Default morning.

I've had to maneuver my way to Golden Corral this morning. Driving in Branson is out of my comfort zone. Niece has an all day meeting their with the health department. I made it there and back cause the traffic wasn't to bad. May be another story this afternoon.
I made it to the gym and have my exercise completed. Now yo make healthy choices for lunch and dinner. Gotto drink plenty of water today also. It's hot.

Susie
Dont blame your dh for mowing when its cooler. I've as always enjoyed our family get togethers too.

Happy,
Did you sell the pontoon? You and DH ought to get that out on the water and have some relaxation time!
Think I would let the others deal with putting out the fires.

Annie
How was the concert?

Shad, Laura, Dee have a good day.

Happy Monday/Tuesday....

Steve Miller and Peter Frampton can rock the stage for sure. THEY ARE 72 and 74 YEARS OLD...Not a quiver in their voices and still bounce around the stage. Bet they don't have arthritis. lol. What a fabulous concert. We had a blast. Was a bit warm out however there was a breeze and we had end of row seats. The kids kind of beeeaaaached about the heat and were sweating. I was ok and did not sweat and hey I forgot to wear deodarant. I am a freak. Peter F came on stage when Steve M was performing and they did two blues numbers together. Wow just WOW. Well worth the $$. Traffic was ok getting in to park. Getting out was ok but directed us the wrong way out (only way) and had to drive around in the country finding our way. Was home by midnight.

Up at 6 am to go to Royce's ballgame. Always entertaining and so cute. Jacob had a tournament game at 9:45 am so we stayed at the ball field. They lost that game and ball is over for Jacob. He is happy and does not want to play next year. That breaks my heart but not going to force him. We left the ball field and had lunch then off to my BRO and SIL house as they had two trees taken down. We helped with the sawing and staking of wood. OMGosh it was so hot and humid. 95 degree heat and humidity. Bugs a biting. Stayed there till 7:30. I mostly picked up sticks and twigs and threw them in the pile for burning at a later cooler date. We did get some wood for our pit. We all came home and took showers and went to bed. SO tired.

Sunday up at 6 am. Coffee then church. After church we took C to lunch for father's day. Both my kids went also. The grands were at their dad's still. Once we got home, Sam and I cleaned out the little 2 ft deep-6 ft across pool and filled it back up. She and I went swimming...haha. The kids came home and joined in. C had to go to work after lunch. Dinner was every man for themselves. Bed by 9.

Here I am at work trying to post. Busy Monday to say the least. Tomorrow Gaye (from work) and I are going to taco Tuesday for lunch. Can't eat the chips or shells but dumped out tacos make a great salad then douse with salsa. Slap on some sour cream and yum yum..

HAPPY...glad to hear you will get some time to yourself for an entire week. Take it easy the first day and just lounge around or something fun you like to do for you. Read in your chair nook. OMGosh I would poo a square turd if I won 5300 at a casino. Not going to happen as I have never stepped foot in a casino. Not sure I could stand the cig smoke. Would rather not. Sorry, beets in any form are disgusting to me. Enjoy yours. Poor kitchen girl having to do everything. What stops her from walking out. Is it a paid position or volunteer like you? She needs to speak up for herself. We could use some of your rain. Sad to say but we could. Keep getting forecasts of rain but it goes all around us and we don't get a drop. Awesome TOPS is working out for you. I agree if you are not going to WI what is the point of a WL group. Baffling some people are. And yes, we can tell you are not 105 lbs. As far as the pool situation, I think corps realize, Oh look this is working out, let's charge more for it. Greed it is all about greed.

SUSIE...happy happy joy joy. Yahoo Genny is home and can go back to treatment. Hope she does well and gets healed permanently. Still praying. VA beach in July, you will roast your mcmuffins off. I have been there in August and it is hot, hot, hot. New bathing suit, 3 sizes smaller was a wonderful thing. Thank you for the birthday wishes, it was nice. Thank you for the FB wish also. Goodluck this week at TOPS.

CEEG...just cause you moved doesn't mean you have to change your cell number. I mean it doesn't really matter what area code you are in. It is a MOBILE phone. What is the niece's plans for the rest of her journey?

DEE...Your son sounds like a great catch for someone. Hope he finds what he is looking for. The fishing tournament sounds like a fun time for all.

