Good morning ladies,

Marti - :cp: you have to be proud of yourself, making such good choices with food at the restaurant! I know how hard that is, and have been know to take the top off the salt shaker and pour salt over a portion of food I know I shouldn't eat! I just love badmitton! It is a good way to get exercise, and so is tetherball, which is also very fun!

Michelle - wow, you really made out like a bandit at the yard sale! $400 is a nice chunk of money for your Hawaii trip. When are you going? Have you ever been before? I never have, but would love to go sometime. It sure looks beautiful on TV.

Robin - YAY for you being OP 7 days. A couple in my church are doing SBD and are losing well.

Angie - so glad you were brave enough to ask for the Ast. Mgr. position. If you are meant to get it, you will. The skirt sounds cute as can be!

KAT - WHERE ARE YOU??? Don't make me come after you, lol.

Thanks for your well-wishes, everyone. Musta worked, because I feel much better today. I still have the sniffles and a slight headache, but the fever is gone!

Mary and I are going to town today so she can pre-register at the hospital. Caylin is due 2 weeks from today! Then we will make our required stop at Wally World, lol. A friend of mine who I haven't seen for a couple of years is coming over for lunch tomorrow. I'll be glad to see her, but have to get this place cleaned up today! Who wants to come and help me???

Be good and I'll bbl,

Jana

Jan, Im come over to help only if you come over and help me,,,,the killer dust bunnies are guarding the house but Ill make sure to have a clearance pass made for you. You would think this was the white house,,,,lol
My SIL bought the Dr Phil book, I was going to go get it yesterday but lost track of time,,,Im going today thou.
I woke up with a headache, I slept really really late today cause I was up really late last night watching a movie,,,,I saw it when I was 12 or so and loved the movie, *Coal Miners Daughter* Yes I love her music, I remember listening to it on a 8 track that my mom bought me. So now getting the sleep has put me in a headachy way...yuck.
Hello to everyone else, hope your all on the mend.
Angie

jenne1017 09-23-2003 04:45 PM

I was a bad, bad girl! ANd since the journals are down -- I've got no venting place!!!

So I thought of you all ;)

I was bad today -- very bad.

2 power bars [loaded with CALORIES]
2 servings sunflower seeds
chicken salad sandwhich
1 bag [2 servings] BBQ chips [which I have not eaten in weeks!]

I bought fruit, but it was MOLDY!!!! So I took it back to teh cafeteria.

I am going to the gym tonite but I am sick of working out just to undo what I ate in the day. No wonder why I am not losing any more weight!

Grrr.

And to top it all off, I hate work. Especially today. And I still have 1+hours to go!

Tomorrow is another day I suppose...thanks for listening!

Marti 09-24-2003 02:23 AM

Late night for me, but I thought I would stop by and say hi.

And a welcome to Jenne. Feel free to vent here if you want. We do all kinds of venting , crying , gushing and whatever!! When you go to the gym, try not to think of it as trying to undo what you've done. Just think of how lean and trim you'll look later. Think of all the positive stuff that'll come out of it rather than looking at as a chore. Otherwise it'll grow old fast and you'll not want to go at all.

Jana- so glad to know you're feeling better. Wally world?? What's that? I would come and help clean up your place if I were a bit closer, but since I'm not... I'll concentrate on my own place.

Angie- you know, I have always wanted to watch "Coal Miners Daughter" I haven't yet, but someday I will. I've read a section in Oprah's magazine that had stuff from Dr. Phils book. I found it very interesting. When you're done reading....let me know if it's worth buying. I've seen many books out there and it's always hard for me to put the money down and buy it if I'm not sure if it's good or not!!

Robin- I've looked at the SBD book, but only scanned through. I'm glad to hear it's working for you. So far, I'm only doing my own thing here. Joining the 21day challenge got me committed to drinking water and I actually noticed a difference with just that. I'm not sure if I would have lost those 2lbs. if I didn't.

Michelle- $400!? Wow!! I don't think I have enough stuff to even sell that much. Would be nice. So when is this trip to Hawaii?? A friend of mine and her boyfriend just got back. I was amazed at how cheap it is to go!!! 7days for only $1250 for the both. How do you find such deal??? Well when you go... have fun for me ok!!

