  • Kiwi, dead squirrels??? You're so expressive. Thank goodness you weren't blown away. According to my news you easterners have been getting a nasty storm. Be careful not to overdo tonight - you've got a lot of driving tommorrow to do with a hangover I don't have any driving to do tomorrow, so I might stop at the liquor store on the way home. Do you live in a nutty state like mine where you have to go to a special liquor store to buy anything other than beer and wine? I like Arizona where they have drive up liquor stores!!!

I have no mil to give me birthday presents. My fil has never, and my folks always send a check which I don't cash, so I don't know what I'd do if someone gave me clothes for a gift. I can't even find clothes that fit right when I try them on at the store - DH knows better too - he buys other stuff for me. Sorry I have no advice to give you on this one. I do have a lovely pair of cow socks that a dear friend gave me once. They fit perfectly.

Do I get friday night off from exercising?

Think I'll go bend an elbow too!
  • We can buy liquor in the grocery store here. Most convenient. My favorite liquor concept is what they have (or had when I was there several years ago) in New Orleans: drive through frozen daiquiri bars. Looks more like an ice cream store than a bar: a whole line of different frozen drinks, like pina coladas etc., whirling around in their little machines. MMM. Just the thing for your drive home, eh?

Elbow bending is exercise! So, no, you don't get the night off. Bend away.

I ate too much. I didn't drink too much -- just about the right amount. Just ate too much. I hate it when you order a meal that sounds good and it turns out to be pretty mediocre, but you eat every last scrap of it anyway. And then, because it wasn't all that great, you feel like you deserve dessert. Consequently: major bloating. Blah. Typing will work that off, right?

Where the heck is that Cowpeacheria, anyway? Does she think she can get away with just disappearing? I don't think so -- get back here this instant!!

Oh, and hi there kat! Haven't seen you around in a while.

  • What a day for a parade ! DD had to play in the pep band at the football game this afternoon, and I had to go so I could take her to music lesson afterward, so we both froze our little butt cheeks off (well, hers are little). It was about 28 degrees, which was plenty cold enough, but the wind was so strong, that the wind chill probably pushed it down below 0. I wore wool socks, insulated boots, long underwear top and bottom, jeans, a long sleeved shirt, a polarfleece pullover, neck warmer and mittens, a down jacket and shearling hat. And I brought a self-heating cushion and a blanket with me. Poor kids in the band had to bare their hands to play. Yikes! At least the football players and cheerleaders were moving around!

Anyway, our team lost in overtime. DD is glad -- she doesn't want to go to another arctic football game.

I had canned soup and Hostess Twinkies for dinner. Are you impressed?

    Kiwi
  • i am impressed---and glad you won't have to freeze your porqupines off again any time soon!!!
  • I'm going to see "Annie" the musical at our H.S. on Friday -- who wants to come with me? DD is moving sets around and confiscating props or something. It'll be good to see her doing manual labor.

My chili went over really well at dinner with the in-laws today. Everybody, even the skeptical, liked it.
