Jaded Ladies weekly challenge: Oct.27th.

Ok ladies--This thread is being borrowed from the support forum. But I think we could use a little challenge to give us a little kick start at getting back OP!! :cp: :cp:

The weekly challenge is going to be about things like saying; I will go to the gym 3x this week, or I'll keep my calories to a total of 14,000 for the week, or I will not eat anything after 6 p.m. 3x this week. So, if you want to eat 14,000 calories one day and fast for the next 6 fine! Or, you can go to the gym three days straight and then flop back and do absolutely zilch for the next four.:high:

You will allow yourselves to customize your challenge to suit yourself. It also means that getting back after a fall doesn't mean you've lost any ground at all. It'll inspire that crucial element of success -- the POWER TO PERSIST!! I think it'll be a great motivator and great source of empowerment!!

SO, come on!! If you're interested please jump aboard and tell us your plan for the week and then keep us posted with progress reports and tell us when your goal is accomplished, be it early in the week or at the end. We'll do this starting Monday and wrapping up Sunday night of each week.

So what do you say?? Ready to do this? Well then... Let's go!!

Count me in!

My challenge is to:

1) restart WW at Home to lose the 5 1/4 pound I recently gained, plus another 2 3/4 for a total of 8 pounds by Thanksgiving, one week at a time.

2) drink 64 oz water each day

3) exercise at least 3 times a week.

Thanks Marti for getting us going with this!

Jana

FrouFrou 10-24-2003 01:47 PM

I'm in also Marti! :)

I'm going to go ahead and post my challenge:

1) Drink 4-16.9 oz bottles of water-no less than 5 days. I have a hard time getting my water down and I do good for a couple of days and then slack off.

2) Walk 2 miles 5 days-ride stationary bike 15 minutes 3 days.

I think this is a good start for me. I don't want to get carried away with things and it end up being too much. I WANT to do this!

I wanted to add that I am starting South Beach Monday and also going to post my progress, as far as a loss or gain in my signature. At this point I don't want to post my weight until I have lost 10 or 20 pounds. It gets to me seeing those numbers. :yikes:

Marti 10-24-2003 03:15 PM

Wow! Already posting our challenge. Ok then, here is mine.

1. 100-150 crunches using the excercise ball 4x's this week.

2. Drinking at least 50oz. of water everyday. (but try to get in 80oz.)

I think thats doable for me. Let's hope the rest want to join in.

Marti

Hey Y'all!

K- Here's mine:

1. Drink 8 cups of water a day.

That's it. I am gonna try to make one small change a week and see if I can turn it into a habit. *sigh*

Marti 10-26-2003 07:09 PM

Ready to start tomorrow?

Ok ladies-
Today is Sunday, and tomorrow our challenge starts. Whether you decide to start it tomorrow or tuesday or heck, even get all seven days..... (ok, that's pushing it) We have got to stay on track and just do this. The more we do this, the more it will become habit. And we'll all be OP with no worrys.

So I think by doing this, making our lifestyle changes, it will become habit and we won't have to make a New Years resolution that has ANYTHING to do with weight!! (won't that be something?)

Ok......
Challenge starts tomorrow.................
Marti

Hi all,

I am ready and actually looking forward to it. I have felt more "in control" this weekend, just knowing that I had made the committment to begin tomorrow.

da fat n da furious 10-26-2003 10:11 PM

my challenge
I want to be able to drink 8 glasses of water, eat clean 4 days out of 7.
And 100 crunches per day.
Baby steps....
Angie

Hmmmm, what shall it be?

I am struggling with what kind of goal I want to set. I know it should be related to my weightloss, but that's become a part of my life and I feel as if setting a goal for it would make my good behavior seem temporary. Does that make sense? So my goal is going to be more of a committment to myself. I promise that I will never give up. I will always strive to make it under 2000 calories a day and 5 workouts a week.

Does this count?

Jane 10-27-2003 04:03 PM

Hi ladies,

Just reporting in. Today - so far so good! :cp: I've been OP and have had all the water. I'll be WATP later, before my shower.

