Hi there chicks,
Michelle - I'm glad hubby made it through the biopsy. Poor guy, I can imagine the pain with them taking chunks out like that. It's just a pistol that you have to wait so long to get the results back. I hope he has a fast recovery. What an ordeal this has been. Are you taking time off or just trying to work around all this? Take good care of yourself too, ok? Laura - we planted an amalanchier (?) tree right in front of our house in AH, it must have loved the soil there because it grew WAY bigger than we ever thought it would. Problem with big trees is sometimes (as ours did) the roots reach out to whatever water source they can find and sometimes puncture (as ours did) the sewer pipe leading from the house to the street. So unfortunately while you are taking a tree out, you might be saving yourself a headache too. We had a burning bush too - pretty in the fall but lots of little leaves to pick up. Sounds like you have alot of mature trees but a few more new pieces will spruce up the place - kind of like a new haircut ;) They have those buckwheat pillows at Bed, Bath and Beyond - DH was looking at them Annie - hope the VPs breeze through and leave you alone. Sorry about Bella  - sometimes you have no other choice and I'm sure the vet will agree that you are not being selfish. I'm glad Curtis is helping you. DH had to take Boo in, it hurt both of us and I, like you would not have been able to do it. You will feel sad for a long time but know you did the right thing. Ceejay - how did your casserole turn out? Sounded good. Glad you had a nice relaxing vacation day - if you're going to burn a day off, have fun! No, we didn't opt for the dishdrawer kind of dishwasher - I could not justify the $1800 price and that was the sale price :yikes: Mel - I don't have an issue breathing but I find that I have the same gasping with the face masks - perhaps it is somewhat of a reflex reaction. So I hope TJs gets their reno work done fast. Nice of Willy to take you to the store - happy shopping. I hope you can get those ankles down quickly - no H&R PuffnSnuff with the chicks here. Shad - hope your day is going well and you are enjoying the more pleasant weather. As for lawns, our yard will be taking on a more rustic look up here. I am looking at some flowers that most importantly are not tasty to bunnies and deer. I think you will like the place. Off to get busy now - have a good day all. |
CEEJAY......YOU GOT THE CHORES DONE AND A GOOD DAY TOO.
NOT BAD FOR ONE VACATION DAY. IT'S GOOD FOR THE HEAD:beach: I NEVER HAD SUCH A PROBLEM RETAINING FLUID AS I HAVE THIS YEAR! ANY SUGGESTIONS??? LAURA.....ALL THOSE YEARS OF CIGARETTE SMOKING DID ME IN!! HOPE THE SHOULDER IS OK TODAY. THAT LAWN AND YARD ARE SURE GETTING A SPRING CLEANING! WILL LOOK SO NICE WHEN IT'S DONE. ALL THE MORE ROOM FOR YOU TO PLANT NEW STUFF!:lol3: ANNIE LOVE....WHAT CAN I SAY. JUST THAT WE LOVE YOU AND ARE SENDING AS MANY HUGS AS YOU NEED TO GET THRU THIS. WE WENT THRU THIS WITH A CAT I HAD. ALMOST KILLED MY Boyfriend & JEN BECAUSE OF JEALOUSY. IT WAS A NIGHTMARE SITUATION. I CAN REALLY UNDERSTAND HOW YOU FEEL. IN THE END IT IS BEST ALL AROUND. YOU ARE NOT A SELFISH PERSON SO GET THAT STINKIN' THINKIN' OUT OF YOUR HEAD!!!:rollpin: HAPPY..........IT'S NOT TJ'S THAT IS A MESS IT'S A PATHMARK STORE IN TOWN HERE. AND GOOD THING WE DIDN'T GO BACK THERE....THEY HAD A FIRE:flame: WTF!!!! SO WHAT DID YOU DO TO KEEP YOURSELF BUSY?? MY FEET ARE HUGE!! I HAD TO WEAR SLIPPERS TO THE STORE BOTH TIMES. PUFFED 'N' STUFFED!!!  http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__...pgroovyman.gif  WENT TO THE STORE. BOUGHT ALL RAW FOODS TO COOK. NOTHING PRE-MADE. JEN MADE DINNER TONITE. EVERYTHING WAS "NAKED" AS THEY SAY. NO SPICES OR SALT. THEY'RE LEARNING. STEAK, STEAMED RICE & VEGGIES. RICHIE WON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT EXTRA POUNDS. BUT WE MIGHT HAVE TO FATTEN JEN UP A BIT!! I "SUPERVISED" SOME STUFF FOR THE PRE-INSPECTION CLEANUP. I JUST POINTED, MADE MY SUGGESTIONS & LEFT BEFORE THE DUST BEGAN TO FLY. I KNOW WE'RE GONNA FAIL ON SOME STUFF BUT IT'S JUST TOO LATE TO FIX IT ALL BEFORE FRIDAY AT 8:30 am. TOUGH. PUT ALL THE GROCERIES AWAY AND TOMORROW I NEED TO BORROW A PAN TO MAKE A MEATLOAF IN. I GAVE EVERYTHING AWAY!!!:faint: HOPE YOU GALS ARE HAVING A GREAT NIGHT:cloud9: AND GOOD MORNING MISS SUNSHINE AT THE MiNES:sunny: |
Happy
The casserole was really good. Good luck with finding flower that the deer and bunnies don't like. The deer love roses--thorns and all. Annie So sad about HB. But you have to do what you need to do. Michelle Glad that dh is out of surgery. Sending good healing vibes his way. Mel Ouch on those swollen ankles. Prop your feet up as much as possible. Good for Willie for taking you and Jen to the grocery store. ------- Came to work this morning and we have a new mirror in the bath room. Don't know what possesed B to do this. We have an insurance meeting on the 26th. After talking to my friend/boss this morning I'm keeping my dr in Jonesboro. Infact I'm going Thursday to have my blood drawn. Need to check on the b12, thyroid and cholesterol again. |
