  • Morning girls,

I had a horrid night's sleep and my foot is really hurting so if ever there was a day I'd have loved to just roll over and go back to sleep, this would have been it. But I have today and tomorrow on duty. At least I have Christmas Eve and Christmas Day off and I'm happy for that. Wanted to have a nice dinner / evening for DH and I. Now we can.

Annie - I don't think you can see your own egg light on. Not sure why not but I think that's how it works Poor Sassy I'm sure she's not sure what exactly happened to her. But being young, she will bounce back. I'm glad they gave you painkillers for her. I guess she wasn't too happy with you and let you know. Our first cat used to give DH a total stink eye - it was really funny - when he'd take her to the vet She'd ignore him for a day too. Tell me they don't have feelings and personalities

Ceejay - good going on the evaluation. I always said (and I know this from being a squeezed in the "middle manager") that we could never really rate people as well as they deserved, mostly because then we'd have to give them the best raise and that would take away from the suck ups who did less and got more for it True story. Again and again. One place I worked at (where I was not a manager), the boss said part of all the manager's raises were held out and put in the pool to be given to the golden boy/girl at the moment that year. But at least you did good. Don't you put your trash out the night before? We did that in TN and do it here. Would never beat the trash men otherwise. Tide (detergent) also makes washer cleaner packets. DH said he really likes how that makes the washer smell nice. The washer repairman said I could use bleach or vinegar. Bleach if I haven't cleaned the washer in a while, vinegar if I did it on a monthly basis. We have a septic tank and I hate to put that much bleach water in the tank.

Shad - I'm glad you have defied the Mayans. We live to raise more havoc I'm sure Regarding your other comment, I'm not so sure it's about putting money first as much as some times our sense of duty or willingness to be a good guy and help out gets us into those situations where we'd wish we'd kept our mouths shut. So you've signed up for what - 3 more months? - of insanity? Yes, DH did win at the casino the last 2 times he was there in fact. Gave him a little bit of seed money (no pun intended) for him to spend and he mostly chose to spend it on seed feeding his zoo out in the yard. He now has the deer, turkeys and probably a few squirrels hooked on woodpecker food. It's got alot of nuts and is scented with a fruity cherry scent - probably has some dried fruit bits in it too. He tosses a cup full out with the corn and it's the go to food for all the animals and the first to disappear. This is the man who got the mockingbirds hooked on strawberry cereal bars when we were down south. He's like the candy king of the animals Glad you will be able to spend some time with DS and the baby. Look forward to seeing more pictures of that cutie. Enjoy your visit.

I guess I should trudge off and get ready for the day. Not sure a second cup of coffee would do any good. Have a good weekend ladies, I'm sure everyone is on full speed on the hustling and bustling.
  • Well Annie now I don't know. When you go to post you can't see the egg lights but if you're just browsing the page you should see that you are on.

  • Hello Ladies,

I'm still here.. Work is crazy as ever... Two weeks in a row I was in Tyler, TX... it's about a 2 hr drive from my house each way, so i stayed over. It made it pretty rough having to get ready for Christmas which we will be celebrating Christmas Eve at my house. AND to add to all that stress I had tendontitis in both of my feet! This is what i get for wearing flat sandles all summer long... It finally took it's toll on my feet. I was put on steroids for 1 week, which helped quite a bit, but now I am in a boot, so things are slow. But this morning I woke up feeling great. I thanked God for all that I have.. for my family, Chick sisters, my friends. Life is good.

Mel - love the picture. Glad to hear you didn't get all the storms that were predicited. Stay warm today..

Happy - sorry to hear you had a bad nights sleep... Please take care of your foot. I have learned when your feet hurt, you are miserable. I've learned my lesson.

Laura - sounds like you had a busy day. Hope your party went well last night. Is your recipe for cheesecake a easy one? I've always wanted to make one of those.

I just looked at the clock and i need to run. I have a massage scheduled for 10am and I don't want to be late. I will post later to finish post. Trying to start this holiday weekend in a relaxed mode...(right)...
  • Hello ladies, so I am feelign so bad that I have not been able to get here. Just truging along and trying to get everything done for Christmas. Finally done Shopping...thought DH was going to kill me last night...whoo did I overspend. Oh, well, the big kiddies will be getting mostly clothes so that added up a lot faster than I anticipated. DD3 is getting a bunch of My little pony. Going to MIL today for dinner adn so the kids can open her presents. also DD3 turns 4 today so we will celebrate that too.

I am working tomorrow, so I am missingout on my extended family get together. But I can't drive up to Glenview after a 12 hr shift at work. Christmas Eve and Day will be quiet, just us all haging out at home...no extended anything. Hope everyone has a good Holiday.

    Luv and Hugs!!
  • Ellen
I like spending time at home alone in the quiet. I understand about the 12 hour shifts. It's both mentally and physically a challenge.

    Happy
Ouch on those feet. Glad that you have off both Christmas eve and Christmas day. We have a city ordinance that we can't put our garbage out the night before. Some people do but they could be fined.

