Hello everyone,
Spryng, congrats on losing all that weight. I can't wait until I am in the 130's. I can't wait until I am in the 140's. I did buy some new jeans two weeks ago with a g.c. I got for Christmas, and they are a size ten, which I haven't been since 1999. A little loose in the waist and butt, but too soon for an 8. Candy, I was also 125 when I got married, but I will settle for anything in the 130's. Well, I don't know exactly what I did, but I hurt my back really bad. I haven't been able to sit upright for the past two days, which is why I haven't been on here. Finally feels better today. I need to get out the heating pad again, so hopfully it will be all better tomorrow. I am going to go help my mom clean her basement. If I had any advice on potty training boys, I would give it. However I am in the process of potty training my 3 yr old. Soooo frustrating. If any one can help me too, it would be greatly appriciated. I have tried books, making him go every hour, watching dad and big brother, etc. Hope everyone has a good weekend. |
Hey Ricci,
Hope your back gets better really soon! Glad you were able to get up today. Boys are in bed ... me too. TTYL. |
Hey gals! Well, landclearing guys came and gave us a price that seems really reasonable so that looks good. Geri, here's the link to my plans: http://details.coolhouseplans.com/de...dID=1&sid=chp1
As for potty training, I think each kid has to do it when they are ready. I started working on both mine when they were 14 months old. My DS was potty trained by 2 1/2 and my DD was potty trained by 2. And Geri, my son preferred to sit down. He even knew how to hold his little weewee (???) down and everything. Now he stands though. He started that all on his own. When he was potty trained, he was potty trained. No accidents, no pull-ups at night. My DD on the other hand, has frequent accidents and still wears a diaper at night and always peepees in it. This may sound gross but it is what worked for me, I would let them run around naked for a few hours and they would almost always run for the potty when they had to go because they didn't want anything running down their legs. My dd got on the toilet and peepeed at 16 months because she didn't have a diaper on. Anyhows, Ricci, hope your back gets to feeling better. I know it stinks not being able to do what you want to do. Hopefully, it is just a pulled muscle and the heat and rest will get you all fixed up. Well, I'm gonna go. Just wanted to check in. Talk to ya'll later!!! |
Geri, I just saw your album over on the sight! Your kids are sooo cute and you are a pretty lady yourself! I really enjoyed seeing them, thanks for posting them.
I've posted a few pictures from vacation that my mom had taken on her digital camera. My mom titled each of the pictures so the ones that say "Dad" are my dad and then DH's dad is one. And no, I do not think I look like a model! You'll see what I mean. Check 'um out. http://groups.msn.com/MomslosingWeight TTLY! |
Just a quick note...I LOVE all of the pictures at Candy's site. I'm going to figure out how to log on. I love putting a face to ya'll! I will try to figure out how to put my family on there soon.
Well, we had a great day yesturday! My friend and her husband loved the plane ride and dh was happy that no one got sick!! (we ate mexican for supper) Well, I'm missing church today b/c I need to wash clothes and get dh ready to leave tomorrow. I will check back in with ya'll later today. Everyone have a great Sunday!!!! |
Hi!
I am back, minus computer woes. I left a post on the old thread last nite about potty training. Maybe tomorrow when I have more time I will paste it in here. But I will add (as someone already did) that each child trains at his/her own pace. With my 3, 2 trained at under2 1/2, and one at just over 3. And my son was the youngest- go figure!!! But I know lots of families who had the most difficulty with boys. Hope everyone had a good weekend. Gotta go! See ya tomorrow. Ginny |
Good evening all!
Just got home. Boy I feel like I have been going non-stop since friday. Thankfully tomorrow all I have to do is buy some groceries and then stay HOME!!! lol. SIL is coming for dinner tomorrow night. I'm going to be making that rosemary chicken with white beans for her. I really love it too. How was everyone's weekend? Sorry I'm not getting personal tonight. DS (3 yo) is in the tub and we are all winding down for the day and I want to go and relax awhile. I'll chat with you ladies tomorrow. G'nite! |
G'morning!!!!!!!!