LAURA...kind of neat you found your pass at the rec center but now you have to work your bunz off. Giddy up! Too hot and steaming for yard work. Hope you didn't melt down into a little pile. I know we did on Saturday afternoon cutting and gathering wood. I would rather on-line shop more than any kind of shopping. Did you get anything?

SHADDIE....come up for air sister.

and with that it is a wrap. Hugs to all.

Afternoon all.

Ceejay – Glad you have a more convenient bank now. Doesn’t sound like it was too much of a PITA to change the direct deposits to the new bank. == I can understand how practicing on the piano would be more helpful than your own keyboard – they each have a completely different feel.

Dee – Sounds like a wonderful time with your grandson!

Susie – I hope the half-dose chemo leaves Genny with no severe side effects. == Yeh, bf also did the lawn last week before the really hot weather hit. == I’m sure you love seeing your nephews – they’re young and probably look like they’ve grown each time you see them! == Re JCP, yes I bought two tops online and they both are keepers. I still have more of the gift card $ to use, so I’ll have to shop some more. == Vacation!

Happy – I thought *this* week was your own? Make sure nothing gets on your calendar for next week!! == Wow, what a lot of rain. I think we’re getting some tonight. == So who won the bingo email wars? Will there be any changes for this week’s bingo?

Annie – I’m so glad you enjoyed the concert. Heard a Frampton song on the radio this morning and thought of you. Yep, they are an example of "use it or lose it" – using it - their voices and their bodies - are keeping them in the game! == Ugh, can’t imagine doing the physical labor outdoors when it was so darn hot out this past weekend. == Maybe J will change his mind about playing ball when the time comes again next year…

Hi Shad! Are you ready for your trip to NZ??

==

Not much to report. I had a hair appointment Saturday morning. Stopped by the bakery afterwards (loaf of rye bread) and then the thrift shop. Bought a v-neck t-shirt and a tank top that looked like it had never been worn, both for under $6. I have v-neck t-shirts on my radar because I don’t like wearing crew neck tops, especially for exercise. Didn’t shop online, but I have a couple things I might order from a Lands End catalog. Need to order tonight if I want to use the 40% off coupon.

I mostly stayed in the house over the weekend because it was hot as heck. Got a lot of laundry done - it was comfortable in the basement.

I did a 10 minute kettlebell workout I found on youtube and that was it for exercise this weekend. My back and hip (both on left side) were bothering me and I decided to take it easy. I took the carbon fiber insert out of my sneaker this morning – the one for the bad foot. I think that’s why my back and hip are wonky lately. It makes that foot sit higher in the shoe and of course changes the way I walk. f the back and hip don’t stop bugging me in a week or two, I’m going to finagle a referral to a chiro for a treatment – i.e., MASSAGE. (Annie - were your massages covered by insurance??) And…not sure why, but my pinky is still feeling sore. That’s the one that I bashed on the train seat handle while walking down the aisle at least a month ago, probably longer. Wondering if I just need to get myself to the doc and see if an x-ray is needed on it. I usually like to wait a while and then whatever’s hurting just goes away without my noticing, but this has been a while.

Okay, enough of the whining (even though I haven’t even got to the work stuff yet). I’ll save it for tomorrow, because I need to get back to work now. TTFN ladies.

Happy Taco Tuesday...yep I am going. Acapulco Joes here we come. Co-worker and I are going at 11 then meeting at 12.

Nothing happening much at home. Too hot to move. Made BBQ chicken, cauliflower and cucumbers/onions. That was it. It was enough. I didn't do so well after that on eating. Back to day one today.

LAURA....the massage is NOT considered insurance worthy. She is educated in massages but not sure she is licensed. She only does chair massages. They help me and at only 1$ a minute, it is not too bad. 15$ a week now, plus the 5$ tip. My trouble now is where my legs connect to my hips, at bend are giving me pain. Not sure what the heck that is about. I have a 6 mo check up with my primary care doc on Thursday and will be sure to mention that. Been fight a headache off and on for about a month also. I attribute that to the heat, humidity and crazy weather. I guess we just have two seasons any more. Summer-Winter. Maybe the insert in your shoe is part of the reason the foot is not healing well. I don't know, I question everything these days. Guess we need to realize as we age everything hurts here and there. Now I understand why my momma was in so much pain. Sorta, she had medical issues to big to fight even tho she tried. Good on you for getting a bit of exercise in. Knowing me and my love for exercise (NOT) I would throw the kettle ball out the window.