    Mel
Love the picture and glad the storm fizzled out. Poor seniors they don't need all that excitement. I blame the media on most of this. They sure like to blow things out of whack.
    ------
Think I've got rested. Now I'll have to get back into the swing of being on my work schedule.
Talked to my sister in Dallas this morning. Things are going well with them. They will be leaving Monday to fly back to California to have Christmas with their children and grandchildren. Sigh I work the holidays. This is my four day week.
  • Hello Ladies..

I think I have my food shopping done for Christmas eve and Annie's house. If not too bad, you get what you get...lol.

Sassy is recovering somewhat OK. FINALLY she went potty outside. Of course I had to shovel the porch and the grass to make it so she would go potty. The things we do for our furry friends. Sheesh. She is still hurting as when the pain meds wear off she tends to moan just a bit,,,,God love her.

I have so much to do before all my fam arrives on Christmas eve. Trying to get some of it done...cleaning day is tomorrow,,today is cooking and baking...have a marvelous Sat/Sun/Mon.

    Loves and hugs
  • Hi girls. At the salon for a touch up & cut. The party was fun - a lot of nice, interesting people. Late night though- got home at 3 am!!! Still, I was up for the 9 am circuit class this morning - yay me. it'll be an early bedtime tonight for sure!!

  • Dear Santa,

All I would like right now is a few more hours of sleep.

    Hello ladies,

I took some Nyquil last night and it really zonked me out. Work up this morning for a potty run and was really disappointed to see it was 15 minutes before the alarm would go off. Sure did want to crawl back into bed. Been cold out here and we got a dusting of snow overnight - big fat flakes. Looks pretty. I worked until 4 yesterday, full day today. Sundays are generally quiet - I expect this one to be a bit more busy but I hope it's not crazy. Not sure I want to hit up the grocery store tomorrow, so I'll have to make a run after work. Will be DH's kind of shopping trip - in and out FAST!!! Talked to my Mom and sister last night. Sis said she is disagreeing with Mom (translation - Mom is being onery) about all sorts of things. I feel for her a bit but as Sis says - nothing she can't take in stride

Mel - sending you a bit of Mr. Sunshine I think it's been generally overcast here too but the nights have been clear and full of stars. Maybe to combat the loo overflow you have to install those toilet paper dispensers like they have in the public parks that only dispense one flimsy sheet at a time - eventually their arms will get tired pulling sheets and they might use the correct amount of product God bless the plumber man in a building full of seniors - worse than toddlers flushing anything and everything. Hope the office is not too busy and you don't get designated as solver of all world problems. Not your job mon!

Laura - hope the hair came out great. A round of applause and an atta girl for getting up to go to an exercise class even after a late night out. You the woman!!! I'd never do it. Thank you for the card and the article you clipped about turkeys. Very interesting, I learned some stuff I didn't know.

Annie - I'm glad Sassy is getting along although it sounds like the poor girl really had a bad time of her surgery. I agree with you about the dinner - if you don't like what I worked so hard on, starve I'm sure everything will be delicious. Wish I could run by to sample a plate.

It appears Michelle is having a great time on her vacation. Good - she deserves it.

Ceejay - I'm sorry you have to work over the holidays. Geez, do people really need indoor running water THAT BADLY? Hope it goes quickly and quietly.

Ellen - bummer that you can't get to the family celebration but I agree with you - a 12 hour shift is bad enough, who'd want a long drive after that. Oops on the overspending but if it was for clothes, how frivoulous could that be? Guess you'll have to sell more. Did you win the contest they had at work for selling the most?

Patty - boy that travel schedule sounds exhausting. Ouch on the foot - hope you are feeling better and that the massage helped relax the tight bits.
  • Well it looks like 3FC decided to post my post before I was done. At least I didn't lose it.

It's getting lighter outside and I can see that the snow on the deck is because it's snowing right now. Big fat snowflakes falling oh so slow because there is no wind out. And it must be rather cold out so the snow is drier and fluffy. It's really pretty.

    Merry Christmas Java!

Shad - I hope by now you are back to the relative peace of your own house.

Coffee did nothing to wake me up. Hopefully a warm shower will do the trick. But first a peek at the sale paper for the grocery store. Have a good Sunday ladies.
  • Good Sunday Morning...just got my noodles made for turkey and noods for tomorrow nite. Sassy is feeling better. She at least has come to life at appropriate times...C is at it...working to bring those stops that are ALL READY out of bread and such! God love him. I just have to get to cleaning and will start directly after this post. Or soon! lol Later gaters!
  • My Noodles....
    Here ya go...enjoy!

  • Happy
I may have to try the Nyquil zzzzz. I've heard it's good. Bet the snowflakes are beautiful. They're predicting snow on Christmas day. I'd like it if it were just snow showers and not stick to anything. We have to keep the tanks full at all times. I'm praying that these three days are quiet. City employees from the light office, electric crew, and water sewer crew are off this week end. Not sure about fire and or police departments. We're public servants.

    Mel
Sending you sunshine for this week. Hold down the fort. That's what I'm having to do this week.

    -------
Santa has already been to the water plant. He left me cookies.
Nothing new. Texted my bff who will be coming back to Arkansas today from Utah. Her niece was having some difficulties with her gps. So I went on line and did map quest. I can understand though. She was on I 80 and there's a stretch of that interstate where there is aboslutely nothing. Don't think her niece realized how far it would be from Arkansas to Utah.Bff should be eternally grateful to her for doing this.
