Morning
Happy Valentines day to everyone. It's a dreary and misty but not raining. The temperature is supposed to make it in the mid 60's. The animals have been up but now they are down for a nap. My quiet time. Sis has been taking the dog down to the park for a romp in the morning before she goes to work so that has helped me out a bunch. My niece is on her way back home. Think I'm going to change my Arkansas phone number to a Missouri.
This may be to much information but my colon crimps every once in a while and it did that the past couple of days. Today it feels better. Also my bunion is very painful this week so when I get through at the dentist I may have that done. My exercising has caused that.
Meeting my BIL later this afternoon in Ozark to pick up niece. He's driving to Kansas City to pick her up this morning.

Happy Valentine's Day ladies,

We are actually supposed to get to 30 degrees today. First time in months. I'm not crazy about this as things will melt for one day and then we are going to the hard freeze again so it will just make a mess. My head is fuzzy today with vertigo. Sinus pressure. I will take a Claritin or something and see if that helps. We did pick out another kitty yesterday - an 8 month old who looks just like Nina. This one is from a barn/feral colony and they got her as a kitten so she needs a bit of socialization and is on the shy side so we are hoping she will not be intimidating and work out with Neurotic Nina. We are picking her up today as she needed another worming treatment (very typical). We are naming her BeMinEE (bee-min-eeee) a rift on Be Mine since we are picking her up on Valentine's Day. We will keep them apart for a couple of days to let BeMinEE get used to the new place and then will introduce them. I have yoga this afternoon and we are going to the Italian restaurant for dinner tonight.

Ceejay - sorry you are feeling so icky. Can the cramping be food related? You might also be having dairy issues. Alot of us get lactose intolerant as we get older. That causes bad cramping and other problems. Write down what you eat for a few days and how you feel or eliminate certain foods for a week and then add them back in to see what happens (dairy, peanuts, soy). Make sure you REALLY need the bunion surgery before you have it. It's a tough surgery because of cutting into the bone.

Dee - our cat adoption fees are $60 - not bad since it includes shots, spay and neuter. I think it's a misnomer that shelter animals are "damaged" or less perfect than breeders animals. All you need is love and sometimes the perfect breeder animal is high strung and some unscrupulous people who run puppy mills pose as breeders. I say give the orphans love. A whole lot of shelter animals unnecessarily killed each year due to people who won't fix their pets and unwanted litters. Many of the people around us say their shelter pet was the most lovable and loyal pet they ever had. And that's all I have to say about that. I thank anyone who tells me they are a rescue pet parent. We have walleye up here but not the easiest thing to catch I hear. BUT they are darn good eating when you can get them - lucky you have extra for additional meals. Thanks for the info on the patterning. I remember using some of my own pants for adjusting the fit on a pattern long long ago when I sewed and that really does help alot.

Annie - You just can't catch a break with this cold stuff. That's why I'm anal and freaky to avoid sick people. I don't know what to offer for advice other than lots of rest, wash your hands (and hand sanitizer) and eat nutrious foods. Get that miracle Jewish deli or Chinese chicken soup and gobble it down. I know it's frustrating to deal with the weight gain of the steroids but take some comfort in knowing it's not because of falling off the wagon with eating and you will be back in fighting shape once you get healthy again. Thank you for the info on Michelle. I'm sorry to hear she lost her job. When you work for non profits like that it's always nerve wracking when it comes to funding. Animals first and sometimes the humans have to suffer. Hope she finds something else quickly.

Laura - ouch on the sore rib! I always have problems with underwires so I just opt for droppy and comfortable! I hope you can feel better - coughing will definitely aggravate the condition and ribs take a lonnnng time to heal from what I understand. I cannot believe the continuous amount of problems with Metra! And for what it costs to ride the train that is ridiculous. Used to be public transportation was much less of a hassle than driving. Not so much it seems.

Shad - did you survive the next round of storms? Is this seasonal with the intensity? I felt bad for the cat in all that heat (pic you posted on FB). At least WE can take our fur off DId you have a good lunch with your friend?

