Welcome to a thread devoted to women who have the priviledge of taking care of our families while winning the battle to control our weight and have better health! Feel free to join right in! We look forward to getting to know you better! :)
|
Hi all!!! Are weather here has been crazy too!!! We were at 70 degrees on Saturday and then Sunday it was miserably cold! Yuck! Hope everyone stays safe and sound through this "Winter Storm". Spring will be here before we know it.
Ds is sick with severe stomach pain and I have to try and get all the laundry done before my helper comes to fold and put away so I can't get personal. Just wanted to say hi! Oh, and Geri, I think that is a great idea with the essential oils for Ginny!!! :) I use them, as you all know, I am very into anything natural and holistic. We use eucalyptus for colds and such and tea tree and lavendar are great antiseptics for any kind of boo boo. My ds was severely burned by a bowl of grits he tried to get out of the microwave last year and after our trip to the hospital, I decided to use a formula in my herb book instead of the silvadene cream they sent. I used aloe, lavendar and vitamin e and when I took him back 2 days later for his dr appt, the dr almost freaked out. He said he had never seen anything like it...it looked fantastic for a 2 day old burn. So, I am all for the essential oils!!! Ok, gonna go. Talk to ya'll later though I don't know if I'll make it back today. |
Candy ... we posted at the same time so I'm copying my post from the last thread....sorry if it's a rerun for some of you ... hope Ds gets better soon!!
Good morning everyone Snowing again this morning. They say we only ended up with 3 inches yesterday but it was blowing around so bad it seems like more. We're supposed to get another 1-2 today but it's really coming on strong and blowing again so we'll see. Supposed to have a reprieve tomorrow and then another small storm on Thursday. Hoping my Mom comes over tomorrow to play with Tony so I can get Will outside for awhile. I'm babysitting a friends 4 1/2 yo boy tomorrow, so they can play together. Andrea, they're plain M&Ms but I had some for you anyway . Glad you enjoyed the breadsticks. Spryng, yes I rested. Tony hasn't been waking up near as much the last 2 nights. Hope it stays that way!! How's Tanner's cold? I watched the news and then Access Hollywood and fell asleep. Gotta catch up on my gossip once in a while. Kills me how they keep saying J-Lo is "alone" ... oh poor baby ... alone with all of her millions!! Maybe she needs to keep her love life out of the papers a little more and she'll find her true love. I personally think she's a publicity hound ... but her movies are cute! Hey Ginny .. good luck with the lavendar! Hope everyone gets home safely before the storm hits. Heard you're in for 6-12" or more Stay safe. Candy, did you get any more work done????? Hi to everyone I may have missed. Gotta go get some stuff done here. Dinner is BLT's... 3 slices of bacon is only 3 pts plus bread and I use the Light Done Right 3-cheese ranch dressing instead of mayo. Not too high in points and very, very tasty!! Hopefully I will be chatting today at 2 if anyone's interested. Bye |
Sorry, Geri!!! :o
|
Hello again!
Well I am getting alot done today. I guess my lazy day yesterday paid off because today I'm brimming with energy. My house is clean now and I'm ready to pop in my pilates dvd if I get a moment. Andrea, I know what you mean about getting a good nights sleep. I require at least 8 hours of sleep if not more. So my kids go down about 9 pm and I try to crash about 9:30 - 10 pm. I do stay up to 11 every now and then and I feel it in the morning. My Dh can run on nothing as far as sleep goes but I need my rest. Plus extra sleep helps the body burn fat better so what better motivation do I need? lol. Geri, Tanner is doing much better. His nose is still runny but I give him that night time formula at night now and he doesn't wake up once. It's nice. I love Access Hollywood and all those celebrity entertainment news shows. And I agree about J-lo. Ben Affleck was mine first anyway, lol, so she never deserved him  BLT's sound great! I can't remember the last time I had one. I may have to have some next week. I'll add that to my list. And I plan to chat at 2 also... Ricci and I were there yesterday. Candy I hope your ds gets better! And enjoy your helper. I could use one around here every now and then. Well, I guess I should find something else to do before my energy leaves me. TTYL! |
I'll post a quickie so we get this thread back on the top of the list!!
