  • Happy Monday Morning Ladies
Once again, its anothe Monday...it was very hard getting up outa my comfy dwon covered bed..oh well...gotta do it.

Anyway, I weighed myself this morning and I have lost 3 more pounds!
so I am finally cracking the 160's at 169...so now that I have started my phase two of southbeach, I should slow down for a two to one pound loss per week until I reach my ultimate goal of 140. But my mini goal will be 160 which I am aiming to be for the end of april.

I had my all bran cereal this morning with milk and boy that was yummy.

I posted my meal plan for today on sunday so I wont repeat it again.

I will cycle tonight my usual distance and do some stretching exercises afterwards.

Hey Cjunk...my weekend was ok...I went to the movies and saw Taking Lives...it was filmed in front and in back of my office building...so it was cool to see it on the big screen. They passed off the Chateau Frontenac as being in montreal but its actually in quebec city...h

Anyway...looking forward to hearing from you lovely ladies soon.

    Have a great OP day

  • Hi ladies,

Cyan, I saw Taking Lives with my husband saturday night and was thinking about you in Montreal. I thought it was pretty good...a few surprises. Keep up the great work...three pounds! You are motivating me to eat less carbs...I had a lot of tuna since reading your posts.

Cjunk, you sound like you and your finance led such an exciting and active life...back about 15 years ago I started going for my pilots license but stopped...too many other things got in the way. This summer I plan to do a lot more activities at our lake house...rowing a caneo or rowboat and maybe taking up tennis this year...my husband and best girlfriend are great players and I am afraid that they will hit me over the head with the racket if I played. My 8 year old son is even better than me but I think I am going to try to talk him into playing with me with summer. Hey, I always have to unbutton the "skinny pants" by the end of the day but they do help to prevent you from eating!

Reina, I am so happy you are back here! My birthday wish for you is to lose that weight and to get a new lifestyle change. Let's try to think of one together! I found that listing every week what I did right and did wrong and how I hope to improve helps me.

Miki, you need to get in here and post more! By summer we all should have a goal to buy a bathing suit in a smaller size. Remember posting here will keep us honest and accountable to eachother..we won't let anyone fail!

Newie, thanks for helping me think about low carbs...your weight loss motivated me to give it a try. We do need to try some of the new low carb products and maybe pass on reviews of any good products...I tried the adkins potato chips and chocolate bar and it was pretty good.

Betty, it sounds that we are about the same size and sometimes those past 10 -15 pounds are the hardest to lose.

Well, here's my update on how I did last week

    What I did right

    1. Tried to eat less carbs
    2. Walked more...to bus stop, parking spaces that were away from the stores
    3. Tried not to buy junk food when food shopping
    4. Did not eat any junk food (McDonalds) out for lunch this week
    5. Wore skinny pants (no elastic bands or sweat bands)
    6. Donated a bag of "fatty" clothes so I must wear my skinny clothes...no going out to buy new clothes until I get to goal weight.
    7. Went to bed earlier three times during the week.

What I did not do well on this week

    1. Did not post as often as I wanted here
    2. Ate a lot of chocolate at night...must stop this habit.
    3. Did not join the gym yet.
    4. Did not plan as many meals as I wanted.
    5. My scale broke (the one that records body fat..still have the old fashion one so I am not sure if I had a loss)

This week I plan to :

    1. Join the gym and go.
    2. Plan my meals (this morning I had cyans tuna and celery and am not hungry yet, plan to have a small salad for lunch and some chicken for dinner.
    3. Get a new body fat scale
    4. Get a goal--some coming up include Florida in April, a wedding in May and my birthday in June...all eventsw that I would like to lose weight for
    5. Start planning a "lifestyle" change for better eating, exercise, organization, time management and maybe even deciding what I want to be when I grow up.
  • Hey ladies,

Hope you are all doing good this week. I am plugging along here with 5 more days to go to end Phase I of atkins... Oh, how I hate this diet!, but it does work, so I must keep plugging along...

Although, My family is taking me on on my final day of Phase I for my birthday dinner, and guess where we are going?? A very nice italian restaurant! oh, what to eat????

