Made a quick drive to Paragould today to retrieve my keys and ate lunch with two uncles. One uncle and his wife have the flu. The other two uncles were there, but one uncle was minus his wife who has been very sick. (heart and lung problems.) My uncle whom I visit often is also having heart problems. His heart is only pumping around 41 beats per minute. He's due a pace maker possibly with in the next couple of weeks.
I didn't stay as the weather men is predicting freezing rain. ugh, but hey it's winter. Still no cable for the television. Don't know what happened. I watched a movie last night and may do the same tonight. But sigh I will have to miss Galavant tomorrow night. ------- Claygirl Love the pictures. Is CSA a farmer's market? Happy Hope you get to enjoy some Chinese food. Been thinking about that myself. I like your avatar also. Been meaning to mention that. Dee I like your avatar as well. For the rest Hello  I'll be back later. |
Still here, just no time to post. Back with you all tomorrow
|
Ceejay:
I'm sorry to hear about your family's health problems, that's tough. I hope your uncle can get a pacemaker soon. It seems like everyone I see these days has the flu! At work on Friday I went to see my sweet twins, and one of them has the flu. I was a little irritated because families know they are supposed to cancel if anyone in the home is sick (because then I can catch it, spread it to other families, etc) but they didn't tell me until I'd been there 30 minutes. At that point I just stayed because I'd already been exposed! We've been getting lots of freezing rain here too, it's my least favorite. Freezing, and wet! I'm hoping for snow. I grew up in Florida, and I haven't seen snow much, so it's always special when I do! The CSA is consumer supported agriculture. Essentially, I found this farm 12 minutes from our house, and they sell shares of their harvest every year. We bought a share of their harvest, and now I pick up our share from the farm every week! It's wonderful. The farmers market in town is 30 minutes away, and they don't harvest during the winter months. We still got a pretty great share considering it's January! |
This is more of a mini rant than anything, but I'm confused. Ive been feeling nauseated after eating the last few days. It doesn't seem to matter what it is, chicken, salad, quinoa, soup, water... I feel nauseated right after I finish and I need to sit down for a few minutes to keep from feeling worse by moving around. Thankfully I'm not throwing up, which is good, I've just been spending half my day feeling nauseated. Ive been thinking it is possible that I could be pregnant, but its too early to test (but having symptoms of pregnancy this early also seems highly unlikely). I just wanted to express my frustration!
|
Still no cable. I may watch another movie tonight or find something else to do. I can't keep my mind occupied long enough to sit and read for a long period of time.
I slept till 9 a.m. this morning and woke up with a headache. Think it's probably sinus related so no church for me this morning. The freezing rain didn't materialize here, but it was dark and gloomy. I must have needed the sleep. ------- Claygirl Sorry that you are experiencing these symptoms. But think positive that you are pregnant. Thanks for explaining what CSA was. Those would be nice to have around. Shad Take time for yourself. |
Happy ~ Yeah mom said she would take me to Just Ladies Fitness sometime soon so I'm glad about that
Laura ~ Yes I'm still doing the cooking class and I still a member of DA4A. Although I havent been to ILRC since Dec. 18th so I'll ready to go back, My first day back is Wed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I woke up at 7:00 a.m. this morning and mom and I went to church and then we went to Walmart and then we came home and I cleaned the kitchen and the bathroom. At 7 tonight I'm gonna do my 30 min. walking dvd and those are my only plans for today. I hope everyone is having a nice Sunday. Sorry I havent posted since Thursday, We went to Scott nephew's house Friday night until last night so I didnt have internet access and they only have a laptop and I dont like laptops. |
Evening all.
Ceejay - Sorry to learn your uncle is having heart problems. I hope the pacemaker resolves that. Bummer about your cable being out for so long - what's up with that? I like to read a lot, but i wouldn’t want to do that all night or weekend. Hope the cable comes up soon. Claygirl - I hope your symptoms don't mean you're coming down with the flu or a cold! I like your garden bed. I'm glad you were able to post your photos - I would have told you to use photobucket. That’s what i use too. Re moving - yeh if you were "forced" to relocate for your dh's job, i wouldn't want to go to all that trouble to move just 30 minutes away. I'd avoid a mandolin unless you bought one of those chain mail gloves Happy mentioned. Happy - Did you get your Chinese food yesterday? I'd give the tomato soup recipe a try, But I'd try to skip that chicken bullion/soup base if possible. Not sure why it's needed. Dee- Yes, I'm sure we could put that half bath to rights if we did it together! :D Hi to Shad & the rest of you. Hope you all had a great weekend. ÷÷÷÷ My weekend's been alright. Just a bunch household stuff. I finally rolled, cut & baked the peanut butter dog cookies. I washed a cute hot pink hoodie i bought at the thrift shop for $2 & it looks great. It could tell it had never been washed - it was brand new. Jazzercise was good & sweaty. Really tough actually. I need to get to more classes so i can build up my strength & stamina. Or i should just give it up & go back to the recplex that's only a couple miles from my house for classes. I guess I'll just feel bad - my Jazzercise instructor is great & she did accommodate me with a nice monthly rate ($20) to get me back...it's just a bit too far to be convenient for me to get to on weeknight evenings. Decision time! That's it for me. Nighty night all. |
Hello! It was a fun & busy weekend here. I slept in until 8:30 a.m. on Saturday and it felt so good. We have a heated mattress pad and with our freezing weather it was so nice and toasty in bed that I slept in.
