Hi ladies,

Kayecee - The pedicure is a very good idea!! Watch out for Melanie Griffith, she could get mean when her man flirts you up! :rollpin:

Angie - sheesh, I hope there were no fatalities in the wreck! How's your mom gonna take the news that you aren't coming home?

Ruth - thanks for the photo info!

Hi also to Michelle, Kat, Carree and Marti

I'm so mad at my DH! I was talking to him and I saw that glazed-over look in his eyes... he wasn't listening at all! Okay, okay, I was talking about WW points again, but hey, I listen to HIS boring stuff! So I just left the room and came here to lick my wounds. Sniff, sniff....... he's in the kitchen now, unloading the dishwasher, trying to suck up.... dang, he sure looks cute in there....

BBL,
Jana

Kayecee 07-18-2003 11:34 PM

Hey Y'all!

Angie- Sorry to hear about your rough night. I hope you rest better tonight. Was anyone hurt seriously or killed? (And don't worry- it doesn't matter what job you have- around TOM they all suck. LOL)

Ruth- My daughter is 3, son is 10. I don't blame you, I would rather have my kids safe in the nest than with some jerk. At least she got out- a lot never do. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes Here are some good vibes your way.

Jana- Uh, huh! Keep on watching him bending over that dishwasher and somebody may be getting make-up nookie! LOL Hey! Why did you end so abruptly? :D

(As for Melanie Griffith, I can take her too! :strong: )

Well, no one got food poisoning at the men's fish fry! :chef: I picked DS up from his party and went with SIL and her kid to eat pizza. (Yes... I sinned and had 4 slices of thin cheese pizza and a coke- BUT I was busy and on the road today so up to that time I had only eaten 8 points- I came home- ate no more- and WATP in retribution! Again, not perfect- but baby steps- I hadn't gorged all day then eaten 6 slices of supreme and 2-3 cokes on top of it- and the only sweet I had today was a plum- Woo! Hoo! for me!)

Tomorrow, the kids and I are going with DH to finish a job about an hour away. (Actually DH will work while we 3 look for yard sales! We have a 50/50 relationship- he makes the money and I spend it! ) After I spend all of the money that DH made this week, :D we are going to have some friends over to play cards tomorrow night. Uhhhh.... Uno not Poker.... we have such wild Saturday nights around here in Arkansas!

Well, gotta get up early in the morning... them yard sales start at dawn. Night all!

fropvd 07-18-2003 11:53 PM

Man, I spend time with the kids for a few days and four threads spring up. :)

Welcome to all the new faces and hello all the familiar old friends.
We've been cleaning, when not weeding out and cleaning swimming, and teaching my eldest to drive. THAT is the scariest thing I think I've ever done! Still, she is improving each time she drives, and I haven't managed to wear a hole in the passenger side floor yet, so there is hope for both of us. If anyone finds my wits, please forward them back to me via parcel post.

I haven't been eating all that much lately, but my weight has been bouncing up and down from 217 to 220 and back again. I'm not sure whats up with that, but I would sure like to see 215 one of these days. (Freudian slip there...I had typed 117-120 and back again--hows THAT for wishful thinking?)

Jane 07-19-2003 10:33 AM

Good Saturday Morning,

Kayecee - you crack me up!! I can just see it now - a picture of you and Melanie on the cover of Enquirer Magazine - and the headline "Arkansas WW mangles Melanie"! And yes, DH and I made up... He is the type of guy you just can't stay mad at, ya know? Hey, you did fine with the pizza. Guess what we do most evenings since reruns are on? We play Yahtzee!! How boring is that!

Kat - my youngest is driving now, and I have lived to tell it, :). In Indiana, new drivers can't take anyone under 18 with them for 90 days, which is a very good law, and her 90 days just passed. So she and 2 friends went to the movies last night, then to the DQ. DH and I were just glad we didn't have to do the driving, lol.

Hi to the others.

Well, we're going to Evansville again today to visit bil with the broken leg. He is such an active man, and it's killing him to be restricted. Other than that, the options are open.

