Good morning, ladies! Another hot and humit day and rain. Donna always sends me rain the day after she has it.
Yesterday was a busy day. I went to water aerobics, then to the grocery store to get salad fixings, ran home to have a quick small lunch, back to the Y for Yoga which ran over so we had 2 hours, back home to pick up the salad, to WW to let them know I'd take the job, then to Glory's for a birthday dinner for our friend who turned 86 yesterday, got home at 9. It was a lot of fun. Today I have an appointment with the eye doctor, weight training at the Y and then clean my dirty house.'' Donna, I keep to the Fly Lady's schedule and that way my house is cleaned from top to bottom every month, one room a week. I have to wash all my bedding twice a week, including the mattress pad. I really should not have carpet in the house, but I need to get the roof fixed and then I'm saving up for hardwood floors; now I vacuum every other day. The cruise ship suite is beautiful. The colors are so restful. Stan didn't like to shop for clothes so I did most of it for him or he would have been naked. Jean, maybe they think they'll get more sales in the gift shop in a busier part of the hospital. Good to hear you were able to do your work at the church at last. Will you be going to the lake for the weekend? Norah, Glory and I will be getting together to celebrate the 4th. We tease Norah because she is English that we will have a good supply of tissues so she can lament the loss at Yorktown and the end of the war. Lots of history around here. Maggie, I worry when you don't post. I hope you are okay. Have a wonderful day. |
Good Afternoon! It's a beautiful day in my neighborhood; sunny, low humidity, NO wind, and 71 degrees. Delightful! I cleaned out a kitchen drawer this morning. I am so good at clearing off the island and sticking papers in the phone book drawer thinking I would sort through them "later." Later comes when I either can't find something, or the drawer won't close. I should just throw coupons away because they expire so quickly, or I forget to take them with me. :o I should start working on a food list for the 4th weekend; not sure what everyone's schedule will be but know the kids and grandkids will be at the cabin for least for part of the long weekend. Ian has games the 5th and 6th, then baseball will be done for another summer.
"Gma," wish you could share your rain with us. The farmers are starting to worry about crops getting enough moisture. I remember reading that another drought is on the way. Your weekend plans sound like fun. We went through the Coors brewery several years ago and found it interesting. They also offered pop, rather than beer samples, at the end of the tour. The other STUPID move at the hospital was the construction of a metal building where it will always be the front of the building, located on the main street going into town. As this is farming country, it looks exactly like a farm machine shed, and houses the ambulances and maintenance office. Bob has even had farmers ask about the machine shed! Obviously a man came up with the plan for that. We also have the helipad which the neighbors complain about being noisy and too close to their homes. It's hard to keep everybody happy. Susan, what kind of salad did you make 'n take? :T You are a busy gal on the go! How many days a week is the WW job? You will be a good inspiration for the members! You can start your hardwood floor fund! ;) We plan to be at the lake the 3rd and 4th. They are planning fireworks for the 4th, and they start at 10:00. I would think most people would be heading home by then. Several people around the lake set off their own displays so I'm betting they will be on the 3rd. They are illegal in Iowa but South Dakota is close so imagine the fireworks come over the border from there. The dryer is buzzing so I need to get moving. Hope you all enjoy a nice day! |