I tried to post earlier......the site was down. And now no real time to post, as I have to go to work. School is on a 2 hour delay because of some light snow. So, it is off to drive the gang I go. Got my WAP tape done this am, did not feel like sliding on the white stuff. Sorry I can't get personal right now. Gotta go. Have a great day!!!! BTW- anyone heard from Jen???? It has been a long time since she posted. I miss her and Michele too!!!! (Jackie, hon, you still lurking out there???) See ya! Ginny |
Good Morning Everyone!
I got Dh off this morning around 3 a.m. He drove to Memphis and had to be there at 8 a.m. I'm going to miss him this wk, but I'm glad we are getting this over with. Our BIL's parents offered Dh a room to stay in at their house. So, that saved us $1500 over the next 2 mo. in hotel costs. (the company doesn't pay the costs for training) Anyway, I'm very tired and my little one is still asleep. He had a hard time going to bed last night. I think he must have sensed something going on. My neighbor took Andrew to school this morning so I wouldn't have to wake Alex up. It comes in handy to have some of your best friends as neighbors! :D Ginny, I'm glad your computer is working again. I hated when Dh took mine with him last time he was out of town. We get attached to those things! Spryng, I'm glad you had a good time shopping and hope you have a quiet restful day at home. ;) Candy, are you finished with your week of the raw veg. diet? I bet that first bite of cooked food sure did taste good!!! I'm proud of you for sticking it out! I don't know if I could have done it!! :dizzy: Ricci, I sure do hope your back gets to feeling better! It must be hard to take care of the kids when your in pain. Hi Geri! Hope you're having a good day! :) If I missed anyone, I'm sorry. I'm running on half a tank this morning. Going to take a bath! TTYL! :D |
Hi!
I'm back again & "No" Ginny, I haven't been lurkin' around the threads either. I've just been way too busy! Today is the first time back since last week. I started Slim Fast for breakfast on Monday-January 5th & dropped a few pounds since then. Saturday morning I walked into Wal-Mart and was approached by a spokeswoman for Slim Fast. So...I reconfirmed my weightloss commitment by filling out an application for the weightloss challenge, weighing in with them, having my mug-shot taken and them went home with a "Freebie" packet of goodies. I received a nice newsletter with some helpful info, a tiny pedometer, coupons for Slim Fast & also 2 free meal bars. What a deal, huh? I'm not totally following the Slim Fast plan, but it sure helps. I'm doing a combination of SF, WW & Dr. Phil's plan, along with exercise. I'm bound & determined to hit my goal weight this time, as I'm totally disgusted with myself right now. My mini goal is to lose 10# by 2/14 & so far I have around 8# more to lose. I'm glad that our thread has grown quite a bit since I last posted regularly, as I need all the support that I can get & it's so much fun hearing other gals ups & downs as well. Let's do this together, okay? I've done it before with 3FC's help & I will do it again! Well, I've gotta sign off for now. Catch you all later! |
Yeah! The forums are back up! Tried to get on last night but couldn't. Don't know squat about these things but seems like a real pain. :dizzy:
Well, I had started a post then my fat fingers hit something and I completely lost it!! Arrrrgh! Thanks everyone for your potty training advice. I know I have to wait until he's ready ... just seems I'm always changing a diaper! I remember when we were kids and my Mom used cloth diapers ... OK stop laughing young ladies  ... we used to have to rinse those dirty diapers out. :p So much easier to just toss them out. Candy, thanks for re-posting your house plan link... I love to look at those. Thanks for the compliments on our pics also. You're so sweet :) and I think your butt isn't very big at all!! I can only dream of a butt that size :o . Andrea, glad you got Dh off OK. Too cool that you can save $1500 in hotel expenses too. Hope the airline pays good so you can make up some of this lost money!! Get some rest today girl!! :tired: Welcome back Ginny! You just missed alot of downtime for the site ;) . Glad to have you back. Our snow is melting :( . We might get another inch or two this week. Will really loved sledding. I even went down once yesterday. You would think with all my natural padding that it wouldn't seem so bouncy  It was fun anyway. It's just our front yard and the hill isn't that huge. Perfect for Will. Hey