Spryng, LOVE the fact that Ben is yours!! Hee hee!! BLTs are great 'cause it feels like you're cheating but you're not!! TTYL |
What's the name of the night time stuff your're using for Tanner...keep forgetting to ask you and I want to get some before I need it! Thanks
|
It's called... Triacting Night Time it's the equate brand at walmart. It comes in grape flavor (purple box) So you can either get the equate version or the triaminic which costs a couple of dollars more, they are both for night time relief. And yes, I have a list of celebrity men that are mine, and yet they keep cheating on me with undeserving women, lol. But I guess I've been cheating on them for years too. ROFL!!! O-well, at least Ben is single again :)
Oh and Missy I have a ton of WW recipes. In fact check out some here http://groups.msn.com/MomslosingWeight on the left side of the page you will see recipes, click that and those are some we have all posted on this site before and Candy has saved for us. But we love to share our recipes! |
Thanks!! Chat with you later.
|
Boy- has it been busy here today!!!!!!! I am still here 1/3 of my monsters are home- the ones that I drive that is!!!! The big crowd awaits me- the elementary kritters- and I will probably encounter some snow/freezing rain during that drive. So, I just go slowly........ya get there when ya get there, right???
Candy- thanks for starting the new thread. Ihope that Ds's tummy ache calms down- try some cammomile tea for that. There is a stomach bug up here that is fast and furious- hopefully Ds does not have that and this is just a mild bug. Geri- so you are plagued by white stuff too?????! Those BLT's sound good- I ought to do that sometime! (I serve them to my family but usually have a lower points option that night.....maybe I should give in!) Spryng- want to share some of that energy??? Hope you got all the straightening up done that you wanted to and got your workout in. Still sore from the Pilates tummy workout???? Is it that good? Well, I want to go to ebay- I broke my favorite mug this am and want to see if I can replace it there....Sorry if I missed anyone-Andrea, Jackie.....Missy- brain dead me, I am forgetting names! See you later! Ginny |
Hello everyone.
I hope all of you are making it through the cold and snow alright. The wind chill here is -8. The schools were on two hour delay. Next year when Eric is in school, I don't know if he will be going when the weather is like this. Oh, before I forget, Andrea, I am pretty sure the killer is Marlena. we will find out tomorrow. It sounds like everyone is doing great. My kids are at the tail end of their cold, and now I think I am getting it again. Fun. Spryng, just so you know, we are having jambalya (sp) for dinner. Its really good. I hope you all have a good day. |
Good afternoon!
I am so sorry I missed the chat today!!! The kids went down at 1 pm and I laid on the bed writing in my journal and the next thing I knew I was waking up when Tanner woke up a few minutes ago. I really did intend to chat, but I guess I was tired and didn't even know it. But it felt good. Ricci I love jambalaya!!! Do you put the sausage in it? Mmmmm... I wonder if I can find a low pt recipe for that. I'll have to check that out. Ginny, hope the roads aren't too bad for you. But I know if they are you will be careful.. you are that kind of woman :) I think I should move up there just so my kids can ride your bus! :) And yes I got my full workout in... the butt and thigh segments. They were intense but not too intense... I'm sure I'll be feeling sore from them tomorrow. And yes my abs are still sore, they get worse as the day goes on. You wouldn't think that a 10 minute workout would do that, but it did. But I still need to find some cardio to do also. I really want a treadmill, really really bad. Did you find you mug on ebay? I love that place. I don't go there too often anymore but I used to be so addicted. Well... I ate my leftovers from last night for lunch today so now I need to find something else to make me for dinner. Guess I'll go snooping through my pantry. TTYL! |
Does everyone here do WW? What are the basic princliples of WW? I just kind of watch what I eat and try to find the motivation to exercise. Has everyone been pretty successful using WW? Do you think its something you can do the rest of your life? I'm interested in trying.
I'm going to put my kids to bed in a little bit and then hit the treadmill for 30 mins since I skipped the gym today. Then I'm going to iron the laundry, which for some reason I find so relaxing, maybe because its a mindless task. Candy, I'm sorry to hear about the stomach bug, my whole family seemed to have it during the holidays. Wasn't too pleasant. Both my kids have a little cold right now, mainly just runny noses, I think its so lovely when my DD wipes her nose on my shirt, then points at it and says" Boogie, mama", yeah, thanks Reina. |
Lori, that is so funny about your dd wiping her nose on you. :) My kids do that too or I see them doing it to the couch and I have to remind them that we do have tissue, lol. O-well... they are only young once. And no, not everyone here does WW but some are currently on it. The basic principles of WW is to incorporate normal food into your life, you are deprived of nothing that way you succeed because you don't feel like you are missing out on your favorite foods. You get so many "points" a day and you stick to that number and you will lose weight. I have been on it since september and I feel like I have been pretty succesful at it. I have been on just about every kind of diet out there, low fat, high protein/low carb, food combining, fiber diets, pills, slimfast, etc... and I wasn't too sure about this one but Ginny had been on it for about 6 months at that time and was doing great and loving what she ate so she got me started and here I am today! I've never stuck with a "diet" more than 2 weeks before and I've now been on WW for 4 months and I still love this plan. And yes, it is definitely one I can do for the rest of my life. At first you may have to adjust to counting "points" instead of calories but it soon becomes second nature. But you can go to the WW site and take their tour and see what you think. Post on their message boards and get some feedback from ones who have been on it for awhile now. You can join 3 ways, by attending their meetings, joining WW online, or they have a WW at home kit you can buy from their site. Or (a 4th way too) get on ebay and buy your materials and then do it on your own at home. That is what I do. I don't pay for meetings or online... I have the materials and I do it on my own at home. But don't let us pressure you into WW, lol. All diets are welcome on the thread, we are a group of stay at home mom's and it doesn't matter how we are getting the weight off as long as we support one another :) I admire you for thinking ironing is relaxing, lol. I hate laundry and everything that comes with it. I hope you got some done and you get a great nights sleep. What is the time difference over there?