We were able to have dinner with some friends on Friday night that we hadn't seen since the beginning of December (we usually have dinner with them a couple times a month) and it was so nice to just sit and relax with them. On Saturday evening we went to a birthday dinner for one of our other friends. Again, another relaxing evening. I had a wonderful salad with a mango dressing and it was yummy. Both places were in local resturants and it was nice to stay in town. Usually we go to Cincinnati or Dayton which are both at least 40 min away so it was nice to be at the resturant in less than 10 min and to get back home in that amount of time. Saturday I cleaned house and DH grocery shopped. I also worked for about 2 hours Finally, we have some food in this house to make healther meals and lunches. Today was church and a nap and working for about 1.5 hours. My leg is feeling better but still not where I want it to be. It is better than it was the week of New Year's eve and I'm greatful tha the adjustments and my exercises and such are giving me relief but it is still hurting at times and I can't do things like I want to. I'm going to see my doctor on Wednesday to make sure that there is no hernia or lymph nodes that seem to be swollen. I am also seeing the Ortho doctor on Wednesday as my knee is killing me and I want a corizone shot. I haven't had one in almost 2 years so it is time. I am also going to talk to him because I think my hip is giving me issues (I have some lower back issues and have for over 20 years sort of like Happy was saying about hers) and I have been reading that can cause groin pain as well. Annie: How are you feeling? As Happy said, take it easy for just a while longer. It's great that you got internet at home. Did you watch the Colts game today? Happy: How is your back feeling? I sent the bag on Friday--I think it will get to you on Wednesday. I am so happy that you got the washer fixed :carrot: Did you get your Chinese food? Terra: That is wonderful your mom is going to take you to the Ladies gym.....so when are you going? Laura: It sounds like you are dealing with the cold weather and your treak to work. When you were describing your clothes, they made me feel warm and comfy. Did you get your fitbit set up yet? Dee: I think in another post you asked me about "Revenge" I'm behind on it. I have it DVR'd and hope to watch the two episodes I have missed this coming weekend. Are you watching the Bachelor this time? I am..he is one of my favorite ones so far. I really liked him on the last Bachelorette. Have you been snowshowing? Shad: It is so nice you were spending time with DS. It sounds like your work is picking up--which will be nice if you think you have a big tax bill coming. Laura: I have never done jazzercise. There is none in my area but it's sort of like dancing right? That is my type of exercise. When I was taking Zumba at work I loved that workout. They don't have it the work location I am at now. Michelle: Did you get Bob's place in order? You are a really good friend. Ceejay: I'm glad to hear that your doctor appointment went well. I hope you weren't exposed to the flu durning your visit to the Uncles. Claygirl: Welcome! As you can tell, these gals are a lot of fun and very supportive. A little about me. I'm from Ohio, a small town called Wilmington. I work in Cincinnati as and Administrative Assistant for P&G and I support upper management. My job is busy but I love the work. I am married (for 27 years). We have no children (not by choice but sometimes you don't get to make those choices), so we just enjoy being Aunt and Uncle to our nieces and nephews. My brother has two little boys and we have friends who have 4 girls and they all keep us busy with their activities. I am also a reader--I think you mentioned that you were too. The pictures of your home are beautiful and I find the CSA very interesting. I have never hear of that before. How are you feeling? Maybe you are pregnant? I need to start heading to bed. It sounds like we are going to deal with some icy roads in the morning due to freezing rain. I can deal with snow but freezing rain is another thing. |
Good Morning Ladies....what a wasted weekend.
