though :crossed:.
Angie, don't know what to say about Corey--that little rat :D. I think you did right by grounding him for lying to you though. 30-45 degrees warm?!! I think we're at 81 today but it's cloudy and not too much of a breeze, it's positively muggy and stifling! yuck! With this kind of weather I'd rather be in Bangkok . Ummm, on second thought, scratch that, I don't want to encounter the Asian bird flu... Did anyone here anything about the strain of bird flu in chickens in Delaware and Kentucky? That's downright freaky! Donna, I like the website. So your man's a musician huh? That's great! It must be an interesting life. Does he travel alot or does he stick around home? Anna how's your day so far? You're a funny one teaching your instructor swear words :nono:. Hey, good job for stopping at 3 pieces of chocolate! That's great willpower. Thanks for the tips on the computer. Luckily my friend is a whiz at these things and ran all the scans and updates for me so I should be pretty set for now. I just saw a Nat'l Geographic show with Lisa Ling who traveled to Shanghai to see where Yao Ming (Chinese NBA basketball star) grew up and played basketball. I thought of you while she was walking around the city. Kempy, don't know what to say except come here to gripe anytime you want! I know how it feels to feel "stuck" somewhere, underappreciated and unerpaid. Like Angie said, just think about the days remaining until you're free. Julie how are you today? Sorry I couldn't come out and chat yesterday. I didn't catch that episode of COPS you mentioned but I think they were in Maui weren't they? I love it there. Yeah, I know a few good looking cops myself, hehe. Hello to everyone else...Tonya, Cal, Jacks (where are ya?) |
Good Afternoon
Sorry got on so late...The kids have kept me going all day. Tonight for supper I am going to have chicken breasts maybe with some rice a roni? Angie I am not looking foward to the preteen years. It must be hard sometimes. Hopefully he and the other kid learned some lessons. Is Corey badly hurt? Thanks Donna, my stomach is feeling better. You made me laugh, sometimes I do look at him and he makes me feel sick ! Noelle yes it was in beautiful Maui! With the beautiful tall dark and handsome policeman. Oh my gosh I am having chicken tonight and ya made me think of that bird flu. I hope I don't start growing feathers or something ! Do you think the humidity has anything to do with your sore knees. Hope you feel better. Btw nachos sound great. I love mexican food. Well the stove is calling. Talk later Julie |
Noelle, Get the glucosamine quick. It really works. Candi had her knee injury that healed wrong and she wouldnt even use that leg and the vet told us to put her on glucosamine and within a month she was walking fine. Now when we went on vaca we got out of the habit of giving her the pill everyday so now she is a little lame.(maybe it is the frigid weather we have been getting) But anyways not to compare you to a dog or anything  but it does work. Dont feel bad about your binge because my MIL just sent down some Chhes puffs, peanut m&m's,cookies and graham crakers covered in chocolate. The grahams got me. I tried just one and before I knew it I ate half a bag. It is going to be a long night!!! AAHH!!
Julie, Chicken sounds good. I had spaghetti and garlic toast tonight. I bought some chicken to make fajitas this week. I cant wait I have been craving them. I make a ton and then buy the snack baggies and measure out enough for 2 fajitas and throw them in the freezer for lunches. No Corey isnt hurt. He has a scratch on his lip but he will be fine. He is mad now because he will miss next weeks episode of Fear Factor. They are going to make them lie down with tarantulas dumped on top of them. EEEKK!! I could NOT do that!! |
Noelle I agree w/ Angie. Get you some suppluments. I have heard of lots of people who use it and they love it.
Donna the site looks good. Be sure to let us know when you make changes to it. Julie you sound like you cook the same way I do. I try to make things as easy as possible. I ended up eating left overs from last night. Exciting huh? Angie my friends in FL are about to move to a differnet part of FL. I am thinking about you as she is talking about finding a place to live. She has no idea what to expect and she has no jobs lined up for herself. (not saying that you don't) It is going to suck now that we can't go see them alot. That is just a little but farther than we normally go. I went to the clinic today and they changed my prescription. It really wasn't working for me like it was for everyone else. I hope this one helps me kick things in the butt. I have lost 7lbs which I am proud of but most people loss at least 15lbs on these certain ones. I guess my body was thinking these were a joke. Well, watch out body here comes something different. |
Hey all! It's Wednesday morning here. I woke up in a good mood, but just got a call from a co-irker who drives me stark raving mad, so there goes my good mood. (It's hard to explain why she annoys me so much without going on a long-winded rant for about four days.) Ah well, I have my favorite classes today and tomorrow, so I'll be good.