Well I ended up finding a box of chicken helper for dinner tonight. It was chicken fried rice, and was only 4 pts per serving so not too bad and it tasted fine. But I really need to get to the store tomorrow. My cupboards are so bare it isn't funny. I guess I'll chat with you later! |
Hey Ladies!
Spryng thanks for the recipes. I will definitely check them out. I am in need BIG TIME! I wish you could have seen me trying to figure out just what to eat today. LOL! And I am glad J-Lo and Ben broke up as well. She broke it off with him apparently because he doesn't want to commit. I mean she's been married twice already.. sheesh! And Ben, I used to like him now he annoys me. He should have never let Gwyenth Paltrow get away.. too late now she's married and pregnant with Chris Martin (ColdPlay lead singer). I am happy for her. I LOVE Gwyenth! Anyway, I love the HollyWood Gossip. Does anyone watch E! ? LOL! I do.. I watched part of the Golden Globes.. boy did Charlie Theron look fantastic. Wish I could get my body to look like that.. she's way taller than me though.. I am only 5'4. Alsbttrfly WW is pretty easy. It's a point system based on your weight. Check out www.weightwatchers.com. And yes, you can do it for life but you probably will not need to because weight watchers teaches you portion control. And it doesn't restrict you from eating any kinds of foods as long as you stay within your point range. Hey someone said they would tell me what WW Flexpoint System was.. I think it was Spryng.. anyway.. someone let me know what it is.. I am interested because I have the WW @ Home Winning Points thing.. it's kinda old but still usable.. I had grilled cheese and Campbells chicken and dumplings for dinner. DH is making his own dinner.. gives me a break.. well I better go.. the little one needs to eat HIS dinner and I need to get some time in on my treadmill. Have a good nite ladies! |
Missy, yes it was me who said I would explain the flexpoint system to you. Ok, instead of point ranges like you get on winning points you get a point target for each day (if I knew your weight I could tell you what it is) and there is no more banking points, instead you get 35 flexpoints to use through out the week as you wish. You can use them all at once or spread them out... on whatever you like. I use all of mine on the weekends. And there is no more limits on AP's, you can earn as many as you like and you can eat all of them, but the catch is you have to eat them the day you earn them... can't save them. That is it in a nutshell. Oh and your flexpoints roll over on your Weigh In day. If you have any more questions let me know... here are the target points for different weights -
more than 350- 34 325-349 = 33 300-324 = 32 275-299 = 31 250-274 = 30 225-249 = 28 200-224 = 26 175-199 = 24 150-174 = 22 less than 150 = 20 hope that helps! |
Boy, have I missed out on a lot today!!