Cramping all weekend and still wearing pads. If a man had to go through this there wouldn't be many men around. Saturday got up and took the car for its 20K check up, oil change and tire rotation. Came home and laid on the couch all afternoon and evening. Sunday, got up and went to church then came home and laid on the couch all afternoon, did watch the football games tho. We were supposed to have terrible ice storm and be slicker than snot on the way to work. Of course, the weatherman didn't get that right, thank God. It did rain and it could of been very slick but the temps were in the 30s so it was not bad at all. The bad thing is temps are supposed to drop this afternoon and freeze up. Yik. SUSIE..Yes, we did watch the COLTS beat the tar out of the BRONCOS. Hmm, me thinks Peyton's career may be coming to and end. He did not look good at all in the face to be. He looked swollen a bit. Andrew Luck did an awesome job. Glad to hear the adjustments are helping out with your leg problems. Patience my dear, it takes time to heal, that is what I keep being told. haha. LAURA...the mandolin looks like a scary slicer, kind of like my slicer from Pampered Chef. I sliced about half my finger off with it once and so did my son. I think it is because we get to going so fast and forget to slow down when we are getting to the end of a veggie. Painful even thinking about it. Hope the half bath is turning out nicely. TERRA...glad you are back on the wagon and getting your exercises in. CEEG....glad you made it to the doctor and he is treating you for your issue. Hmmm, I think I recall mentioning an ulcer. You are welcome from Dr. HOH, and no charge. lol. What is up with your cable? Maybe you should call them. CLAYGIRL...you never know, my daughter felt sick about 3 days after conception and it lasted the entire pregancy. Yeah, here's to wishing. We need a new babe on our site. Your gardens looks lovely and so does the veggies. Love me some veggies. CHELLE...I put in a prayer request for your friend Bob at church yesterday. I am so sad that he is going through all this H*LL. You are such a good friend to him. That is so nice of you to help out. How are you feeling? Sticking with the program? HAPPY...It would be dangerous for me to work at the Thrift store. I would probably buy stuff I didn't even have a need or place for. The ankle is not doing to badly. A few flair ups with this weather going up and down but all and all not to bad, I am still upright and can walk. How are your feet and hips. Did you ever get inserts for your shoes? I hear you on wanting to stay in when it is nice and warm. Once I am home, like LAURA, I too do not want to go back out. The washer dude should of replace the part with a brand new one, but probably somewhere in teeny tiny print in the warranty contract it says they can use rebuilt parts. I had that problem one time with a car and an alternator. Had to take it back to Sears 3 times before they got one that worked. What a PIA. SHADDIE...there is so much destruction in the world these days and most of it seems to be man made. Wild fires, riots, etc, it is just getting silly. Hope things calm down for you downunder. If your contract gets extended, how long do you think it will be extended? DEE...my DIL got her lil business started and is on my FB page. Can you see my page? Bout it for me, behind on reports due to being out of the office. bleh. Have a great Monday/night. Hugs |
Morning all,
Happy Monday. My weight is up this morning - ugh and it's because I have been eating things with a lot of salt in them. Back to clean eating again and no snacking at night. I am feeling tight and achey and I know a good part of that is the lack of yoga - we have been on hiatus for a month. Today I am going to start a Kundalini yoga class and Wednesday my Hatha yoga class starts again (they are 2 different styles of yoga). I do think it really helps with lubricating the joints and stretching the muscles. I need to sit down and work out a gym plan as I would like to take some additional classes. I think I will leave the machines for the grunting men and use the dumbells at the gym in the exercise room for the weight portion of the workout. And I intend to continue with my 8 week bike and walking training programs. I tried to look at the Peggy Cappy videos I rented from the library and my computer is so screwy. Windows Media player would not start and play them. Took me the better part of 2 hours to update drivers, research fixes and get them to working again. By the time I was done with that, it was time to go make dinner. :dizzy: All the movie channels on cable had a free viewing weekend so I recorded about a dozen movies. Some old favorites - like MICHAEL with John Travolta and some others I had wanted to see but never got around to. I liked the movie Philomena with Dame Judy Densch but a was a tiny bit disappointed as I was expecting it to be more like the book The Misremembered Man - both subjects about unwed mothers and their children in the early 1940s or 50s. I also watched THE IMPOSSIBLE about the tsunami that hit Thailand in 2004 (hard to believe that was 10 years ago). I didn't care for the movie that much - thought it was a bit on the improbable side but then I saw that it was based on a true story. And of course there was the latest episode of Downton Abbey to watch. I did catch up on laundry too - the new agitator works very well - it does a much better job on the clothes. I went through a box of papers which took me about 3 hours to sort. All the time I wanted to walk away I was telling myself this is your punishment for keeping all this stuff in the first place! :nono: Either pitch it outright or finish going through it. And that was my weekend. Today is the gym and then I have to stop in town and pick up my half pig and pray it will all fit in my freezer! She has farm fresh eggs too and I'm looking forward to that. I just looked at the time and have just enough time to grab something quick to eat and then hop in the shower. I will be back for personals later today. |
Morning all. Happy Monday! Well, I’m not thrilled about it, but I may as well just try and fake it ‘til I make it, LOL.
