chit chat #12
Welcome everyone,
We are a group of ladies who support each other through all of life's ups & downs, not just weight loss. Won't you join us? Angie |
Had to make a new thread....lol
HELLO everyone,,,what a week eh? is it Monday yet? my day off and boy I need it. Jana,,,I am in love with your newest family member. I am praying my brother and SIL will have a baby and I can have someone to spoil rotten! Marti,,,this was your first test? If so I will give you the same speach I gave Tanner this past week when he came home with a 33% in math. Failing the first test is good,,,we know where we have to go in getting you where you should be. Would suck if it was your last test right? And if you knew all the things in math you wouldn't have to take it. *does that make sense to you? Cause it made sense to him and his teacher used my speach to her other kids. And now finally KAYCEE!!!! Welcome back Girl! Have to say we have missed you, made a few comments when you were first MIA. In Canada we have Thanksgiving early,,,don't know why,,,crazy really. Should be after Halloween so all the pumpkins not used can go to pumpkin pie...mmmmm pie Anyways I ended up working and didn't get any pie or mashed potatoes and turnips,,,,OMG I love turnips and potatoes mashed. I had surgery last Thursday, the procedure is called an abalation, which is scalding the first layer of the uterus. They used a balloon and burning liquid. Had the surgery at 10 and was asking for Peter's drive-in (famous for their burgers) at noon....lol I feel great,,,thought I would be in alot of pain and really its not bad,,,just like bad cramps, but considering how my periods were,,,Id do this again if I had to. What this does is stops or slows down the bleeding,,which Im really cool with. Id get periods that were so heavy, and would go for weeks. Im anemic and this was one option the others where live with it or a hysterectomy. Gee lets see, Tanner's rehearsals are going great,,,Im so proud of him,,,(hes in Jesus Christ Superstar) My play is almost closing in,,,first week of Nov...Im nervous and excited,,,its so awesome,,the music is contagious,,,and the dancing is very physical. My eating has been good,,,pretty clean. I have a couple more weeks till I can go back to the gym. My shoulder feels good too,,,the cortisone shot worked! Well I have more to say but I don't want to be a post hog...lol ttfn Angie |
Hey ladies...
Accidentally posted this in 11 instead of 12. OOPS! Cut and paste!!! Hope everythings good for you all. Angie...sounds like surgery went well. Im glad to hear your not in any pain. And Happy Thanksgiving by the way! I wish I could be home to celebrate it with my family. But nooo....I have to wait until next month! I know what you mean about the training. When I started my last job, I had to do tow weeks of training at the Seattle store, plus 4 days in California at the head office. I left with a butt load of paper and training material. Its good that you get to enjoy the perks of the job. Im sure all those new clothes make it all worthwhile. Jana...Yayyy! She got a digital camera. Hubby and I just bought a little cheapie one too. I needed it to get all my junk listed on ebay. But it has been used for one or two pics of the dogs too! So, how's the baby doing? Is she home now? How are the twins settling into sisterhood? She is such a little cutie...but youre right..there were a few on there that looked like little aliens. Marti...OP you ask??? Personally not doing that well. I havent been to the gym in ages. Eating has been ok. Im not perfect by far, but Im not gorging on junkfood. So Im kind of maintaining. I havent weighed myself in ages, and dont plan to! Not until I get back to the gym. Im sorry to hear that you flunked the test. Getting a tutor is a great idea, and Im sure it will make a world of difference. Good luck on the next one!! Can I get Jhanai's autograph now, maybe I can sell it on ebay in 20 years and make a fortune!!! Kaycee...good to see you! No horse advice for you. The biggest animal I ever owned was a German Shepherd. Are you shopping around for one, or have you found one? Owning a horse sounds like alot of fun, but alot of work. Keep us updated. Christie..nice to see you to! If it makes you feel any better, I havent been to the gym either, and I have no medical excuses. Are you able to go now? I just like to keep in mind that it not like Im NEVER going back....just not right this second. Well, the hubby is still hurtin pretty bad, and making life rough around here. He gets mad when he cant do things fast enough, so his temper is flaring. I help him as much as I can, but just generally try to stay out of his way. I hope that doesnt sound bad. Im just getting