Morning all,
Not much going on here at the moment. Life is just happening on the mine. I'm waiting for a very stressed stand in supervisor to have enough time to talk about SAP and work on the system. Yesterday was stress day for me. It was Murphy's law all day. If it could go wrong it did. I was trying to help about 5 people at once at one time. Then I found that I did not have access to assist with logons and name problems and other things that crop up with a new system and I saw a fiery tinge of red. So then I sat down at the computer and sent an e-mail rocket to the Project Manager, the head of IT, the Business Manager on the project and a range of people who might help. In short, they got told to stop making snap decisions from their high rise glass cubes overlooking the Opera House and start thinking about where the people who dig the black gold out of the ground to enable them to have their priviledged lifestyle. It seems to have worked since I am promised the access this morning. They have until 9.00am, then I will be back at them again. Annie - sorry that it did not work out for Bella. The hurt will eventually fade. Do not forbid yourself to have another pet, but ensure that if you do, it gets socialised early so you don't have the problem again. The only reason I don't have another dog is because I can't take it away with me and I am away from home more often than I am there. I wish I had a dog. But then there is Madam - who thinks she is a God. Michelle - good to hear that DH has come through the biopsy okay. Now we wait to hear what news comes from the tests. Keep smiling, keep busy, give the dogs a hug. Happy - whew $1800 for a set of drawers and no one to install them properly. DS2 would come over and put them in for you. He not only installed mine, but repaired it too. He says it is basically fairly simple. But at that price they might need gold plated handles and rotor arms. I look forward to the time when I get to see your new place. Should be interesting living among the trees. Soon, when spring is well advanced you should be seeing the baby deer coming through with their mums. Laura - Good that the pilates went well. It always helps when you like your instructor and that way that they do things. Ceejay - A new mirror!!! Hallelujah. Does it have a message on it like the one in the ladies here - You are now looking at the person responsible for your safety??? Mel - less salt and more water always works for me and then I forget and have to start the regime all over again. Food can be cooked without salt. I have done it for years. Then those who want can add the extra - me I usually only have pepper. Love the stuff. Okay, time to go over and sort out the lads again. I'll be back. Have a great sleep everyone. Attached a photo of some of the big boys toys around here. They always remind me not to step out of the safe path. Couple of weeks back a bulldozer ran over a road train. What a mess the tractor of the road train was in. No damage to the bulldozer. The truck driver has 2 badly broken legs. Makes my health grumbles seem a bit insignificant doesn't it. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...1/P1000085.jpg |
Took Bella with me to sissy's to get hair colored tonight...she and Bella had their time out on the back step...sissy cried her eyes out while telling her how much she loved her...when we left, Sis walked her out to the car and bawled her eyes out saying goodbye to her...Sis is so much like her momma...d*mn it. Of course I cried with Sis and left....CR*P I HATE BEING SO EMOTIONAL>>>I WISH I WAS A HARD A$$. Later chicklets...thank you all for supporting me....I love you

Hello Ladies,
It's only tuesday and I feel so worn out. My job has been so busy. We have a new director which is good but he's implementing lots of changes. At the same time the workload continues. I have to remind myself I'm blessed with my job etc. Annie - I'm so sorry to hear about Bella, as much as I'm a animal person, you have to put your grandbaby boy first. If anything ever happened you would be beside yourself. Mitchellez - So glad to hear hubby is settled in his room. Praying for a good answer to his illness and a easy diagnois. Shad - where are you working? I often go to the mine's and see that type of equipment. Ceejay - good luck with your Dr's appointment. I have a friend who get B12 shots and they really help. Laura - I feel your pain about the trees. I have 2 big red oaks, I love the shad but they killed my grass. Mel - elevate your feet, I hope the swelling goes down. Happy - my bd was in Nov. I think Mel knew that it had come a while back. I hope I didn't miss anyone. |

I just lost my post. Arrrgh.