Well it's getting late so I better hit the hay. Need to get up early.
Chat with you tomorrow

Morning ladies-
I hope all are doing well this fine morning. How is the weather where you're at? Ours is in the mid-80's. Just about right,,, not to humid.

Well next week I start school. I've had dreams of missing classes and not being able to find my homework. What's up with that? I must be nervous. I find it amazing at how expensive it is to buy a book. No wonder people have a difficult time trying to get by and go to school. I hope I don't struggle with this.

Well, I just wanted to pop in a moment and say good morning... so good morning!!!

Chat later

Help

Hello

Everyone must be busy today!

Ok, I am of need of some suggestions. I have this problem. It's called night snacking!! I'm terrible. I was sitting watching TV and I grabbed the can of peanuts and before I realized it,,,, I had eaten more than enough!! (didn't eat them all but....) I do so well through out the day, but once I sit for the evening and relax... I get into this munching mood. It's terrible. I've been doing so well with water and watching my portions and I've even started doing excercises.

What do you all do when and IF you feel this way??? Help me out ladies. Maybe I should pull out this quilt I've started years ago and keep my hands busy with that??? (here I am giving myself advice)

Anyway.... I'm feeling guilty and terrible about the peanuts. So I had to come here and let it out.

Hope you're here tomorrow!!

Marti

Jane 09-25-2003 08:36 AM

Good morning ladies!

So sorry I wasn't able to check in yesterday, but I was so busy! As soon as my feet hit the floor, I was working on the lunch and getting the house clean.

Angie - bunnies like me, I am not afraid, lol! I can talk down killer bunnies! Speaking of bunnies, I have been watching Dr. Phil with rabbit ears. He has interviewed 6 of the 13 people in the house. By the way, I loved the movie Coal Miners Daughter. I think Sissy Spacek did a great job portraying Loretta Lynn.

Jenne - WELCOME to our little group. We all have bad days with food, but just try to have more good days than bad. lol. It seems you ate very little for the whole day, even if some of it was junk food. At least you are good with exercise!

Marti - Wally World is a nickname for Walmart. Another name should be "Jana's Second Home", lol. About your dreams, I think you are probably a little anxious and antsy about returning, which is totally understandable. But you won't have anything to worry about - I have no doubt you will do just fine. Regarding the night snacking - it is my worst time, too! I always save some points for it, but then sometimes resort to eating free veggies, etc. I make a dip with fat free Ranch dressing and salsa that is pretty darn good. Sometimes I just go to bed to forget about it, and sometimes I say heck with it - I'm eating something!

Hi to the other Jaded Ladies out there.

The lunch went so well yesterday! The table was so pretty and it was great to see my friend. I invited another woman that we went to school with, and the 3 of us laughed til we cried about the old days.

I still have my cold but it is almost gone. Mary goes to the dr today and they are going to do a pelvic on her. Hopefully the doc will say she is beginning to dialate some. She is getting nervous!

Gotta go get Fern up and do the hygeine stuff with her.... she does pretty good for a 92 y/o lady!

BBL,
Jana

Good morning all!

I tried to post yesterday but was booted off the computer. ahhh whatever...lol
I had my second interview yesterday, I blew them out of the water,,,I made the three of them laugh alot...lol
As for the school, I am 6% short in my math to get in, and I have a couple of angels at the college who are pulling for me, infact Jackie who is incharge of this program called me at 7 to ask if I got my transcripts yet,,,I had but saw that I was short,,,she said fax them to her anyways,,,did. She called back at 8 to ask me if there was a chance I could get my grade 11 math set and challenge the college. I spent the next 2 hours on a math program I bought 2 yrs ago,,,omg I had flash backs of math class.

And I also saw the gyno about my results, Im good to go for the abalation. Infact she pushed it to the front I go in on the 9th. I told her I was hoping to get into school and it starts Dec 1st. She told the nurse to get me in no later then mid Oct. That way if she has to do an emergency hysterectomy I will have time to heal before school starts.
So thats about all thats happening around here...lol

Marti, I have the same problem, I used to make fat free pudding,,,Chocolate. And Ive heard of air popped pop corn with seasoning works well. Or take up knitting,,,or some other thing that keeps your hands busy.
Good to hear about you lunch Jana, I have two great friends who try to make a lunch date for each of our birhtdays,,,,we are behind this year...lol ITs just with me moving it has made it harder for get togethes,, especially my one friend who owns a dairy farm and has 5 small children....*gulp
Well I promised I would go to the gym today. Talk with you all later.