Hello to the rest of ya's. Stay cool/warm and healthy. Hugs

Morning
Sis hasn't said anymore about getting someone to mow but that's okay. I will do it with the rider.
Nephew and his wife are looking at houses. He told me last night that they were putting in an offer on one. It's 5 bedrooms 3 baths and a huge basement. and in the country. To me it just seems to far away from everything. But hey its their decision.

Annie
Some of the older groups can still give a good performance. Glad you enjoyed the concert.

Happy
It's good to hear you say that you have a week off. You deserve that.

Laura,
When I'm home I want to be a sloth and enjoy my surroundings with the peace and quiet.

Susie
Good to hear that your friend Gennie is back at home. Wishing her all the best.

Hello to Shad and Dee

Hmmm, where is everyone~

Made chicken salad with leftover BBQ chicken. We all know that is what happens after a night of other chicken... It was tasty. More cucumbers and onions per request from the crowd. I had mine on a bed of romaine lettuce, green pepper and onion. So very tasty that way. Bought tickets for Polar Express train ride with the grands. That is not til December 1st, but have to buy now in order to get tickets. Also got movie tickets for Samantha, the boys, C and I to go see Jurassic World new one. We are going Friday night. I am on the fence about even wanting to see it. We are going to see it in 3D. Should scare the begeezers out of all of us when the dinosaurs roar at us. haha. Nightmares a coming.

CEEG...Wow that is a huge house nephew is buying. 5 bedrooms in the country. I do like country living as long as it is no more than a 10 minute ride to the nearest town. How is Miley doing?

This site has changed all my settings. Weird.

Hello to all. Make it a wonderful hump day/night. Hugs

Good morning all,

Yes Annie, something is indeed weird and different about posting today. Funny how a small thing can so easily throw us off.

Well I decided to help someone out who was badly needed some help so I am working the center 3 days this week. This I know to be true - I CANNOT HANDLE GETTING A FULL TIME JOB AGAIN Worked Monday all day. Didn't sleep well Monday night. Was tired and achy and sluggish yesterday. The phones are ringing off the hook, people are getting downright RUDE because they call at the last minute (or close to it) and we can't get them on the bus. One lady had me make 13 advance reservations Monday only to call and cancel all but 2 yesterday. I'm not sure if she is having some mental difficulties which can happen. I was really tired when I left but we really didn't have enough in the house to make dinner so I stopped at the grocery store which was an hour's trip. At least we have fresh fruits and vegetables and light things for sandwiches and salads to eat. I've been eating carry out for several days now or at the Senior Center and the scale is not my friend. Of course I haven't been swimming either and I feel the lack of that too.

Today after "work" I have an evening Board of Directors Meeting for the Humane Society. Would prefer to skip that but I can't. It's going to be a long day. Tomorrow I am debating about skipping swimming, I have my TOPS meeting at 11 and then I go and get my hair colored and cut at 2 and will probably just head to bingo early because if I go home, it will only be for about 30 minutes before I have to turn around and come back again. Sunday I agreed to work a book sale at the Thrift Shop. And then next week thank heavens I have all to myself. Going to try and keep the week after that the same. I have sooooo much laundry to do. Yeah, I know, poor me right?

Annie - you make doing Keto sound so easy. I guess it's just a mindset you develop after a couple of weeks of giving alot of thought to what you are eating. Still as I picked up tasty summer fruits yesterday I was thinking, I could not give these up. Portion control, you bet but total walk away - boo hoo!!! I smiled at your comment about dinosaur nightmares - especially in 3D I can relate. Wow on the Polar Express tickets. Now the IMPORTANT thing is --- make sure you put them in a place you can find them by December I hope the doctor can help with the hips - might be bursitis or a weak I.T. band (medical, not the computer kind). Deal with it now because otherwise it will give you a host of issues. And yes, it might involve gentle stretching - don't think of it as exercise!!!