Annie - I'm so sorry you have to put Hella B. down. I know how difficult this is for you, but you have to protect your grandson. Sending you love and hugs, sweet sister. I'm heading to the hospital soon. The surgeon and/or his assistant will be there to discuss discharge instructions. If all went well overnight, and if DH is doing well this morning, he could be coming home today!! I'm working from home today (when I'm not at the hospital). Well, gotta go. I'll try and do personals later. Much love and many hugs, |
Morning all.
Michelle - Hope DH had a good night and will be able to be discharged today. Mel - Happy to hear that getting out and about has raised your spirits. :) Have another good day. Yeh, the property will be cleaned out and so will the bank account!! If there's no discount for paying in cash, we're going to charge it so I can at least earn some rewards points! Patty - I get you about the job. I'm dealing with a special project that's still dragging on and my busy time is getting started now too. Quite the challenge. Hang in there - at least it's Hump Day today. :) Annie -  Very difficult, sad day for you. We're all thinking of you. Shad - Good you took the message to a wider audience - I think many things never get communicated to the right folks, or it's like the kids' telephone game - by the time it gets to the end, the message has been distorted and half of it lost. I'm not surprised that any accidents that happen with those gigantic machines can be very serious! I like that mirror's message - everyone needs reminding. Ceejay - So you're not staying with the old doctor you recently went back to? Why the change? Happy - We already have for many years now a depression in our front lawn and suspect that the sewage pipe may have already been affected by tree roots, but so far no sewer backup problems, knock wood. :crossed: I love the color of the burning bush in fall, but I've actually heard that it's a non-native species and invasive. To the garden pros that's a bad thing, of course... we'll see if it tries to come back after being removed. All I know is that it can't be nearly as bad as the quince bushes we thought we'd removed and they promptly grew back. I wonder if I should have the tree guys tear them out again while they're here today??? --- Nothing much to report. Feeling overloaded at work. This software project is still lingering, and part of it is that my focus is being pulled away by new projects. Sigh. Never a dull moment. Like Patty, I need to keep in mind that I'm fortunate to have this job. My neck and upper back are still feeling twingey - part of it is my ongoing pillow saga and part is the shoulder blade muscle pull. Really good excuse to schedule a massage - soon! I talked to my mom yesterday and I'll probably visit her in early/mid-May. Have to get going on flight arrangements. I told her to check out what's going on in her area at that time to see what she might want to do while I'm there. She told me she'd check the newspapers. I find this funny because she always complains about what a dinky paper they have there, not to mention how much more efficient it is to check such things on the internet. :D I told her to get to the library and get online!! We'll see how the tree trimming project goes today. Pilates class tonight. Ho hum. |
Quick update.....DH is home from the hospital. :yay: He's very tired and very sore, but the doctors are glad that he's recovery so well from the surgery. We should find out next week what's been causing him so many lung/breathing problems these last 5 or 6 months.