Ok ladies, I need to get the room prepared for bringing little bit home. Have a good day - spread some love today. ♥

Morning all. Happy Valentine’s Day.

Ceejay – Ugh, cars are so expensive – to buy, maintain, repair. And they keep making them more and more computerized, which makes them even more expensive! But cars are one of those necessary evils for just about everyone. == I’m glad your gut feels better today. I agree with Happy – track what you’re eating and see if you need to cut something out. == My bunion has been bothering me lately too. I’d like to take a break from wearing my boots because I think that’s part of the issue, but until the snow goes away, I’m going to have to continue wearing them.

Dee – No offense to you - I know you used to breed dogs (do you still do that?) - but because there are so many dogs in shelters and rescues that need homes, I wouldn’t buy a dog from a breeder. The $60-80 adoption fee doesn’t sound like all that much to me. I think if that adoption fee is a barrier for someone, they should look closely at their financial situation and consider if they really can afford to have a pet and care for it properly – food, training, medical care. And also if they can afford the time commitment. == Thanks for the fitting tips. I did compare the rise on the pattern to the rise on a pair of existing pj pants in which I like the fit, and I adjusted the pattern for that. (Because that was an issue with a previous pj project). I think it was the overall pattern size that I chose that was wrong. In general, I don’t like spending too much time in a “trial and error” mode – be it sewing or cooking. I just want it to come out right the first time. That said… making a “prototype” garment out of inexpensive fabric is a good idea.

Happy – I hope Nina and the new kitty become good buddies. == Sorry you’ve got sinus and vertigo issues. I hope the Claritin helps. == Enjoy your yoga class and your dinner out tonight.

Hellos to Annie & Susie!!

=
Not much to report. I missed my usual train this morning and took the next one. That train was two cars short and once again people were standing in the aisle. I was thankful I didn’t have to.

It’s quiet here today – I’m the only one here from the department. The guy in the office behind on the other side of my cube appears to be out today too. I’m getting used to hearing him in his office since he moved in there a few months ago. We’re on a quiet floor in a quiet area (no on in the cubes adjacent to me and the admin) and have been for years, but it’s good to get accustomed to more activity and noise in our area. When we move, the entire office will be on two big floors (vs. 4 currently), so there will be much more going on around us. Oh, and I think our cubes are going to be 10 inches lower than currently – more sound will carry, and I’m sure people standing and passing by will be distractions. I’m sure we’ll all adapt after a while.

Tonight’s Pilates class. I don’t want to skip it, but I do think, like last week, that I’m not going to be able to do much on the floor in terms of the core work (lifting up the head and shoulders in crunch type moves) because of that rib problem. Oh well. I’ll go anyway.

Okay, that’s it for me. I’ll get this posted.

Hello,
In response to my post to Happy I Never said anything bad about pet adoption. I said I think the adoption price is why many ppl buy from pet ads/breeders that some people are concerned a shelter pet is defective/unsafe in some manner, because I had emails & calls for my puppies when I was a doggy breeder, ppl had worries about shelter doggies being aggressive, unhealthy, abused or bad habits. That's upsetting, because some humans don't adopt children & teenagers for those same reasons, everybody deserves to have a family, human or animal & each of us has Love to give/share.

I've always supported our animal shelter by donating supplies, my money & I work as a volunteer when our seniors fly to Florida & Arizona, every November-April, doing pet grooming, assisting the Veterinarians, feeding pets & teaching beginner obedience classes, 8-12 hrs weekly for yrs, even when I worked my own business, I'd go on my weekends. No I do not volunteer the long weekly hours that Happy volunteers... But I do volunteer my time & my heart to pets. My dad was a dog obedience trainer & dad also trained sporting & herding dogs & he taught me that when the 'owner learns the skill of obedience training', he/she can train their pet & they 'bond forever with loyalty' & those pets become true family & will Never leave that home.