BBL,
Jana

Kayecee 07-19-2003 12:04 PM

Hey Y'all!

fropvd- I like your little slip- Hey, 117 is a more attainable goal than me and Antonio Banderas! Too bad we ain't cavemen- I could beat the crud out of Melanie and drag him away by the hair of his head!!! :sumo: This big old woman could accomplish that! :sumo:

Do you live in the country or city? I can't imagine having a kid to teach driving and living in somewhere like New York or Los Angeles! :faint: We live out in the boonies. Our son is only 10 but he is already very good at driving. We take him out on the levees and dirt roads around here and let him drive every few weeks. He's been doing it since he was 9. What can I say, that's how we rednecks handle it. LOL :smug: This way, you get used to him driving a little before you actually have to meet any traffic and I think he will be pretty confident by then. I like what Jana said about the law in her state. I hope they pass something like that here before DS gets his permit.:crossed:

Jana- Don't forget to renew your subscription to the Enquirer. I would hate for you to miss me on the front cover. I will make sure to wear a thong that day just to make it more interesting! :encore:

So you and DH made up, huh.... I knew you ended abruptly

:goodvibes to bil- how on earth did he break it? Just don't ask me about my hubby- he has the strangest accidents- and I mean strange. There really should be a spot for him in the Guinness Book of World Records. LOL

Well, DH didn't have to work today. It stormed last night so all of the dirt is wet. He and the kids slept in. I only got 1/2 mile into WATP before a "friend" called and woke up everyone in the house! Some friend! :( I sure wasn't gonna stand in the living room in that goofy looking ab belt and prance this butt around, so I stopped. Hopefully, I'll find time to finish later.

Gotta go buy some groceries and clean house. Have a good day. (BTW I love Yahtzee!)

Marti 07-19-2003 12:23 PM

Good morning ladies!
I wish I could remember who it was that gave me the visiual example of how to keep motivated....but thank you! I will try that today! (sorry girls, I will try to get to know the names)
Hope all of you are enjoying the weather. (Depending on where you're located) Here in Oregon it's been staying in the mid-high 80's and sometimes that's just to darned HOT! (Some of us Oregonians can be such wimps when it comes to heat, speaking for myself of coarse! )

Well, I have to admit something,, I haven't really been on the ball lately with even TRYING to do something with my weight. And of coarse I have such good excuses for it too. Such as, I've been helping remodel a house and attending computer classes. You know..., GOOD excuses!;) Unfortunately, the fast food stops are going to start really catching up with me once the house is finished and I am no longer moving all the time. Wait, I believe it's already starting to catch up with me,,,, didn't I say that I had gained back 10lbs. in the last three months?:dizzy:

I have been saying that my goal is to lose those 10lbs. plus another five by the end of the year. Time is FLYING by so if I plan on even reaching a little weight loss I better get myself in gear!!

So,,, I seen that some of you do WW at home. Can any of you help me out with trying to start and do that too? What should I do? Where do I get info? I had subscribed to the magazine a few months ago and ordered the cookbook. That's a start isn't it??? (I'm trying a little bit. :-)) But seriously, I would very much like to try this too. It's very close to the nutrition program that I was a part of when I worked at Sony.

Ok, I'm going to go enjoy the day of sunshine with my daughter. They have some town event going on today and I thought we would go check it out. Enjoy your day ladies. And I promise to get to know your names. I also plan on telling some friends of mine about this place. It's great!!

Until next time.
Marti

Jane 07-20-2003 08:14 AM

It's Sunday!

Hi Ladies,

Kayecee - Heh heh heh... yeah, I can't stay mad at DH. He is the sort of guy who looks all hangdog when he's hurting, so being the softy that I am, I made up. Actually, he is really sweet, but his attention span re: WW, shoes, decorating, and stuff like that is minimal. BIL is a lineman for the electric co. and a telephone pole rolled off a truck and up his left leg. :yikes: He will be out of work for at least 4 months. The workman's comp is pretty good, since no taxes are taken out of it. Btw - I do my WATP in private, too. :dancer:

Marti - you can thank or blame me for the imaging, depending on how it turns out. :D I got my WW stuff from eBay. :comp: The only meetings around here were held on the one day I couldn't go, so that's what I did. If you do that, make SURE you get the points calculator/slider. The set should be somewhere around 40 bucks. It includes a Food Point Guide, an Eating Out Guide, a Journal (which also has the points range inside) the Points Slider, and a black bag to keep it all in. I don't know what all you could get at a meeting...... The fact that you are getting the magazine and have bought the cookbook says you are serious about this! Btw - please tell your friends to come on over!