Cyan, Congrats on the 3lbs! Keep up the good work.

Debee, I so want to take up tennis, I heard great things about a whole body workout!

Cjunk, any tips on getting back into the Gym. I am treating it like the Plague. I just can't get my body in that place!!!!

Miki, I need some of that great weather down here!!!

Newie, how you doing on those papers. I love your idea of the Spring Bulletin board for school.

Well, ladies, I have to get back to work, so you all have a great day!

PS, a good friend of mine, gave me a See's Chocolate bar, which is sitting on my desk until Monday, when I can crack it open and have a piece!!!! I can't wait!!!!

    Take care,
    Reina
  • Hey who want to start Diet, Exercise and Support 7!!

This one is getting too long...Spring is here...new thread...right?
  • Made it to the Gym Today!!!
Well I did it!! I made it to the gym today. Felt good too since I had a really tough and stressful day at work with a few crisis. Went to a boxing aerobics class. Mostly a core workout and not as aerobic but man was I sweating. My girlfriend convinced me to try it and frankly, I was pissed off at her when the class started because it was so hard, but at the end of it all, my stress went away and I appreciated her coaxing so much the better. Man am I out of shape! It hurts to cough now and my abs haven't even seen the day after yet!!!

Debee--how did you like the pilot lessons? Were they worth trying?? It takes a lot of time and energy I know. My fiance has his liscence and we are partners in a small 2 seater plane with many other people. My concern is that if he runs into any troubles while we are in the air that I will not know what to do or how to land the plane! Want to take the lessons more for self-preservation. A few years ago I tried tennis for the first time and I took an adult class. While the adult class at the rec. centre had such poor turnout that they paired us with the 10-12 year olds class and man could they play!! They kicked my butt!! Meant that I got a lot of good exercise chasing the ball though!!! Good for you for planning to get back into tennis. It is one of those exercises where the better your opponent is, the better your workout!!

Cyan--Congraluations on your 3 pound loss!! You are on a track to success!! I too saw Taking Lives at the movies this weekend and thought it was pretty good. Made me jump a lot. People asked me what it was about and I can't think of how to describe it without blowing the movie for them!! I think it is neat that it was filmed in Montreal. My sister lives on Rue St. Denis in Montreal and occasionally sends me the "BEST" coffee from the Brullerie St. Denis. No fat in it and decadent--called the Equatorial Blend. Expensive but like a good glass of quality red wine. If you are able to pick some up you will enjoy it!! Cool that the movie was filmed showing your office building.

Reina-Mia--I have been scheduling the gym in my day-timer like an appointment and treating it like that so that if I cancel I have to mark it as cancelled in my work daytimer. It is very helpful because if I see more than one cancellation per week it helps to get me back on track. I already have one cancellation from Monday because I procrastinated, so I planned to go tonight --which I did--yaay!! and Thursday and Friday. I also plan to meet someone there so I am committed to be there. If none of my friends are going I tell the instructor that I will be at the class so that if I miss it she is sure to comment. I also joined a gym that is 5 minutes from my work and opened 24 hours so I have no excuse for working late. Basically, I know my own tricks so I am out-duping myself with strategies. This message board is great because I can promise you guys I am going this Thursday and Friday and you will help me to be accountable to it!! If I am totally low energy, I go anyway and pick an easier piece of equipment to start out on and ultimately I move to something harder once I get into it. Hope that helps. Oh, and I also put an extra set of gym clothes in my car permanently and an old set of running shoes, just in case I forget my gym bag.

NewInspiration--how did your conference go??? And your paper marking??

Betty-how is it going?? I understand your plateau frustration--I hit it myself at around 132 pounds. I can challenge you to swim times if you'd like. I enjoy length swimming but have a hard time motivating myself to go. There is a pool near my work that has 12-1:30pm length swims each day and I likely can incorporate one swim day per week into my schedule so if you want to pick a day we can commit to it together and report back on our progress. It might help your Triathalon training too! I always though Triathalons are neat but can't bike or run well at all. I am also a very slow swimmer but I enjoy it.

Look forward to hearing from all of you this week!

    Keep up the positives!!

    Cjunk