There is a need for breeders also, some people have specific needs, I do. In my 30's my allergies to pet dander became severe, if I hold a pet that's shedding & I'm in a room without a Hepa air-filter I'll get a allergy attack. When I'm volunteering at the shelter interacting with dogs, cats & birds I take my allergy RX & I wear a white filter mask to protect myself & afterwards I use a netti-pot & then wash my hair or shower.
When I was a doodle breeder it was to Help people who had pet allergies like myself, to enjoy the Love of pets like I do. My puppies were sold on a 4 month spay/neuter contract & I enforced it & with a agreement saying during the life of the dog if that home no longer wants that doggy, I'll take it back instead of them taking their doggy to a shelter. I micro-chipped aLL my puppies. I always interviewed puppy buyers & I referred many people to our local shelter.
Laura, you know my commitment when a 4 yr old lost doodle I micro-chipped was found in Chicago 3 yrs ago & I contacted you about that area where the Vet called me from. Thankfully the owner found their doggy & the Vet phoned me just before we left home to drive 6 hours in the winter with my Dh to bring that doggy home to live with us. The Vet assistant said the doggy would've gone immediately to a shelter if I hadn't micro-chipped him, but he'd go to the shelter in 24 hrs, so we were going to rescue him. I can't let that happen to any pet, especially anyone I raised for 8 weeks of life. Happy & I fully agree about pet adoption.

Okay girls, from reading my posts, you see now that I sometimes wear my heart on my sleeve. My feelings were hurt after reading Laura's comment & I know she wasn't criticizing me. Maybe I'm feeling the long winter weather blues today.

Hugs to everybody

Dee - On the train home & I saw your post. I didn't intend to be hurtful. I have nothing against responsible breeders like you. I just lean towards adoption. Hope you understand.

Laura ~
I wish people would give their pet a 'forever home' & also 'spay/neuter it & micro-chip' them.
Then we wouldn't need rescue pet shelters. Our county pet shelter has a program for: free spay/neutering & free micro-chipping & free shots application forms for low income people/homes. So they only need to buy a 3 yr county license & give a Loving home. So there is No excuse for pets going into a rescue pet shelter. I have nothing more to say.

Have a nice day

Good morning ladies,

Had an absolutely fantastic dinner last night - I will spare you the food porn. I am glad I had nothing other than coffee that day as I sure did clean my plate which I rarely do. For dessert they had sliced fresh strawberries and tossed them in a light balsamic glaze topped with a teeny spoon of marscapone cheese similar to a whipped cream. It was light and delicious - sometimes dessert can take you over the top and make you feel stuffed and bloated. I have to figure out how to recreate this.

BiMinEE the new kitty came home and immediately looked for places to hide. She did pop out a bit and eat some wet food I left for her and hopefully drank some water too - not eating and sitting on the coldish cement (I have the room warm) worries me the most. She is the cutest thing but really shy. If you can snatch and cuddle her, she is ok with it but is still scared and the cat manager said she would be that way for a few days until she adjusts. We will let her get her bearings and then introduce her to Nina. BiMinEE passed the first test - used the litter box downstairs with no issue.

Dee - I don't think there was any disrespect intended in the discussion - some of us are pro-shelter adopters because of the huge amount of cats and dogs that are destroyed. I think if someone wants a specific breed because of allergies as you say, then indeed - get what works for you. I also know that responsible breeders like yourself are also animal lovers and contribute to their welfare all around. But I'm still going to push the shelter adoptions

Shad - is this possibly a THIRD round of bad weather by you? I hope not. Heard the word cyclone tossed about too. Stay safe!

Laura - ugh, more people in the office and shorter cube walls? That can be distracting. But you will get more natural light in your area.

Annie - hope you are feeling better today.

Are you sticking to the work schedule and breaks Susie?

How's the weather by you Ceejay?

Sorry for the short post - I want to get a few things done before I head out to my last PT session. Not much time when I get back before I have to do bingo so a broken up day.

Later chicks

Morning all.

Shad - Gosh, hope you get out of the bad weather pattern you're in.

Dee - Agree, I wish people would be more responsible and thoughtful about the pets they choose and take the commitment seriously so that a pet would have a forever home.