Good news ladies - I'm down 1 1/2 more this week for a total of 24 pounds. Just 1 more til I get to wear the bracelet. :cp:

Today is the installation of our new minister at church. It is a formal ceremony followed by a reception. (I know the menu and have already figured my points for this. ) We have had a substitute pastor for over a year, and it will be so nice to have our own again!

Have a great day!
BBL,
Jana

Kayecee 07-20-2003 11:58 AM

Jana- As for your BIL, all I can say is OUCH!! :stars: Sending him a LOT of :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

O.k. Marti. If you are serious about this, we got your back. First of all you need the info. WW is going to change its program in the next 2 months. You need to go to the WW section on the 3FC forum. Under WW General there is a thread called "Winning Points and New 2003 Plan." It is about #6 or 7 down. Read it. I think I am going to stick to this current plan but you may not want to buy all of the info for it if you think you want to use the new one coming up. I think it is gonna be a modified Wendie plan, which is basically what I am doing.

In the meantime, you can find all of the info you need for the current WW plan online. I can tell you how many points you need. Just give me your current weight. The 3FC has all of the points info for restaurant eating. There are several sites out there that you can download journals, points calculators, etc. from. If you need your own points slide, for example, go to www.decreasingdiane.com and look under the goodies section to print out and make your own. Or, if you have a friend who attends meetings, have her to buy one for you. They are only a couple of bucks. As you can see, you have a ton of info at your fingertips. If there is anything in particular you need to know, just ask here or PM me. :D

BTW Jana! Woo Hoo on the weight loss!!! :cb: :cb: Keep it up!

Marti 07-20-2003 02:02 PM

I'm going to try this again,,,, it logged me out last time.

Jana- thank you for the visual help. I actually used it the yesterday and found that I REALLY liked how I visioned myself fitting back into my jeans that I had bought earlier this year!! So much so that I started feeling quite smug.:smug: But seriously, it really worked! thank you again! Also, congrats on the weight loss!!:) Every day is a struggle and losing just one or two lbs at a time is a huge accomplishment!! You will have to clue me in on the bracelet thing.

Kayecee- thanks for the tips on WW on line. I think my sister may have some stuff I can either get, or scan and copy from her. Hopefully she'll still have it. Will it let me know how many points I will need a day? My current weight is 145lbs. I'm really getting all hyper about all this!:D That's when I know that my motivation to start this is starting to kick in! Now that it's kicking in, it's the staying with it that's the hard part.:dizzy: But you are all so great here on this forum. I wish I had joined sooner!

I browsed around with the other topics and find that everyone seems to be like family here. I think that's a fantastic thing. I have already told a couple friends about this place,, I hope to see them here.

Well, the weather is beautiful and I have some painting to do so I will go. I think I will need to get the hang of everyones short cuts... I have no idea of what some of the initials are that you put down..... (Yes, I'm clueless!) And I'm still unsure how you put down some of your stats. (like your current weight, highest weight) the stuff you see under your login name..... feel free to guide me with that too.

Ok have a wonderful day!!
Marti

Jane 07-20-2003 07:46 PM

Hi all,

Kayecee - I had no idea you could get all that WW stuff on line!! That will sure save Marti some bucks. I did know this - you can go to dwlz.com and print out restaurant food points - I have 72 pages of them. :D All in a 3 ring binder. I also keep my daily points journal and the points of my family's favorite recipes in there. Very handy.

Marti - I have rewarded myself for pounds lost - 15 pounds gone got me a very nice walkman w/am fm radio. For 25 pounds, I have in my undies drawer a beautiful bracelet just waiting for me! At 35 gone, I am going to pick out a nice dressy fall outfit. With 100 pounds to lose, I had to do SOMETHING to keep it interesting, lol. My DH offered to buy these things for me, but I told him thanks, but no thanks, I want to do it for myself with my "stash". (The fact that I don't work outside the home and have no paycheck is to be ignored!)

I did it, ladies! I ate at the reception only what I had journaled !!! The sandwiches were so good and I was tempted to get another... .... but I didn't! I like to see the scale move downward more! And I wanted to be able to tell you guys that I DID IT!!!! Checking in here is great!

