Ceejay - I bought three pairs of jeans from a local Target store. They had the same label, same size and came with a label ' short leg length'
One pair I can hardly button or zip and the leg length would do justice to someone over 5' 9" and another fits reasonable well. The third pair is too big in the butt and too tight in the legs. Well made in China. You get what you pay for and there is no quality control.

Happy - hope you can sort that foot out soon. It's not good to have bad feet, they have to take you a long way yet.

Laura - how annoying. But the local dr will probably have some ideas and history etc. to make a bit of a decision.

Michelle = sounds like you are all set up in the new place now. Once you get the paperwork out of the way you can start the new life.

Annie - what a whirlwind you are about the house. You can't have McCawsome. He's mine. Contract ends at Christmas. They haven't decided on extensions yet apparently. Not sure about what I will do if they want me to extend. There isn't much work around at the moment. Life is very quiet on the workfront. I've only had two recruiters ring me over the past couple of weeks and that was for stuff I've never really done.

Mel - great that the cops turn out for you time after time. Most of the time they get such a bad rap from joe public and yet they keep turning up to try to keep us safe and secure.

Not much happening here. I need to go pay a couple of bills and then bed. I would have liked to watch Mrs Browns Boys but it is on just too late. It's a bit risque - real British or rather Irish humour.

So I'm off to pay the bills and get on with the last of my daily chores before bed.

I guess this is my Thursday and tomorrow is Friday for me at work...as is much of the rest of the USA. I do not do black Friday shopping, however JCP has got me slightly enticed to go out and make one stop. Slow cookers, blenders, toasters, blegian waffle maker (I want), toaster ovens, coffee maker, hand mixer, griddle...all only 8 bucks each. Now I said only slightly enticed to go, thereby meaning I probably will not. Also 50 styles of womens boots for 25 bucks a pair. hmmm. Here ya go SHADDIE AND CEEG...skinny jeans for 10 bucks...hahahahaha....

I am babysitting lil man tonight as Sam and Chris are going to his grandpa's birthday dinner and no children are invited. Ok by me, I get to spend time with lil man. So SassyBelle and I are babysitting tonight. C will stay home and get his rest to work tomorrow so he can have TG off.

They are ruling the big blast explosion a homicide. There were no gas leaks anywhere. Evidently there was a white van seen in the neighborhood and also in the driveway of that home several times in the past weeks. The van was seen there the day of the explosion. Something illegal went down. THe woman and her boyfriend were at a gambling casino when it happened and the daughter was spending the night with a friend. Convenient. I think the woman knows exactly what happened. That neighborhood is still blocked off by police. Even the residence of the area have to have a special escort to enter. Not because of blasts, but unsafe conditions and it is a crime scene.

SHADDIE...let's see it is only 35 days till CHristmas. Not too long to hang in there in that confusion.

CHELLE...glad things are settling down just a bit. Don't let the butt drag this paperwork out too long, otherwise get a lawyer, if you can afford one.

MELLIE...come back when you can....too much going on around the holidays, and sleeping in a bit, you probably needed it.

HAPPY...yes you are working harder, anytime you are on your feet, it is harder. Co-worker and I have decided we need to get up and walk around several times a day as we are getting "Office A$$". Shouldn't of quit CVS I guess...

LAURA...four grocery stores for shopping. Probably spent as much in gas than you saved. Altho, I hit Aldi's and then Kroger or Marsh for the items that Aldi's does not have. Too bad you don't live near me, I love my doc. She is the best.

CEEG...as much as I dislike trying on clothes when shopping, we almost have to due to the sizing differences. I do not like shopping and even like trying on clothes less. I have a blouse I need to STILL return at JCP. Just don't wanna go.

Hello to all the worldlies.

Loves and hugs.

Hi everyone -

Super quick post as I have way too much to get done by the end of the week and especially by end of day tomorrow. I'll be taking my computer home tonight and tomorrow night and maybe working part of T'giving day from home.

Not much time for personals except to tell Annie that if C bought you more beautiful jewelry for Christmas, he's definitely a keeper! (But then we all knew that already!)