Spryng, try and get some rest will you? Sure, with 3 kids at home  MIL is having her hip replaced tomorrow so we get her dog for a couple of weeks. The kids will love it. Don't know how much I will. She took him to the groomer and had his hair cut so that should cut down on the dog hair ... now I'll just have to deal with wet paws. If I can stand it for a couple of weeks maybe we'll eventually get a dog for the boys. I'm more of a cat person but Dh can't stand kitties. :( Well, I had better get going. I have WI tonight and I'm doing the program. I got some info off of Dr Phil's site to share with my TOPS group. I wasn't too thrilled that he jumped on the weight loss band wagon ... just thougt he was doing it for the money. Caught a show last week where he had his family members on. Seem there is alot of obesity and health problems in his immediate family so I'm feeling much different about it now. Has anyone read his book? I probably won't but I do like the way he looks at people doing stupid things and pretty much says "duh, what the heck are you doing???". Common sense. OK, going to go now. I'll try to get to the chat room on MSN at 2 central if anyone is going to be there today. Have a great day ladies!! |
Hi Jackie ... we posted at the same time!! Good for you with the loss so far!
TTYL |
Good afternoon all!
jackie!!! So glad to know you are back for good!!! And yes, we can and will succeed together!!! have you dusted off the ole' recumbant bike? I know you used to be able to ride that and post at the same time! Very talented, lol. :) Geri, rest?? what is that? lol. Last night was a horrible night. DS woke up with nightmares, and then tanner woke up too, which he hasn't done in months. So I didn't get much restful sleep. but I'll be napping today for sure. lol. And no I haven't read Dr.Phils book but I do watch the shows and I think lots of people are doing great on it... but I still favor WW because we don't have to buy all those "specific" kinds of food. But I think any program is great if you can make it a lifestyle change. Andrea, I hope you do fine with DH gone. Mine won't be back in for 2 more weeks. I miss him alot. But I do fine. Just keep yourself busy and the time will fly. :) Ginny, glad to hear you got a walk in indoors, lol. I plan on getting some exercise in tonight also. Hey were we going to chat today at 2 pm central?? I'll try to be there if I'm not alseep yet. Well... I'm done running for today. Got my groceries for the week. Has anyone tried those morningstar farms burgers or products?? I bought some of the "better than burger" patties and I'm excited to try them. Just 2 pts each and everyone on the WW site raves that they taste just like a real hamburger patty. But tonight I'm having the rosemary chicken with white beans. Yum. That has become my favorite new dish. I bought enough to make two dinners because my SIL was suppose to be coming over, but now she isn't so now I can have it twice this week! lol. That is fine with me. :) But I had subway for lunch and I'm satisfied until dinner. Guess I'll get off here. Oh Ginny, since the site was all messed up last week I didn't ever hear about your WI or meeting. Did it go ok? TTYL! |
HI Spryng. My youngest Ds has been waking up a lot at night too and then he's raring to go by 5 or 6am too. Drives me nuts!
I didn't think Dr Phil had a specific eating plan, but maybe he does. I don't really follow it. I just like alot of what he says. TTY in the msn chat room! |
It's 2 pm and I'm at the chat room if anyone is interested.... hope to see someone there. :)
|
Good evening everyone.
WI went well. I'm down 1 pd this week. I'm happy with that... 1-2 lbs a week is enough for me. Spryng, Ricci and I were in Candy's MSN chatroom this afternoon. It was fun! Almost like really talking you know? We'll try to be there daily (during the week anyway) at 2:00 central. Join us if you can. Spryng, did you get a nap in?? Just popped in my pilates DVD for the first time. I've only had it for about 6 weeks and figured it was time. It's called pilates for dummies and I think it's going to be great. I only did the first 5 exercises, but it'll take some time to get into it. I also have a treadmill here & a step for step aerobics if I feel like it. Don't really care for the step aerobics, but at least I have choices so I shouldn't get bored. Enough with the excuses. I will exercise 5 times per week. That gives me 2 days off so there!! OK. Gotta go tear off some wallpaper or something before I go to bed. Have a great night everyone! TTYL |
Good evening all!
