Gee, I didn't watch it -- were they slutty to the max?
By the way, I have walked for 2 mornings in a row. DD shamed me into it. She's good that way. Kiwi |

Ewww is right
There's tongue going on there. :sp:
I'm cranky. DH has been spending all his waking hours on the computer doing geneology for the past couple of weeks. For some reason this makes cranky. Have nothing to write about. Bye Kiwi |
This too shall passs
I was cranky when dh went through his eBay phase and was on this thing contstantly when *I* wanted to be on it. After he bought enough toys to last a lifetime, he gave it up, so the computer is all mine again!
OK, it's official, I will be "taking callers" from October 18 to October 31 somewhere in the bustling metropolis of Halifax. Sil seems to think that they will be right into the middle of winter by then. What kind of clothes should I take? Bagzie?? Do I need a flashlight for the fog? Are there puffins in N.S. too? |
puffins!! I want a puffin!!!! I have a picture of one that I bought in NB and I know the whole poem from childhood ...
There once was a puffin just the shape of a muffin and he lived on an island in the bright blue sea He ate little fishes which were most delicous and he had them for supper and he had them for tea Now this poor little puffin he couldn't play with nuffin for he hadn't any body to play with at all (corrected line) So he sat on his island and he cried for a while'n he felt very lonely and he felt very small The along came the fishes and they said if you wishes you can have us for playmates instead of for tea Now they all play together in all sorts of weather and the puffin eats pancakes like you'n like me. I am so jealous. |
That's adorable!
I never heard that before, Peachie, how cute!
Yes, late October sounds chilly, but I'm thinking ROAD TRIP! I've never been to N.S., have you Bagz? Some of DH's relatives come from there, maybe he'd like to drive up there and do a little research (Oh God, if he's not employed by late October, HELP!!) DH invited some friends over this afternoon. He won't tell me what time. I only got up a while ago. This place is in its usual shambles. So to protest, I'm on the computer. In my pajamas. Good grief, I hope they don't show up any time soon. You know that feeling of panic, of all the things you need to do in no time at all? I passed that part quickly, I'm on to despair and paralysis. Kiwi |
Re: That's adorable!
That has got to be the sweetest poem! I'm writing it down right now and sticking it on the fridge! How come there's not a puffin emoticon? poor substitute --->
YES! A road trip! Especially if someone else is driving. I'll be staying at my brother's humble abode, I think. Supposedly there's a Timmy's nearby. Quote:

And I have to say, the whole notion of getting your house in shape for visitors is just wrong. To illustrate: I finally finished my coffee and got off the computer and went to take a shower. I was hurrying because DH was picking up in the living room and you never know what that might mean. So I wrenched my neck while trying to dry my hair and now my shoulder hurts like a :censored: . I can't even turn my head to right. However I proceeded to get dressed, clean up the kitchen, wipe down the bathroom, empty the trash, and do some more picking up in LR while exclaiming in pain every 2 seconds. :stars: Blah. :faint: Kiwi |
Kiwi--
You are right, Capriati does look a bit like a tree trunk. I've been enjoying Roddick... even sweaty. HOT HOT HOT :P Cowie-- thanks for the puffin poem. I have a friend who is a puffin fan.... I don't know how he feels about pancakes. good luck on auditioning daughter. Jazz is SO different than classical or rock... Neat that there was someone to help her. I am trying to get used to netscape 7 and the new way that AIM shows up... I think someone else is logged on who is on my buddy list, but I can't get my buddy list to reveal it self. AAAAAAACK. It has a mind of its own and is hiding. Maybe I'll go have a little lie down. DH and I went to modern art museum in Ft. Worth today.... building was great, art was mostly very strange. (Don't let anyone tell you that Dallas is more CULTURED than "Cow Town"... because it isn't true. Dallas just cares more about achieving nouveau richedom than FW. |
That's interesting about AIM and netscape -- my parents keep showing up as online, but DD and I try and try to IM them and they never respond. Sometimes they sign off and come back on, so I'm wondering what on earth it looks like to them when we send them a message. By the way, I did IM you, Painty, once or twice a couple of days ago. I think you were away from your computer.
 We had a lovely chili supper :hun: (love having enough of something in the freezer to serve to guests -- not that that happens very often), with very little trouble. House looked better than usual (that's not saying much) Last night we watched Basic with John Travolta and Samuel Jackson. Not bad for a military mystery. Later on tonight I'm going to watch The Life of David Gale -- has anyone seen that? Has Kevin Spacey and Kate Winslet in it. First I think I'll go check out who's sweaty tonight at the U.S. Open.....:hot: Kiwi |
whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa---took dd to university this weekend and now i am feeling a bit dowwwwwwwwwwn------it is just plain wierd to look in her bedroom and see it so vacant---------------she says she wants to live up there and get work so she may not come home for the summers-------------this is the beginning and so far it's HARD!!!!

ohhhh Bagzieeeee. You are such a WONDERFUL MOM. It's just ironic that wonderful moms get self-sufficient kids. I hate this. Not fair.

Sabotage plan:
Inform children that they can't make a decision on their own. They never do anything right. Tell them you do and do and do for them and what thanks do you get? Get sick frequently and require that they nurse you to health. Make sure to save icky things like cutting your toenails for them. Remind them how much Mommy counts on them for little things like that. Inform them that you and their father will probably head straight for divorce court if they move out of the house. Keep changing your will every time one of them does something "thoughtless". Say over and over again that they'll probably never amount to anything and will have to live at home and be supported for the rest of their lives.
;) That should work. Shoulder hurt. Thank goodness for ibuprofen. DH is going to friends' camp and cut down trees today. Not me. I'm staying home and coddling my shoulder. Kiwi Alternate life #2: Struck out for the Alaskan wilderness in late 20s, built homestead, raised chickens and sheep. Had 6 children, grow own food, spin wool, train herding and sled dogs, bench press cows for fun. |