frustrated with his temper tantrums. He finally has an appt with the doc that did his last surgery, and is getting an MRI tomorrow. My little ebay and amazon business is running full force, and doing better than I expected. I listed a book for $3.99, and it sold for $41!!! I listed two other sets of books by the same author, one at $33.99 and the other ar $29.99. One went for $138, and the other for $178!!!!!! Also sold a box set of Beatles CDs for $225. So...cant say that Im not earning my keep this month!!!! Im am definintely hooked. Well ladies..gotta get some housecleaning done. Ive been neglecting it, and have to climb Mount Washmore once again. If Im not back soon, send in search and rescue! Take care of yourselves.... Michelle |
Good Afternoon Ladies :sunny:
Wow Angie, even though you said the surgery wasn't bad it sounded painful, OUCH! The things we women have to deal with and go through. I have painful periods once in a while, more times than not since losing number 4, but exercising and eating right really helps. Glad to hear your shoulder is fine. Boy, I got the shot last week and when I made the appointment my shoulder was hurting. By the time I got to see the dr. it wasn't but since having the shot it has since. I'll see her Friday so hoping to get a prescription for the ibuprofin (sp?). Kayecee, my dh works in the aircraft industry but he has a bunch of paid days (sick & vacation) he hasn't taken so once in a while he will take a well deserved day off. We had a nice time at the Zoo and then had a late lunch-early dinner and then did some shopping-a lot of walking! Hope you guys have fun this weekend and your dh gets a kill. Michelle, I don't go to the gym. We have a treadmill, exercise bike and weights at home that I normally do. Just haven't been. I do mostly walking outdoors or on the treadmill, the stationary bike & my WATP video, just haven't felt up to it the past few weeks. I haven't done much weight training as they are out in the garage and over the summer it was too hot. Now that it has cooled off I may try to do a little. But yes, I am able to get back to it now. My back tends to go out on me once in a while and mostly when I gain a few pounds, which I did. But I did weigh in this morning (couldn't wait till Friday!) and I am down 2 pounds. I hope you hubby gets better soon. Geez, you are making a killin' on ebay! Marti, hope you are having a great day in school. Jana, are ya having fun with the new grandbaby and camera? Well, ladies I need to be getting off soon. 30 mintues to Dr. Phil and I don't want to miss it. I also need to get in a walk today and get some laundry done. EVERYONE have a great day ladies! TTFN |
Hey Y'all!
Well, looks like I have a little time to post tonight after all. My Avon didn't come in  so now I have to stress all weekend about coming home to sort out orders. Oh well, it's good money right before Christmas and it's really not that bad. I am also getting a LOT of great gifts at really good prices. I usually don't start Christmas shopping until December, so I am on a roll! :gift:
BTW, I glanced through the bios a little- pardon my asking, but what exactly is "the reach"? Michelle- OMG, I can't believe y'all are still talking about Mount Washmore! LOL I added my bio last night and I think that was the last thing I said. Is the e-bay thing a lot of trouble? Where are you finding your books and stuff? We already have a horse picked out! We are supposed to pick it up this weekend if we can find a trailer. Angie- Glad you are doing o.k. :balloons: I had the depo-provera shot right after my little boy was born. My period turned into the energizer bunny and kept going and going and going... My doctor said it was just breakthrough bleeding and- dumb me- I let him talk me into getting another! :sorry: I had my son in June and didn't stop until almost February! :faint: It's definitely an experience I wouldn't wish on anyone! (Well, maybe my MIL)  Good vibes for the plays! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes Cristi- It's my turn to make you jealous! I came home and my DH is waiting on me outside. He covers my eyes and whispers that he got me something shiny that I will love! (DIAMOND RING?!? I have been hinting for one for my next birthday- I lost my wedding ring in our fire last year! ) He leads me in the house... anticipation building... I open my eyes... there it is.... a NEW KITCHEN FAUCET!!! :faint: Not only did he have it installed- he EVEN cleaned out the sink cabinet! :spin: Now ain't that romantic? LOL *sigh* Shoulda known! But I do love that man! Well, gotta go tackle some more of Mount Washmore so that I can finish packing for the weekend. I'll see y'all Sunday! |
HAPPY FRIDAY LADIES!