Ceejay - is this the nephew that is working on his relationship with his wife? 5 bedrooms is a LOT of house to manage. It's nice to have the storage but... still an awful lot of space. It is tempting when you are house hunting and see all these beautiful properties. You've been very busy - I hope you can get some sitting around the house too.

Laura - I like V neck shirts because I always get makeup on crew necks and v necks show off a necklace nicely if you wear one. If your shoes are at an uneven height, it will definitely cause a back issue after a while. Hope the shoe insert removal works. Always something we are dealing with. Speaking of which - probably should get the pinky looked at so that you didn't fracture it or something.

Hello to Shad, Susie and Dee

Time for me to get moving before they call looking for me like yesterday. Have a good one.

Afternoon all
.

Annie – How was Taco Tuesday?? Yum. == Bummer the massages weren’t covered by insurance, but they were very reasonably priced. Don’t you hate the aches and pains that arise and then you worry they’re never going to go away? I guess we’re now at that age when that's a concern… == Re the shoe insert – the purpose of that is to do what those medical/walking boots do, but without wearing a giant clunky boot. So it’s supposed to protect and stabilize the foot while it heals. But, when you do that, the boot (and the insert) make your feet an uneven distance from the ground and throw off your whole body alignment. My co-worker has been wearing her boot for a couple years because of her charcot disease and she’s been having back and hip pain for some time. So anyway, it’s supposed to help, but then it messes up some other part of your body. So... I’m not using that insert anymore as of Monday and I hope my body is happier without it and my bad foot will be okay without it. -- You’re a good planner – ready for the polar express that’s 6 month away!! I hope you enjoy the Jurassic movie in 3D. Looks scary – the tv commercial showing the dinosaur and his teeth right up in that little kid’s face!!

Ceejay – Good luck to your nephew and his wife with the house hunting. As the others said – that’s a lot of house!

Happy – Busy day for you tomorrow! I’m glad you’ve kept next week open for yourself, and fingers that you can do the same for the following week!! Be strong!!

Hellos to Shad, Susie & Dee!

I didn’t work out because of my back yesterday. It’s somewhat better today. But still achey, and so is the hip. Been using ibuprofen. Dithering over working out tonight. Not sure about the rowing either, though I don’t think it’s causing the issues. Might just row, but take it easy. I also looked at a rowing forum online and saw that the resistance should be kept at mid-level. So I won’t pursue increasingly higher resistance any time soon, and will back it off today to the 4-5 level (this rower has 16 levels).

I ordered some items from Lands’ End last night using a 40% off promo, nothing too exciting. Ordered enough to get free shipping too, big whoop. This’ll sound odd, but the stuff I ordered is part of their school (uniform) offerings. They not only sell kid sizes, but adult sizes. I'd already tried a pair of their yoga pants and liked them, so I ordered another pair in a different color. Also bought two plain cotton cardigan sweaters and a pair of sweat pants. Yes, I need a major wardrobe overhaul, even the basics like these!

Today was a quarterly performance check-in with the boss. Not bad at all. I’ve definitely had worse!! Just have to keep plugging away – at the least, I need to stay employed here until I reach my retiree benefit eligibility milestone next July, which is when I’ll reach 55 y.o.. I’ve already surpassed 15 years of service, but you need both to be eligible for certain benefits!

Okay, gotta run. TTFN!

Good morning ladies,

I see Laura's post in a variety of mixed fonts and sizes which I'm sure she didn't do on purpose. Strange looking...

I can't wait to get through today although I enjoy our TOPS meetings and I'm at wits with my hairdresser as I'm kinda not liking my hair lately. I don't think she's putting a lot of effort into it. Part of me thinks it's that you are old, fat and invisible thing - ie. more fun to do younger people with better hair that look better when you're done. I waiver between saying something or dealing with what I have - I know with the gray hair the texture is different and the hair doesn't behave the same way younger hair would. And then tonight is going to be tiring at bingo. The bingo caller is going to miss 2/3 of the game time because he has to work late now so that puts more pressure on us running around and handling things. We need to get more people - good luck with that, right?

I have a mountain of laundry to do - DH offered to help but he washes things and then leaves them in the dryer for 8 hours so everything is totally wrinkled which isn't much help at all so I said thank you but no. Things have dried up here a bit from last weekend's torrential rains so I will be able to wash a few more loads than last week as the ground should be able to absorb the water better. The Shelter board meeting went well - we actually got out EARLY and that never happens and I was not asked to do anything extra other than put up a few posters so I was pleased with that too.