Happy - I hope B. the kitty settles in nicely. When I read her name today, I notice you spelled it starting with Bi, not Be. And that made me read it as Bimini, which I knew was a place, but of course I had to go to Maps to tell me where. So it's a couple of islands in the Bahamas. Not a bad association at all, LOL. == Glad you enjoyed your dinner. That dessert sounds heavenly. And you're right, not too heavy or rich. == Re the office - yes more natural light with shorter cube walls. But even better is that the new office will have the offices on the inside and the cubes will be on outside - by the windows. Won't have to peek through someone's office door to see what the weather's doing outside the window...

Annie, Susie - Hope you're not buried under too much work - come up for air!

Hi Ceejay! Hope you enjoy the sun and mild temps I see in your forecast!

==
Nothing much from me. Pilates was alright last night. Today's payday. It's kind of dreary here, but the temps are in the low 40's today, so it's definitely okay by me for a winter day in February.

Gonna try to force myself to get to the circuit class tonight at the receplex.

That's it for me. Have a good day everyone!

Hey everyone....

62 degrees today and 38 tomorrow then warming up to back in the 60s by Monday. Great day in the neighborhood as I have Monday off for President's day past and present prez. Won't necessarily be celebrating that way but ill def enjoy my day off.

Dinner was keto fried chicken-boneless, skinless chicken breasts dipped in egg/heavy whipping cream then rolled in pork rind crumbs. I tell you ladies, if you have not tried this you should. The family prefers this breading and raves the entire meal about it. It does NOT taste like pork rinds once battered and fried in REAL butter. Delish. Made mashed potatoes for the crew and also California melody veggies in cheese sauce. Very very good. Stuffed. C ate two helpings of everything. Sam went back for veggies. C took chicken in his lunch too. There is enough chicken leftover to make chicken salad. Of course I make extra chicken for that purpose, chicken salad. Makes for an easy meal the next night. I know...Food Porn.

Ok, been on steroids since Monday. Already up 5 lbs. I know it will go back down once I finish the med however it is annoying to see that number on the scale. Stay off the scale Annie. Duh! I also have only pooed 1 time since Monday. Guess I am full of poo clean up to my eyes as they are brown. lol.

Spilled my coffe 3 times by the time I got into the office. On my jacket, on the auto carpet then on my desk at work. Bleh. I ate a small salad for lunch and my plate got too close to the edge of my desk. I then flipped the plate up and part of my salad went on the floor, desk, chair and my lap. Guess this is my dropsy doodle day. These clothes will def go into the laundry when I get home. Oh and ranch dressing on navy pants looks very lovely.

I told my son I would take him to Steve Miller Band concert if they ever came back to town, not guessing they would be here again since they were just here in 2014. Well guess what just went on sale. Bah. He and I will be going to see Steve Miller Band/Peter Frampton concert on June 15 evening. Sis will be going also. Same outdoor crowded venue that I do not like where Rod Stewart/Cindy Lauper will appear. Lord give me strength to get through all these people and parking issues.

HAPPY...Glad you had a wonderful dinner. The dessert you described could be keto. Bout like something from my keto cookbook. YUM on strawberries, if you can find decent ones this time of year. Most in our area are still partially white or bruised. Did you know that strawberries are one of very few fruits that do not ripen any more once they are picked? C read that off of a bottle cap with little tid bit facts. How true? I dunno. Yeah on the new kitty. I think I will call her BEA. Of course I call most cats, kitty. Try not to get to close to them as I am so allergic to them. Yes, just snatch and cuddle her, she will beg for it down the road. I am feeling better, thanks for asking. Afraid to say it out loud in jinxing myself. Breathing is smoother, a little more energy and head not so stuffy. Hope bingo goes well for you.

LAURA...Good on you for getting in your exercising. Yep I still don't like exercising and still don't do it. Are you yet considering a new doggie yet? Or is the heartbreak too fresh? What type would you get? Or just whatever connected to you at the shelter?

Posting this will be back, boss on phone.

Hello Everyone,

It seems the work madness never ends but I have not worked over this week. I could, I should but I didn’t.

However my home workouts have been pushed to the side. I did get one in on Monday night but Tuesday and Wednesday I spent in the home office, boxing up things from the file cabinets, the book shelf and baskets that I had on top of things.