Angie and Natalie - glad you both joined in!

Jana

Marti 10-28-2003 05:07 PM

Hey there-
Forgot to post my results for yesterday.

I drank over 50oz. of water. But no crunches. I still have five days in which to complete those. (was aiming for 4 days)

But so far so good. Tonight I will do the crunches!

Jane 10-28-2003 07:12 PM

OP today, too. Did the exercises yesterday. No prob with the water.

Kayecee 10-29-2003 12:32 AM

Well, I am proud to report that my pee is completely clear! :drill: (Can I stop drinking now?)

Kayecee 10-29-2003 12:34 AM

Water! Don't get any ideas! I meant to ask, "Can I stop drinking water now?" :nose:

bandaid 10-29-2003 08:29 AM

I am drinking so much water. But, I'm full of energy and hopeful!

My challenge to myself is to continue having the willpower to meet my goals. (especially after that Dorito dream I had last night. LOL) I woke up craving them. Aching for Doritos. I had a piece of cheese instead. :(

Marti 10-29-2003 04:06 PM

Doing good on the challenge. Crunches done and the water is never a problem. Maybe I will think of something other than water for next week.

Are we going to continue this each week??????????

Two days down,,, two to go! (for me anyways)

Jane 10-29-2003 08:13 PM

Yes, Marti, we need it each week! So glad you thought if it!

Yay for all of you who are making the effort and doing all you can do! :cp: :cp: :cp:

I am doing so well! I have been doing WW points but with more protein than I usually ate in the past. I really can tell the difference in my energy level and love the fact that I don't get hungry between my scheduled eating times.

As you guys know, it has been very hard for me lately to stay OP for 3 consecutive days, but I DID IT!!! Well, okay, technically the day isn't over yet, but I know I'll be fine.

I got out a picture of myself that was taken in Walt Disney World last May, and hung it on the fridge. (Not a pretty sight, trust me). Hopefully this will be an eye-opener when I feel like pigging out!

See you tomorrow,
Jana

Hi Ladies,

I didn't realize we were going to post everyday, oopsie! I was thinking at the end of the week. :dizzy:

Well, I haven't been doing so good with the challenge. I have tried though. I have come down with a cold and haven't felt much like exercising the last two days. Of course I drink most of my water when I am exercising so that hasn't been so great either. But I have gotten some exercise and water this week so that is an improvement. I will definitely try harder next week.

I have been eating right so that counts for something. Today was my weigh in and I am down 2.5 pounds, YIPPEE!

Jana, I did the same thing except I put a picture along with my goals and a chart on the kitchen cabinet and the bathroom door for all to see. I wrote next to the picture, "I don't want to look like this next year" it is working I must say. The kids and hubby have read what I typed and posted and if I go in the kitchen after dinner or get something I shouldn't have they remind me of my goals-I need that!

Marti, thanks for starting this and yes I do hope we continue this each week. I agree with Jana-I think we need this each week! :)

Marti 10-31-2003 05:54 PM

Hey there-

Well my week of doing four days of abs is done!! I can say I accomplished it and feel good that I did!! Water has never been a problem... (as I sit here drinking egg nog! ) So next week I will stick with something else besides something that I always do.

Now remember ladies--- with this challenge... you don't have to do it everyday! Just get yourself started to make it a habit. And as the weeks go by and then we can start making what ever our challenge is into an everyday thing. Does that make sense? That is why I chose to do abs only 4x's this week.

I'm going to enjoy my weekend... try and fit in some more crunches....and think of what I want to do for next week.

Take Care
Marti

Hi ladies,

I am going out be out of town through Sunday night, so I weighed in today. I'm down 2 pounds!!

The water has been easy, but the exercise hasn't.

Some days are easier than others, don't you think so?

Toodles,
Jana

FrouFrou 11-01-2003 03:06 PM

Yes Jana, I have to agree-some days are easier than others. But why is that? CONGRATS on your loss! :cp: :bravo: :cp: WTG
