God morning all!
Still fighting the fight.
Bunna I seem to think that every day neeeds an indulgence. UGH! Stress and not feeling well are 2 of my biggest triggers. I have Dana's cookbook and receive her e-mail newsletter. I also read the southbeach diet which has some good advice and recipes.

Dana footpain is teh worse. I wear a brace everynight to keep my foot extended. It is quite a sexy thing. I think I might have said the exercise bike doesn't seem to aggravate it as much as walking. My butt would differ!

Hey Sue! Can you feel the energy? How is work going? I have started my college course which is on-line. I was reading our local newspaper and the artcicle refereed to a hospital that was trying to mandate a BS for RN's. Given the nursing shortage and locally we don't offer a 4 year program i would think that that is quite a lofty goal. How is it in your neck of teh woods?

Pam my girl we can't lose you now! I know that the depression is telling you to hole up where you are but you need to tell that voice to simmer down and seek some support! Just think very shortly you will be ssing your flowers bloom! And be able to get outside in teh sun!

Kina how goes it wih you? Been graocery shopping? I am going tonight. I am going to try and pay better attention to what goes in teh basket.

food plans are holding with no real carbs!!

no exercise yet but soon. just starting to stop with the coughing

have to go and make dinner and get ready for cub scouts.

Pat and Dana do a search on slow burn exercise through google. the first link you get is what you need to click on. for some reason I am still having problems with the net and using a different network so I can not cut and paste.

Bunna I see your foods aned no I do not know your portion sizes but it does not look like you are eating enough. I would guess about 1000 cals daily. that is the fasted way to throw your body back into the starvation mode to slow or even stop your weight loss. be careful. up your calories just a bit and you will find the lbs will start to just shed faster.

Guess what i found in the meat section??? plain meat beef and pork. port 0 carbs per serving and beef well depending on which one had a few carbs from the juice (thikened with carb stuff i bet.) the beef was not to bad. I will try the pork for lunch tomorrow.

DH is losing fast. he can feel his skin getting looser. he is excited. and the whoe reason he is sticking to it is the bread. look at peperage farms bread and it is only about 8 carbs per slice and that is not bad the man lives on his sandwiches and this is just perfect!! me it is the eggs that I can have in the morning that keeps me going.

I did have 3 kisses and that was a total of about 8 carbs in that splurge. and then i may have a nibble of frosted shredded wheat a few squares but If i have my pork rinds then I am fine.

AS for nibbling just thing how bad do I want this???? just put your self off for 30 min before you nibble on it. what about a galss of water. did you know that hunger manifests itself through feelings of hunger???

Darlins I have been put thru my paces and I am scheduled for surgery on Feb 10th. It is not really surgery per say as there will be no cutting. Instead they are going to cook my uterus for 8 minutes. Is that soft boiled or hard boiled? LOL That is what they are going to do and hopefully it will work well. Cook the lining of the uterus. I am still flabergasted by that concept! Still if I can avoid the knife I am all for it. I really have no idea what my body is up to my weight is dramatic everyday. Get this....I swear before God this is the absolute truth. On monday I weighed at the doctors office the following Wednesday I was weighed again and dropped 21 pounds in less than two days but it just keeps bouncing up and down. I have so many new low carb recipes I want to share with you as I have been rather creative just lately and made a big hit with a friend of mine whom I got started on Atkins. I really just wanted you to know I am not leaving again just having a problem with the pseudo tumor again and having headaches but I suspect that after the "procedure" my hormones and body will settle back down so I know where I am really starting from again. Such nonsense. Pat you are right even my Hubby as dense as a man can be sometimes said to me You did so well when you were working with the group you should go back to it. Then I got a letter from Sue Bee and here I am. I have company coming tomorrow but I will be back online Saturday and share a few recipes you that are so nice and so legal!!! Love you.

Good morning all
Bunna you are right about the now versus the later. Saue is right about the calories. You can also try eating sveral small meals throughout the day. I have been buying string cheese sticks and warming them up in teh microwave. DId my shopping at the grocery yesterday. avoided potos and pasta.

Hey Sue glad you are shaking teh cough. I will look up that stuff. I also have a pilates tape that will give you a burn. The bike really doesn't bother it. Very slow to heal though. DH walked on teh treadmill yesterday.

