Good Morning/Evening all.....busy weekend.

Friday night as promised to the boys we went to see Jurasic World. Now ladies, these types of movies are NOT my fav. I can take or leave them and not care about missing them. I am caught up on the prior Jurasic movies as the boys watch them over and over. I do not sit down and watch but pretty much see them. SOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooo....this is a GREAT movie. I loved, loved, loved, it. Suspenseful, does not drag, and a bit different from the others. Def a rental if you don't make it to the movies to see it. Of course it is about dinosaurs, but a very good movie.

Saturday was the last ballgame of the season! Yahoo!! I still felt a little "off"..more than normal, lol, from the vaccines I got on THursday. After lunch at our favorite Mexi place, Shrimp taco salad-no beans, no rice, didn't eat the shell. SO yummy, I went home a vegged the remainder of the day and evening. The shrimp was grilled in with some sort of great seasoning. So so tasty.

Felt so much better by Sunday morning. No church as we had to head to Florence, KY (about 1 hr 45 min drive). It was my grand nephew's 5th birthday. (Michael's grandson) Bowling party. No I didn't bowl. Didn't want isn't hurting anymore to start hurting. hahah. It was a good time to see family. Sam and I rode with my bro and SIL. The boys were at their dad's for a 13th bd party for Ainsley. She is so tall and beautiful. She is already 5'6". Anyway we took the back roads home because the I74 had too much traffic and 13 miles of construction, one lane, stop and go on the way there. We decided to stop at this little cafe in a itty bitty town to eat. What a great choice. They smoke most of their meat in real smokers. I do not like smoked food but the others loved it. Bro had pulled pork that was out of this world, according to him. I had a great wedge salad with bleu cheese dressing. SIL ordered fried green beans and I ordered jalapeno poppers that we all shared. Delish. Got home at 6pm and vegged till bed time. Now here I am at work, what weekend???

SUSIE....might be a bit easier that DH is doing the healthy weight loss thing with you. When you have support it seems to go better. Hope work slows down just a bit for you. Praying good news for Genny. Keep us posted on her surgery date.

CEEG...guess Miley is now YOUR kitty. Glad you take her home with you. Girl get off the bad eating habit wheel. Plan out your eats, that helps me, might be of help to you also.

Hello to the rest of you....Expect to hear more from HAPPY as she is on vacation this week.

Love you ladies.

Morning all. Didn’t realize I hadn’t posted since Wednesday.

Happy – Enjoy your no commitments week!! == Did you get over to the festival over the weekend? == I think I’m skipping the veg garden this year. I didn’t make my indoor seed starting happen, and then I never got anything planted outdoors. Probably not too late for some cherry tomatoes and some herbs. == Re the shoe insert. My custom orthotics are made in pairs and of course I wear both. As for the other insert I wear – it’s a rigid insert made of carbon fiber. It doesn’t bend and it’s intended to immobilize some of the movement/flexing of the foot the same way those walking boots do - it’s sort of a replacement of/alternative to the boot. And that’s why it’s only worn on one foot.

Annie – Sorry you had the side-effects from the shots, but it’s a lot better than what might happen without them!! == I still have my JCP coupon, so have to see what I might get. Might just end up being some socks. I go back and forth between wanting the no-show socks and swearing off them when they slip down into my shoes. Just have to accept that once the elastic starts to go, they are unwearable… == The quarterly check-ins are just verbal, though we do go through the goals that were established. I think my boss just has to go into whatever software it is and enter the date it was done. == Wow, busy weekend. Glad you liked Jurrasic. I’m sure seeing it at home on a smaller screen and not in 3D would take it down a notch… == Another “wow” – Ainsley is already 13??!!

Ceejay – Nice to get the physical activity by doing the yardwork, but only if you *want* to do it. In which case..when it’s hot hot hot. – no thanks! == I’m glad you didn’t fall off the steps! == Sounds like you’re looking forward to that reunion. Do they have a separate one for each graduating class, or is it a combined event?

Susie - Glad you enjoyed the family reunion, in spite of the hot weather. == So no more chemo for Genny? Is there an alternative treatment? If I recall, the initial treatments wiped out the cancer and the others were just to make sure it was gone?? == Good that both you and your dh will be on the same page with WL goals. Our “snack shelf” at home was barren and bf went out and bought a bunch of junk to fill it up again last week. A challenge for me to resist some of that stuff, and last week was not the best eating week, that’s for sure. = Yeh, that insert in the shoe is a catch-22, but right now I think I’m better off without it. I’m gonna give it several weeks.

Hellos to Dee and Shad!!