Hi All! Hope EVERYONE is having a great day. :sunny:
Kayecee, that is too funny! Well, it is something shiny! Bummer, it wasn't the something shiny you wanted. He is probably saving to that something shiny for a special day. I love Avon! I haven't ordered anything though in years, don't know of anyone who sells it and always forget to go online. Many, many years ago my sister and mother sold it. I am the same and don't usually start Christmas shopping till December. Even though I always say I am going to do it early, it never happens. Actually, I did get a couple of things for DD a couple of weeks ago. It will be easy as I know what I am going to get everyone, made a list yesterday. It is just a matter of getting out and doing the shopping. Marti, hope you had a fun day in school. Jana, hope you are enjoying those grandbabies, which I know you are. Hi Michelle, Angie, Kat, Carree and anyone else I missed! I spent the morning going to the chiro and taking dd to the doctor to have some small moles removed. Man, it sure felt good to have my neck and back popped. Not much else going on. I am going to try and add a new avatar-a picture of me and my doggie. We'll see what happens. Well, I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I may check back later. Take care ladies. :flow1: |
Hello oh jaded ones,
Cristi - welcome back, girlfriend!! Hope all your ailments are better! Your day w/DH sounded just so sweet. Marti - :cp: YAY for your good grade on the Business English Exam!! Your horse story was too funny! I peed my pants as an adult, too. I was in my 20's, and the guy I was seeing at the time thought it would be real funny to hide in my bathroom and surprise me. Not knowing he was even in the house, I opened the door, it was dark, and I could see a man's outline, and I proceeded to wet myself royally! He felt like a butt (which he was, by the way) and I was so embarrassed but it's funny now! Kaycee - awww, I think the shiny new faucet is sweet! I've had some crappy faucets in the past, and really really appreciate the ones I have now! They Bling Bling in the kitchen and baths!! (well, when I clean them, that is!) Speaking of bathrooms: The Reach - so coined by our own Kat - is about a discussion we had a while back regarding the correlation of increased body weight and increased difficulty with the "paperwork" in the bathroom. The bigger the fanny, the harder "the reach". :o Michelle - the baby is home now and Mary has a real good routine going already. Her hubby helps a lot when he is not at work, thank goodness. The twins are doing okay with it now, but the first couple of days, they each scrambled for mama's attention. Hope your DH is better! How'd the mri go? Wow, girl, you are makin' out like a bandit on ebay and amazon! I wish I had the energy to do something like that. Angie - good luck with the play. It will be opening night before you know it! Neal and I went to see Runaway Jury tonight, a movie based on the John Grisham novel. I would highly recommend it! John Cusak and Gene Hackman both gave stellar performances. Tomorrow is my son's birthday, so everyone will be here for dinner. I am looking forward to that! For whoever asked - I have to say I am not OP. And the thing is, I am miserable about it and feel guilty with every no-no bite I take. :( I am beginning to think that I am a hopeless case. I mean, what, for God's sake, is it going to take for me to lose these pounds that I am packing around everyday??? What is my payoff for staying fat???? Wow, I did not mean to write a book! Be good and I'll talk to you tomorrow. Jana |
Cristi, you and I had the same kinda day. I did the chiropractor thing early,,,relieved alot of pressure,,,(tension) and I felt sooooo good. Then off to the drs. so Brandon can get his flu shot.
I did get in some pampering thou,,,got my nails filled and a pedicure,,hadn't had one in years,,,the barnicals are gone! Well I should get going,,,, I have to find this cool story,,,and cut and paste it for all of you to read. ttfn Angie |
The Dash
A man took a student to the cementary and he picked out a grave stone. He asked the young man what was the most important thing on the gravestone. The young man thought a while and decided it was the saying on the bottome of the gravestone. "No, that is not the most important." Ok, then the day he was born? "No." The day he died? "No." His name? "No." The young man was confused and finally gave up. The man said the most important thing on the gravestone is the dash, because that represents everything that you did while on this earth |
Angie - here's a poem written by Linda Ellis in 1996.
The Dash I read of a man, who stood to speak, at the funeral of a friend. He referred to the dates to be put on her tombstone, from the beginning - to the end. He noted that first came the date of her birth, And spoke of the following date with tears, But he said what mattered most of all, was the DASH between those years. For that DASH represents all the time that she spent alive on earth, And now only those who loved her know what that little line is worth. For it matters not how much we won; The cars…the house…the cash. What matters is how we live and love, and how we spend our "DASH." So think about this long and hard… Are there things you'd like to change? For you never know how much time is left. (You could be at "DASH mid-range.") If we could just slow down enough to consider what's true and real, And love the people in our lives, like we've never loved before. If we treat each other with respect and more often wear a smile… Remembering that our special DASH might only last awhile. So, when your eulogy is being read, with your life's actions to rehash… Would you be proud of the things they say, about how you spent your DASH? Hope everyone is having a great Sunday. TTFN, Jana |
Thank you Jana,,,,
So hows your Dash going? Angie |
Happy Monday morning ladies,
Angie - I guess we were all by ourselves yesterday! Hope everyone was out having lots of fun. Hello everybody! You wouldn't believe what I got Neal for Christmas. He asked for new binoculars, and I found some that have a built in digital camera! So when you focus in, it can take a pic of whatever. Is that cool or what?? He likes to watch the birds, deer and coyotes out here in the country. They were on sale at Target (Tar - zhay, dahling!) for $70.00!! I still have some things to buy for Katie, Mary, Dale and the twins. I am giving Disney Dollars to the new baby, since she doesn't need anything at all. But I am totally done with Neal, Fern, my son Terry, Gina, and her two daughters. What's on your agenda today? Have a good one! Jana |
Hello ladies
How is everyone doing this Monday morning? Here, the wind is blowing like crazy!! And it's WARM wind! It bizarre. James and I are thinking we have some crazy storm coming our way.