Happy – I hope you come up with a gym plan that works for you. Why didn’t you want to play the Peggy Cappy DVD’s on the TV? This was a few posts ago that you mentioned it, but I also have a couple more Christmas movie to watch, lol. Good for you going through the box of papers. I have a lot to go through, but I do it in fits and starts and not much gets accomplished. I look forward to seeing the movie versions of books I’ve read, but most of the time I’m disappointed. I suppose it’s probably better to go into the movie “cold”. Do you have all your ham/pork/bacon recipes chosen? :D Annie – Sorry you’ve still got cramps from the surgery. Do you have (another?) follow-up appointment coming up? I sure hope the pain eases up soon! Susie – We have a heated mattress pad too and LOVE it. Your weekend sounds very nice. Nothing like getting together with good friends. And it was nice you were able to stay local, especially when the roads can be snowy and icy at this time of year. Sorry your leg isn’t 100% yet. Re the fitbit – nope, haven’t set it up yet. I don’t know why I’m being such a sloth with that. Yes, Jazzercise is sort of like dancing. I like Zumba too, and I really love the Latin music in those classes! Terra – You’re keeping busy with your exercise and all the other activities you do. How was the time at Scott’s nephew’s house? Claygirl – Feeling any better today? Shad – Hope your travels were smooth and that your workweek goes well. Michelle – How’s it going? Nice of you to help get Bob’s place in order since he’s unable to. Ceejay – What movies have you been watching while your cable’s been out? Do you watch DVD’s or do you watch them through a streaming online site like Netflix? == Nothing much to report. I have to check the access/roles in our department’s software. The admin tells me she found something goofy that she suspects another member of the department did. This is someone who has been with us for a year now and appears to be severely challenged by technology. (The old admin once told that she told this person to Google something and this was met with total confusion.) Anyway, when I realized she’d taken an interest in our software, I had a “view only” role set up for her so she wouldn’t mess anything up, but what she did might pre-date the new view only role. Okay, off to check this out. Everyone have a great day. |
Oh I think I forgot to report that my results came back NO CANCER! Yeah!
LAURA...yes, I go back to the doc on Friday the 23rd for a recheck. Wow, nothing like someone messing up your software that knows nothing about technology, but thinks that they do. I put view only on all my reports, I trust no one! Hope you get faked right into a great day! lol |
Susie ~ I'm not sure when mom wants to go check out Just Ladies Fitness but I do hope we go soon.
Annie ~ Yeah I'm glad I'm back on the wagon and I'm getting my exercises in too. Laura ~ The time at Scott's nephew's house was nice. We had a nice visit. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Woke up at 8:30 this morning and now its almost 1 p.m. When mom gets home in an hour Mom,Scott and I are gonna go get our meds. I'm gonna do my 30 min. walking dvd in 30 mins and then I'll do my 40 min. chair exercises at 7 tonight. |
Laura: I hope I'm not getting sick, I'm just frustrated that I can't test for pregnancy yet, I just want to know one way or the other! I make peanut butter treats for my dogs too! It definitely takes time though, but they're super cheap to make. I bet your dogs loved them! I also love it when you can find cheap things from a thrift store that are in great shape, always a great feeling!
MyChoice2bfit thanks for the welcome! That heated mattress pad sounds amazing! I would have trouble getting out of bed if I had one. I hate getting up out of my warm cocoon in the morning! We are stubborn and don't like to pay too much for electric so we keep our thermostat at 65 in the winter, sometimes it gets quite chilly in here! It's nice you were able to spend time with friends, unfortunately most of our friends have moved away recently, we're having some trouble getting out there to make new friends. As far as pregnancy, it's definitely possible, just no way for me to know for another week! I find that frustrating. We'll see soon! annie I'm sorry you're still not feeling well . I do think I may be pregnant because I started feeling sick about 6 days after ovulation, and I've been much more nauseated than usual, after I eat and drink water. Every time I say I feel nauseated again or comment about a strong smell my husband stares and me, and chuckles and smiles. |
CLAYGIRL...smells used to knock my socks off. Pumping gas made me so sick. Just the smell of it was nauseating. Also cigarette smoke made my barfy too! Thanks for the hugs, I never turn down hugs. Goodluck.
