Evening Floozies!!! :cb:

Today is my Mom's birthday and we had her a little party. She was sure surprised when all of us {around 20} piled in on her. She is such a sweetheart and still so young at heart to be 70th.
But the really, really good news is....No cake for Debbie!!! :):)

I haven't been home very long and there still is tons of stuff to do to get ready for tomorrow. I'll post to everyone tomorrow.

Love you guys...DEBBIE! :dancer:

Maui Wowie 02-13-2003 02:52 AM

Good evening, Floozies!

Debbie: Big congrats to you! No cake at your mom's birthday party and you had a great time. That's all about changing the focus of social events from food to fun. It can be challenging but feels great when it happens.

Titan Card Fan Dee and Gayle: I haven't watched the Bachelorette. For some reason, Joe Millionaire caught my attention and with all the hoopla, I just wanted to find out who he picked. The morning dj's on my local radio station were so mad about Monday's episode that they are going to dedicate tomorrow's show to divulging the secrets of this Monday's show. They figure that there have to be a few listeners that have the inside scoop who will call in. I'll post what they say tomorrow, unless you don't want me to. I've also heard that the butler is rich and that they give Joe/Evan $1 million at the end of the show (so he is a millionaire after all). I think Zora is the right choice because she is more down to earth like Evan although Sarah definitely puts out...We'll see what matters most to Evan!

Donna: I'm sorry to hear all that you are going through with fertility issues. I think that whatever choice you make will be the right one. It is such a personal decision. It sounds like you and your husband are really on the same wavelength which makes all the difference. I also wanted to tell you that a child with a disability can be a blessing. My son was diagnosed with autism when he was 3-1/2 (he is now almost 10). I couldn't imagine life without him. He is a very sweet loving and happy boy. Good luck to you on this difficult period.

That's all for now...
Good Night!

Sherry 02-13-2003 08:09 AM

Mornin'

I only had time last night to start a new thread. I didn't have time to post because I was working on the kids at School "Val-A-Grams." I always help the PTO get them ready. It takes forever!! (but fun!)

Tonight is our chili dinner at School. After School today, I have to get in the kitchen and start making it. Last year we ran out of chili so this year I'm making lots more.I have another lady helping me make it. If it's not too late when I get home, I'll post again to each of you.

Donna,
If you are meant to have a baby, I believe it will happen! Most of the girls here probably remember about our PRINCIPAL at School.Ready for a shocker?! She met her hubby in a chat room on the internet, married him 6 months later and had her FIRST child 3 days BEFORE her 44th birthday!!!! They are all well and so happy!! :) Never give up hope! She never thought her life would turn out so wonderful. Good luck to you and your hubby. Also, if you never have children, please be happy and content with one another. But MIRACLES do happen!!

Gotta leave for work......have a great OP day!!
Love & Hugs,
Sherry (Sher-Bear)

LOVE YOUR COMPUTER VALENTINES SHER!!!!!!

Donna: I agree with Sher. I never wanted kids when I was younger, the good lord blessed me with two. I can't imagine life without them now, but I also know if I never had them, life would of still been great.

Titan Card Fan 02-13-2003 09:27 AM

Jeanne, I'd love to hear what the gossip is about Joe Millionaire. Who knows at this point if they are right or not? Last night's Bachelorette was as boring as Millionaire was Monday, except you knew from the beginning they weren't going to tell you anything until next week.

Well, gals, I am off and running this morning. I need to run a couple of errands and think I'm going to pick up myself one of those little park benches that I saw yesterday at Big Lots. Somehow I think it's going to take me the rest of the day you get it put together, but it is so cute. I'm going to use it down in my family room at least temporarily.

Oh, if you think kids are great, wait until you have grandchildren.