Well, I had a busy weekend. Well maybe not too busy. James and I cleaned up our back yard. He cleaned up the patio area and I raked up all the leaves. I chose the more strenuous job so I could get a workout out of it. And boy did I! I had a talk w/James about wanting to "see" better results in my weight. I asked him if I were to go on a diet and workout if he would join me. Well he's not into "diets" he's just into choosing healthier foods and finding the right amount of protein to eat while working out. So I suggested Atkins, just to try it and see if I could live with it and actually get results. He told me that is probably one "diet" that he agree's most with. And so he agreed to start this with me on November 1st. The more I read the book, the more I realized that a lot of it is what James has told me over the years we've been together. It's worth a try. I've realized that I love high carbed foods. So at least with trying this, I can learn to not eat so much of it. Does that make sense? It almost sounds like I'm not really committed to doing this, but I'm just leary about not being able to eat certain foods that I really enjoy. But who knows, I may find that this really works as is the right way for me to go. And I also decided to post on the Atkin forum and ask some questions. I did this yesterday morning sometime. I checked it today and my post was at the very bottom. With not ONE repsonse. And for some reason, that got to me that no one decided to at least answer one question...I didn't feel very welcomed... so I deleted the whole post. Sounds like immature thinking doesn't it. Well, it's deleted already so can't go back. Well I could, but I typed quite a bit. I gave a little history about me and so on. Oh well. Today in one of my classes I was thinking hard about why I started losing the battle with controlling my eating. And I realized that it started way back when I was a kid. You see, I didn't get out of control until after my daughter was already two. I always weighed around 115-120. Then I ballooned to 175lbs.+ (I finally quit weighing myself when I saw that figure) So I decided to give myself some kind of closure or give myself a kind of therapy session, to write it all down. And list everything that I can think of. Does that sound crazy to any of you?? Ok, I think I've rambled on and on here... wondering if I'm making any sense. I think I'm going to take a nap. It's already been a long morning and TOM is just around the corner.... I feel the presence.....:dizzy: Take care ladies Marti Oh yeah- I'm sorry if any of this was not positive...like the posting with atkins..... I just really needed to write it down. Thank you all for listening. |
There are alot of people who never think about why they gain weight,,,I blame mine on stress...pathetic excuse but its the best one I got other then I love food darnit and I can't resist.
Jana, Im thinking of getting Monte a rear spoiler for his car to make it look like a sports car...lol And since its his birthday I think more clothes,,,the boy is growing,,,had to buy him a larger sized pants for work today,,,and all the while he was walking to our room to try them on he was going on about there is NO WAY he can wear that large of a size....lol Then fit nice and snug infact...lol poor baby. Brandon wan'ts music videos dvds Tanner wants an MP3...all easy stuff, infact Im close to being done,,,only have my step father,,and I have no clue. Better run, JC rehearsal tonight. Angie |
Hey Y'all!