The painters were coming today but they are now coming tomorrow. I let them know that no matter what, that painting has to be all done on Friday and if they have to work until 10 p.m. to get it done, so be it. I work with this contractor a lot and he said it will be done and it won’t take until 10 p.m.
I have the futon and the desk coming on Saturday and I want that office done for sure and the bathroom as I want to get my new things up in there and things in place. If they have to come back and do the hallway on Monday that will be ok as I am off but I’m not telling them that right now.

Happy: It sounds like you had a lovely Valentine’s Day and your new little kitty sounds so cute. I love her name!

Shad: I saw you posted more storms were happening….very scary times when they roll through like that. When you posted about using the grill to heat the water for coffee and such it remined me of when the hurricane winds came through from Hurricane Katrina about 10 yrs ago, many, including us, did not have any electric for 7 to 10 days.

I was happy that we had running water so I could shower and wash up dishes if we used any. People here all got their grills out and on our street we ate from our freezers and fridges and had family style meals together, we even got a rotation going on who would do hot things for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food got ate instead of spoiling. Those who had gas ovens, baked things. Those of us how had hot water heaters shared our bathrooms for showers and we washed dishes and we even did loads of laundry. People who had generators allowed people to put things in the fridge and freezers, dried clothes and there were others who took loads of clothes to the laundry mat to dry things.

It was really sort of fun and crazy but still fun. Not many of us knew each other but we got to know each other. I went 4 houses down every morning after my shower and dried my hair and then came back to get ready for work. It gave me hope in humanity again.

Ceejay: I think you have gotten good advice about tracking what you are eating to see what might be bothering you and causing the cramping/crimping. I hope you figure it out soon.

As for the bunions. I have friends who have had the surgery. It is a big one to have but once they healed they were glad that had done it.

Laura: What did you do to your rib or do you know. Did Pilates bother it last night? I think I would like the circuit class a lot. It keeps things moving but yet gives a variety.

Your comment about wearing boots all the time hit home. I know that when I wear the same shoes over and over I have trouble with my feet. It’s like they need a break from the same style of shoes after a few days. It helps me to wear thick socks and to change to different boots after a day or so.

My brown ones are a different style than my black ones and since I wear black ones so much, I have 3 different pairs. I also have been known to wear snow boots on the commute and take my shoes with me to change to inside the office. Maybe that would help?

Dee: I think that all of us here know you are an animal lover and were a very good breeder. You have a love for animals and respect and love them and it showed in the way you handled the dogs and puppies you had.

We all love you and respect you..so Sister-Friend, please know that and don’t let your feelings get hurt; you know the dark one in this world just loves to pit people up against each other over little things...we won’t give him any more power.

Annie: Steroids are a pain especially that weight gain aspect but like Happy said, it is temporary. I am glad to hear that the lungs were showing clear. I hope the antibiotics have gotten you back to good health and you are feeling better. Take it easy and don’t overdue.

Your time at the movies with the family made me smile….I could just picture you all in that row…..

Hi folks
Sis's credit card was hacked this week but thankfully only got her points but that was worth 500 dollars. Some how they managed to change the information on her account. Beware.
Niece got home late yesterday afternoon and was tired. I took the dog with me to meet her when I picked her up and I wish I'd gotten a picture. He was extremely happy to see her. I may have said it in a hateful manner this morning but I said this so both sis and niece could hear it. "If I come back home and find poop in the floor, I was going home." Niece did take the dog down to the park and walked him long enough to poop. She did leave the laundry room door open but no trash in the floor Niece said why the hostility. It always make me nervous when I say things like that.
I had my taxes done this morning and will get refund. Yeah.
Think my gut problem is due to spices and onions from the pizza I ate. My stomach and gut just can't hand stuff like that anymore. It's most definitely time to have the bunion done. The great toe has crossed over the second toe causing it to bruise. The podiatrist told me if and when it hurts to wear a shoe, it's time. Well it's time.
The weather is beautiful today. Temperature while I was out was near 80 degree's. Thunderstorms supposed to move in tonight between 6 and 9 p.m.