Deelite 02-13-2003 10:18 AM

Sherry will yo be my valentine? You make the best valetines!

bootwoman 02-13-2003 10:45 AM

Hi all, just checking in. Thank you for asking about the boys. So far, so good....no word yet about deployment. I talked to Ben last night. They are getting ready to go to Delta alert at his base. That is the highest there is. He is on a SAC(strategic air command) base where the nuclear warheads are stored underground. When they go to Delta, he will have to sleep at the Kennels with the K-9's. They work 24/7......on call at all times.
Dan's unit is still on standby for Korea....still just taking it one day at a time.

I'll try to post to everyone individually this afternoon. To put it bluntly, I have been a real b***h this week. I'm trying to work on my attitude, but I'm not doing a very good job! LOL

Take care everyone,
Ramona

lisavemt 02-13-2003 04:33 PM

Ohhhhhhhhhhh Ramona I had to laugh at your statement about being a B**** :censored: and having to work on your atitude! I have a little saying that goes, "You call me a B**** like it's a BAD thing!" Trust me, there's no one in this world that's all sunshine and light. If you're having a rough go of it then so be it. Things will get better.

Speaking of attitude, I was informed by the city's prosecuting attorney that I HAVE to be to court tonight at 5:00 tonight. 'Course I have to be at class at 6:00 for a test and in this class you don't dare be late! So I told him, "OK I'll be there but if you want to make your case this bad, then you best have me on the stand first thing at 5:00 and work your other cases around me. Otherwise you're up the proverbial creek without the proverbial paddle." He told he would do just that. So, see sometimes attitude works. I once got our hotel room refunded because I had complaints and took them to manager. My husband calls me the Queen of you know what's LOL!

Well I will be back in to post tomorrow. Happy V-Day to all!!!! Yay, Survivor starts tonight! I'll be taping it so I can watch it after I get home and watch ER.

Titan Card Fan 02-13-2003 05:04 PM

I'm back. What started out to just go down to Big Lots and get the park bench really ended up as an all day project. First, we stopped at Wal-mart (my bank is there) and then decided to see if they had something I might like better... bad bad move. First of all they had this super cute patio swing but that wouldn't work where I wanted it -- too tall. Remember this is for the family room. But then I found this 2 person glider. Now we're getting somewhere. However, the glider didn't have the table in the middle like the swing did. So we went to every store we could think of that might have patio furniture. I finally found one that I really liked at K's Merchandise. It didn't have the table in the middle, but they did have matching end tables. They also didn't have the cushions yet, but have promised they will be coming in soon. I'm also going to try to get glass tops for the end tables and use them as a 2-piece coffee table.

We're suppose to get freezing rain tonight. If so, you'll find me on my glider with a tall glass of, probably flavored water, or a cup of flavored coffee in front of my fireplace. Isn't retirement great?

Deelite 02-14-2003 03:36 PM

Well looks like everyone is having a busy day making cookies or bacon!

Just thought I would let you know that I reall y appreciate you all and want to wish you a very happy day.

Tonight we are going to a friends 50th birthday bash. She was at my party a couple of weeks ago. We met her and her hubby in mexico. We just live across the river from them. Great fun people. So that is how our Valentine's Day is spent but I don't mind because we have many special days we spend together. I would rather not share my special days with the whole world, so we will celebrate a different day. Strange, eh? Opps there is the canadian in me, eh?

Jennelle 02-14-2003 08:30 PM

Hey girls!

Fell off the wagon for two days, but I'm fine now. :)

Debbie - I am definitely changing grades next year, as I am converting my license to 7-12. I'm really hoping to teach at the new high school they're building right down the street from me! Sure would be nice to drive 5 minutes to work instead of 45!

Titan Card Fan 02-14-2003 10:05 PM

I hope everyone had a great Valentine's day. We didn't make any special plans thinking we were going to have an ice storm. But can you imagine that our weatherman was wrong again? Now he's saying 5-10 inches snow starting tonight and not ending until Sunday. Yuk. I am so ready for spring.

Shazzy 02-14-2003 11:20 PM

Hi!

Good evening ladies!
Just fell upon your fabulous thread and wondered if you have room for one more floozie?