Wu Shu (it's pronounced "ooo shoe") is a bit hard to explain, because it depends on who I talk to. If I were taking it back home, it would be a "flashy" martial art. The schools back home focus on distracting your opponent with bright clothing (instead of the white stuff) that crackles when you hit it, and moves that distract from what you're actually trying to do. However, over here I've been told it's "Chinese Kung Fu" (which confuses me). Basically it's a martial art that seems to depend a lot of leg movements. Which my lovely legs are attesting to quite strongly today, even though it's been two days since the class. Ow!! *smile* Donna, on my computer your website seems unusually dark. It's got a dark red font on a black background, or a dark gray font on a black background, and I can't really read it without hilighting things. I use a browser called "Avant Browser". I could not make myself go out and run yesterday. *sigh* I read the Skinny Daily Post, and I so envy her whole "just put your feet on the ground every morning" theory. So, all I did yesterday is drink lots of water and did some very light dumbell lifting while watching movies. I have to run tonight though. After my Chinese lesson! (Yay! Chinese lessons!) Anna |
arf arf...
 I went home during lunch and mentioned to my mom about taking glucosamine tablets, she just happened to have two bottles which she stopped taking because they were upsetting her stomach. I read the bottle and it says to take with food so I took some w/lunch. It's a 3x a day dosing so i really want to see how long I need to take these before I can tell the difference. No stomach problems just yet (other than the normal bloating :ink:  ).
Kempy, 7 lbs is great! Stop comparing yourself to everyone else. I know how you feel though. Good luck with the new script. Do you sometimes feel like your body has a setpoint weight? What I mean is, I know for a fact that my body is comfortable @ 180. I fight it and I fight it but somehow that's a weight which I keep getting up to. I've been yo-yo-ing between 175 and 180 for a while and while I've gotten to 174 (again) it seems like I want to eat eat eat. *sigh* The darn binge monster is rearing its ugly head. Let's just keep trying, it's all we can do since we won't give up! Sorry your friends are moving farther away. Maybe when Angie moves down you can make it a dual purpose visit and see both of them. Don't know what's for dinner yet but I'm sure it'll come out of the freezer or a can :chef: . |
Kempy, Sorry your friend is moving away. I know exactly how they feel. I havent even seen the city we want to move to but the demographics sound so perfect for us. There isnt any bakeries there unless you count Duinkin Donuts and we can make better donuts than they do with our eyes closed. I will have to shrink the picture I took of their donuts with our donuts. I took it to put in with my business plan to show how our product differs from the competition. I am sure we are nuts but I just need a change and maine isnt cutting it. They have stories on the news everynight about this or that mill shutting down and what can we do to keep our young people from moving away? Hello!?!? Keep the jobs here!! Maine ranks as the second worse state to run a business in. Where as Florida is the second best. So hopefully we are doing the right thing.....
I have already had a bad morning!!! I came into get on the computer and Brittany left a bag of Flips(the chocolate covered grahams) well I just started to eat them. WHY?? Someone give me a kick in the ***!!! I am going to be good for the rest of the day, I will not let this detour me!! Noelle, I have to start taking those too. When I started to gain weight(way back in the beginning) I would have my knee give out on me a few times and I would fall and twist it.yada yada so I figure I should probably take some too so that it doesnt happen again. |
Noelle I have heard that it will take a few weeks to get into your system but you could be different. I don't think I have a set point for my weight. I have never stayed at one weight for very long over the past 10 years. I really don't want it to be the one I am at right now.
Anna how much longer do you have to stay over there? Angie is it any warmer over there today? Julie were you good at dinner last night? I did my taxes yesterday and we are getting enough back to cover that large amount that they said we still owed for 2001. I am so gald I didn't send them a check. It took them until a few days ago just to figure out the correct amount due. I am just so thankful for me being in school. I think that is what really gave us the big deduction. |
Angie you were posting at the same time. That is so weird b/c they say that Louisiana is one of the worst states for anything. I wonder if they just tell us that to make us feel bad for leaveing here? Even though we are pretty backwards on somethings I still like living here. I have only one more ice cream bar in the house and I think if it was sitting in front of me I would eat it too. I started last night so hopfully my cravings will go out the window so I can try to get things moving a little faster.
|
Me and Jay just took the pups for a walk. It is windy out there. My left side of my face is frozen. But it makes my mini binge feel better now after work I will try to do another half an hour inside and maybe counter out the effects of the cookies.