Spryng, I have the chicken fried rice helper on my counter waiting to be used. I wasn't sure how many points it was. (I haven't tried to figure it yet) Did you make it without the fat? Was it 4 pts for 1 cup? Maybe I'll try it tomorrow. Ricci, about Days, I tried paying attention to when I saw the killer and who was there and who wasn't. You think it's Marlena? Why? Do you think she has a split personality or something? I still don't know. I guess we will find out tomorrow! Who else watches it? Is it Geri or Ginny or both? I can't remember. Does anyone else have an opinion? Well my kids are splashing water all in the floor, so I'd better go and check on them. Talk back at ya tonight. |
Hi,
Yes, spryng, we put sausage in ours. I can only eat a serving of it though, and put the rest away or I will eat the whole box. It is soooooo good. Andrea, I am probraly waaaaaaaaay off about it being Marlena. She has just been acting so weird the past few days on the show. I am excited that the person will be revealed tomorrow. Missy, I watch E all the time. I like watching the fashion police. And the red carpet before the award shows. I sometimes wonder what the stars were thinking when they got dressed. My own examples : Sharon Stone, and Nicole Kidman. Nicole usually is so well dressed. I thought she looked bad the other night. And Sarah Jessica Parker. Any way, thats just me. Well, I hope you all have a good evening. Hi to Geri, Ginny, Candy, Jackie, Lori and anyone else I missed. |
HI
I love to watch the award shows to see what they think fashion is ... apparently, it's showing your breasts  I agree Ricci that Nicole Kidman looked horrible!! I really didn't like Charlize Theron's dress either. Kind of looked like a slip to me. Gosh, she is GORGEOUS though isn't she??? I watch Days on and off. I missed most of it today due to Finding Nemo. :D I have no clue who it is and I hope I remember to turn it on tomorrow! I will have my friend's son here too. BTW, I was all alone in the chat room this afternoon :comp: I had to entertain myself  I got to play around with my font and colors  I know how it goes ... things come up ... but I was so LONELY :( I just took a nice lavendar bath to de-stress ... it was very nice but I fear the only thing that will de-stress me is TOM to appear. This PMS crap is for the birds!! (my eating has been horrible this week too) Oh yes, MILs dog is gone (woo hoo) and Will got all snuggly with me tonight probably to make up for all the screaming at him to leave the darn dog alone for the last 2 hours!! Sorry to not get personal with everyone, but my brain's mush!! Time for bed. Talk to you tomorrow. |
Good evening all!
Geri I am so sorry you were all alone in the chat room. I really did intend to be there... I just drifted off. So hopefully tomorrow I will be there. And I know what you mean about PMS. I never was bothered by it much until I had this IUD put in, and now it aggravates the symtpoms so I feel crabby and bloated and all those nice things, lol. But I'm getting used to it now. My period was actually shorter this month! So maybe they will finally go away soon. (that is a side effect of Mirena) Ricci, sounds like your dinner went great. And I am with you, Jambalaya is so good and I can eat bowl after bowl of it. Andrea, yes I made the chicken helper without the fat ( I already had cooked chicken breasts in my freezer so I didn't need the oil at all ) and I didn't include the eggs so that cut it down alot. And yes it was 4 pts for 3/4 of a cup. But it was tasty and quick, which is nice. You should go to this site and download the points calculator for your computer. http://www.stormlakeonline.com/piggy/wwtools.html It stays on your desktop so you can use it anytime. Very handy. That site has other nice WW tools also. Well my evening has went fine. Watched American Idol again... I'm addicted. Can't wait to see tomorrow night. But I'm ready for the auditions to be over and the show to really start. I did very well OP today, drank 10 glasses of water (which I never do, I'm lucky to get in 6) did my workouts, lifted my weights, stayed at my target. I'm very pleased with myself. I always hit my target and never go over but I seldom drink enough water or get in my exercise. So I am really trying to do better. I guess I will get off here for tonight. I hope everyone has had a great relaxing evening and sleeps well! G'nite! |
Ricci, I have NO clue either. It's fun to try and figure it out! I love the suspense!
Spryng, thanks for the info!! I will do that. I'm going to cook the chicken rice tomorrow. I agree with Nichole Kidman not looking so good. Her hair looked thin or something. Geri, I def. agree with you on the breast thing. They think the more breasts the better the dress. Makes me SICK!!! In my book, some things are left only for husbands, not for the whole world to look at. Anyway, they are prob. only that "perky" cause they've had surgery!!! lol. Well, I'd better head of to bed, it's getting late. TTYL!! |
Thanks ladies for all the info on WW. I'm going to check out the website after this.
Ricci, I totally agree with you on Nicole, what was she thinking. I also think that J-Lo needs to use a little less bronzer, its January for goodness sake!! I lost a pound this week!! Yay!! I guess it made up for the lb I gained last week. I started using my treadmill again and I'm on a program that will having me running for 30 mins straight in 10 weeks. I used to be an okay runner before the kids but have since lost all endurance. Oh, well. Spryng, how do you like the Mirena? I'm thinking about getting one. |
Good morning all!