TTYL,
Jana

Kayecee 07-20-2003 10:53 PM

Hey y'all!

Jana- Way to go on the NSV! :cb: :cb: :cb: :cb: Won't be long until that bracelet starts bling blinging. :gift: 3FC has restaurant food points too. Just check the top of the forum under Fast Food Guide.

Marti- Your weight pegs you at 18-23 points according to the Wendie site. If I am wrong, someone correct me. :dizzy: As for the initials, here are a few: BTW = by the way; BIL= brother in law; MIL= mother in law; SIL= sister in law; DH= dear husband; DS= dear son; DD= dear daughter; NSV= non scale victory (i.e. sticking to your points, fitting into a smaller size even though the scale doesn't show a loss, having only a small slice of cake at a party, etc.) ; WATP= walk away the pounds videos; and of course, WW is weight watchers! LOL Just ask about any others you see! :D As for the stats, you have to go to the top of the forum to the User CP. I can't exactly remember, but it is pretty self-explanatory. I think it is under "signature" or something. Oh yeah, LOL is laugh out loud and LMAO is laughing my :censored: off and TOM is time of month (period). GOTTA know that last one. And anytime you use all caps (except in abbreviations), you are shouting. How rude of me. LOL BTW, I am a teacher, so there will be a short quiz over all of this tomorrow! :write:

Hey to everyone else! Where are you guys? :rollpin: Did you all go AWOL for the weekend? You better not be on the beach somewhere!!!! I'll be jealous. See y'all later!

fropvd 07-20-2003 11:39 PM

Oooh, thanks for the acronym lesson--I've been online for over 10 years now, so I know most of them, but WATP had me stumped.

Kayecee 07-20-2003 11:52 PM

LOL- Any more acronyms that have y'all wondering? eg (evil grin)

fropvd- I loved your profile! How long does it take to become a microbiologist? What does fropvd stand for? My other handle is kgqueen which means kindergarten queen. I stopped using it as much though because guys see the word queen and automatically try to hit on me when I play games. They don't realize I am some big old happily married reading teacher. LOL When are you moving?

Oh yeah, Marti! I forgot to mention fitday.com . This is a wonderful site that is free. You can track your weight, journal, keep fitness goals, etc. You can type in your height and weight and it will show you where you fall on the obesity scale. You can also type in a goal weight and a target date and it will tell you how many pounds you have to lose per week in order to meet that goal. It will show you reports that let you know how you are doing in different areas. Alas, it doesn't track WW points, but it is definitely worth a look-see. :D

Marti 07-21-2003 01:08 AM

Kayecee--I really hope you dont' give me a test,,, it's all too much to take in right now!!

I've checked out fitday.com ,,, hmm... probably a month ago. I started doing the journal thing and keeping track, then I started remodeling this house I'm moving into, and I completely forgot about it! So thank you for reminding me about it. I had to go in and try and remember my password!!:o (I finally remembered)

Jana, I like your rewards you set for yourself for each goal you reached. Last year a friend and I decided that after a year of being on the Nutrition Program, that we would go out the same day to the year that we started, and get makeovers. No matter what the weight loss was. We figured that if we were still staying on the program after a year, then that was worth while. Unfortunately, we didn't go,,, together. But we both went shopping on our own time and bought one outfit and had our hair done. I was amazed at how much I liked my hair better being short! The long hair (was to my behind) was just making me look more .... what's the word I'm looking for???... I don't know but the short cut made a difference.

Well, I am going to head off to bed... hope you all had a great day today. I enjoyed my time with my daughter,,, although I feel I ate to much today. Hopefully I'll get better with it.

Talk with you all tomorrow.

Jane 07-21-2003 09:14 AM

Hi all,

Kayecee - girl, you teach me something new everyday!! I did not know 3fc had the restaurants, too. Btw, after DD has the baby in Oct. she plans to go back to school... well, it would be the Spring semester, and she was majoring in Elem Ed before she took a detour.

Kat - The WATP video is a really good one. The leader of it is not young and not too thin. I can keep up with it.... well, the 1 mile, anyway, not the others, yet.