Good morning ladies,
Not much time for a decent post this morning - it's supposed to be a glorious day today. DH wants to go for an ATV ride and is pestering me asking me what I want to do. I did not plan the ride - I am asking him what are his plans and I will meet the schedule :dizzy: In any regard, I need to get cleaned up and dressed soon. Doctor / nurse forgot to listen and or care about what I told them. They changed my thyroid medication dosage so I told them to call it into the local pharmacy since this is a change in dosage to a maintenance med which I would normally be required to get in the order by mail program. I go to pick up the meds 3 days later and the pharmacy doesn't have them. Call the doctor, they have a record of calling them in but they don't know where they called them in to. (I specifically gave the pharmacy name and phone number when I talked to the nurse). 2 days later I get a call to come pick up my medication. Get there and there is not 1 but 3 medications. I take them home and lo and behold - they called in scripts for 2 of my maintenance medications also. The ones I said I did not need refills on. While this technically cost me nothing, it actually cost me over $300 against my health maintenance budget with the insurance. Money I could have used for doctors visits. And once you walk away from the pharmacy with the medications, you cannot return them. And I could not tell what they did with the billing until I got home to check the internet. Bah!!!!!!! :rollpin: Doesn't anyone pay attention anymore???? Mel I'm glad you got stocked up on clean foods. Steak with no seasonings at all? I'm glad you woke up ready to hit the ground running and tackle the day head on. The birdies are out singing in the trees today waiting on you. I told them maybe a little longer because it's rather muddy out there and your chair might have a problem. If you are going shopping in your slippers, might as well leave your jammies on too and go to Walmart. That's how the kids shop here and you'd be right in fashion! Shad - I can't imagine spending all day in the pair of boots. But then again, I can't imagine spending all day in high heels anymore either  I have seen some of those monster mining trucks - they scare me more than the logger trucks. Be careful. I hope you get the access you need to help the people you are there to help. I will keep my opinions of management to myself because I don't have enough hours in the day left to do all the complaining that I'd like to  Ceejay - I feel like I'm back in TN again - it's so warm and sunny outside - feels like a spring day out your way. A good one too. Except that it's brought the flies out. Fortunately the seed and flower catalogues indicate certain varieties that are not attractive to deer so that makes it a bit easier to choose. Except we are in zone 3 (a cold zone with a short season) which limits our vegetation choices greatly. Even though it is a beautiful 63 degrees out today, it could be back to freezing next week. Hopefully Jonesboro is not too inconvienient a drive for the doctor's office. Especially if you like the practice. Michelle - glad to hear that DH got moved out of ICU so quickly. I hope his pain has diminished too and he will be back home very quickly. Annie - sending you good thoughts today. I cried so hard when I said goodbye to Boo that I think I frightened the poor cat. Crying now too just thinking about it... Patty and Laura - sorry that work is such a hassle lately. Seems like the days of having a bit of fun on the job with the co-workers has been replaced by a frantic pace of too much work for too few people. :( Nice that you are planning a trip to see your Mom Laura. You will probably have better luck finding things to do than she will or is this a way to get her to go and use a computer? ;) Well... DH called my cousin. His wife can't go riding today and S was going to bring his buddy. I decided let the guys go riding - they will go off road and get all muddy and messy and that's not my style. DH and I can go for a more gentle ride tomorrow. Besides, who doesn't enjoy a quiet house all to themselves? Cousin let me try his ATV. It's like learning to drive all over again when you were herky jerky on the gas and brake. But a few test drives and I should be good to go - looks like it will be fun. Phone ringing ... talk to you later chicks. |
Glad DH is home now Michelle - that in itself is good news. Now if he needs to just rest well.
|
Laura
You could always go to Branson to see a show. I like to sight see also. My boss told me some things about the dr here so I'm keeping the other one just in case. And he's nearing retirement. Happy I do like a quiet house. Here lately I've been turning on the classical music tv channel. It really helps me to relax. Makes good for me to clean house also. The last couple of days have been gorgeous. To bad that I'm on the inside. Shad Wow those trucks are huge. Keep a watchful eye on the roads for those things. Patty I'm with you in the fact that I have a job. Maybe once the new managment gets things lined out things will be better. Annie  Michelle So glad to hear that dh came home today. I'm sure he'll take it easy for a while. Mel Don't over do. You sound like you are feeling a lot better. Ask the doc for some fluid med's if you need them. ------- Heard on the news last night the influenza bug is on the move in Jonesboro I'm not sure that it's a good idea to go tomorrow. The doctor's office's were full of sick people yesterday. I may decide to stay home. |
Curtis took me to lunch then for an hour walk in one of the largest parks in Indy. Now I am home, missing my Bella, and crying....tell me it will get better...please...
|
It will get better Annie - but not for a long time. As much as you loved her, unfortunately that's how much the hurt will last. You just have to believe in your heart that you did what is best for your family. I hope there is a big pile of cookies for her at the foot of the Rainbow Bridge.