Marti 09-26-2003 03:35 AM

It's late, and I'm up!!

Hello-

Just a quick hello since I'm still up at this crazy hour after midnight!!

I had the craziest dinner tonight. 1 small corn on the cob and 1/4 of an acorn squash! I wanted some kind of meat substance but at the same time, I just didn't feel like eating. So I didn't eat much. I did end up having ONE little cookie later but that was it. Not the greatest meal is it??

I keep thinking about school starting and I'm hoping that I don't mess up this time! I didn't really mess up last time, just didn't concentrate as well since I was pregnant with my DD9, and I was more into her than school. So now, I will do MUCH better! I hope!:crossed:

My DD called me tonight and told me that she signed up for the choir. She was soooo excited. I'm always happy to hear her get excited about things. Brightens my day.

Ok,,, I really need to get to sleep so I'm going to bed.

Nightie night ladies.

Pictures

Ok....
I added some pictures in my album. Eventually I will delete the home pics. But for now,,,,

Anyway, the pics. are my semi-before. They were taken in 2000. And I was about 160-165lbs. When I seen these photo's back then, I knew it was time to get serious again about my weight. Back in 98' I had went from 175lbs. to 130lbs. I was doing everything right and felt good and looked better than I had in years.... then in 99' my fiance had a car accident and was bumbed up for 6mos. I was taking care of him instead of taking care of myself. (not his fault of coarse) The weight slowly came back on. I just chose not to eat properly or go to the gym. So I went on this Nutrition Program I've talked about at work. And I managed to lose the weight minus 5lbs. Well, since Sony closed, 10lbs. slowly crept up on me. I am determined not to let the rest that I had already lost come back.

Now, I've had a lot of people from work who used to tell me that I don't look like I weighed 165lbs. But I was in these pictures. And for me, it's too much.

As soon as I can get some recent pictures taken,,, I will post those. They will be my "during" pics. When I reach my goal... those will be my "after" pics.

Ok,,, enough rambling on. Just wanted to share that.

Hi ladies,

Angie - hope you get the job! Math class - ewww. Brings back awful memories for me too. Remind us closer to the 9th what's going on with you, okay?

Marti - I'll check out your pics later. I truly think school will be different this time - your heart is in it more, don't you think so? Bet you are proud of DD. Both of my girls were in choir and I loved going to their programs, especially the Christmas ones.

Where is everyone else? :?:

I did more Christmas shopping today - just a couple of things. I got a pink "Girlpower" discman for 4 y/o Mackenzie, and a John Michael Montgomery cd for Mary. Slowly but surely, I'll getting it done.

I have been doing not so good with the food and have been getting all Dr. Phil about it, and asking myself What is My Payoff for staying fat??? I honestly do not know. But when I figure it out, I'm gonna start another thread where we can all discuss our own reasons. If anyone else wants to begin it, please go ahead.

Have a good evening, and I'll see you tomorrow. I'm headed out to check out Marti's pictures.

Jana

Edited to comment on Marti's pics: These are great! Is that the Pacific in the middle one? Anyway, you look good in them!

Hiya Ladies!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far.

Jana...sounds like youre doing better. Im glad to hear it. Dont stress yourself too much about eating bad when youre sick. Worry more about taking care of yourself and getting better, then you can think about getting back on track. Not that you should let yourself go completely, just dont beat yourself up.
Cant wait to hear the good news about the new baby!

You crazy early Christmas shoppers. I am fortunate enough to not have to do much shopping at all. There are no kids in my side of the family, so we decided to forgo gift giving about 5 or 6 years ago. We saved our money for things like trips together.
Now that Im married its a bit different. Hubbies family is HUGE. SO we draw one name at Thanksgiving, and each buy a gift for one person. Saves us mucho $$$. So really all we have to buy for is the kids, which is really the fun part!