I hope you all are doing well. I don't know how much I'll be back here between now and Thursday, but I'll try and post when I can.

Annie - I've got a lawyer, but since the ex and I are agreeing on most things, I may unretain her and save the money for moving to CA. The paperwork just has to be in by the end of December. I'm hoping that we get it done and submitted before I leave for CA on 12/20.

Much love and many hugs,

I tried meditation last night. I didn't realize how much it would help. I'll be doing that again.

I promised myself that if I got more than 1.0 miles on the pedometer during the day that I didn't have to exercise at night. I made that goal yesterday.

Looking forward to this week end. My sister has been doing research on our family tree. If the weather permits, I want to go find the cemetary where my grandmother is buried on Friday after Thanksgiving.

-------
Michelle
Take a few moments for youself this week end. My week ends have been flying by.

Annie
Wow that some good bargains on those small appliances. Have fun keeping the lil man tonight. That is kinda suspicious about the blast. Wouldn't mind having another pair of dress slacks.

Laura
I like to do all my grocery shopping in one place. Guess I'm lazy.

Afternoon everyone. Been working on a time-consuming project yesterday afternoon and all morning. It's not over yet... part two to come.

Ceejay - Glad the meditation helped. Good idea to motivate yourself to get more activity during the day. You work long shifts, I'm sure it's tough to exercise after a long day. Re the multiple stores - Trader Joe's has several items we like that are private brands and so they can't be bought at other stores. And the Aldi is right next door to the produce mkt/deli, so it's not too inconvenient. Way way back when - certainly before my time - it used to be the only way to shop because the bakery was separate from the grocer was separate from the butcher was separate from the produce market, and here bf & I are going to a separate place for deli/produce and other stores just to get specific items and/or the best prices. And every once in a while we go to a separate butcher shop too!

Michelle - You sound busy as heck at work. Don't worry about getting here, just make sure you get enough rest to do it all again tomorrow!! And I hope things quiet down a bit in the coming weeks.

Annie - Have fun babysitting the li'l guy tonight. Wow, those are quite the deals at JCP. Even thought I don't do much cooking, I just LOVE kitchen equipment and gadgets of all sorts. Wondering if the explosion was done for insurance money...it was the neighbors next door that got killed when their house collapsed on them. I read that 80-something of the 100-something houses in the subdivision were damaged. RE the the shopping at multiple stores - not really price-motivated more than just wanting certain stuff. Though the market a couple miles down the road has much better deli prices than the chain store by the house (and bigger selection and fresher stuff due to the high turnover). Aldi just happens to be next door, and it always has cheaper prices on some stuff - no waiting for sales. Office A$$ - LOL.

Mel - Hope you had a good shopping trip!!

Shad - It might be a good thing to not have the contract in Darwin extended... Will things pick up after the first of the year??

Hellos to Happy, Ellen, Patty & Java.
===
Nothing much to report from here. Didn't do much of anything last night - just a load of laundry. Turned on the tv to the football game to check the score and wished I hadn't - my team was getting pounded, and that's the way it ended up, thoroughly whooped.

Going to see "Flight" tonight starring Denzel Washington. It's gotten good reviews. Bf went to see "Lincoln" with a friend last night but I didnt' get a chance to ask him how he liked it as I was already in bed half asleep when he got home.

TTFN!

Good morning all,

I decided to get a few things done this morning - washed a load of clothes, finished washing the dirty dishes DH didn't get to last night, fed and watered the turkey flock outside so I'm running a bit behind schedule. Working today too. Did get the grocery shopping done yesterday so I'm set for Thanksgiving tomorrow. Might have DH roast the turkey on the grill leaving the oven free to bake up the side dishes. I was only going to get a turkey breast but they were over twice the price of a whole turkey. So I got a fresh turkey instead for the same price as a frozen breast. We're going to have lots and lots of turkey meat (don't tell the wild boys outside tho ) The dentist appointments went ok. I will find out the actual damage to my pocketbook next month after we have the consult after the x-rays and such are reviewed. I already know I am sunk for about $600 for the broken crown. That's alot of days to work to make that up.