I don't watch Days of our lives but I was watching the news this morning and they are going to be interviewing the serial killer tomorrow on their show and the journalist talking about said "him" and then corrected herself with a him or her... so maybe it's a man?? I guess you will all know today :) I guess I am a little different on the "breast" issue. I don't mind it when they wear revealing clothes, lol. I say if you have it show it before it's gone  of course not every celebrity has it to show it in the first place and yet they do anyway. Lori, Congrats on the lb lost!!!! That is great! What kind of treadmill do you have? And yes I like the Mirena. It has really messed my cycles up at first but things are starting to get better. Before Mirena I was a 7 day girl... then after getting it put in place I bled for 3 weeks solid every month for a few months... it was light but still, 3 weeks is a long time, then it went down to 2 weeks, and this last time it was only 10 days, so it's slowly but surely getting better. But that is normal for the first year of use. After a year I should either stop getting them all together or they will only come a few times a year and be really light. Sounds good to me. I do like knowing I don't have to think about birth control and that I can't get pregnant for at least 5 years. My first two are 11 months apart... so not having to worry is great. Well the snow and ice should all melt today so I am re-doing my grocery list and going shopping. It will be nice to get out of the house for a while also. I'm thinking of doing morningstar farms burgers tonight for dinner with fries. Anyone else know what they are having? Ginny, can't wait to hear about your WI!! Mine is two days away and I'm getting excited too. Well I'll talk to you all later! |
Good morning!
We have upwards of 10" of snow out there, so school is closed. Today should be a quiet day- my 2 oldest have midterms and should be studying- and Dd is just happy not to be in school!v It was sort of nasty driving the rest of my critters home last night- although thankfully the storm had not hit yet. I did get up early with Dh to shovel out the driveway so that he could get out. Finishing off the driveway and the deck will serve as my AP's today! ;) Lori- WW is a great program, the beauty of it is that you can eat anything you like, as long as you have counted the points and it fits in your points range. No denial.....and there is tons of support and literature out there on the plan. Plus, with the way the points system works it encourages healthy eating- two foods with the same calories per serving can be very different in points, depending upon the fiber and fat content. (high fiber and lower fat reduces points). Good luck and congrats on the 1#! Spryng- drive safely ok? Hope the ice melts and that you can get to the store. There is something fun about the cook with what is in the house days- but nice to break it up with some new treats! I know you were looking foward to that. Oh- for me no WI this week. First of all TOM showed up, but the real reason is that this week with midterms my mid day 41/2 hour break is gone (have to pick up the HS kids at noon) and it leaves little time to get out to a meeting. So I elected last week to just take this week off. Doubt there is a meeting anyway with the snow! Andrea- did you try the chicken fried rice helper?????? Is that available in the store? How was it? Sounds interesting! Missy- hope you got your treadmill time in! I am on WW too (might be the only one here who is attending meetings, though so if anyone has a really tough or off the wall question I am happy to take that to a meeting for you!). Flexpoints are really not much different than winning points. (sorry Spryng if I am redundant). One thing I must add- for some (I am one) having all those flex points is a bit odd- I do better if I give myself some flex points each day-and save some. I am just more comfortable with a daily points range, as opposed to a single goal. But that is just me! Ricci- your kids on normal schedule today?????? Gee, it must be cold where you are. Did you get any snow? Geri- ah, I can smell that lavender bath.........actually, I put on some lavender spray that I had here this am! Glad the dog is gone- for your sake! Hey, yesterday I was logged on to chat at 2:45- thought that just maybe I would catch someone there early. Sorry I missed you!!!!!!!! Gotta go take care of some business online. Enjoy your day! Ginny |
Good morning! Sorry I missed the chat yesterday. I don't think I will ever make it on Tuesdays as long as I have my laundry helper. She gets out of school at 3:10pm so by the time I get back from picking her up, you guys are done. Oh well. I'll try to make it today.
Lori, congrats on the 1 lb down! I really want a treadmill but have no room for it so I am making due with my gazelle. It does an ok job but I can't really get my heart rate up where it needs to be. I try to jump on the trampoline before doing it and that seems to help. Anyhows, I'm sure you'll do great on your program. Just remember you might start gaining more muscle so the scale might not accurately reflect your weight loss! Well, I didn't see any of the stars to comment on them and I don't do soaps. Dinner...hmmm...last night they had blackeyed peas and ham over rice. I had blackeyed peas and cabbage. It was good. I was going to have a salad too but my stomach was upset so I just settled with that. I don't know about tonight now. Anyone know how to make a pizza crust like Pizza Hut's thin and crispy? I love it but I haven't been able to duplicate it. Do you think they use yeast at all? The pizza crust I REALLY love is Sam's. They make the best pizza. Ok, I am not having pizza tonight so I will just change the subject now! Well, I have lots to do so I am gonna get off here. TTYL!!! Hope everyone has a great day! |
OOPS, Ginny, we were posting at the same time. Glad you guys all made it home safely. What my kids wouldn't do to see some snow! Sorry we missed you yesterday. Let us know if you need us to change the time. I think most of us are pretty flexible. Hope you have a nice, quiet day!!! Have fun shoveling! :)
|
Good morning everyone
There is hope for the future!! I have my gf 4 yo here today. Gives me hope that in a while my kids will play together and not depend on me so much!! I really have very little time for myself during the day... you all remember that don't you?? or are experiencing the same now?? :dizzy: He's here until noon. Then Mom's stopping over sometime this afternoon so I don't know if I'll make the chat or not today...but I'll try ;) Thanks Candy....now I'm hungry for pizza :tape: We're having whole wheat spaghetti tonight. I love the flavor of the noodles. Dh and Ds love it too. I never buy regular spaghetti noodles anymore. Of course they're much more expensive, but oh well. Ginny-enjoy your day off. It was originally going to be in the mid 20's today so I thought we'd get outside this afternoon. We'll we're heading for the deep-freeze again and it won't make it out of the teens. Since I don't have snowpants for myself that's out. Next year I'm getting some. Spryng, you know I'm just jealous that the stars can show their boobs off like that ... mine have never even been close to that-not that I would feel comfortable showing them off! Enjoy your trip out of the house...I've been stuck here for about 1.5 days so far. Feels like a week  Lori, congrats on the 1 lb loss!! That's terrific. I need to get back on the old treadmill myself. I don't run though :D ds is fussing for a bottle. hi to everyone i missed. ttyl |
Thank God...TOM just showed up. I can get back to normal...Dh will be pleased!!