Angie...Im sorry to hear that someone is contesting the will. I had a friend whos mother did that. Not only did it eat up pretty much all the money from the will for lawyers fees, it tore the whole family apart. It was a very sad thing to watch. I truly hope that everything turns out well in your case.
Lady...you need to slow down. I dont know how you do it all. Dont forget to take a little 'me' time for yourself, a little R&R goes a long way.

Marti...Your pics are great. Youre right, you dont look 160 in them.
Im bad too for late night snacking. Hubby and I try to watch out for each other. Mostly we try to have 'legal" snacks readily available, and do our best to make sure we dont have bad ones in the house. We eat alot of popcorn, and pretzels. One thing that works for us is to only bring a small bowl full into the living room, as opposed to the whole bag. That way, when the bowls empty...we're done. No more. We satisfy the crave, without overdoing it. Good idea about the quilt....dig it out, and keep yourself busy.

Jenne....2 power bars? You must like those things. I eat them sometimes, when I havent eaten anything before I go to the gym. I need a big bottle of water to choke one of those down.

So..yep I made out like a bandit on that yardsale. We had a TON of crap to sell, and it was a city yardsale, and the local park, so there were alot of people there. I think that may be the most Ive ever made at yardsale.

We are leaving for Maui on November 4th. We'll be celebrating our 2nd anniversary on the 6th. But, since we never had one, we are calling this our honeymoon. We're gonna tell everyone we meet that we're on our honeymoon, and act like newlyweds....wink wink...nudge nudge. LOL
As far as the cost Marti...hubby works for Delta, so we fly for free. We managed to find a pretty good deal on a condo. $420 for a week. It has a full kitchen, with a dishwasher, washer and dryer, and is equipped with everything we need. So we will save money on eating out, by doing our own cooking. It even has a bbq. Its right across the road from a great beach, and the owner let us pay it off a bit at a time. Its owned by the older man and women, and they live there about 2 months a years, and rent it out the rest of the time.
So really all we have to pay for is a rental car, groceries and a little bit of shopping.

I have a really special day planned out for the day of our anniversary, but Ive rambled on long enough.
Ill tell you about it next time Im on.

Take care ladies, and enjoy the weekend!

Michelle

Good evening ladies,

which I suppose is better than being good ladies of the evening. *grin*

Sorry about being AWOL...classes started up again and I've been utterly swamped with projects. So much for the senior year being the "easy" year of the program.

Speaking of school, while there I found out about a wonderful program from a flier posted at the university--I decided that it would not only support a good cause, but it would stretch my own horizons and serve as a graduation celebration and incentive to lose more weight. The info is at www.operationfreefall.com, and its essentially a fundraising skydive to help raise funds for sexual assault prevention and a rape crisis line. My goal is to raise $800 between now and March, so if any of you want to sponsor me, let me know here or via email ([email protected]). :) One of my classmates said that she thinks I'm crazy, but if she can personally watch me jump, she'll sponsor me for $100. *grin*
I'm scared of heights, but if I can face this, I can conquer just about anything. My goal is to be at or below 200lbs by April 24th, which is jump day.

I had gotten down to 217, but backslid with stress and got up to 221 (alltime high was 230)...I'm currently back to 218, and think 18lbs between now and March should be quite achievable.

fropvd 09-27-2003 04:58 PM

Michelle,

Your trip sounds wonderful!

Jane 09-27-2003 11:34 PM

Hiya ladies,

Angie - glad Tanners b/d was fun. Before you know it, he'll be all grown up with a family of his own.

Michelle - OMG, Maui sounds like so much fun! And I had no clue you could get a condo at that price. You really got a great deal. I think acting like newlyweds will be fun! Sometimes, Neal will come up to me at Walmart when there is someone sort of close by and ask "Is your husband going to be home tonight?" To which I always say - No, he'll be gone til tomorrow night, do you want to come by for awhile?? It's fun to help keep the romance alive!

Kat - good to see you! For a person who is afraid of heights to skydive for charity is commendable! And yes, I know you can lose 18 pounds by March. That is less than 4 pounds a month, which is doable if you are careful over the holidays.

Not much new going on here. Talk to you later.