Well, I had a full weekend. We left Friday as soon as school was out. I got up Saturday morning and went yard saling (k- so that ain't a word). I didn't score a lot- got DH a gas jug for 50 cents and a few knick knacks for me. I actually- OMG- cooked Saturday night. I coulda beat DH. I made a lovely beef roast, seasoned it well, put reynold's wrap over it, and said- and I quote- "Honey, all you have to do is put it on the grill." :chef: Then SIL and I left to go shopping again. I get back and what is the first thing I see beside the sink? A BARBEQUE SAUCE LID!!!! :censored: It tasted horrible!! Does anyone else's hubby have to add every sauce in the kitchen to everything they touch? :rollpin: Oh well. LOL
We got our horse yesterday. She is beautiful. Did y'all know you can buy collision insurance on a horse? I died laughing when my insurance agent told me I needed it. So now, for $39 a year, my horse is insured for collisions. Learn something new every day! :dz: Cristi- I have never been to the chiro before. I think he would probably have back problems if he tried to pop my back. LOL I hope you can get your avatar up. Angie- Pedicures are soooo relaxing. I need one so bad right now. I know what you mean about the barnacles! I'm afraid I will cut my chihuahua when he lays down by my feet at night! Jana- Oooohhhh! Thanks for explaining The Reach. I can definitely relate! LOL I think mine has surpassed to the Swipe and Pray. LOL Hope you're enjoying the baby. I'm jealous of all the shopping you've finished. :p Confession- I'm not OP either. Don't ask me what the payoff is for being fat- dang if I know why that southern comfort food calls me. :( Marti- Don't be too discouraged. It's good that James is willing to do it with you. I have visited other sites, but I have not found one yet that is as friendly and helpful as this one. I know what you mean about being leery of giving up food groups. Before you decide to do Atkin's, check out the Southbeach websites. Southbeach (SB) is low-carb, but not to the extreme of Atkin's. You can enjoy more veggies, dairy, and whole grains. It also emphasizes leaner cuts of meat. There is a really helpful forum here about the SB on 3FC. It has a list of foods allowed on the SB. Good luck! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes Well, I guess I need to DASH (loved it). See y'all later. |
Hi ladies,
Marti - I think that any plan you think will work, will work. You know what I mean? It's mental. If James will do it with you, that would be great! I can't get even one real-life friend to commit with me to any sort of "diet". Your therapy session idea sounds good and it could be very shocking to see what exactly comes pouring out. What have you got to lose except the weight?? Bet your backyard looks nice. We have tons of leaves down, due to the rain and wind, but they will mostly blow off. Angie - stress is a true binge-starter for me, too. The thing is, I think it's just habit now. Like you, I simply like to eat! How did rehearsal go? Bet Monte would really like the spoiler for Christmas. How'd the birthday celebration go? Kaycee - glad you got your horse, and NO, I had no idea you could/should get collision insurance! How funny! Weird that you mentioned SB diet, because I am thinking of doing that and WW points together. Where the heck is everyone else??? Did anyone see Dr. Phil's show today? If so, please fill me in! Neal thought he recorded it for me, but got the wrong channel! I missed last Monday's show, too. TTFN, Jana |
Good morning all
Kaycee, having a pedicure for me is not relaxing,,,I am so ticklish I squirm and am laughing I usually get others laughing,,,hmmm they are laughing with me right? Not at me? Too funny about the insurance and the horse. I don't know anyone here who is OP? Jana, rehearsal went well, I dropped Tanner off, and ran and did some errands,,,like finally stopping at the hospital with my thank-you card for the wonderful nurses. Geesh carried that around for over a week in my purse it looked mangled...lol I brought up the gift you bought Neal,,,so now Monte wants me to check out Target online...love Target. The one in GreatFalls Montana is great, I know the layout by heart. ITs been a full years since Ive been there. Well I should motor,,,clean this house and go shopping for an outfit for Grand Opening. btw Kaycee, Monte puts sauce on everything,,,and there are times I can't eat it. Just too over powering,,,expecially when hes trying out stirfry...egads. Angie |
Hi ladies,
Angie - the brand of binoculars I got for Neal is Bushnell, if that helps. I have to go 50 miles to Evansville everytime I want to visit Target. Guess what just opened right next door to it? Babies R Us! Well, there goes any extra money I ever had, lol. I've been cleaning today, too, even though my energy level is below zero. Do ya think it could have anything to do with my lack of exercise and nutrients?? duh! I think Angie is right - none of us are truly OP!! It's a wonder we aren't kicked off the boards! :o Next summer we will all be SO SORRY that we're off-P now. If I could get 3 OP days in a row, I would be on my way.... But that 3rd day is so hard to get past! This is worse than when I quit smoking. BBL, Jana |
Hi Ladies! :)
You crack me up!  Barnacles, and collision insurance for a horse?! I got a visual of barnacles. And all this talk about Christmas shopping. :yikes: I have two things bought for DD and that is as far as I got. But I do know what I am getting DS2, he's easy to buy for and two things for DS1 just a matter of going and getting it. But DH, aaaahh! I have no clue what to get him. First I have to say Marti, sweetie, don't worry about not always being postive with your posts. Life isn't always happy and positive and sometimes we need to talk about things. I think that is great James is willing to do this with you, what a sweetie! Funny you ladies mentioned South Beach. A friend on another thread did it and it worked great for her and I am buying the book tomorrow. I thought I would give it a try. I haven't been doing so good, of course having those stinking allergies and then my back didn't help at all. But I am so mad at myself for farting around. I know losing weight is hard but I should have been close to my goal. Kayecee, I am a chicken to post a photo now. I think the photo is okay, I would like a better one though. I may go ahead and use it as my avatar for a few weeks till I get another taken. We are going to have our annual Christmas photo taken next week and I am going to have them take one of me by myself. I am trying to get some together and post on the thread for photos, it is just so hard deciding which ones I want to post. Jana, those binoculars sound cool. They would have come in handy when I went deer hunting with DS2 last year. I take pictures of everything but you can never get close enough to deer. Well, ladies I need to get off this thing and gt my workout done. I have a hour to do and spent most of the morning running errands. Hope EVERYONE is having a wonderful day. TTFN :flow2: P.S. Love The Dash-this always gets me when I read it, thanks Jana and Angie. |
Ladies,
We really need to stop kicking ourselves for not being OP How about we do baby steps to change, we could maybe all together, (thinking of us all moving as one,,,BIG CATERPILLER) Start adding things, EG: 1/2 hr walk, 50 oz of water, ate 3 healthy meals. Whatever.... Its so hard to eat 100% clean 100% of the time,,,so theres got to be a solution, that we can achieve. Angie |
Hello!