|
Sorry I missed you too, Candy! How sweet of you to offer to change the chat. This week is very atypical for me, as I am usually on the road from 1:45- almost 5pm when I get home. But to give lots of warning-tomorrow at around 9:30-10 am EST I could chat. Anyone interested? Sam's pizza is good?? I will have to give it a try. I have a bread machine cookbook with lots of recipes- want me to check for a thin pizza crust?
Geri- ah, the relief of TOM! At least I get rid of that raging hormone feeling- and actually welcome the other discomforts. Hope you are feeling ok! Funny, how nice it is when a child has a friend over and they are sort of on automatic pilot. Some friends are like that- others it is way too much like work!!! And then you feel guilty because they play together too well and need so little input.......the joys of motherhood! I am having a really balanced 3 point lunch....a can of V8.....ok, that is healthy and a bag of Orville Redenbacher's 94% fat free popcorn! Ok, I am nuts- just had to do something off the wall today. Gotta go shovel.......see ya later! Ginny |
Hey Ladies,
Spryng, Thanks for the info on the FlexPoints. Not sure if I will do it yet but thanks a lot for the information. Omg, was American Idol funny or what last night! LOL! I was running on the treadmill and almost fell off I was laughing so hard while watching American Idol. The guys were TERRIBLE. And the one guy they let through was just okay in my opinion. And what about the strange looking chick she has very short curly bronze hair ? Oh my goodness and her "friend" made her sing in front of security to the camera.. she made a fool of herself. And the sad thing is that she didn't realize that Paula was being nice saying it sounded like Caberet. I have heard Caberet and it doesn't sound like that at all. That girl sounded like 2 cats fighting over their last meal.. LOL! It's hard to believe some of these people actually believe they can sing. Needtoloosemore, What was going on with Sharon Stone's hair ? UGH! And my goodness.. Nicole Kidman looked like a deranged greek goddess... I couldn't stand anything about her look.. even the make-up was a little off. She's usually stunning. I think she is very pretty but not sure what happened last night. Hey and why doesn't Tom Cruise ever bring his girlfriend Penelope Cruz anywhere ? I used to love him now I can't stand him either. Back to Nicole: This time she's fallen from grace. The sad thing is that she is so pale and she wore that sheer pale white cover over the middle and sides and I think she may have thought it blended but it just looked like she has worn out white gauze over her chest.. okay I am as bad as Joan with the comments. LOL! I don't like Sarah Jessica Parkers look at all. Never have..even on Sex and the City. I can't understand what all the hype is with her "look" because most of the time she looks bad to me. On occassion she does have her moments. But usually I just don't like it. I know people will want to stone me but I have never thought Sarah was even pretty. Only thing I can every remember liking about her look was her hair when she wore it blonde and long and wavy/curly.. crinkly I guess you could call it. I thought that became her a great deal. I love her husband though, Matthew Brodrick and their baby is a cutie! Chubba, awwwwww you didn't like Charlize's dress.. I though she looked nice. But she usually carries anything nicely because she so gorgeous. I liked her hair and her boyfriend (hee hee). I can't think of his name but I know he played Lestat in Queen of the Damned. I have seen him in something else.. I think it was A League of Extraordinary Gentleman.. I think he's attractive. Albuttrfly, Congrats on the weight loss!!!!!!! YEAH!!! I hated J-LO's look. The orange dress and the airbrushed heavy bronzer and orange tint lipstick looked horrid. She looked like a cooked jackolatern. UGH! I didn't mind her hair that much though. I thought it was okay. I though the color of it was interesting. ECMOM, yup! Got my treadmill time in while watching American Idol and almost fell off laughing so hard! Hee hee! Everyone, I thought Debra Mesing looked nice for being a mom to be. Very elegant. I remember when Catherine Zeta Jones was pregnant and she came to the awards now she was stunning pregnant.. Does anyone watch America's Top Model with Tyra Banks ? Last night was one disaster after another... Hey did anyone see the clip for the Britney Spears, Beyonce', and Pink PEPSI commercial ? It's supposed to be on during the SuperBowl. They are all Gladiator women that team together. Bet they are getting paid a truck load of money. Beyonce' already got a 50 million dollar contract out of Pepsi for her contract with them.. WOWSA! See told you all I like celebrity gossip.. LOL! |
Hello again!