Hi Geri! yes it was fun getting to chat with you ladies. I hope to do it again tomorrow! :) And yes, I did get a nap in. Only 30 minutes though... I could have slept longer but after 30 minutes I woke up with lots of energy! You think I would have put it to good use and get this house clean, but no... I made dinner and played with the kids. :) There is always tomorrow, lol. What did everyone end up having for dinner tonight? My chicken and beans came out great. Boy I like that dish, so quick and easy. Well... I'm trying to be better about exercise too. I didn't do a Firm dvd tonight but I did lay on the floor and get some crunches in. I could have done my Firm workout for Abs, but I just didn't feel like having to watch the tv screen so I did a bunch of crunches on my own. It felt really good. Tomorrow I want to get some weights in. I would love to get a treadmill. I'm starting to think that is what I want for my anniversary. But I want one I can run on and you can program different workouts and intensity in. Ok, guess I should get my toosh in the bed. I hope everyone's week has gotten off to a great start!! Can't wait to hear about everyone's WI this week!! |
Hey gals! Do you guys already belong to MSN? I tried earlier in the day but it kept saying I needed to sign up and pay $20.00. By the time 3pm came, I was up to my neck cleaning my office and couldn't stop the momentum. It's only been a mess for months! Anyhows, what chat room were you in? How did you find each other? I was just looking around but it looks like you could get lost!!! :)
I had my first cooked meal last night, non-chicken burritos. I used meatless "chicken strips" and soy cheese with my rice and tortilla. It was pretty good. Also whipped up some guacamole and put it on some lettuce so that with the burrito was really good. Tonight I am making chicken noodle soup but I'm gonna make myself a chickenless pot. It is either the chicken or the noodles and tonight, I pick noodles. As for exercise, I haven't been doing so great. I did get on my Gazelle night before last for 30 minutes but I really need to get back on my Pilates. I feel so much better pain-wise when I am doing Pilates. It really stretches and tones. I love it! Hope you'll let it as much as I do, Geri! Spryng, I wanted a treadmill also but ended up with the Gazelle for 2 reasons. #1 The treadmill I want is way to expensive to get right now even if I had room for it and #2, I don't have room for it! At least the Gazelle folds up and I slide it in next to the wall by the futon. I would like to get a treadmill when we move though. It is so nice to be able to get in a walk without having to get the whole gang dressed and out the door. Sometimes that is more of a battle than it is worth! Well, I really have to get to work. Cleaning my office might seem like work but it doesn't pay their bills! TTYL. Oh, I'll check back before 3pm so let me know about that chat room. |
Good morning all!!
Candy, we went to your site and on the left you hit CHAT and you get your very own chat room!! You may have to download a plug in or something but it's all free. :) So we didn't have to find one another or anything or share the room with strangers. Sounds like you are doing great with the food combining. I'm torn on what to have for dinner tonight. I want something easy since it's tuesday... so I have a shiitake mushroom meatloaf for the crockpot recipe I can make, Tuna Helper, or Morningstar burgers with fries. What sounds good to all of you?? Candy it's hard to get into a habit of exercise, especially if it isn't fun. Exercise has never been fun for me but I want to be toned and not "soft", you know? So I have to get some exercise in. Tonight I plan on doing free weights. Still am not ready to do The Firm... maybe tomorrow night I'll do my lower body on it. lol. Well, I will check in at 2 pm central and see if anyone is up for chatting at the other site. Ginny? Everything ok? haven't heard from you today yet and you are normally a early poster. Hope you are having a great day! :) TTYL! |
Spryng, mine is not working so if I am not there you'll know why. I have emailed them though and hopefully they will help me figure it out. Talk to ya'll later!
|
Hello everyone.