Hello Jaded Ladies! When I saw the title of this forum I knew it was for me. I hope you have room for one more chatter.
My name is Natalie and I have been on the weight loss journey since June. So far, I consider myself to be successful. Lately though I have been slipping. I could sure use a group like this for support. I'm not new to 3FC, in fact I had been posting on another thread and I just don't feel like I fit in there. Perhaps it's my own insecurities but I felt it was time to move on. I have another 40 or so pounds to go and I can't make it there without 3FC. I've noticed that since I've been slacking here, my focus has diverted to food. I can't have that! So I hope you'll have me! :^: |
Hello girls!!
A huge welcome to Beenie and Natalie!! I hope you enjoy this forum.....even if we are wayyyyyy down at the bottom!!:D Cristie- Love the photos! It's always so nice to see faces. I had problems with my avatar too when I first tried putting it together, said the same thing, that it was too big. So I finally gave up and had James help me. (I'm always having him help me with something!! Love that man.) What kind of dog is Ernie? He's cute. Love all that hair!! And you look great to Cristie. Now I can picture most of us sitting together, drinking tea or coffee and just chit-chattin away!! And thank you for making me feel less guilty about my non-positive mood the other day. I have to say, I felt better for having written it all down, but guilty for saying anything at all at the same time...... Natalie- I have a chihuahua too. In fact two of them. The female is in the photo with me on my avatar, and my little boy is in one of the photos posted in the photos. Cocoa and Chewy. Lovable Mutts--as it says on their water dish!! Jana--You have the new camera.... maybe we'll be seeing your smiling face sometime soon????:D I also told James about the binoculars and he would like to check it out. So I guess this weekend we'll take a trip to Target. My trip is only 20mins. away..... 50miles.... that's a long trip! And about being OP.. I have to agree with Angie.... even though I was feeling sorry for myself a bit there....we do need to stop kicking ourselves. The more we fret, the harder it's going to be to get back OP. I've joined a challenge on the support thread... but maybe we can start one here too. To get us motivated. Everyone go check out the "WEEK-AT-TIME" Challenge and tell me if you think that is doable for us here. We can give ourselves rewards of some kind (smilie faces or sunshines or whatever) at the end of each week. What do you say??? Let's pull ourselves up and get moving again. The holidays are just around the corner and we all want to look good or maybe just FEEL good. And when the holidays are all over, we won't feel crappy for not being OP all this time. We'll already be a step ahead of all the people who decide that their New Years Resolutions is to workout and eat healthy. And then struggle to get started. So what do you girls say?? Ok..... I've rambled on a bit here. So I will start closing this. Beenie and Natalie... I'd love to hear your input on all this too. We want to make you feel at home here with the Jaded Ladies. Tell us what has worked for you so far..... Ok... you all take care marti |
Okay, third times a charm right?? Geez, I swear I am going to throw this computer out the window! UGH!:yikes:
Hi Ladies:) Sorry about that, this is the third time for trying this. I don't know why this computer is being so stupid! A big WELCOME to Beenie and Natalie! Glad to have you ladies aboard. You will love our little corner of the site, the ladies here are mahvalous! And what a sense of humor! They are GREAT! Angie you are so right, we do need to quit being so hard on ourselves about not being OP 100% of the time. Is that even possible? I don't think so, for me anyway. I wouldn't be where I am today if it were. We are coming to slip up once in a while, afterall we are human. Marti, Ernie is 1/2 mn. schnauzer and 1/2 chihuahua. We got him at the pet store and the lady said the owners said his mother was a whore, couldn't stay away from the mn. schnauzer-her words. I wish now I would have gotten his brother but at the time I wasn't sure I wanted one dog much less two. I liked being able to go when I wanted to without having to worry about someone watching him for a weekend or a week. I put him in a kennel at the vets one time a few years ago to go to my cousins wedding in Dallas and that was so sad. Now he goes when we go which is hard because he doesn't like being around people. But I wouldn't have it any other way. He just turned 8 in September and is very much a part of our family. I am wanting so bad to get another doggy, a chihuahua. DH brother breeds them and we are thinking about getting one from him. You have some cute doggies