Pam looking forward to those recipes I haven't ever heard of baking teh uterus but I agree with you about no knives! How is your weatehr? Have fun with the company.

Morning ladies! I am SOOOOO ready for spring! Anyone got any really good lotions or treatments for super dry cracked windchapped hands? I have been using hand lotion and i have tried utter lotion but all they do is burn like crazy. Its 8F degrees out today and it feels like a heat wave!

Yesterday:

b-flax cereal
l-crustless pizza with lots of vegis
d-2 slices lc bread w/peanut butter and sf rasp jam
snacks-pork rind w/cream cheese and then Carb Sense ice cream.

You might be right guys I don't think I am eating enough calories, I know I am getting my carbs but guessing I need to get more protein and fat in there. I am having bacon and eggs this morning so that will get me started on the right lc foot. :cool:

How is everyone doing besides busy?

No ideas on lotion. It stays pretty warm here compared to you guys. Anything below 35 is too cold for us. We get snow once in a blue moon.

Pam: good luck on the non-surgery. I have never heard of that either. Looking forward to more new recipes myself.


I am returning to the gym today for a mild workout as I still cannot breath well enough to really get moving. I think I will just do the strength training and try to begin aerobic on Monday. Sue if you have the same stuff I have be prepared for it to hang on.

I haven't the will power to have three kisses. I would eat the entire package and then move on to something else, gotta keep the sugar monster fed once I wake him up . :devil: :devil: :devil:

Recipe # 1 Fried chicken ala Pam
Crush about half a bag of pork rinds into powder
crush about half a cup of pecans (I use my coffee grinder for the nuts)
about a half cup of parmeasan cheese
Mix together well.
Skinless chicken breasts sliced into fillets or fingers
dip in whipped egg and roll in mixture of rinds nuts and cheese pat to set mixture well.
Fry in peanut oil or bacon grease, I personally prefer bacon grease and it is totally legal! The flavor from the bacon grease is amazing as well. It is an old mountain secret of great fried chicken.
Now you can make a great dipping sauce also to go with it if you choose which goes as follows: I use a glad freezer bowl and make a good bit so that I can put what is left in the freezer for another time. Do write on the container so you know what it is later and doesn't become mystery sauce!
1 bottle of legal ketchup Atkins is everywhere even at walmart.
about 1 tablespoon of horseradish- real horseradish not the white horseradish sauce
splenda sweetner to taste mix well Simple and oh so wonderful!!!! Best of all.......Totally legal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A wonderful custard for dessert.
6 eggs
a cup of HEAVY whipping cream
about a third of a cup to half a cup (I like alot of flavor)flavored syrups of choise (My favorite is Torani Sugar free Peach syrup)
Beat well for about two minutes pour into a pan spayed lightly with butter flavored Pam and set into a larger pan with aprox. 1-2 inches of water
cook at 350 for about 30 to 45 minutes depending on how your stove heats Some run hotter than others it is done when you set your finger on it and it lightly bounces back.
DELICIOUS My best friends favorite is the coconut syrup with shredded toasted coconut mixed in and a bit on the top Dust lightly with cinnamon looks and tastes lovely.

Julie this may sound funny but try the to go to the foot section of the dept store waly world is good for that and get a tube of craked heel cream by dr scholes. it really works wonders and ti does not burn. speaking from a nurses point of view with constant wahsing. just do not expect to do any thing for a few min after the rub (PST a little goes a long way)

Eating is good herre and I am not looking forward to going with the family to my sil. she always has pizza for the meal and well nothing else that I can eat. so I will be having my bars and shakes before I get there but that does not help!!! 3 hour drive there and back.

Pam I will take mine soft boiled!! or can you make a nice uetus salad with mayo?? HE HE HE

Bunna that is one of the wonderful things about low carb is that you are not as hungry and many times have to force your self to eat. sounds wierd!! but anyways make sure you have a few snacks there in the day!! that willl help raide the cal level just a tad. you do not want to go over board but it sure helps. Actually Bunna I am almost back to shape. I feel wonderful just a bit with the cough every once in a while. ( get well fast) but thanks I am glad that id did not hang on or I would have been really upset. Eckinacia is great for helping geet better fast.
