Good morning to you all. It is cool this morning but ended up in the 60's yesterday so hopefully that is what we will get today as it is commissary day.
It was a nice sunny day with no clouds as all yesterday. We went out to our favorite Italian place last night, well really yesterday afternoon. I brought most of mine home and may have it for lunch today we shall see. We went to order the stairs and brother the cost was awful and we have to wait for them to ship them to Lowes. I had already paid for them to come in to measure and it would be taken off the install price so I wasn't about to go anywhere else. I started to then remembered we had paid. Well, our steps width are more than normal so the price went from $109 for what most people have to $300 for three more inches of width. On top of that, they charged nearly $300 to install them!!! :( We had to get new ones because we have a stop missing on the old ones and it is very hard to get up into the attic. We only paid $119 to take out the old and install our new dishwasher for heaven's sake. Like I said, with Jack's hands being as they are now and his arthritis, he just can't do that stuff. He is installing new smoke detectors though. That's a pretty easy job and the old ones are coming down easily. We are starting on the less expensive jobs and working our way up. Maggie: I hope the meal replacements work for you. Something like that would fill me up, but not last long before I am afraid I would feel hungry. I actually take soluble fiber everyday to add fiber because of my colon issues. I have to say it works well to keep plumbing doing what it should. Gail: Good luck getting the house ready to put on the market. It sure is a long process that's for sure. What part of Va Beach did he live in? We lived in base housing once close to the beach actually, then we also lived just off Va Beach Blvd in an apartment. Boy was that a long time ago as Kelly celebrated her 2nd birthday in that apartment and she is 38! Grilling always sounds good to me. We bought this huge grill and smoker last year and I think we used it once. I plan on grilling a lot more this summer. It's great for weight loss too as it drips off all that fat. Jean: I always feel like I've wet my pants with the cooling seats, but putting on the heated ones make me itch. I just learned how to do a couple voice activated things on the car and we have had it since November! I am a slow learner when it comes to remembering all that stuff. It was funny yesterday. We went to the ATM to get some cash and the things sits pretty high so even Jack has problems with it. We can make the seat raise so here he is raising the seat to a height he can better get to put the card in saying, "Second floor, ladies lingerie, suits and shoes..." The man is a nut. Everyone have a great day today!! |
Good Afternoon! The sun has been in and out of the clouds most of the day, and it's very windy so feels really cold outside. Bob sang at early church, then we went out for breakfast with another couple. I've been sorting through the magazine, paper, junk mail piles this afternoon.
Gail, it's nice that you have one daughter close and the other one can come if needed. We feel very lucky that our daughter lives a little over an hour away and our son is about two and a half hours away. The four grands play soccer, football, and baseball so we put miles on the car attending their games. It sounds like you have a plan in the works for Easter. I'm not sure what we are doing. "Gma," would you believe we are getting new struts for the car? That is the same issue we had with the last one and know a couple other people that have had the same problem. You would think GM would figure out some way to alleviate the problem so it doesn't happen in the first place. At least we don't have to pay for it which is good. You mentioned eating Italian; I think it's time for a road trip to Olive Garden! We have a gift card to use so we're set to go! It's too bad you couldn't just replace the missing step. I know any time one has to hire someone to fix something it is expensive. Bob just replaced a medicine cabinet and was able to do the light wiring himself. My dad taught him how many years ago when we bought our first house. I wonder if the ATM camera records audio along with visual? Hah! Guess I will fix some hot tea and finish reading the paper. Hope you all enjoy the rest of your day! |