too. Anyway, glad you liked the pictures. I didn't want to post any until I lose weight but got to thinking this is who I am so what the heck. And you have nothing to feel guilty about for your non-positve mood the other day, I think we all have days like that and it is good to get it out and talk about it. Also, that is what we are here for, an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on, whether it be good or bad we are here for each other. I am willing to try your idea. I definitely will check out the Week at a TIme Challenge and see what it is about. Well, ladies I hope EVERYONE had a great day. Mine was busy but I did get a walk in there and I managed 4 bottles of water so I didn't do too bad. I better get going though. I want to go check out the Challenge Marti is talking about and read some. See ya...:flow2: |
Thank you all for the warm welcome. I'm really glad to have found this forum. I had fun yesterday filling out a bio and submitting some "skinny" pics of myself on the photo page. It was also a nice treat to get to see all of your pretty faces, and cute kitties, and puppies. ;)
This should be a chihuahia forum, it seems as if we all have one. Lupe is 2 years old and she is my baby. Before her I always hated dogs, my friends convinced me to get her even though she cost a fortune. She was worth every penny. We are never apart from eachother, she is glued to my side at all times. I even miss her during the day when I'm at work! Marti, I think it's a great idea to have a challenge set up. I think it's just what I need at this point. It seems like I've been losing my thunder lately. I would be nice to have a check-in point. I was posting on a thread a bit ago (it eventually died) and we posted goals every week. Then we had to check in on a designated day and tell how we did. Whatever the challenge, I'm up for it! My plan is very simple. I don't believe in depriving myself of anything. I think the more you cut back the easier it is to slip up. Moderation should be my middle name! I've been trying to stay between 1500 and 2000 calories a day. The past several weeks it's been on the 2000 side and I am thinking I need to cut it to 1800. I'm just not losing as fast as I was in the beginning. I also workout 5 times a week (or I try to) lately it's been 4 times a week. This week I am back on track because I am so anxious to get under 200. I wanted to be there by Halloween. I have an excellent chance to get there as long as I am very good in the next week. Again, I'm glad to have found you girls. I look forward to getting to know you all better! :) |
Morning ladies-
Just wanted to quickly post before I head off to school.....TOM is here for a visit....bringing me down. Was looking at my high school pictures wishing I looked that way now... and then I remembered what James told me that last time I was in this slump. He said: "yeah, you were really cute in high school.... but .... You're absolutely beautiful NOW" Made me cry. He always knows what to say. So I guess I don't want to look like I did in high school... **sigh** Ok.. just had to share that!! Off to school to struggle some more. I'll write later Take Care Marti |
Hiya ladies,
A BIG Welcome to Natalie and Beenie! I'm sure you'll fit right in! Marti - aww, James is such a sweetie! Also, I think the challenge thread is a great idea! Baby steps may be just what we need. I have no idea how to get a pic from my camera to appear here. If I did, I'd have pics of the new grandbaby! I bought Photoshop Elements but it is too hard! The camera itself came with a program, so maybe I'll try that. :crossed: Cristi - way to go on the walking and water! I haven't seen your pics yet, but will check them out soon. Natalie - yep, we're all dog lovers here! I have a golden retreiver/colie/something else mix that I got from the shelter, plus 2 beagles. They are members of the family! My hubby is so clueless! I bought new perfume - Ralph Lauren Blue for women - on Sunday and have worn it everyday since then. He hasn't even noticed it! My older daughter has had a positive comment every darn day, (it really, really smells good!) but Neal hasn't even noticed! What a dipwad! But I love him anyway..... it's a dirty job but somebody's gotta do it! ;) Well, ladies, I got on the scale and faced the music. I HAD lost 31 1/4 pounds at the end of August, and now it is down to 26 pounds. Oh boo-hoo!!!! Actually, with everything I've been scarfing down, I'm lucky it wasn't more! I am ready to start again with WW. Judging by my past history, I do best with that. Better run. TTFN, Jana |
HI Ladies,