=

Catchup…

Wednesday I did the rower and recumbent bike and the usual mat stuff afterwards – knee pushups, plank, abs, stretching. Also did that on Sunday, but about 10 more minutes of the recumbent. My legs were feeling it as I pedaled to the train station today.

Saturday was uneventful. Went to the home improvement place and bought a double towel rod to replace a single, and bought some flowers to hang on my shepherd’s hook. Planted the flowers. Of course that took longer than you’d think. Had to find the patio hose (not in the garage – bf had hung it in the v of the tree trunk of the crabapple tree by the patio to let it drain last fall and never put it away), then had bf open the spigot for it.

Had breakfast on Sunday morning with my former co-worker. He’s enjoying his unemployment (though still adjusting) and will continue to do so until his severance and unemployment benefits run out in December. He’s pretty much decided to not try very hard to get a job in his current career field – he’ll just get a simple job that can pay him medical benefits for a hopefully small amount of hours worked.

We watched some of the world cup soccer tourney on tv at the places we ate out on Saturday lunch and Sunday dinner – find myself getting interested. Could just be amazement at how fit the players need to be to play that sport! Tires me out a bit to watch it, LOL.

Okay, gonna get this posted before the day gets away from me. Hugs!

P.S. I see that when I cut and paste, any MS Word formatting seems to go away and I get different size fonts and the line spacing goes wonky. Oh, and I get email notifications when people post, but the emails no longer have a hyperlink that takes me right to the post. Dunno what they changed, but I don't like it!

Good morning girls,

Busy dizzy weekend. I was a good girl - Friday and Saturday were our town's first summer festival/outdoor craft show and carnival. I debated and finally decided not to go into town. There is nothing much I needed and I figured I can go to the Fall Festival or perhaps catch one of the summer festivals nearby. Friday morning I took care of some emails and some things I had to write up. Then I stayed home and tackled some laundry and cleaning. Saturday I stayed home, talked over with DH a Senior Center project that has no real direction so we tried to wrap some things up with that. I should have gotten more things done at home but I didn't. We went out to eat to a place that had fried chicken DH liked. I got fried shrimp - they were not good and were expensive to boot - other choices were pizza and I'm kind of sick of bad pizza here or smoked pork products and like Annie - I am not a fan of smoked bbq as it talks back to me.

Sunday we went to the casino, had breakfast and played for a little while. DH was very lucky. I couldn't stay long because I had to get back home and get ready to go back into town. I agreed to help with an outdoor book sale the book lady dreamed up to get rid of our excess books. Boy that was a lot of work! The afternoon workers consisted of me with my bad foot - 20 minutes of standing on pavement immediately had my foot aching, P has a bad back and N has Multiple Sclerosis so we were really hobbling around. 5 longest hours of the year for me. Thank goodness my bingo/thrift shop partner's wife is always around to help us - she was toting boxes of books like they were Kleenex or something similar. I was sooooo tired after that I could barely more and didn't feel like cooking supper. It was 5:30 so I stopped in town - the Senior Center had a food truck at the Veterans Center and they were selling sandwiches. I got 2 chili cheese dogs and 2 turkey cordon bleu sandwiches because I didn't know what DH wanted and figured I could eat the the chili dog minus bun. Both sandwiches were horrible salt bombs. The chili was terrible and the hot dog was extra salty. The sandwiches were really bad - pulled and shredded turkey that was dry as the dessert and tasted more like hard strings. They had smoked salty ham mixed in and they served it on dry dense ciabatta bread with a slice of swiss cheese that didn't melt because the meat was barely warm. Because they cooked it in chicken broth and the meat was processed it was horrendously salty. It was super dry too, especially paired with that bread. And they served it with a pickle slice and potato chips. I ate half the hot dog because I was hungry and didn't really have anything else to substitute. DH ate his chips and pickle and I tossed out 3 of the sandwiches. Last year they had a chef who developed sandwiches that had much more flavor and a great sauce. Last time I'll be eating at that food truck!

Today I am enjoying my first day home free. I did forget to go to swimming today. But I am still quite achy from yesterday's strenuous day. I will get on the NuStep tonight. Laundry and house cleaning on the agenda today and I probably will hop over to the Farmer's Market today just to see what they have. DH went to a training session and should be back in the early afternoon.