This weekend is our first big summer festival of the year. I was originally going to work at the thrift shop tomorrow morning but had to change it to Sunday afternoon when I thought I'd have to work at the Senior Center. So now I'm glad I have Friday and Saturday to myself. I might meander over to town and check out some of the booths - mostly they have the same sort of craft stuff and town is a mess because they tore up 2 of the main roads in the downtown area and were supposed to be done last weekend but when we got all this heavy rain and flooding - it caused more problems and put them behind. So traffic will be a total mess - it's busy enough as it is and they lost a ton of parking because of the road closures. We'll see how the foot feels. At least the weather will be co-operative.

I guess I'm going to skip the vegetable garden this year. They have some planter boxes at the Senior Center and a new employee was sent out to find plants and she said the pickings are very slim. Most garden places have put their stock on sale to get rid of it and there is little to nothing in the traditional variety of tomatoes, cucumbers and salad offerings. I can't say I mind - our growing season is so short and a bit off on the weather and it just messes things up. I will have to pull the weeds out and clean and cover the beds - might be a good thing to give them a rest and built up the soil.

Laura - after experiencing the problems with the uneven shoe heights - I wondered why they just didn't make those things in pairs - at least to keep the hips and knees in alignment. I have some inserts and even though I don't need them in the left shoe, I wear both because it helps keep things aligned. I hope you are feeling better in a few days as your body readjusts. I've gotten some things from the Land's End School line - sweaters and polo shirts. I think they make them in certain colors (navy and gray) because the schools have gotten away from the gaudy plaid stuff we wore as kids and have more neutral but consistent colors. My only complaint about Lands End was that I found the binding on the sweaters does not hold up well - after about 20 washings it starts to come apart and there's no way to really fix it.

Not sure why but it feels like Friday to me - I was going to wish you all a good weekend and then I realized it's only Thursday

I should pick up a few things and then jump in the shower so I'll sign off. Have a good DAY all

Good Friday morning/night/tomorrow!

Had my 6 mo check up for meds yesterday. I got a shingles vac and a tetnas shot. Geez, my arm feels like it is going to fall off. My body hurts and just feel achy. Slight low grade fever. All side effects of the shots. Bleh. This too shall pass. I stopped at Papa Murphy's on the way home. Got a Greek pizza for dinner to bake. It was quite yummy altho the crust looked so tasty, I passed on it and ate the toppings only. (Spinach, tomato, feta cheese, black olives, pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, red sauce).

Great catch on stopping at Starbucks for my free birthday strawberry green unsweet tea. They accidentally made just a green tea so they gave that to me too. S.C.O.R.E!! Deposited my stash money at the bank on the way to work also. Stopped and filled up my gas. Got 20 cents off a gallon. Kroger's reward points. Kroger's free Friday coupon (download), if you have a Kroger is a loaf of Curtis's new bread. Nature's Own Perfectly Crafted Bread in white or multigrain. My PSA for today.

HAPPY...glad you are taking a week to yourself, no volunteering, and no answering the phone either. Get it, Got it, GOOD!! KETO...don't think for one minute I don't drool over lovely fruit. I am on the fence about bananas. But since I cannot have them, the bananas on my counter that the boys and C eat are forever calling my name. Lot of times I just go through the kitchen saying shut the heck up all you fruity nerds. Now let's talk watermelon, Gosh that is such a hard one not to eat also. Right up there with popcorn. I guess it is all a matter of what I want more. To feel better (aches and pains) and lose weight/maintain or eat the bad stuff which is really good stuff just not Keto. Heck I don't even like chocolate and the d*mn oreos call me. Like what the heck is up woth that. Hugs my dear friend.

LAURA...Taco Tuesday was yummy as usual. It was hard not to eat the free chips and salsa but I made it through. Go easy on your body/foot on exercising and don't strain the already problem areas. You know, I wouldn't even exercise if I were you. bahaha Great catch at Land's End. I have a JCP 20% off coup but cannot find anything I want. Glad your quarterly check in went well. That is a lot of checking in, 4X a year. Is this something that is recorded/written or just a verbal thing?

