Good Afternoon! It is miserably cold in my neighborhood today! -15 at 6 am, with a wind chill of -35 . . . COLD! :brr: :brr: :brr: It never got above 0, -4 right now. Enough is enough! :tantrum: A lot of churches canceled services this morning but not our's. There were a few die hard members there but it was skimpy. Bob's group sang along with piano, guitars, and a violin on one piece. I felt bad there weren't more people to hear them; usually the older people come early just to listen while they warm up before church. We had a late breakfast in the Bennett kitchen and have had a lazy afternoon.
Susan, I really hate when it rains first and then freezes before the snow falls. We have so many people who don't know how to drive on it and there are so many accidents. I am always surprised when you get snow. When you said you had a Boston Butt, I had a mental picture of a bull dog for some reason. :lol: I'll bet it smells so good cooking, and your stew too. Enjoy your time with HP! Nothing else newsy from here, except the cold which is going to last for another couple days. :( Hope you all are warm and cozy -- enjoy the rest of a super Sunday! :wave: |
Sunday and Sunny
♪♥♫ GOOD AFTERNOON IN JANUARY MAGNOLIAS
It is a beautiful day today with the sun shining brightly. Good sermon at church this morning and the young men are doing the service tonight. They usually do a good job of it. JEAN We have a dishwasher here in the MH home called “Maggie.” My dishwasher can do light or heavy loads and they both come out nice and clean and so do my fingernails if I don’t wear gloves. :cp: SUSAN I bought the Fitbit because it was through the WW folks and not for the pulse rate being accurate or not. There are many other features on it that I like and use I am not concerned about my heart rate for I am on BP meds and my doc keeps me regulated and not something I wear around my wrist. I don’t trust any of the wrist monitors that are “out there” to give me an accurate reading on my BP. I like having all the other neat features the Fitbit has on it. |
Good morning girls. We went out early this morning to do a bit of WM shopping just to get through until the weekend when we will commissary shop. We had breakfast at Perkins first.
I'll tell you it wears me right out. We came home and got everything put away and now Jack is sitting with his Ipad playing Stratego against someone and I am going to read or something I think. I did laundry yesterday so that is caught up for a couple days. Jean: It is 19 here this morning with wind chill single digits and I hate it. At least it is sunny and dry. I am sure the few people at church enjoyed Bob's group. Susan: I have all the HP books on cds and a couple on my Ipod that I transferred over. I listen to them so much I can actually run the lines perfectly as Jim Dale reads it. :lol: I go to sleep listening to them a lot. Wasn't it sad about Alan Rickman? Maggie: Glad you had an enjoyable service yesterday. As soon as I am back on my feet we are joining the Y and I am going to start water aerobics. The one exercise I can do where my knee doesn't hold me back. Everyone have a great beginning to the week. |