Sunday, September 28th

I am still trying to digest what happened this week where I work. Out of nowhere 16 salaried people got "the ax". I know that it happens everywhere, and I have certainly gone through it enough times with DH, but it has NEVER happened "here".

Hearing about grown men walking through the building crying has really stayed with me. The day had a very 9/11 feel to it. If you will forgive this rambling.....for some reason I must share this with someone....I was brought up like some of you in my age group by parents who survived the depression when jobs were scarce. My own parents revered their jobs, were very loyal, etc. Somewhere in the 60's the "boomer" generation got a tad arrogant....talking about our "rights" all the time and feeling we were "entitled" somehow to certain things. Jobs were also plentiful. If you didn't like it where you were, you went elsewhere.

I personally feel that the tide is going in the other direction. Jobs are no longer plentiful, and we all better take heed! I have worked in a company which has been probably one of the last "country club" environments, and I know that is going to change drastically. Workers have been very spoiled, and I have known that for a long time.

The people left behind are totally shell shocked, trying to make sense of everything when the answer is staring them right in the face. This is business, this is the "Real World" and no one owes us a thing.

Maybe because I kept all these thoughts to myself all week, I had to share them here.

Best,
carree

Marti 09-28-2003 12:37 PM

Morning ladies!!

Carree- I'm sorry to hear about the people at work! I think that is one of the sadest things that can happen. It's one reason to have one person get "let go" for certain reasons but to see 16 people go!! Makes a person nervous. I've talked here about how the company I worked for, SONY, was closed. It was a sad to day for everyone. We read about some kind of "trimming" for Sony worldwide... and there would be a total of 200-300 employees let go total. Well, for a month there were people who joked saying that would be our entire company not really thinking that it would. Well it was. And for many, it was a complete shock. There were three different shift plus the management area. I came in on my first day back on shift, and found out that it was also my last day of work. We already had an idea what was going to happen due to the other shift friends calling us saying "something bad is going to happen" They called everyone on all shifts to have a "meeting" together in our Cafe/Lounge area. And we all got the news at the same time. That last thing that I saw before I left, was a trash bin with everyones badge tossed inside. Seeing all these faces staring back at you when you look down.... it made a lot of us cry.

I'm sorry if I took away from your experience,,, I guess I was just sharing my experience with "getting the ax" The work force is just getting scarce. And Oregon is really bad.

Kat- Jumping out of a plane?? Wow!! I think what you're doing is fantastic and I"m sure you'll reach your goal before your jump date.

Michelle- You are going to have soooo much fun in Hawaii! What a bargain!! I think you should go every year!!

Jana- The top and bottom pics of me are when James and I went to the Lava Caves near "Sisters" have you heard of them? It's three mountains right next to each other. The center photos is from the Oregon Coast. It's so beautiful to go to the coast but always so darned COLD. There is a big difference in temperature from the Oregon coast to the California Coast!!

Well I hope everyone has a good Sunday morning. I'm going to take my DD9 to the book store today then off to ToyRus!! She has gift certificates she wants to spend!!

Talk with you all later
Marti

Hi Carree,
Been there done that too, remember walking into Safeway, the end of June being told July 10th would be my last day. Was there for 7 years and totally loved my job. That was 1994, haven't been back in there since,,,because as we were all leaving the group meeting the head GM said,,,we are letting your store go, so that the other two stores in the city have more sales,,,keep shopping at Safeway,,,,yyya rightttt...NOT
Angie

Jane 09-29-2003 06:51 AM

Good Monday morning,

Carree - we always want you to share here! So sorry about the downsizing! As Marti says - it makes people nervous. And you are right, our generation had different ideas about employment, and often that loyalty was thrown back in our faces. When I took maternity leave to have Katie almost 17 years ago, a new company had just bought out the nursing home where I was Personnel Director. So when my 6 weeks were up and I spoke with the administrator about coming back, he told me there was no place on their "organizational chart" for me in management since I did not have a BA or RN degree. It really hurt my feelings!

Marti - hope you had fun with DD9 yesterday.

Angie - I wouldn't be doing any shopping at Safeway either, if I were you. There isn't one around here, or I would boycot it in your name!