Ginny would that be 8:30-9:00 central tomorrow morning? I can be there! And your lunch sounds just fine, lol. Enjoy! Geri, I am so happy that you are happy about TOM, lol. I'm like that with my pms, I know that as soon as I start then I feel better. And about those celebs showing off their boobs... well I am with you there. If I was 18 and childless again I could get by with revealing clothes and such, but even then I was very modest and now after 3 kids I will never show anything to anyone (well except DH of course) It's funny how when I was young I hated my body and now I look back and think, HEY! I was HOT! LOL  If I had that body back I would run naked through walmart and enjoy it! lol. Candy, I love black eye peas. I've never had them with cabbage though. But I love cabbage too so I'm sure it's good. :) Did you get alot done with your helper yesterday? Well getting out of the house for a couple of hours felt great. I think the kids needed it too because they were great at the store. So tonight I'm making morningstar farms burgers and french fries! I also bought a bag of morningstar farms crumbles to use in place of ground beef in spaghetti tomorrow night. I'll have to find out how that changes the point value though. But so far I really love thier products. Well I need to get off of here. TTYL! |
Spryng, LOL !!!NAKED THROUGH WAL*MART HUH ? I won't be showing any boobs off now that I am a mom unless it's cleavage.. that I can't help since I am just "blessed" that way but some of these dresses are over the top and don't need to be... Even some of these women that have children still wear their chest popping out.
You can dress nice and with class without your chest out. Catherine Zeta Jones does it and she looks nice. And she has 2 little ones. Glad to hear your store trip went well. I have had the MorningStar sausage before and it's pretty good. I forgot about it though. Guess I will get some this week and make something with it. I have to come chat with you all sometime.. Check you all later. |
Missy, you are too funny. I love celebrity gossip, and all that. My husband will be watching tv with me, and I will spew off some fact that I learned on E! He just gives me weird stare. Try not to fall off of your tread mill tonight. The previews for tonights Idol look really good in a bad way.
Andrea, I can't belive I was actually right about the killer. It is Marlena, or at least her evil twin. Can't wait to see how that all plays out. Well, to those of you who were in the chat room, it was fun talking to all of you. I check in there at odd times of the day to see if any one is in there. Have a good evening all. |
Ricci, I am stunned! When today's episode started I was watching Marlena and thought she was acting funny. I'm just still in shock! She has always been the "good one" out of the bunch. I curious to see how this one plays out too. Good for you picking the serial killer!!!!
I want to post more, but am way to tired. I need to go fix supper. With TOM coming and DH gone, I wiped out!! I'll check back in this evening when the kids are in bed!TTYL!! |
Hey there!!! Hope everyone is having a good evening. Missy, hope you are alive and well after watching Idol!!! :D I didn't catch any of it. We watched King of the Jungle on Animal Planet. Kids love that channel. It was pretty entertaining. I did my gazelle for a bit while watching so I got a little excercise in. That in addition to the grocery shopping and putting away has done me in to today.
