Finally here! I have been busy all day. Its warm today with the high of 27 and a low of 11 here tomorrow.
Kempy you go girl! Three pound loss, that is great! I would love to start saving a couple bucks here and there to go to HI someday too! My little guy loves volcanos and I just always wanted to go. I hope you are enjoying your day with the boss out .
Jacks when are you getting married again? I remember all the planning and the day came and went by so fast. Have fun!
Kempy, just had to let you know that I tried the Louisiana hot sauce with my chicken and wild rice soup at lunch. The bottle says "one drop does it" or something to that effect...well, one drop didn't quite do it for me so I put in a couple of dashes... let's just say it tasted mighty darn good and hot and now my sinuses are clear. Can't wait for my next meal
THIS IS A POST FROM TONYAS...it was posted on the Weighty Issues #9 thread in the support forum. I thought I'd copy and move it here since they moved us to the Support Groups forum. Everyone give her a shout

so how are you all doing?! I see still doing well, from browsing the thread, Noelle, you are losing and doing WW, good for you! Angie, you have maintained and that's so awesome! hardest part hu? Hiya Kempy, Redballoon.. let's see who am I missing? Hi everyone!
Well I gained 5 pounds over christmas, lol. *sigh*
so I am much in need of motivation. It's probably been at least 4 months since I even touched the treadmill, unless you count moving my clothes off of it that I hang to dry
So I am back to counting points, using fitday, and excercising, starting TODAY! and to commemorate the event, I am here to apologize for my very long absence, and to gain motivation

Hope everyone had a wonderful day. It's pretty late and everyone is probaly all tucked away in bed - except Noelle. It was Opening Day today at the Leg. We handed out information about GBA (where I work). Opening Day here in Hawaii is like a big huge party. All the legislators open up their offices and bring food for everyone to eat. It was pretty hard to resist - they had all kinds of food! I managed to eat a just a small plate of chicken salad. But it was really oily!
Noelle - Have you been to the Capitol on opening day? There was tons of people. Good fun though. Hows the weather on your side? It's clearing up here in town. Your hot sauce sounds good - unfortunately I can't eat anything hot except for Wasabi!
Julie - June 11, 2005. I can't wait! I know its a long while from now, but I'm such a planner, so the longer the better. My house is getting jam packed with all the brochures, catalogs, and magazines that I have been collecting. I'm getting so excited!
Kempy - I hear yah on not finding anything interesting to do when the boss isn't around. Sometimes I burn CD's when everyone's away. Other than that, I don't know where the time goes. I diddle daddle when my boss is gone, then totally stress when she's here!!!
Angie - If I had the money - I'd buy your business right now from you! I would love to bake instead of having to sit in front of this damn computer all day long! By the looks of the real estate market in Hawaii now...I doubt I'll ever be able to have a house of my own!!!
Susan - Ditto on three day weekends! You know what's funny...Hawaii I think has the most observed holidays in the country. This year I have 16 paid holidays...everyone from the Mainland that works here freaks out on all the holidays that we have. No complaints from me though...but I do wish we had a 3 day weekend all the time!
Alohas to TonyaS, Cal, and everyone else! Gots to get home now before I get left all alone!!!
Good Morning. Sorry I wasnt around yesterday but I kinda slipped up the last 2 days. I wished I could get the mentality I had last year. NOTHING could make me stray off plan back then.
Well, Jay told his mom that we definately listed the house. She pulled out the spider and snake card. Are they that bad in warm climates? I know here we have them outside everywhere but they arent necessarily too big. Are they really big down there?I am still moving if I can pull this off but I will make sure I get an exterminator to visit me regularly if I have to. haha
Tonya, I am so glad you are back!! Nope I didnt maintain. I am back up to 165 YIKES!
Jacks, All those paid holidays sound great! The land prices suck though. How much is a rental there? Are you having a big wedding? Is your family all coming out? I had a nice wedding. We just rented a hall and invited everyone,it probably cost $200.00 total but it was nice because we actually had EVERYONE from both sides of our families come and that would NEVER happen now. I cant stand his brothers.
Kempy, Have fun at school today!! CONGRATULATIONS on losing 3 pounds!!! YOU ROCK!!!