It was fun to chat yesterday. I will try to be there again this afternoon. Jackie, its good to see you again on here. I too went to wal mart and got the slim fast packet of goodies. The pedometer is great. I actually take more steps than I thought. I was able to work out again today. My back is much better. Wish I knew what I did to it, so I don't do it again. I have a chicken recipe that I made last night. It was pretty good. I don't know what the points would be for those of you on WW. I will post it anyway so you all can try it if you want. I hope to see some of you in the chat room at 2. |
Hi there,
I intend to be chatting today. DS is running around with MIL's dog right now so he should be pretty tired for a nap today. He never did sleep yesterday. TTYL!! |
Sweet and Tangy chicken
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts 1 can of tomato soup 1 TBLS of brown sugar 1 TBLS of vinegar Brown the chicken in a skillet on both sides. Add the soup, sugar and vinegar, simmer 20-30 minutes. Enjoy. |
Boo Hoo! :( I won't be there today but hope to be joining ya'll soon! My helper is coming today and I have to pick her up at 3pm so I guess it works out that my chat is not working, for today. I feel like I've been cleaning up excrement forever! Yesterday, the dog was acting weird and when we came home from our meeting last night, he had diarrhea all over the house. So I cleaned up most of that (made DH get out of bed and clean up some he had found and not cleaned up!). Then today, Kylie pees on her bedroom floor, reason unknown, and the cat pooped in the bathtub. Also, the trashcan in the bathroom had about an inch of pee in it that mysteriously got there, neither kid knows how. So, unless the cat somehow did it, which I think is impossible, someone is very forgetful! Anyway, it has been a really gross day and I am hoping it gets better. I'm gonna go jump on the Gazelle and get a little exercise. Tried my new Hula video today but I need to be able to concentrate (not the most coordinated person) and the kids were running around so I gave it up. More later! Hope everyone is having a great day!
|
Candy, you poor thing! My heart goes out to you. Boy do I remember times like that! Once when my dd was potty training she "painted" her walls with poop!! It was the nastiest mess I have ever encountered and I gagged and held my breath through all of it. Boy, I don't miss those times at all. lol. I hope you and your helper get alot accomplished today.
I'm still working on my house too. I get too distracted I guess. I bought a large dust mop to sweep my kitchen. Boy is that heaven! Works so much faster than my broom. Then I attacked my toilet... then I washed my hands and got dinner in the crockpot (decided on the shiitake meatloaf) did one load of dishes and that is it. Oh I did get one load of laundry going. But I still need to clean and vacuum the living room, wash off all the counters, finish the rest of the bathroom, and don't get me started on laundry and the kids rooms, lol. I've been bad this week :) Well, what is everyone else having for dinner? Guess I'll get off here. Hope everyone is having a good OP day! |
Oh I forgot to tell you all two things...
1. Tanner pulled up onto his feet for the first time today!!!!!! and 2. DH and I have been arguing over what would be his first word-- Da Da or Ma Ma... well he said his first word today!! And it was.... Bubba!!!! I laughed so hard. Here I thought he'd say ma ma since daddy isn't around much and I work with him on it everyday, but no... he said bubba. It was too cute. Kids huh? Ok, gotta go. :) |
It's 2 pm central... I'm at the chat room now. :)
|
I'm going to try to figure out how to get hooked up so I can chat with ya'll at 2. I'm not very computer smart.