-----------
Happy
Awww another little kitten. I love fruit and whip cream for a dessert. Sis and I went to a Mexican restaurant last night for a Valentine's meal. Niece was to tired from her trip to go with us. She meeting DH for a Valentine's dinner tonight.

Susie
I like the idea of neighbor helping neighbor during the power outages. Remember to take care of your self. My sis works a lot too.

Laura
When will you move to the new location. Good for you in going to Pilates class. I need to do some upper body but I simply don't like the machines at the Rec Plex. I did bring my smaller weights to the condo but can only find one of them in the vehicle.

Hellos' to Dee and Shad. Page is beginning to jump up and down again. going to post.

Morning all,
Came back after all. Sometimes I get so grumpy when I lose a post that I swear I won't be back. However I need to get my chick fix so here I am.

Our weather hasn't been too bad the last couple of days. We have had storms every evening but nothing as bad as that one on Sunday night. The cyclone which is supposed to be heading for us is now on it's way to NZ so we dodged that one. Poor NZ as if they haven't had enough rotten weather, winds, floods, rains etc. already. Today is hot, humid and will get even hotter. Too bad about the weather.

I've given up painting for the time being. It's just too hard to get it on and looking good during this sort of heat. Thankfully autumn is just around the corner so it will cool down enough hopefully soon. Meantime I can go spend some more money on the last of the cabinets to go into the laundry and find a sink or basin that I like and which won't cost me an arm or a leg.

I'll try to catch up on the posts:
Susie - your hand the dryer upside down because otherwise you would never be able to reach the controls. They are actually made to hand on walls these days as houses put more money and space into bathrooms and massive kitchens and laundries get stuck in cupboards.

Happy - Please give my thanks to DH for passing on my message. Power is now fully restored everywhere and there hasn't been any more horrific storms so far although I was beginning to think there might be on Tuesday night but that only dumped hail and rain on us.
So nice that you have a new kitten. Hope it all works out for her and Nina.
Yes I had a good break with Mick and Michelle. They are such lovely people and don't deserve the run of bad luck they have had this year. Anyway we had a chat, he wandered off for a rest, and Michelle and I talked about how he is doing. I know he is worried. He is a worrier. I worry for him. He's got a long road to walk down with his cancer. Much more than mine.

Annie - Hopefully you are now well on the way to being fit and well again. You really have had a nasty dose of this flu. I'm glad you managed to get out for a short while. Hope no one else was coughing and hacking in the theatre. Sounds like a decent bunch of your people went. Popcorn sure does smell good. Pity I don't really like the flavours though. Or maybe not.
You probably do need a holiday in a warm place, but maybe not a good idea to pick Florida right now.

Ceejay - How the heck did your sister think it would only take one day to train a dog. They are not machines. Your niece should not have gone on leave until after she had finished this driving course, but young folk today don't plan and schedule like we did.

Laura - I have solar water heating only. Lack of power doesn't stop the production of hot water as such, but it does stop the regulation of temperature and a few other minor things. I had hot water all through the power cut. And yes the solar power is connected to the supply panel into the house. So now power into the house means solar power just collects in batteries if you have them and doesn't power anything else. If you pay a whole lot more you can go off grid (although the power companies don't like this) but it would take years to repay the outlay.

Dee - Thank you for thinking of us during the storm season. Only one of my boys live here in Brisbane and he and his partner and the dog are just fine. The other one lives in Adelaide 2700km away from here. They are all fine too. The DS2 has the dog and I do doggy daycare for him while he is renovating his house and yard. Yes I was diagnosed with cancer of the right ovary in 2016. Long story short, I had a complete hysterectomy and then 4 rounds of chemo. So far all is well - prognosis is good. The study I was on was to do with the effects or otherwise of exercise on cancer patients who had or are having chemo. My friend is doing well at the moment. He has a long road ahead of him, but he will pull through I am sure.

I'm going to post this now and will come back later to finish the personals. So much going on while I've been off the grid so to speak.