Annie - I saw the 8 dollar deals on tv too. Just remember they are cheap versions designed to get you in the door and buy other stuff I got suckered into that once - the stuff just doesn't hold up that well so it's ok for occasional use or a quickie gift if you need one. That is horrid about the home blast. I'm sure the facts will come out soon enough. So sad that someone innocent died because of this and so many innocent people's lives were messed up too.

Laura - how was the movie Flight?

Ceejay - have a good time visiting with your family.

Michelle - since the ex started this whole thing I hope that he will at least extend you the courtesy of getting whatever needs to be done finished so that you can both carry on with your lives. So get thee to the paperwork.

Shad - I used to buy alot from Target when I lived in TN (the closest one here is 3 hours away). But the one thing I'd never get there was clothing. It was really sized off and inconsistent - tho your story of the pants was funny.

Well coffee cup is empty and I need to get dressed and pack a lunch so I'm out of here. Sorry for the lack of personals, will try for a proper post tomorrow after the meal has been cooked and eaten.

Everyone have a happy Thanksgiving (happy plain old Thursday/Friday to you Miss Shad). Safe travels to everyone moving about.

Morning girls...working till 1 today then we are all outta here. Gots lots to do in the pie baking area. Still have to make a stop at the grocery..blah. Must go home first to see what I lack for the pies. I know I need light corn syrup for the pecan pie and cool whip and cream cheese for the peanutbutter pie. Other than that, I need to look. Apple pie is under control. Probably good on the lemon pie. Maybe I don't need to stop at the house first. We will see.

HAPPY...yea, the JCP are "Cooks" brand, never heard of them. I had already decided not to go due to the brand of ware. Plus I DO NOT want to fight the crowds and I hate shopping. I will just sleep in till 6, then get started with my day. Don't work too hard at work and you, too have a happy TG.

CEEG...safe travels and enjoy the family. Happy TG.

MELLIE...get your office work done and head for the hills. Happy TG to you too!

LAURA...how was the movie? Happy Turkey Day!

CHELLE...enjoy yourself a little this weekend...Happy TG.

SHADDIE...well happy Wednesday/Thursday you turkey..haha

Hello worldlies.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!!! Love and Hugs

Morning all.

Happy - We've had fresh turkey at bf's brother's place for the past couple years now and it's always been so nice and tender. Hope you enjoy it.

Ceejay - Will you be at the uncles' for the holiday? Safe travels! Do you have a 4-day weekend, or are you back to work on Sunday?

Mel - Hope your long weekend is a quiet one! :shh:

Annie - Nice you have a lot of opportunities to see the little guy.

Shad - Still quiet in Darwin??

Hellos to the rest of the Worldlies. Hope you all have a nice Thanksgiving holiday!!

==

The movie "Flight" was good. It's a movie about the aftermath of a flight in which the pilot makes a heroic landing - the investigation, etc. And let's just say, it wasn't heavy into the technical aspects of the investigation, but the human side. I didn't know much going into it, but I enjoyed it. If you're scared of flying...it might not be for you - the beginning is pretty scary stuff.

Oh, and bf saw "Lincoln" the other night. He said it was very well done, that Daniel Day Lewis was very good in it, and that he enjoyed the movie. That said...he also said the movie moved a bit too slowly and was a bit too long. It's mostly dialog too. Not sure it's something I want to see in the theater - 2.5 hours long. I suppose Lewis may be nominated for an Oscar and I'll have wanted to see it...I'll probably wait for it to come to dvd before watching it.

Okay, back from my meeting. Not happy at all that the admin has told me after getting off the call with our software support person that the software functionality is not where it needs to be for what she is supposed to use it for. She also made an absurd statement that she doesn't anticipate it being fully functional by the end of next year! I'm kind of ticked that I got blindsided by this in spite of having weekly status meetings for months and months. Grrr. Nice way to ruin my day.

I'll move on before I continue to rant. I hope to leave around two pm today to get an early train (office closes at 3 but the boss always tells us we can leave earlier to get the special trains that run before the holiday). I will make the pumpkin roll after work - wish me luck that it comes out alright!

If I have time, I'll go to an exercise class tonight.

That's it for me! TTFN!