Annie - glad you had a nice weekend. I'm glad you opted out of bowling, especially if you bowl with the arm that had gotten the vaccines. Ouch. Wow Ainsley is growing up but then again so are the boys. I hope they all have a good relationship with each other. Thanks for the plug on Jurrasic Park - I would have otherwise passed but I will check it out when it comes to pay per view. Yay for getting 2 birthday teas!! Hope they were both good. And I will admit the constant pain is really making me think the Keto route. There's just so much sugar in the house I have to toss - and DH is a sugar guy so I have to figure a way to allow him but not tempt me. I hope your week goes easy as your arms rest up. No carrying 50 bundles of brochures or typing for 5 hours!!

Ceejay - I hope the nephew can be patient if they have to wait to sell their house. They might have to pass on some dream houses and that is hard to do but in the end, things will work as they need to be. I take it that once the niece gets settled in then you won't have to travel back and forth so much?

Susie - it's good that you are supporting DH in his weightloss efforts. He will do better I'm sure if you are behind making sure he's doing the right thing. How terrible is that if Genny is allergic to the chemo? I guess they have many options now. Still wishing her well. I'm glad you are keeping track of your accomplishments for your review. I used to make my staff fill out timesheets which they always grumbled about but when it came time for reviews, they were surprised at how much they did because I used the timesheets as a basis for that - not many bosses will do that any more. You deserve credit for all that you do.

Hope the rest of you will check in later and I'll get updated with personals. I can't believe I've been up for 4 hours and all I've done is sit at the computer. I think I need to take a break from the computer too!

Oh and Friday I found out the director of the Senior Center will be leaving. She is taking another position in a different town. Several people asked me - both serious and joking - if I was going to take over. Darn near threw my neck out shaking my head no. I am too old and tired to do this again. And the pay is terrible and the benefits non existent. Because of personalities involved, the whole dynamic of the center will change no doubt. Will be interesting to see what happens. But I am not coming out of retirement, that's for sure. In fact I am trying hard to get deeper into it.

Have a good one ladies.

Hello Laura typing over my head again. Thanks for the explanation on the shoe inserts. I thought the one that stabilized your foot raised it higher than the other one. I see that you also play "where did my partner put the gardening stuff from last year" I laugh but it's not funny. I banned DH from taking my gardening tools because he leaves things where he used them last and when I go to get the weed puller or pruning shears they are nowhere to be found or are laying rusting outside.

Talk about fit soccer players - I was watching American Ninja and thought the same thing about the pro parr core people. Wow. Hope your friend has good luck finding another job.

Later chicks...

Good Morning/Evening,

Not much to report. Made cheeseburgers, fried radishes with mozzarella, oven baked zucchini chips with parmesan, corn on the cob for dinner. YUMMY....yes I ate the COB, paying for it this morning. Up 2 lbs and bloated. Keto fail. I am now praying for keto strength. Truly.

BIG NEWS....I took a walk last night, yep exercise. Sam and I took Bruno for a walk. Let's not get too excited as it is T-storms today through Thursday so don't see that happening again soon. I like walking, I should do it more.

HAPPY...how is your home staycation? Remember...don't answer the phone. How did the book sale do? Was it worth the time and trouble? Kind of like garage sales for me. So much work so little $$ made. Not worth it for the time and trouble. Would rather give all of it to the homeless shelter or women's shelter. Bummer on the food truck food. I won't eat from one of those, too much sanitary things go through my mind and I am grossed out. Probably a good thing as there are food trucks all around downtown, that sound fabulous, I would need to lose 80 lbs rather than 8. DH seems to do well at those casinos. I still have not gone to any around me. One is a close at about a 30 minute drive too. Not a fan of smokey places.

LAURA...Good for you on the exercise. Sounds like a lot. How are you legs feeling today? Did you get to bike to the train or are you getting rain also?

Hello to all...

Morning all. Kept hearing rumblings of thunder while I was getting ready for work this morning so I drove to the train station. The train was late by a few minutes, and of course that’s when the rain started in earnest. Thankfully, it wasn’t raining when I arrived downtown.

Happy – Sounds like a lot of hard work at the book sale. How did it do for making money? == Hope you enjoy your “home free” day. I’m glad you will not consider taking over the senior center – stand firm on that while continuing to throw yourself into your retirement life!!

Annie – Yum, baked zucchini chips with parmesan!! Boo on the bloating from the corn. == Good job on the walking. Yes, you should do it more especially if you like it!!! == Legs feeling fine today, but then again, I drove to the train because we also got that rain that you did.

Hellos to the rest of you! Hope you’re all having a good week so far.