Marti - glad you had fun with your DD9. I think having something new done to our hair every once in awhile is a necessity. My stylist recently went a little darker with mine and left some volume in the back at my request. It made a lot of difference, and I love it! When I got home I asked DH if he could tell any difference and, with a deer-in-the-headlights look, he stammered... uh, I think it's a lot lighter....

Here is a message to the awol gals: Please don't think you have to be On Program to keep posting here. In the past, I have left this thread becasuse I was ashamed that I slipped, and I don't want any of you to do that! The whole idea here is to be healthier, so if you are just drinking more water, you are doing something positive for yourself. Or if you are doing any sort of physical exercise at all, it's a good thing. Anyway, we are here to help and inspire you, so please, keep posting, and as Kayecee says: We Got Your Back! It's a team effort and those of us who are doing so well now will need you in the future! And if you don't want to mention weight, don't! Just remember that we care about you!

I just had to say that....

BBL (be back later)
TTYL, (talk to you later)
TTFN (ta ta for now)

Hi Ladies..

Long time no see! Ive missed coming here so much.
We've been computerless for a few days. Hubby is still trying to install windows xp, and weve had nothing but problems. And xp's not even in yet. Grrr! I feel so helpless without my computer.

I hope everyones doing well. Congrats Jana! Your one lb away from your bracelet!
Hello to everyone else, new and old!

Ive been doing well eating wise. Other than one little slip up. We went to a local fair on Saturday and I had my first ever funnel cake. Yummmmmm! It was as good as you all said they were. To make up for it I drank nothing but water all day, and the next day. Ive been eating pretty good lately, 3 good meals a day, with just fruit for snacks in between. Yayyy me.
I think Im going to really have to watch my sugar. I seem to get a headache whenever I eat or drink too much of it. Including the funnel cake! It was almost worth it....
Unfortunatly, as good as Ive been with food, Ive been bad with going to the gym. One time last week! Shame on me. Oh well...upward and onward...right? I dont know how good I would have done anyway, I had a headache almost everyday last week. Ive almost gone through an entire bottle of Advil Migraine.

Anyway...I better get off the computer. Weve had some pretty good thunderstorms passing through all morning, and the lightening is starting up again.
Ill be back as soon as the computer will let me!

Take care lovely ladies!

Michelle

Kayecee 07-21-2003 12:29 PM

All right, girls! Time for your quiz!

Whadda ya mean.... the dog ate your homework?!?! :nono: Yeah, yeah! And Antonio called me a few seconds ago and asked me out on a date! :genie: LOL Oh well, I'll let you slide for now.

Marti- YW (your welcome) for the fitday reminder. As for the password thing, I use just one for everything so I won't have to remember from site to site. I also use Notepad to keep up with info like that so I can check it if I need to. Are you done with your remodeling? DH and I started building last spring and we still aren't done! :^:

Jana- I ditto the note to the awol gals!

Tell DD to take my advice and finish her masters degree while she is at it. I wish I had. I am about to go back this fall so I can get certified in leadership and become a principal some day. :D (And I love the hair story- my hubby is the same way- LOL)

Michelle- I'm feeling your puter pain! :stars: Mine went down a month or so ago and I thought I was gonnna go bonkers. Sorry to hear about your headaches. Do you know what is causing them?

O.K. Big news here- WI (weigh in) today- I was a naughty girl at times last week but kept hopping back on the wagon- Did I lose 1 pound- 2 pounds- 3- 4- NO WAY! I lost 5 pounds! Woo Hoo! :cb: :flow2: :dancer:  :cb: I got off and on the scale like 20 times because I didn't believe it. I just have to keep reminding myself that the loss will slow down because right now I am sooo heavy and just starting. But for now... thank you whoooosh fairy! I can't wait to go to onederland! (for the newbies, that's weighing under 100 pounds) See y'all later!

need2losemore 07-21-2003 12:41 PM

Hello all.
I don't remember when my last post was. I seemed to suddenly become very busy in the last few days. DS turned 3 on Saturday and we had a party.:hb: Its sad how they grow so fast.:( I went to buy him his birthday outfit, and it was a size 6 in little boys. Him and his brother are both tall for their age, but it gets a little pricey buying new clothes cause they grow so fast. But, shopping at Wal-Mart definately helps.
I lost 3 lbs last week. I started doing my exercise videos in the moring, and going to the track in the evening. I am now trying to decide what reward I want when I lose 10 lbs. (Thanks for the idea,Jana) I also cut waaaaaaaaaaaay back on my portion size. I use a salad plate as my dinner plate. It helps alot. Thats all for now. Hope you all have a good week. Please, someone, send rain this way!!!
Ricci