I think Louisiana sounds lika a very interesting place. I hope I get to go visit someday. The town we are planning on moving to is where the manatees go for the winter so with any luck our busy times will be during the winter and we can close for a while during the summers for a vacation(In a perfect world that would work out so I hope we can take our time off during the hottest month) Kempy, How much does it cost to cool a house during the summer? I had my oil delivered yesterday and almost died when I saw the bill. We are getting charged $1.85 per gallon!! It has never been that much not to mention whenever we go down below zero we just burn it up like nothing. I would think that the cost of aircxonditioning would at least average out with the cost of heating a house in this kind of cold.(I ask because everyone keeps bringing up the cost of running the air all the time....MIL) I think I am PMS-ing right now. At least I hope so because then I can use it as an excuse. haha What is everyone doing for Valentines Day? I may make lobster with spaghetti and some shrimp cocktails and maybe an upside down cake with strawberries. That sounds pretty good and lowfat. My kids are on vacation AGAIN next week. I guess Brit will be babysitting my neice all week so she will be gone but Corey is grounded so he will be home until Tuesday and then he will probably go to grammies for the rest of the week. Alicia wont leave her bedroom for the week because she is addicted to tv. |
Angie our bills really aren't that bad for the size house we have. Our living area (the part we cool) is 1925 square feet and my electric bill in the summer is about $110. I am on levelized billing so I really only pay $80. But, during the fall and spring when I don't run it as much the actual bill is around $40. We use natural gas so I don't have to get oil delivered. I don't think very many people in the south do. I think most of us are hook up to natural gas lines. I payed $50 for January and that was when we ran the heat the most. I have a gas stove and water heater so we do use more for those things but all in all I don't think the bills are that bad. Don't let people scare you about the bills. I mean if you keep your house like a meat locker in the summer you will ahve a highg bill. You just have to watch what you set your thermastat on. I will bring mine up yo 78 when we leave for the day and then once we are home I will lower it a little. At night though we drop it down to 72.
We are going to a wedding after I get out of school Saturday and then we have to head to Joe's grandparents for a get together. Not really the romantic everning I was wanting. |
Hi Girls
Nice to see the board has been busy. I love days like this. Can you all believe it is almost the middle of Feb.? I can't. I feel kind of embarrassed but I just need to get this off my chest. I went to my therapist/doc and they prescribed me a different med for my panic. I don't know if all of you know that I have it but saying it to you guys makes me feel good. Alot of people in my family just say "get over it" Gosh I wish I could make it dissappear. I am usually good at hiding it. But I consider you guys all of my friends and I know you guys will always listen. Thanks girls. Kempy, The chicken turned out great. I had two different kind of chicken breast frozen in the freezer and they were tiny packages so I made them both, they were honey-mustard and lemon-pepper. Along with rice and veggies. Angie those chocolate covered grahams sound excellent! I could use some chocolate. Isn't weird how we all have pms and are around the same schedule for TOM? We must all be like sisters . Noelle I hear ya on the frozen or canned thing. I would like to make something easy tonight. Maybe a frozen stuffed crust pizza. Yum! Hi everyone else. I have been gone from the kids all morning so they are begging for mama's attention. Gotta love em! Julie |
Geesh Kempy, You guys have it made. Your electric bill is cheaper than mine. During the summer with the pool and the bakery (no air conditioner) my electric bill is $250.00 per month. During the winter it is around $175.00 per month. I am so excited to leave. I cant wait until my house sells. I know that it will take forever because we are so ready to go.
Julie, Hi. Dont feel emberrassed to tell us anything girl. We are here for you through anything. I hope the meds are working well for you.The chicken sounds good. I am having chicken, baked potatoes and corn for supper tonight. I am trying to be good but this damn food is talking to me. Maybe my kids will scarf most of it down tonight so I wont have it in the house. They took most of the m &m's to school today for skiing so I wont have to look at them. Kempy, Have a nice weekend in case I miss you before you are off for the day. Have fun at school. |
Thanks Angie....I think these darn tears are done for the day. Happy thoughts, only thing is the thing that I want to make me happy are the kids leftover cookies from lunch . Luv ya girls