It is early for me, but I woke up around 3:45 and just couldn't get back to sleep. I'll be napping later, won't I? I got my hair cut yesterday and then came home and dyed it myself. I have an appointment at my regular stylist on Friday, but just couldn't wait that long. Have you ever had to have something done to your hair RIGHT NOW??? Well, that's the way I felt yesterday.

I have been doing terrible with the food but am still WATP and drinking the water. I feel bad about doing so badly. It's as though I am letting all of you down, or something. But I know the one I'm really letting down is myself.

I have got mil's bookwork caught up to Sept. 1, so it won't take long now to finish up. Then it will be just a matter of keeping it caught up.

Toodles,
Jana

Good morning everyone!

Thank you Jana for wanting to boycott Safeway for me...*smile Many of my friends and family did boycott Safeway. They have a bad name with having troubles with the employees,,,strikes and such.
I was taking a shower this morning and I don't know about you all but when the phone rings I have to answer it, THREE times I got out of the shower,,,infact the last time I didn't get back in and I think my hair has conditioner still init...arghhh First was Tanner's band teacher asking if I could help out with some volunteering,,,caught in a moment I said sure... Second was from Pennington's offering my the job of Assistant Manager with more money then I had asked for,,,HOOOOOYAAAA Of course my training days are going to be during all the times I need time off,,,,the 2nd and the 9th. And of course I still have the theatre to do...*stress level rising...lol And then to add to my mounting anxiety my PI boss called for me to do a 3 day job starting tonight,,,,lots to prep for....*panting....help, help me
Im stressed over the school thing,,,I really want to go back but my math skills are bad, and even with reading the math book and the computer disc I have no clue,,,its foreign language to me. I don't know if I can learn it in 9 days. I feel so let down, and yet I should be feeling pretty dang good...I guess you can say I had my heart set on going back to school. I know I would make a great nurse.
Well I don't know wha to say on how I feel right now,,,lots of emotions...lol

Marti 09-29-2003 03:20 PM

Afternoon ladies

How are you all doing this Monday afternoon?

Angie- girl, you have the busiest schedule that I've ever seen in a LONG time!! I can understand how stressful you must feel. I think it's wonderful that the Manager Position offered you more money. How nice is that? About the school.....I think you need to get a lot off your schedule first. Maybe you shouldn't volunteer as often as you do. And if you get this manager position, then maybe you'd be able to work around that schedule to go to school. I think you may need more "me" time. You're a very helpful person who will help out in a time of need. (such as the band teacher calling and you say "yes") What ever happens.... don't forget to give yourself some needed rest and relaxation and to just do something for just YOU. (I hope all that didn't sound bad....)

Jana- 3:45? You have got to be taking a nap as I type this!! My hours at work used to 6am-6pm. So I remember getting up around 3:45-4:00.... but I've gotten so used to sleeping in until 8-8:30 that anything before it exhausts me. But---- I started classes today and the first one started at 8:00. So I was yawning all morning!!

Hi to all the rest of the girls here!

I'm doing Semi-ok with my diet. Or lifestyle as I should put it. I'm having a time with finding clothes that I feel comfy in. Before I had gained back 10lbs. earlier this year, I had bought some new clothes. Well,,, they're not as comfy as when I first bought them. And remember how I got rid of all my "fat" clothes to goodwill?? I have nothing to get cozy into. So I'm feeling like I better work on this rather than buy "bigger" clothes. Who wants to do that???
My biggest issue with clothes are the pants/jeans. Why do they think women need the waist band to be soo tiny!!! Some jeans fit so nicely everywhere, until the waist!! I find it irratating at times! Plus, with the waist being so small, it makes your hips stand out more! Does that make sense?? I do own two pairs of dress pants that are what they call low cut. They were on sale so I bought them thinking I would probably never wear them. It's the perfect waist!! You don't feel like you're getting cut off!! But I like to wear jeans most of the time if possible. And the style of jeans with the low cut waist.... I feel too old to try to be wearing those. Also I don't have a tummy worth looking at. But maybe if I were to buy shirts and blouses that hang over it all..... :chin: then maybe I could actually be comfortable!! Imagine that! Being comfy in clothes.