==

I worked out at home last night. I decided to get on the Nordictrack stationary bike. I did an iFit workout that was a combo of cycling and strength moves done off the bike. That was kind of odd because the workout was a video displayed on the bike’s console screen so when I did the floor work, I couldn’t see the video, just had to listen to it. Overall, it was a good workout and it seems the last adjustment bf did to the resistance is good enough to make it useable for me. I think we’ll just keep it instead of selling it. He’s only gotten lowball offers anyway. After the bike, I did one BE workout.

Plan to go to the fc tonight to do the rower.

That’s about it for me, so let me get this posted.

Yeh, the font size is all goofy again when I cut and paste, and now I see that if I try to change all the font to the same size that the option is no longer available in 3fc. Strange.

Hi Ladies!
The week is busy, busy, busy! Work & home included.

We had PC Trade Up this week and it was time for me to get a new one. I was without a computer for most of the morning today, and got it back at 1:00 p.m. So now I'm playing catch up and trying to find things on the computer and we have Windows 10 on it so that is different too. I'm getting the hang of it.

I worked last night until 6:30 and tonight until 7:30. But I did come home and workout both nights. Tonight as a part of my treadmill workout I ran 1 mile. I also ran 1 mile on Sunday. I walk for 2 miles and the last mile I run it. Tonight I ran the mile in 10 min. I have gotten my time down from 11 min to 10 min. It makes me feel like an athlete. Yesterday I walked 30 min and did the 20 min on the recumbent bike. I find that when I work out, I have more energy at the end of my day.

Annie: I had to look twice at your post tonight!! You walked AND you liked it........YEAH! I think I want to see the Jurassic Park movie, it looks good.

Laura: We got some big storms this afternoon. That is great the your BF got the tension fixed on the bike so you can use it. That is strange that you couldn't see the one part of the workout...it does seem strange they would have that part in the workout when you can't see it on the screen.

Happy: How was your day today? Are you getting a lot accomplished?

Ceejay, Shad and Dee: Hello! How was your day?

I am heading to bed ladies. I will see you all tomorrow.

Good morning all,

Even though I am home, still getting emails and phone calls - no getting away from things. I seem to be extra achey too - not sure why. I am looking at the things I have in the house - sugar/carbs everywhere. Yesterday I had some extra ground beef so I made quick tacos for lunch. Served with fresh chilled pineapple. DH said he'd rather eat at home than out - I said sure YOU don't have to cook it and clean up after it. For dinner I put a pork roast in the Instant Pot. It was good but even though I cooked it in pineapple juice, it still needed some sort of sauce because it was a tad dry so I added just a smidge of bbq sauce to wet it down. Served with a baked potato an corn - all carby but it was easy to fix and DH liked it. Will be a challenge to do Keto with DH - will have to cook 2 dinners and 5 vegetables! Although I was reading about neuropathy that DH suffers from - he is very worried he will get bad like his friend who just passed away and there is no cure, only trying to control and keep it from getting worse. Sugar is bad for that too. He would REALLY have a difficult time cutting back on things - of course he'd say he will just put his mind to it but it's far more than just giving up candy or cookies.

We are going to the Senior Center for lunch - carby spaghetti. I will give half of mine to DH and skip the garlic bread. We were supposed to go on the boat this afternoon but my stomach has been really rolling after I eat anything. I had to take some TUMS the other night and when I do that things get out of balance for a few days and just about anything upsets my stomach so I'm trying to find a way to gracefully deter him. Tomorrow won't work - I have swimming in the morning, TOPS meeting then I am debating about running into town because the guy with the fresh Gulf shrimp is coming. And then there is bingo which will be horrendously busy. Me and my partner are both hoping the jackpot goes so we can get some rest! Tonight is supposed to be clear after midnight and there is a chance to see the Northern Lights so not sure if DH will want to go out. He made a friend who has a place by the water that is dark and perfect for catching them - just don't know exactly when or IF - you have to make a thermos of coffee, dress comfortably and be prepared to sit for hours!

Annie - how nice - didn't realize you had a long vacation planned? Are you staying home? I guess with the holiday mid week you can extend a few days into something worthwhile! You must be in a great mood!!! :willpower: to stay true to Keto over that time. As for the casino, yes I don't like smokey places either - we go on Sunday mornings - not much action on the blackjack table for DH but it's pretty empty in there (everyone in church) and so I have my choice of machines and the smokers are few and far between. By the time noon comes, it gets busy and stinky and time to go. Anyway I hope you have great weather and enjoy your needed time off. Is it super hot by you too? I love baked zuchinni - I'm sure you don't put panko on it or do you use the pork rinds for extra crispy bits?