Kayecee 07-21-2003 02:30 PM

Ricci- Congrats on the 3 pounds! My DD turned 3 in March and my DS just turned 10, so I know what you mean about growing up so fast! :( Y'all aren't getting any rain there?!? I live in Northeast Arkansas and we got about an inch this morning. It was a slow moving steady rain so it lasted quite a while for no more than we got. My hubby finishes concrete for a living so I will be happy to do a rain dance and send it ALL to you! As for the clothes, make sure that you are cruising the clearance racks right now. I have been scoring some really good deals because they always put their summer clothes on right before school starts.

Well, Mom just walked in. Later gang!

FrouFrou 07-21-2003 04:19 PM

Hi Ladies, HAPPY MONDAY to ALL!

I'm back after being MIA for a few days. There were a few tough days in there I just kinda gave up, didn't help it was TOM which made it 100 times worse. I had to tell myself I have come too far to screw up now. I have been working hard for a few months and haven't lost a whole lot but the point is I have lost some and I don't want to go back, ever! I notice some of you ladies have the WATP videos, I too have one. I have the 2 mile one and I do love it. Doing that video goes by so much faster than walking on the treadmill for 30 minutes. I also do Richard Simmons, the original one, I love that one also. It doesn't seem like exercising to me so it is fun. Anyway, today is a new day and I am back on track.

CONGRAT'S to all who lost this week, actually last week. :cp: :cb: :high:  :bravo: WTG ladies, Jana, Kayecee, Ricci and anyone else I may have missed. You ladies are doing a great job.

Jana, you will be wearing that bracelet by the end of the week for sure YGG!

Kayecee, you crack me up, I love your sense of humor. :) Hey thanks for posting that site decreasing diane even though I have all the WW stuff I thought I would visit the site and I found some good tips. How did you find that site, do you know her? She has done a wonderful job losing the weight and looks great. I enjoy looking at others stories because it truly motivates and inspires me.

Michelle, I do hope you get to feeling better.

Ricci, hope your son had a very Happy Birthday! :hb:

Hi to everyone else, hope you ladies are having a great day. See ya later. :flow1:

short & sassy 07-21-2003 07:46 PM

Hey girls, just wanted to stop in and say hello. I'm on my way out the door, it's time to go for my evening walk. I'm determined to get this weight off. It's just taking longer than I'd like.

I hope everyone had a good day and I'll check in with you girls after my test tomorrow.

Ruth

Kayecee 07-21-2003 10:34 PM

Hey Y'all!

Well, not too bad today! I sure am tired though. (can't figure out why- didn't really do anything strenuous today- except maybe heating up that Lean Cuisine in the microwave! You can tell I am a master chef! LOL)

Cristi- Welcome back! I can feel it in my bones- you're gonna have a good week! :sunny: :goodvibes :goodvibes Thanks for the kudos and compliments! I am glad you liked the decreasing diane site too. No, I don't know her, but I lurk the boards here and at WW, so I am sure I picked up that little tidbit at one or the other. :)

Ruth- Hope you do well tomorrow! :write:

Hey to everyone else! See y'all later!

Marti 07-21-2003 11:53 PM

Is anyone having problems with getting logged out?

Well, I have to say that today is extremely Hot!!:hot: I believed it got up to 99' today. That's hot for Oregon. Makes it difficult to want to do anything. (except lounge in the Air condition):D

We are getting closer to finishing the house. Should be able to move in by the first week of Aug. (not looking forward to the packing.....:(

I want to say "Good for you!" to all who are working out at the gym or home. I haven't gotten that far with myself yet. But I intend to. Right now my main priority is to finish this house and that's a lot of work in it's self! My bones ache at night. As I have started before, I always work with my nutrition part of my "diet" or as I like to call it a change of lifestyle... getting into a routine of eating right then slowly working my way into the work outs. Work it slowly. (maybe I'm moving too slow....)

