New Mother with NO MOTIVATION

Hi,

I am very new to this, I just joined today and this is my first post. All to know about me is that I am 21 years old, 232lbs, I had my son Dec 20th 2010. I also have a fiance of three years, that gives me what I want when I want, sounds good but its not because 95% of the time I always want food and sodas.

I feel very disgusted with myself and very unattractive. I have never been as big as what I am now! In my 3rd trimester I was smaller than what I am now. I do not like to be naked around my fiance, I hate for him to see my stomach, EVER! My stomach is the WORST part of my body. I have this spare tire thing under my belly button and it is so disgusting. I am in a size 20 pants 2 or 3X shirt. I have to get away from the large numbers.

I want to start today with no soda, or breads, or (my weakness) sweets. I want to start taking the alli pills and only take in 2300 calories or less daily. I also want to start excercising with the P90X videos. Lots of people say I may not be able to do it, but I have and want to stick with it. Honestly, I have no support thats why I have come here. :?:

You certainly CAN do it, when it becomes important enough to you. I hope that is now.

Can you get all of the junk out of the house? That is a good start. As for Alli, I can't really say much about that, as I know very little. But you won't need to block fat grams if your whole diet is fruit, veggies, lean meat, whole grains and a bit of dairy- the fat content will be healthy.

Do you like to cook? Have you checked out one of the calorie trackers, like My Fitness Pal or MyPlate on Livestrong.com? MyPlate is REALLY helping me.

2300 calories should be pretty easy to stick to with healthy food, but loss may be slow- MyPlate also has a calorie calculator where you enter your current weight and it suggests how much to eat. I'm eating 1500 a day, and I'm actually full most of the time because the food is full of fiber, protein and a bit of fat.

Keep talking to us!!

Hi Levi's mommy.

You had a baby directly a month after I had my son. I got motivated to join a gym in March 2011. I lost exactly 4 pounds from March to September due to the new mommy role and not working all that hard. However, I got serious in September and managed to lose around 30 pounds. I started in 223 after the baby and loss the first 25 by breast feeding, but everything else took effort. You are very much on the right track by giving up the sodas and sweets. I had a fresh baked cookie addiction that held me back. Good luck with the weight loss and the toddler.

Hi there, your motivation is your son! I started losing weight after I decided that my children need their mother to be around as long as possible. When your son starts walking you are going to need a lot of energy chasing him around. It took me awhile to get started but after I started exercising, I got more energy and went from there.

Dont let your fiance take control of what is yours and that is your health. Take ownership of what you eat. My hubby knows to ask before bringing something home. Talk to your fiance and tell him how important this is to you and your family. Good luck!

Thank you to all! I did the P90X and that is no joke! But I would like to stick with it. Has anyone had any good success with the ZUmba on Wii?

Anything that gets you moving will help with weight loss and leave you happier, healthier and more energetic. If you like the idea of dancing, do the Zumba thing. :)