Noelle, I can not get enough hot sauce. I have been making chicken rolled in WOW chips at night(It tastes just like fried chicken) Then I dip it in red hot until my tongue is on fire. YUM! I am glad Michael had a good birthday. I am addicted to the Buttercream icing that Walmart uses too. I could rip the icing off the cupcakes and throw the cakes. haha
I hadnt even noticed that with the crash our signatures stayed with the old ones. No problem Tonya, Thanks for pointing it out or I probably would never have noticed it. I guess I should fix that. haha
I know you can do it though, you know how, you did it before! Plus you are still 100 under your HW, and that's amazing in itself
It's so cold here, but on the news last night I saw that it's WaY colder on the East coast. I actually like the cold weather, I am more chipper when it's cold. Plus I work out in my house, so when it's cold I don't sweat as hard. When it's summer time, I sweat so bad I always cut my workout short a few minutes because I hate it so bad. Even with air conditioning. When it's cold I don't get as heated up .. don't know how that is because the heater is on, but I just like it better
Kempy and Jacks, I love to burn CD's at work too, I have about 3000 mp3's on my computer here, it's really a bad influence :P
Ooooo Noelle, and Jacks... do you both live in Hawaii ? I would love to go there someday. I bet it's so beautiful
Angie, I hate bugs too!! Where are you considering moving to? I hope it's not one of those places where they have big huge beetles, I have nightmares about that sort of thing
Well hello to everyone else, and have a good day ladies.
Tonya great to see you back. Hope to chat with you more often.
Angie are you hanging in there with this weather? Right now the temp outside is -4 below 0. Its to cold to go anywhere. I am afraid my car would die in this weather. My skin is really taking a beating to from the cold air and the heater constantly running.
Have a great day at school Kempy.
Jacks great job staying away from all the goodies and just having a serving of chicken salad. I remember all the magazines too from planning. The honeymoon location ones were my favorites.
Noelle I hope you are not getting stuffed with all the paperwork today. Have a great day.
I think I am just going to make a frozen pizza tonight or something easy. I feel like eating something hot. Something for sure in the oven to warm this place up. My hus is freaking at our heating bill all ready. The kids are going a little bit stir crazy because of the cold too. Oh well I will stop comlaining about this darn weather now !!!! Hope everyone has a great Thursday. I can't wait for Friday to come! Julie
Good afternoon all...is it happy Thursday? I'm still swamped w/paperwork but then again it's nothing new. I "feel" like I'm busting my @ss but actually it's only because I goof-off so much during the day when I should be working . Yesterday I printed a bunch of family photos (remember those portraits we took last year in the park?). well, we never did order from the professional printer people, but I wanted to redecorate our walls at home...so, I bought some glossy photo paper, went to WalMart and got these cheap black frames for about $3 a piece (with the photo mat!) and got myself a little project going. I've got 2 8x10's of the entire family and 1 of the grandkids, then 5x7's of all the separate families. I think it's coming out pretty darn good. Mom doesn't know it yet, but all her old photos are coming down.
Jacks, I've never been down to the Capitol on opening day, the food sounds great though, like most local eats. We had a little rain last night, but it's nice and sunny here today. I can do without the humidity though, yuck!
Julie I'm pretty sure you're just about having dinner right now. Enjoy the pizza. I like baking things too when it gets really wet and rainy and cold around here. Stay warm .
Tonya, glad you cold join us again. Hey, 5 lbs is nothing--you're still a little thang . How's your dad doing these days? I remember last time around you mentioned that he wasn't well and that you were helping take care of him. Is his health better? Hope so.
Angie, what's your recipe for your "fried" chicken w/Wow chips? That sounds good. I love fried chicken, even if it's not really fried. I can't eat too many Wow chips though, the Olestra does a number on my stomach...I don't think using it as a breading would be as bothersome to me though...I'd love to try it. Oh yeah, rent in Hawaii? Well, if you wanted to live in a house (vs a condo) it would run into the thousands...you might as well BUY and pay a mortgage eh? If you can afford the down payment that is... yup, real estate prices here DO SUCK BIG TIME!!!
Kempy how's your day at school today? Are you still having to force yourself to eat (with the prescription and all...)--I think I need some of that!
Sarah (where ya been girl?) How's the WW plan coming along?
Susan how are things in Oregon today?
Cal is it still cold over in AZ? Are the kiddies behaving for ya?
I'm sorry I haven't posted in awhile. My kiddies are writing expository essays and my eyes keep getting crossed after reading. This quarter will be heavy on the writing. I torture myself now so that the 4th quarter can be a little more enjoyable and I won't have all the essays to read. I don't even read for pleasure at this time of year.