Marti, your James is such a sweetie! Hope you had a great day in school. Also, I checked out the challenge and I do think it is a great idea and you can count me in. I am always up for a challenge. Jana, I don't know anything about the cameras. My son has one and says it is easy but we have a scanner/printer/fax in one and to me the scanner is easy. I was just having a hard time wanting to show my mug! :o So how are the babies doing? Are the twins liking having a baby sister around? My nieces (the twins) just loved it when they had a baby sister, they couldn't get enough of little Sarah Jane. Of course they were 5 at the time, I don't know if the age makes a difference or not. How is your MIL doing? I have been meaning to ask about her as I have been thinking about her, but when I get on and get started I forget. Hey, don't fret over the few pounds gained. As you said it could have been worse, a lot worse. I know you will get that off in no time, plus more. My hubby is a dipwad sometimes to. I got a haircut a while back, a long while back and it was enough that you would notice. After a few days of him not saying anything I finally said something. Of ocurse he said he noticed, just didn't say anything. I wasn't sure if that was bad or not. I haven't gotten much done today, except running around. I plan on starting South Beach on Monday and I did buy an exercise ball yesterday. Gonna have DH blow it up later with the compressor. It looks like it will be fun. I'm like a little kid with a new toy. Hi to Kayecee, Angie, Carree, Kat, Michelle, Natalie, Beenie. I know I am missing others, or I feel like I am-sorry if I have. Hope EVERYONE is having a great day. Talk to ya ladies soon. Take care. :) |
Jana,
I know what you mean about husbands being a bit dense. I one time got my hair cut,,,like 4 inches,,,do you think he noticed? Nope but my neighbour from across the road called to comment that she could see from her front window into mine that I had a hair cut...not sure if I should be creeped out or what....lol Today I got my shipment of clothes in,,,6000 units of clothing,,,and all had to be changed to new hangers! Ive got blisters on my one finger. Anyways while I was going along, I outloud said, *thats it, by this time next year I will be a size 14* Ive gained so much weight this past year, Im at a 20 right now. So I will plug along and get into a comfy 14. I came home for lunch yesterday to find Skittles laying on the kitchen table, licking our pumpkin....lol Id love to put a camera on her and watch what she does while we are gone....Id play music,,(mission impossible) in the background if I could. Well I should ge to bed,,,those clothes aren't going to rehang themselves tomorrow! night all Ang ps A Warm Welcome to our new Ladies! |
Ok ladies-
I posted a challenge for us to start on MONDAY. That gives us the weekend to think about what it is that we want to do. But if you already have an idea, then by all means, type it down. If any of you would rather start the challenge on a different day... then feel free to let me know and we can edit it together. Or,,, if this is just too much... then we can work on something else. Whatever we ALL want to do. Ok then.... I hope this will get our motivation back up!! Take care Marti |
Jana----
We were typing at the same time!! Should we combine the two?? If so... feel free to edit!!! I think they both work!! What do you say? |
Hiya ladies,
Marti - great minds think alike! :D I already closed mine out, and yours is just great! A weekly one really makes more sense than a far-away one. Mondays are a good day to start since we all have more facing us on the weekends. My weigh day has traditionally been Sundays where I allow a few more points so I don';t feel deprived at Sunday family dinners. Thanks for getting us started on this, Marti. I am getting excited about it. Cristi - thanks for asking about my MIL. She is so much weaker than she used to be, but still goes to the Senior Center Mon-Fri. Neal helps so much more with her now than he did before, and I really appreciate it. The twins like their baby sister now, but the first 2 days were not so good! They were fighting for mama's lap and she was so frustrated. But then they magically settled down and all is well. I take the baby and 1 twin when I can so she can have some alone time with them individually. Hi to everyone else... Gotta get some beauty sleep, Jana |
Hi Ladies,
Angie, that is funny. My DH did the same but I didn't have four inches cut, just a different hairstyle. Of course when I said something him and the kids said they noticed just didn't say anything. So, I'm not sure if that was a good thing or not. Marti, I am going to go check out the challenges as soon as I finish here. I do know what I want to challenge myself to do. I went for a 3 mile walk this morning to the park, it was so nice. There was a cool breeze, so it was perfect. Not much planned for today, just catching up on housework. Anyway, just wanted to check in and say hi. Hope everyone has a great day. TaTa :) |