CEEG...safe travels home this weekend. Are you taking Miley with?

Hello to all...Hugs.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought this was strange this morning. .

I'm with ya'll on nephew's house. Not sure if they got it or not. I asked him who was going to clean it. He said his wife. I said no no she isn't going to clean that by herself. Not sure who asked but yes this is the nephew who was living with me for a while last year. They are really working on things.

I'm going home today to get some things done. I've cleaned the condo yesterday and now it's time for my house to be clean.
Worked on getting some things transferred from one bank to the the new bank. This is taking some time But that's alright.
More later. It's getting time to go outside and finish the yard work. Yep told sis that I would do it. I just need more time.

Hi Everyone. Work got really busy and I just was tired all week. I am pretty upset with myself as I didn't exercise at all and it showed at TOPS with a gain.

I will be back on the bike and treadmill today.

We had a great time at the family reunion. It was really hot! We also got a rain shower for about 15 min that made it hotter. But we all stayed outside, the kids had a great time with the water ballon toss and we all talked and ate.

Genny didn't do chemo this week and we think it is over with. Her chemo doctor and surgeon and radiologist are all meeting with her next Thursday so they can decide on surgery and radiation. Her chemo doctor said her gut is telling her Genny is allergic to that chemo and she would have respitory failure again. Thank you for continued prayers for her.

DH had a doctor appointment with the colon surgeon. She manages the fistula he has had for almost 4 years.

He had lost 10 lbs this past year and has kept of 25 That He lost before. She has decided that he needs to lose another 10 to 15 lbs and we will then do surgery. She is going to have him work on losing the 10 to 15 lbs for the month of July and Aug and then 1st two weeks of September he will do a liquid diet to get off another 10 lbs and he will have surgery.

So, DH and I are both starting today to be more mindful with the food and active with the exercise and get back to losing the lbs.

I am going to go clean the kitchen and bathroom so I can get them finished before my hair appointment. I will post personals later.

Hope the doctor's can figure out the next step for Genny. Dh is sure having a time getting his surgery too. Hope he can lose the weight soon. I've found that exercise is the key to my weight loss and I can tell when I do not do it.

Started my day off at 7 this morning. I still haven't done a lot. I did go pick up some string for the weed eater as I have to finish the back yard today. I went to the mailbox and almost fell off the step. Felt like my foot stuck to the ground. I did manage to stay upright.
Yesterday was a total bomb. I was a complete sloth and with bad eating habits, potato chips and ding dongs all day long. sigh. Today is going to be better. I've already planned it.
Off to do the yard.work.
Still haven't heard whether the nephew has bought th house.

Made it back for personals. Only one more load of laundry to finish and then I can head to bed.

Now let’s see if I can remember what I read. 😊

Ceejay: Glad to hear you got back on track after the binge yesterday. Sometimes it seems we can’t help ourselves and it always leaves us feeling badly. I think that every time I ever binge, if I just sat down with a big glass of water and then just sat back or laid down and closed my eyes I could get past the binge. I am going to try my best to remember that.

I am glad you didn’t lose your balance when your foot felt like it was stuck to the ground.

Annie: I am so jealous of the concert you went to. That is my sort of thing and it sounds like it was amazing. It is amazing to me how old rockers still can jam!

Laura: Does taking the insole out of your shoe lead to your foot pain? It seems like you are dealing with a catch-22 between the foot and the back. I would just do whatever makes you feel better at the time.

Glad to the work check-in went well. We will be wrapping up our performance reviews at work. We do them as our fiscal which starts in July and ends in June of the following year. I will be working on that document. I keep a spreadsheet of things I have done by the month so I just need to go back and pull those together and write them up pretty for my manager to read.

Happy: So this upcoming week is a “Happy” only week? No other outside commitments? Enjoy!

Hello to Shad and Dee.

My nephew had an open house at their house today. They have to sell their house first. They put in an offer on the house they looked at but they had a counter offer so they can't go any further until their house sells.
I' m getting excited about our reunion next weekend.
Miley stayed at the condo this weekend. But I'm bringing her back here for the fourth. When my niece gets settled in somewhere then I will bring her home for good.
Nothing exciting has happened today except going to church.