Geri, glad TOM has come. As miserable as he makes us, he is a welcome sight in most cases!!! And I completely understand what you are saying about the kiddos. Mine are 4 and 2 (almost 5 and 3) now and it is much easier than when they were younger. They have gotten to a point where they can play a little on their own w/o me and it is nice. You will get there. Probably another year or so. Ginny and Spryng, I will try to come chat tomorrow morn if I remember. I'm fixin' to turn in now so I can get up early to work. I got my W-2 and I averaged 33 hours a week! Amazing. I don't know how because it seemed I was always struggling just to make my 32 hours. I can sure think of 100 million things I'd rather do with those 33 hours!!! If I would quit spending money, maybe I could quit working. Internet shopping is going to be the death of me. So, how was everyone's dinner? We had salad with romaine and baby greens, carrots, black olives, avocado and alalfa sprouts and pizza bread (a nice thick bread with cheese, no sauce) which I found in the freezer section of Walmart today and spinach and cheese stuffed mushrooms, a recipe I found in my dehydrator book though I didn't use rehydrated spinach, I used frozen. It was all really good. I am really excited about trying out new recipes. So far, so good. Well, I'm off to bed. Hope everyone had a great evening. TTYL! |
I hope all of you are enjoying your evening! :D
I cooked the chicken fried rice tonight and loved it!! My neighbors came over and helped me eat it! Alex really liked it too. Andrew is a bit more picky and I had some hot dogs in the freezer, I don't hardly ever fix those for the kids b/c of the nitrates, and that's what he had for supper. My friend called me from Fayeteville and wants to come spend the night the 2nd wk of Feb. She has 2 kids but will only be bringing 1. I'm sooo excited!! I haven't seen her in a while and we used to visit every other month. :) So, what did everyone else have for supper? Candy, your supper sounded good! Sometimes a good salad really hits the spot for me. :D BTY, I remember hearing you say something about looking for homeschooling material. I don't know what religon you are, but the ABEKA program is really great! It is a christian based cirr. It is very colorful and they really learn a lot. You may already be familiar with them or not interested, but I thought I would throw that ya anyway. :) That is what I used for Andrew for kind. I was VERY pleased. Spryng, let me know how the morning star beef stuff turns out. I almost bought it the other day. I hear ya with the before children body. I was 120 before kids and wouldn't wear a bikini cause I thought my stomach was too fat!!!! Isn't that crazy! If I ever get into the 120's again, I will think I am soooo hot!! Missy, I def. agree with you on Catherine Zeta Jones. She is one classy lady. She dresses like a lady. I have a lot of respect for her in that department. Lori, hope you are doing well. My cousin and his family lived in Germany for about 3 yrs. He just came home last July. It was so good to see them. My prayers are with you. I know it can't be easy. Geri, I hope you are feeling better. I have a love hate relationship with TOM! Right now I wish he would hurry up and come. I will have to say, the scale has been good to me. I usually gain 2-3 lbs. before and I weighed this morning and it is still 159.5. But then I wonder, is it going to come? I may have made a boo boo this month if you know what I mean! :o Ginny, I need you to pass some of the lavender my way! I need some kind of destresser after the day I had with my kids!! Ricci, I'm still in shock about Marlena! Well, I'd better get off and go to bed! TTYL! |
Good evening ladies!!
I was going to start a new thread, but then I would never have remembered what anyone said. Candy, another year or so  OK I can handle that!! Glad you're enjoying your new way of eating. Are you feeling any better because of it? Andrea and Ricci, for a second there I thought maybe it was Lexi!! The white coat threw me since Marlena hardly ever is seen in a lab coat. I still think it's Marlena's evil twin sister since her face looked just a little fresher. Didn't her actual twin just have a face lift? I thought someone posted that a while back. We'll have to wait and see. Spryng, since you watch GH .... so how is it that Rick Lansing could kidnap Carly and plan to steal her unborn child and now become the DA (or whatever it is he is)???????????? Only on a soap!! Now it appears all I do all day is watch soaps ... only now and then. You know you can skip a few years and catch up in a week  . Missy, LOVE you celeb gossip opinions. How can you hear your TV over the treadmill? Is mine just loud??? I can't hear it at all unless it's really blasting. Ricci, my Dh can't belive I pay any attention to that stuff either. He can't stand it. Ginny, hope you don't have to shovel too much!! It is good for AP though!! Did I miss anyone?? Hope not. When Dh came home from work I told him about TOM by preceding it with "don't make any of your MAN comments that will just P*** me off ..." so of course he did. Men! :p I told him I have no control over my emotions during PMS and that I was sorry if I hurt his feelings (but wanted to add "so toughen up already" ). BTW, Will was 200% more well behaved without MILs dog in the house. :) Well, I missed Idol tonight. Went grocery shopping instead and damn is it cold outside!! Wind chills below zero tonight ... possible to -25. Keep warm out there!! I must stop eating this week. I'm afraid to step on the scale. :o I've been very, very bad. Sorry I missed the chat. Laid down with Will while Tony took his cat nap hoping we'd all sleep. Tony was the only one who got his 30 minutes in. Will wouldn't let me sleep. I don't know if I'll make it in the morning, but I'll try. That's usually when I get some cleaning/laundry done and the house sure needs it, or when Tony's ready for his cereal and fruit breakfast meal. Gotta go! Have a great night. |
Andrea, we posted at the same time.....I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and TOM!!!! Hope your day with the kids goes better tomorrow.