Hey what's up with aLL the Valentine's food porn you've eaten we neeeddd some recipes here

Annie ~ I'm sure your plumbing will flow soon Wow that's awesome that you're keeping your promise getting the concert tickets, maybe let your son do Vallet parking for you & let you, C. & Sis out at the entrance Strawberries yep C. is right on that, when I was a teenager I made strawberry pies at Big Boy restaurant & they told me to not save any berries to ripen & put the unripe berries where the heaviest red gooey filling was. Stupid weather in Michigan, I have snow boots + my rain boots at my entry way is yours crazy too? *your chicken recipe pLease*

Laura ~ Work will be sooo nice for you to see outside now How high in the sky is your office (elevator floors up?) I wish you'll pLease share any tips on how you are able to be a workout Ninja after working aLL day, do you take certain vitamin supplements or smoothies for your energy or foods? I admire that you treat your body sooo wonderful during aLL 4 seasons instead of just the summer like I do.

Happy ~ Awe... about your new baby. Do you think Nina will try to be her momma, buddy, or be jealous sharing your attention. Smelling/sniffing her new scent everywhere has gotta be fun watching her SomethIng to ponder about during your free tim : have you ever thought about starting a thread here at 3FC regarding 'rescuing a shelter cat/dog' as a way to 'enrich a persons own health' by giving a loving home to saving both lives? Statistics show pet owners are Healthier than non-pet homes, there's a link you could post on your thread & mention pet shelters positive aspects, if it saved 1 pet's life from death your thread would be valuable. *your strawberry dessert/restaurant recipe pLease*

I found out a couple of things to kill my food cravings to help me get through Lent: eat sauerkraut or pickles instead of potato chips/Pringles; drink a cup of coffee + milk & a few carrots instead of a chocolate candy bar & M&Ms, then my candy craving is done.

Ceej ~ Hooray on your tax refund. I envy you being able to get your foot healthy with surgery I got flat arches about 10 yrs ago & I wish I could get surgery to fix them & Dh's medical insurance covered it. I saw 2 Podiatrists & both said to wear arch supports or orthotics it's hard finding pumps & wedge sandals with a supportive arch, but on QVC I've bought lots of cute Vionic strappy sandals, wedges, clogs & slippers with orthotic foot beds $30-$75. So I wear sneakers a lot & I glued several sets of arch supports to removable insoles to wear snow boots & rain boots. What's the first thing you look forward to doing after your bunion surgery??? PLease send me your 70's temps

Susie ~ I read your post to me Thanks for caring you've been a good sister since we became close on our prior thread, we went through lots together. I remember when your Booda kitty died, did you & J. get a kitty later? Do you hear on FB from, Tori, silly Carri? I wasn't angry with anybody here, you'all are sister-friends, but I was hurt & sad that anyone may think that I'm unsupportive with shelter pets, so I opened-up about my life. Dh & I pray each morning together & do prayer requests before getting out of bed & again at bedtime Thanking HIM for our Blessed day he gave us. 'No' the dark-one is Not allowed near me, I have Jesus in My Heart guiding me daily 24/7 life can be complicated. A painted home interior for your 2018 makes a home sooo refreshing. Hmm could you be preparing for a certain guest I enjoyed your Katrina experience of humanity We shared a similar experience after a tornado happened yrs ago.

Shad ~ Hi, my tablet battery is blinking faster than I can write a post to you, so I'll write you tomorrow I'm happy that you're safe.

Be safe everybody

Default This is another Fresh Start in the new year

I feel as excited as this carrot looks. I remember being connected somehow many years ago but had NO recall of the name. I was bopping around online getting things together for tomorrow's weigh-in and beginning our weight challenge here at home when VOILA! I saw the name and smiled and smiled and...here I am.

I tried quite a few apps and such but it doesn't do it for me. I enjoy and do well with forums and this site is wonderful. I did a bit of reading and loved the support I saw. It's been like that for me in my effort to quit and remain free from smoking. Today marks my 4th week free from that so I joined here to help me be accountable as I am to a quit group I belong to online. Hope to connect with positive people. I'm a can do/will do kinda gal and have my eyes on the prize of feeling better/looking great/and cheering others along the way.