Ok, I did enough yappin about my problems with jeans. So I will close this for now. Take care ladies!!

Oh Marti you said for me. Yes my schedule is nuts, and I have already dropped the one play, the other one is done is 6 weeks and I just can't drop that one, even if I started school, the play would have been done 2 weeks prior so Im cool that way.
So this is my game plan....lol I study like a demon on math,,,beg anyone who excelled in it to help me, and go challenge the college, if I pass it was ment to be. All I need is a50% to pass. And i fail, I have a great paying job that I will be good at. I will finish The Company and drop JC Superstar cause it runs till the end of Jan. And since Tanner is involved in that one, I can do my volunteering while I wait for him, cause Im the phone coordinator. And if Im in school then I can my homework while I wait, and drop the volunteering too. What do you think? House work and eating well is going to go out the window but we already talked about that with the family and they are cool with it,,,(till they have to actually pitch in and help clean their messes...lol)
Gotta run my first victim,,,arghh I mean, tutor is home...lol

Hi ladies...

Geez Angie...Im exhuasted just reading that.
I dont do half of what you do, and I can barely get everything done in a day. Congrats on the job offer. Im sure you'll end up doing what feels right for you. It sounds like you already have it figured out. But like Marti said...dont forget your 'me' time.

Marti...I know what you mean about the jeans. I have a few pairs that are like that...comfy all over, but tight in the waist. Its sad, but Ive just kinds got used to it. I guess they assume that all women are shaped the same. Try Old Navy. Ive found a few pretty comfy pairs there.

Jana...I hope you had a good snooze today.
Theres no way you could be letting us down. Youre still doing WATP, so its not like youve given up....youre still making an effort. Keeping up the exercise is just as hard as trying to eat well. Give yourself some time, and you'll get back on top of it all.

Carree...Im sorry to hear about the layoffs at your work. Im not sure I read it right...were you one of the ones laid off? I hope not. Even though Im sure if you are still there, morale must be pretty low. I have never been a lover of the corporate world. They treat people like they are just workers without faces, and jobs are always the first place they slash when times get tough. I worked for 9 years at a small business owned by a wonderful woman. When I thought it was time to move on I got a job with a large corp, and moved up pretty fast. But I was miserable. I hope I never have to work for a large corp again.
I hope youre feeling better.

Kat...good luck!! That sounds like a great thing your doing. Plus you get the added bonus of doing something thrilling that you will remember for the rest of your life.

So this is my plan for the of our annivesary. Im going to take him up to the Haleakala volcano to watch the sunrise, then to a nice restaurant on the beach for breakfast. Then I thought Id pack us a nice lunch, and we'd hike up to these really pretty waterfalls that I know of. Then we booked a sunset dinner cruise for that night. Reading back it seems like its all based around eating...lol.
But Im gonna do my best to make it a memorable and romantic day.

Well, time for me to go make some dinner.
Have a good one ladies.

Good morning ladies,

I had to work last night, and spent some time at a lazer rejevenation spa, then went to the gym for over 2 and half hours...I was exhausted.Just watching this woman made me tired. She scared me too with her intensity. 2 hours of HARD weight lifting, and 45 min of cardio. This woman is fighting aging with eveything shes got. Wonder how much she paid for botox.
Michelle that sounds soooo romantic. And please keep the name of the people who own the condo,,,,never know when we might go. We have a great condo guy in Disneyland,,,its a few blocks away but worth it.
We took Tanner and his friends to see Pirates of the Caribean, and made me wish to be back in Disneyland. From what I hear its the only movie ever made from a theme park ride...lol

Jana, you know the score and will go back OP this is about you. Failure is not an option.

Well I better get to work on cleaning the house...arghhhhh

Hi ladies,

Angie - Yay on the career opportunity at Pennington's! At least you have choices. Good luck with the math - I am math impaired!

Marti - don't even get me started about jeans and how they fit! Or should I say DON'T fit... Yes, the waists are too darn tight... I thought it was just me. I am tall - 5'9", so I have to get longs which isn't always easy.

Michelle - thanks for the encouraging words. Your anniversary plans sound so romantic! Does he know about the specific plans, or will this be a surprise for him? Be sure and get lots of pics to share with your homeys here.