Susie - ugh Windows 10 - I need a new computer too. Not looking forward to the switch over. I hope you can find things quickly - that's the biggest hassle as I'm sure people expect instant answers from Super Susie at work. No time to figure out "what happened to..." Yay for you for running and trotting and adding more to your treadmill workout. And to be able to run a whole mile is fantastic! Keep up the good work. Did you get some new swimsuits and will you be using them?

Laura - ok, I was wondering HOW you'd do strength moves while riding a bike! Now I see you had to dismount to do them. And yes, that was not some logical thinking when developing that workout video. Good for you for trying something different! I have no idea why your fonts are so out of whack when you post but I'm getting used to it. At least I can tell it's you posting!!

Ceejay- I wonder if Miley will be happy to settle in at one place or if she will miss her car rides. Did you get the bank stuff all completed?

Sitting in an airport, so thought I might get on here and catch up. On my way back to Brisbane, end of holiday. I had a great time with a wonderful old friend then dinner with my family last night. I'm tired, haven't slept well but will bounce back tomorrow no doubt. Have no cat or dog to wake me in the morning. Travelled back from NZ with a hunky rugby union team. Nice. My niece is green with envy since I was chatting to her hero. I sent her a photo. Okay, finally they are about to call my flight. I'm looking forward to getting home. Only another couple of hours.
June Bonet. Welcome, where you from.

Good this is Friday for me! Jazzed to say the least.

I made keto beef tips for dinner. YUMMY! White rice for the crew. Mixed veggies. What a delish dinner. The tips do not have a creamy sauce to them. They are fried/sauteed in a garlic herb butter. RAVES from S and C. Got the tips from the meat market rather than Kroger, makes a huge difference. Tonight for the crew, ham fried rice made with the leftover white rice. Also going to make sausage patties from meat market sausage. I will saute extra veggies for the rice so I can have that with my sausage.

Chair massage last night. It was wonderful. She sure knows where to hit the tight/balled up spots to give me relief. I have signed up for Monday next week then will probably hit her again on Thursday since I am on vacation. Trying to keep it at once a week, 15$ for the massage and 5 for the tip. Just cannot justify 40$ a week normally. However next week I am on vacation, that is my justification. lol Since I don't get Starbucks anymore or just rarely, that is my compromise.

Tomorrow, 1st day of vacation we are bug bombing the house. We are taking the kids and dogs and going over to my bro and SILs. We are picking up lunch on the way. BLEH, White Castle. Guess I will get 6 cheeseburgers less the bun. Hopefully that will equal one real burger. haha.

SUSIE...glad you are back on the exercise wagon and feeling great. Hope the scales are in your favor tonight. Good luck. Happy you are getting back to you mojo!

SHADDIE...safe travels and glad you had a great time in NZ and the eye candy had to help. Bet miss kitty will be glad to get back home. I think the dog just makes himself happy wherever he is.

JUNE...welcome to the club. Please come back and introduce yourself and chime right on in. We love new peeps! This is a great group of gals also.

Will have to go back and read HAPPY as it is on the previous page and I don't dare not post this first.

To be continued....

HAPPY...here comes July, the next quarter, new thread. Sat is the last day of June. Where does time go, pretty soon we will be battling S and it will C time. Yes indeed, vacation. Doing a staycation. Tuesday, Sam, boys, Bro and SIL, Sam's friend Meg and two girls are all going to the waterpark on the north side of Indy. We all went last year and had a ball. I truly looking forward to that. The 4th we are having a very small cookout. Probably just us. Then going to fireworks with Bro and SIL to a small town south of Indy about 40 minutes. They do a great show and it is not so crowded. C may even be able to go. ) As far as the zucchini chips in the oven. Salt, pepper and lots of shaved parmesan on top of each one. Then bake. The parmesan melts and browns and makes them crispy. Very good and don't miss the bad stuff-breading. All in what you get used to I suppose. Your homemade tacos sound delish. One of my favorite meals. Too many carbs for you sister- potatos, corn, spaghetti, however the shrimp sounds wonderful. Love, Love, Love fresh cooked shrimp and cocktail sauce. So glad you are finding some fun in the new TOPS group. Strength in numbers. Yes it is hotter than Hades here. We are supposed to be in triple digit heat index. 90s degree weather with heat index added. Def staying inside or laying in water outside. Yard work will have to be in early morning. Hoping to spray for weeds but in early morning. Enjoying DHs humminbird pics on FB. We have only had two this year. We have 4 feeders out but not really any HB. Sad cause I like watching them.

OK that is a wrap for me. HELLO to LAURA and CEEG, Dee if you are lurking.

Happy vacation week, little to no posting from me during vacation. Love you girls, prayers to all. Hugs.