Anyone having difficulty with their water intake?? I am having such a time with it. But I'm determined to change that. Summers are always more difficult for me. You wouldn't think so but it is for me. I do have a trick I use (or is it really a trick??) for when I do drink more water... I use only water bottles to drink out of rather than a glass. I find it easy to increase the amount I drink when using one. Using a glass, I tend to sip.... slowly. And I could be working on the same glass of water that I started out with in the beginning of the day!!:yikes:

So,,, my first tiny little goal for the rest of this month is to INCREASE my water. Get some of this bloat of my bod!! You would think that with the weight loss that I had earlier in the year, that I would learn from all my mistakes. I had high blood pressure, major headaches, and all kinds of things. I had managed to lower my blood pressure to where I no longer need to take medication!! My headaches went away and I felt fabulous..... Gotta get that feeling back.

Ok, I feel like I'm babbling around and not making a whole lot of sense. (must be the heat!) So I'm going to go melt into the couch and drink some---you got it WATER!!:D

talk with you all later

Just had to add before I head to bed.

I did go melt into, not the couch, but the recliner, and I sat and drank almost all but not quite,a 2liter bottle of water! What was I thinking?? I'm going to have a restless night!!: :o

Anyway, just wanted to say that I'm going to do it. Whether I wet the bed or not!!
:D

Have a good night all!

It's Tuesday!

Good morning all you jaded ladies,

Michelle - aha... funnel cakes are sooooo good! Our county fair bagan yesterday, and since it is so cool outside, I think we may go this evening. We were in the same storm path as you, but the cooler weather today was worth it!

Kaycee - :cp: :cp: 5 pounds!!!! WAY TO GO!! Doesn't it just feel great?? I'll just be so glad when DD gets a degree! She would make a wonderful teacher - it takes a special person. Like you!

Ricci - 3 pounds!!! Woo Hoo!! I'm doing the happy dance for you -

Cristi - So many people do the WATP videos.... aren't they great? I'll be glad when I can move into the 2 mile zone.

Ruth - hi, hope your summer is going well.

Marti - hope your bed was dry this morning, lol. I know from past experience that my weight loss is so much better when I get the water in. Wow, your house will be so nice! Bet you can't wait!

Hi to Kat, Carree and Angie.....

There is a Sears applicance repairman coming today to fix my stove. ......... (hope his butt crack ain't showin'!!) :yikes: We have propane gas, and the stove sometimes doesn't come on when you turn it on. My house has filled with gas twice! Hopefully, it's something minor, because the stove is only 3 years old. I love it, though, because it has a delayed timer start up, and I can program it to come on while we are gone. Very handy for Sunday dinners.

What's everyone doing today? I plan to finish the laundry, play with the grandkids and burn some more CDs.

Hey Y'all!

Marti- Don't worry. You weren't babbling. Sometimes it helps to make small changes one at a time. I read somewhere that it takes 18 straight days of doing something to make it a habit. If you break all of the stuff that you want to do into smaller pieces, you are more likely to stick with each. Oh yeah, they have Depends on sale at Wal-Mart!!!! Just kidding! We drink a lot of iced tea here in the South. I make mine decaffeinated with Splenda and count that as part of my water. Maybe you could do that- or lemonade. I tried Crystal Lite but just could not stand it. It leaves a twang in my mouth. Splenda doesn't leave a nasty afterbite like some of the other no-cal sweeteners. As for the logging out problem, I never log out... it saves me from logging on the next time: translation= lazy. Congrats on getting so close to the move-in date. I know you will love it.

Jana- Thanks for the compliment. Hey now.... don't be talkin' bout no butt cracks- my hubby has a tan line 1/2 way down!!! :dizzy: (O.k. maybe not half- LOL) Seriously though, you better make sure that stove is fixed. It sounds dangerous! Butt cracks and gas don't mix. :o

Well, gotta climb Mount Washmore again! I hate laundry! One of these days I am gonna hire a maid... probably when I marry Antonio. See y'all later.

Hello everyone!

Sorry I've been AWOL. Another hectic week last week. This week I started the new job at LJS. I was late my first day because as I was driving to work my truck caught on fire :flame: :fr: . Just got off the phone with our mechanic, he says it's totaled :stress: now we have to go out and find a new to me vehicle to drive :yikes:

Enough about me, welcome to all the newbies and to the lost ones, welcome back. Great job everyone for staying OP.