Noelle: It has cooled off here a little. This morning we had a little sprinkle. The weatherman called it rain, but I beg to differ. It did clean the air a bit and kept the temps down. The high is staying in the 60's and the lows in the 30's and 40's. My kiddies still try to see what they can get away with. That stopped quickly when they ended up with a Talking Lesson that they had to copy and have signed by their parents.
Hello to Tonya. I only joined these wonderful ladies in October. I notice you live in SLC. I lived there in 1993 for about 7 months. I lived about 5 miles south of the University on 1300 East. I liked it there; didn't like the snow, though. We will be flying to SLC in June on our way to Orlando, FL. Since we're using our frequent flyer miles (only paid $10 per person r/t to Orlando) we are flying PHX-SLC-ORL. Only have a 1 hour stopover in SLC. Glad to get to know you.
Jacks: Congrats on your upcoming wedding. The date is the day after our last day at school. I will actually be counting down with you.
I will try better to post more often. It's just that the next few weeks are going to be a trial with all the papers the kiddos have to write and I have to grade.
Hiya Cal, nice to meet you! I do love SLC, lived here all my life. It can be a little too conservative in other cities in Utah for my taste, but Salt Lake is pretty lax. I think it's so funny the image others from the rest of the country have of Utah.. if you know what I mean - I love winter though, I actually get more bummed out in summer months, when it's so hot I am just miserable. I notice you live in Phoenix.. oooo I would die there haha! But I love to ski, the only thing I don't like is driving in snow.. it can be scary at times I know exactly where you are talking about though, up by the U ? My brother played football for the U of Utah for the last 5 years, and he graduated this year, he has a great shot at the NFL too, so our family is really excited
Kempy, what are these pills they speak of ? Are they an appetite supressant, or just something you have to take that just happens to lower your appetite ?
Noelle, yes, thanks for asking. My dad is doing better, he had to have surgery in October, and is still trying to get a handle on the job situation. Meaning he needs to find one that brings in steady money. Until then I am still trying to help him get some medicaid. The surgery went well though, his back is better. I don't know if I mentioned it last time, but he had an ulcer throughout the course of everything else, and that day, when I arrived at his house, his temp was 86!! The Dr.'s said he had a few hours tops.. so the thought that had I not come over that day, he might not be here today still scares me. No Ibuprofen for him!!
Julie, it's nice to meet you
Noelle, I am still small, but I am only 5'4", so 5-10 extra pounds is very noticable to me!! my pants were not fitting right at all, I was squeezing my butt into them, and my belly was folding over the top pretty bad :P The holidays were hard this year, last year I did just fine, this year, I did not. I was like the desert monster. I saw desert, I ate desert, I ate more desert.. Anyhow, I am already down 3 from this week, but I know if I lose the 5 too fast, then go back to bad habits, it will come right back. So I am in this one for the longer haul.
Angie, how's the plans to move going ? Hope you are doing well today..
I am going to try not to let the stress eating monster get to me today. We are suppose to get another 4 inches of snow. So my husband will be working overtime. He plows. So he is gone alot in the winter and it is just me and the kids. On top of that my in-laws called last night and said it would be unlikely that his grandmother is going to make through the weekend. So he is going on his lunch hour to say he loves her, and that we and the kids do too. He was very close with her growing up. So I know this is hard on him. You guys I hate to admit this but I hate funeral homes. I had a panic attack last time attended a funeral so I hope I can make it through this one. But anyway eating is on track so far this am. Last I got into some microwave popcorn and almost polished off the whole bag though.
Tonya don't you remember me? I believe when I signed on in August we talked a little bit. I remember you doing so well as you are now. And I am glad that your father is okay. I was thinking about you.
Noelle your project sounds fun. I have so many pictures I should make albums for. I am really not into scrapbooking but atleast I should put them into some albums. I heard property is pretty expensive in HI. I like to watch the show Average Joe because it is taped in HI and everything looks so beautiful.
Julie, I do now! ack , I am sorry, I do remember talking to you now that you mention it
I have a very hard time at funerals too, my cousin passed away in October (it's been a hectic 5 months), she was only 20, she got hit by a car. It is still eating at me so bad. I feel so sorry for her family, she was a twin, and my aunt, and cousin (her twin) are still just having the worst time. Anyways, she was in a coma for over a week before she passed on, and it was agonizing. The funeral was very hard also
Sorry to hear your husbands grandma is going to pass on soon, my thoughts are with your family , since I am not a praying woman