I have been fighting the good fight for a very long time and have been quite successful last year losing 140lbs, however, i still have 100lbs to go, so I could do with a little help, motivation and guidance from others in THE KNOW!

I am about to turn 36 and am getting married in August, so i would really like to put a dent in this weight (currently 214) before then! Been struggling big time since Christmas, trying to regain my mojo!

Anyway, happy Valentines to you all!

Later Sharon.

:p
:p

gdeann 02-15-2003 01:09 AM

Shazzy sounds like a Floozie name, feel free to join us Sharon!!! GREAT job on the weight loss so far!!!!!! May I ask what type of plan that you follow?? I believe we all lose our motivation every once in a while, it's so hard getting back on track at times. I want to welcome you with a big ol' Floozie hug!!!!! {{{{{HUG}}}}}

Very nice day today, hubby surprised me with Roses and we had dinner out. Now I have a big box of chocolates staring at me and whispering: "eat me, eat me".....

Sher: I was gonna ask how many years for yu and Wayne. I hope you guys had a nice evening. I can understand the money issue, we go thru it all the time. Some of our best "dates" have been created using no money and alot of imagination.

Deb: Hope you guys enjoyed the wine and the bubble bath!!!! You are "one hot grandma!!"

Jennelle: We all slip, at least you only had a two day slip-up, mine can lead into a month long one!

Going on to bed, I have my painting workshop in the morning. I will let evveryone in on how it went later in the day!

ShelleyM 02-15-2003 08:27 AM

Welcome, Shazzy!!! I love the name!!! Why not go over to the bio thread and tell us all about yourself, so we can start talking about you!! You will love it here. All of them are a great bunch of wild and crazy girls!! Of course, I'm not--I'm the sanest one here!!:dizzy:

Jenelle-You have been doing great!! You have the right attitude--just pick yourself back up and start where you left off!!

I am still having eating problems. I can't seem to keep myself OP. I actually am kind of glad that I've gained these 5 lbs. Now I have a couple of pair of pants that I can wear again--they are still very loose, but I can at least wear them to work.

Tonight I am going to a dinner dance honoring my parents. I am wearing a black lace dress and black beaded shoes. Would you wear black hose or regular hose if you were wearing a black dress that comes to the calf??? I should have asked sooner, but I do need opinions from you all!! Let me know.

Titan Card Fan 02-15-2003 08:51 AM

Shelley: That's the time for sheer black hose.

bootwoman 02-15-2003 09:20 AM

I agree Shelley, definetly black sheers.

Welcome to the group Shazzy! Congrats on the terrific weightloss. You will be an inspiration to us all!!

Sherry, happy anniversary!!!!! 16 years is something to be very proud of.

Believe it or not, my husband actually got me a Valentine gift.......a gift certificate for makeup at Merle Norman.......ok, what exactly is THAT trying to tell me? Cover up that face more? LOL
I'm going to try and use it for some of their jewelry or PJ's since I don't wear Merle Norman makeup. I'm sure that sounded petty. We are just not getting along very well right now so I guess I am looking to find fault. Oh yeah, he did get me a card(which is all I ever ask for). It had a labrador retriever on the front and read "I'm one lucky dog" on the inside. How's that for romance????????? OK, I got it all out now....pity party over. He decided he needed to stay and work late so I had mexican take out and went home and ate a box of chocolates that I bought myself. I didn't go to sleep until nearly 3 a.m. and I feel totally yucky this morning. Oh well, lesson learned.

I'm waiting to hear from Dee. I'm wondering what wildly romantic thing Larry did for her yesterday.

Gotta go drink a BUNCH of water and try to wash all that salt and sugar out of my very swollen body!

Later everyone,
Ramona

p.s. Shelley....have a terrific time at the dinner dance tonight. Is it your parents' anniversary? Your dress and shoes sound lovely!!!

Jennelle 02-15-2003 11:05 AM

Shelley - so far, it's unanimous...sheer black hose.

Have fun!!! :D

Sherry 02-15-2003 11:22 AM