Jana, hope your stove can be fixed! Watch out for that repairman, crack kills, you know!

Bye everyone, I'm off to go car shopping.

Hi ladies,

Kayecee - I like Spenda, too, and have added it to stuff that the family hasn't detected. :D I have yet to cook with it, though, have you? It is a little expensive, but hey, our health is priceless! We're worth it, dahling!

Mel - glad to see your post! I bet you about freaked out when the truck caught fire! You're lucky you weren't hurt! :lucky: So how's the new job going?

Hi to the others.

DH and I went to the fair ALONE today. I hadn't been there w/o kids in 32 years... when I was 17! It was so nice to just walk around and do what we wanted to do. I am very proud of the food choices - I had a hamburger, 2/3 order of fries and tea sweetened w/Equal. THAT'S ALL!! I wanted a funnel cake, and would have got it, probably, but we had already passed the stand where they were sold, and I was too tired to walk all the way back, lol. So don't be TOO proud of me! But sheesh, we walked a lot, so I sure got plenty of exercise!

Hope everyone is having a good evening!
BBL,
Jana

PS It's somebody else's turn to start a new thread soon, okay?? Thanks!! :D

Hey Y'all!

Mel- What on earth caused your truck to catch on fire?!?!? I am just glad no one was hurt. Well, look on the bright side- you have a job now to help pay for the new vehicle. :) Did you have full coverage? How do you like your new job? I hope everything else went well today.

Jana- Congrats on the funnel cake resistance (even if it was because you were pooped ;) ) Sounds like you did pretty good on the other food choices, too. I usually buy my Splenda at Dollar General. Do y'all have those stores where you live? We call it the poor folks' Wal-Mart around here! :D LOL

If I can figure out how, I will start the next thread. :?: DUH :?: See y'all later!

Hi Ladies...

Hope everyone is doing well.
Ive been a busy lil girl as usual. Ive been fighting off the relatives who want me to watch their kids...and losing. Can you still see those footprints on my back Jana?
I worked the vending route today and came away with just a lemonade. I said "no" to the chocolate demon! Yahooo!

Congrats on the funnel cake victory Jana. Youre a stronger woman than I! Ive been thinking about tying that splenda, but Im kinda scared of it. Equal and the other sweeteners give me a headache...(what doesnt?)...so Ive been hesitant.
So tell us...did ya have to stare at butt crack all day?

Oh Mel..Im so sorry to hear about your car catching fire. That must have been terrifying! And on your way to your first day of a new job too. I hope they understood. I thought stuff like that only happened in the movies. On the bright side...you get a new car!! Just say it like Bob Barker does....."a newww carrr!"....and it will all sound so much better.

Kaycee....man oh man, you climb Mount Washmore more than anyone Ive ever known. Does it ever end? I swear sometimes my laundry multiplies while I sleep. Except the socks of course. One runs and hides.

Cristi...thanks for wishing my headaches away. I think it worked! Its the first time in a week I havent had one. And it felt great!
I go through those phases too, where I feel like just giving up. But just keep reminding yourself about how well youve done so far. And keep coming back here..so we can all remind you too!
Thats what I love about this place...lose, gain or maintain...these ladies understand, and are always here for you.

Marti....I am exactly like you in the water department. I could make one bottle of water last all day. I know I need to drink more, but sometimes I have to choke it down. The only time I chug it down is when Im at the gym. Other than that its a fight for me. I was getting better, then hubby came home with a giant can of iced tea mix. Now I go straight for that first. Some days I wont drink anything at all. I know its stupid, and I end up dehydrating myself enough to get a headache. I do the same thing, Ill drink more if I drink it out of a bottle.
Ill join you in your mini goal. Increase the water intake! Im going for minimum 6 bottle tomorrow. How about you?

Hello to everyone else. I hope life is good in your part of the world!

Well, time for me to get my great big butt to bed. Hubby wants me to go to the gym at 7am with him. Im sure Ill fight it and just want to ZZZzzzZZZzzzZZZzzzZZZ.
Wish me luck.

Michelle