Well, we have had a wild last night and today. When I was changing Alex's diaper last night, I noticed a knot ( is that the right word?) or something down in his "boy parts". It freaked me out, so I took him to the dr. this morning and he has a hernia. So now I have to take him to a spec. so we can scedule surgery. He also has tonsilitis(sp). Poor guy, I felt so sorry for him. Ya'll don't know, but 3 mo ago he also broke his foot. He has had a rough time lately. So I have been busy with that all day. Dh is about to come unglued b/c Alex his his "baby" and he isn't here to give him some love! I am doing o.k. on my diet although I have really had a sweet tooth lately. I ate alot of candy yesturday, but, I stayed within my points, so I guess it was o.k. even though I know it's not healthy. I'm such a stress eater, I go crazy on food with the least little thing. Well, I'd better go or this post is going to turn into a book!! TTY toinght! |
Andrea, I feel for you. My dd had a hernia when she was about 14 months old and had surgery on it too. Just take comfort in the fact that it is a quick and easy surgery and recovery goes fast. She was running around the very next day! I know you can't help but worry when they have to be put out... but hang in there... poor little guy.
Well, I'm was just checking in. Dinner is almost ready here. I am STARVING!!! lol. Guess I'll go drink some more water to tide me over a little bit longer. TTYL! |
My dinner was sooooo great! I just have to post the recipe!! I WILL be making this again soon!
Slow-Cooker Meat Loaf with Shiitake Mushrooms Because no evaporation takes place, the crockpot makes an especially moist and tender meat loaf. The mushrooms add moisture as well. 2 (1-ounce) slices whole wheat bread 3/4 pound ground round 3/4 pound ground turkey 1 1/2 cups sliced shiitake mushrooms 1/2 cup grated fresh onion 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning 3/4 teaspoon salt 2 large eggs, lightly beaten 1 garlic clove, minced 2 tablespoons ketchup 1 1/2 teaspoons Dijon mustard 1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper Place bread in a food processor, and pulse 10 times or until crumbs measure 1 1/3 cups. Combine the crumbs, beef, and next 7 ingredients (beef through garlic) in a large bowl, and shape meat mixture into a 9 x 6-inch loaf. Place loaf in an electric slow cooker. Combine ketchup, mustard, and pepper in a small bowl, stirring with a fork. Spread ketchup mixture evenly over top of loaf. Cover with lid; cook on LOW for 5 hours. Yield: 6 servings (serving size: 4 ounces) NUTRITION PER SERVING 6 pts per serving CALORIES 265 (43% from fat); FAT 12.7g (sat 4.2g, mono 5.1g, poly 1.7g); PROTEIN 25.2g; CARB 12.7g; FIBER 1.9g; CHOL 152mg; IRON 3mg; SODIUM 545mg; CALC 41mg; |
Good evening everyone.
Oh, Andrea .. I'm so sorry about the hernia. I can't imagine having to go through surgery ... Will did have stitches in his forhead when he was about 1 1/2. It's tough but they do recover so quickly. Spryng, too funny that Tanner's first word was Bubba  Tony's still not crawling yet. We went to Walgreens and I had to hold him up with one hand while I pushed the cart!! Candy, sorry you couldn't chat. It's fun. Maybe we'll see you there tomorrow. Just finished 30 minutes on the treadmill. :tread: I'm sweaty & feeling great. Probably won't get on here anymore tonight. Gotta put the kiddies to bed & Dh has some work to do for tomorrow. Hi to everyone else. Hope to address you all more personally soon!! Have a great night. |
Good morning all!
Wow, where has everyone been lately? Ginny? Jackie? Geri, good for you for getting on that treadmill. I'm really looking into buying one soon. I'll just have to make room for it in my living room. (it's tiny) I have plenty of space in my bedroom but I know if I put it in there I'll never get on it. Plus Tanner still sleeps in my room. What is everyone having for dinner? I guess I'm doing the Morningstar burgers and fries tonight. but that depends because I'm getting to see DH today!!! He has a load that takes him by the house so he will stop in for lunch later. So I may use some of my pts at lunch with him and then have a small dinner. We'll see. I'm happy to be able to see him but it will be hard on the kids to only get him for a couple of hours and then he has to leave again. But a couple of hours is better than none right? Well, I need to get cracken on this house. I've put it off way too long. TTYL! |
Started a new thread......see you there!