Well, I am pretty much ticked off at my whole family. Without going into all of it, I just don't like them right now. And I have a surprise for them: I am going out for dinner tonight and they can just fend for themselves. So there!

It has really cooled off here in Indiana, and I am loving it. The leaves are beginning to turn and the smell of Autumn is in the air.

Enjoy the day, ladies, and I'll bbl,
Jana

Michelle,

Thanks for asking...no, I was not one of the 16 and am very thankful to have a new job...this is my fourth week, and I am loving it. It's a great group in R & D with a boss I used to work for years ago.

Ladies, I know that you're all much younger than me (56) but I get sleepy just reading your posts, especially you, Angie.

Jana: if you're angry, it must be for a good reason!

Love,
carree

Evening ladies-

Second day of school went fine. I have a couple classes with some girls who used to work at Sony with me. So that's always nice to have friends there. I have this "Team Building" class. Not sure what to think of it yet. To much teaming up!! I concider myself shy....(I don't think my friends would agree, but I say I am!!):D

Went to the courts today to get some more paper work done with my ex (or very soon to be officially ex) we were in there joking about how it's taken us 5yrs. to file. The woman helping us out said it's always nice to see people who remain friends afterwards especially when children are involved. We should have never married. Better off without each other than with each other..... but that's getting into it too much.... sorry.

Ok, I am posting my "during" picture. It was taken today. I hate having my picture taken. James took several, and I finally decided on one that I wanted to post. So this photo is me today.

Hope all are doing well and I will talk to you all later

Hi ladies,

Carree - so glad you are happy at your job. Agewise, I am right behind you, Carree, having turned 50 last month.

Marti - I didn't see a link for the picture... is it just me? So glad you and your ex are friendly. It's so much nicer for everybody that way. Bet your Sony friends were happy to see you, too.

I left the house yesterday around 3:30 and didn't come home until past 7. Neal and Katie came home to an empty house with no supper cooking and had to do it themselves. I was at the library reading some of Dr. Phil's new book that I just bought. He has a way of saying things that really get a person to think in a different light. Hopefully something he says will help prod me into the right direction again. I'll take all the help I can get.

What's everyone doing today? I have to get the laundry done and make out menus for next week. I'm also making a pot of Amish Chicken Noodle soup for tonight. The fam will be glad that I'm back on duty. :D

Be good!
Jana

Good morning everyone,
Carree, the funny thing is I am bored most times...lol I used to be busier.

Jana, good for you to take a little me time. Im going to go buy Dr Phils book today, watched him yesterday and was so excited. I wish I was one of those 13 people,,,cause I know being watched by millions I would lose the weight...lol

Marti, its always a good thing to remain friends or civil with an ex when there are children involved.

Well today I have to go for another cortisone shot to my shoulder,,,know its going to hurt.....*shudder
Then since I didnt' sleep well last night I plan to get a movie and watch it or nap. NOTHING planned for tonight. I have a beef and broccoli soup on the dinner menu.
I worked the same case again last night, this woman is nuts! We went to the gym again and she did her 2 hours on weights and 45 on the eleptic trainer again....Im exhausted just watching her. Since we went earlier she went home earlier so after I waited an extra 1/2 hr incase she left again I took off to the theatre for an hour and did some blocking notes. Then I cleaned when I got home, since no one cleared the dinner mess. Even thou I made dinner and didn't even get to eat it with everyone,,,grrrrr
Brandon asthma has kicked in again,,,I hate this time of year,,,hes allergic to grain dust,,,and with the farmers doing the cutting,,,he suffers.
Well I should run,,,
Talk to you all later

Hi ladies,

Marti - I will look for your pics there.

Angie - how's the shoulder feeling?

I have to get some cleaning done today. Tomorrow morning I will be at the hospital before 7am with Gina (the woman my son sees) and Macy getting Macy's tear ducts cleaned out. She is 8 mos. old and I hate to think of her going through that. Anyway, I'll check in when I can, but it won't be early. I think I will bring the child home with me instead of sending her to the babysitter. She could probably use some TLC after the procedure and I am just like a Grandma to her.

Could someone start #11 please?

What's everyone doing today?
Jana
