I rushed home to see how Kiwi is. I hope this is a good sigh. She's at a movie or something.
I'm not going to the dance. Coughing. Not feeling all that well. I love your lists, Lush. They inspire me. Ds has a herniated muscle. The muscle pulled loose of the facia (fay-shee-ah) however it's spelled. Needs to be careful and let it heal for 2-3 months, she said. |
has no one noticed it's valengines day???

Off to bed! |
Hey all -- we're online at the same time !! -- Wanna chat?
|
No can do!
I *have* to go to bed. It's 12:26 a.m. here. Maybe you'll still all be chatting the morning??:D

Happy Valentine's Day!!
Everyone's all sick and stuff!! So sorry to hear about Lushboy's fever and Peachboy's herniated muscle (kinda limits the options for making $, doesn't it?) and Peachie's excuse for not going to the dance and Bagz' impending headache. Anything else? I have not gone to the eye doctor. They told me they would call me this morning to set up an appointment, so I waited and waited, then I got bored and went back to bed. Never heard from them. I'll call my good eye doctor on Monday.
When I logged on, Peaches, Bagz and Sugar were all still online -- wouldn't it be fun to go in the chat sometime when there are a few of us here? I haven't tried it in a long time. When there are people there, of course it's never anybody I know of course and it's one of those boring conversations:

Yeah, but you have a cute dog and a pool.
|
I do have a cute dog.

A cute dog is a good thing but I am going to be on topic.
I was reading a magazine at the doctor's office and found an article where three people were experimented upon to see what they weight would do if they ate what they wanted for a month or three months, I forget. No dieting allowed. The experiment proved that eating what you want will cause weight lose. The results: Miss 125 was down to 124 Miss 123 was down to 121 Miss 120 went to up 122 Therefore 2/3 of all people will lose weight if they don't diet. |
Whoa, Nelly!
Please note they are studying people who obviously don't have a weight problem, and therefore probably don't have any eating problems either!! As they say, Your Mileage May Vary. I agree that dieting ultimately makes you gain weight back, but "eating what you want" is a pretty vague prescription, eh? I think it works with kids, who don't have ingrained habits of eating high fat, high salt or high sugar food. I guarantee if I eat what I want, I could be a mountain. I already do eat a whole lot of what I want, but I have to stop myself, cuz I really could eat until I'm sick!
DD is going with a friend and her family for a few days' skiing. She's heading out any minute now. It will be the coldest skiing she has ever experienced. Right now, here, it's about 0° F, at the ski mountain it's much colder. Betcha they spend a lot of time in the lodge.. Later today DH and I are going to meet some friends to see a U. of M. hockey game. It looks like we are spending the night at their house too. I think I'll burn a CD as a guest-y gift. We watched the latest Austin Powers video last night. Ohmygod was that raunchy. I couldn't help but laugh though--felt like the worst parent in the world laughing at these perverted sick jokes with my sweet darling daughter in the room. Oh dear... :tape: Later Yellagators Kiwi of the mysterious and unusual colors |
I need a new mattress for ds. He has been sleeping on a bunkbed thing with a futon on bottom and mattress on top. After the futon became uncomfy, he moved to the mattress but with his hernia I don't think he should be climbing around. Do y'all think a mattress size will fit the futon thing holder? Or what?

Peaches, it is tragic that 120 went up to 122. She must feel so fat. Did you give her Letty's number?
Kiwi, My kids always want to see movies that are R or raunchy PG13. Years ago, we adopted the policy that any movie our kids wanted to see that was beyond their rating age, was fine. But they have to watch it with us. We've seen them all...short of heavy duty stuff that I would find offensive myself. When the language is bad, we all keep a count individually and see who agrees at the end. DS11 is having a boring birthday. We took him out this morning and bought him a new bmx bike, which is what he wanted. Since then, here he is...lumped on the couch. I have to go be entertaining, if he'll stay awake. BTW..I think the nephew deserves a new mattress....all of my kids do too. It is something so easy to blow off, though, isn't it? ....bye |
Make tea, not war
No time to post. Busy protesting.
I hate to say this, but we just bought the new Austin Powers DVD and watched it in English and German with both kids. They loved it. Too young to get the raunchy stuff (they don't know any bad words in English yet). I'm such a bad mom. I thought the first two movies were better. Did you know that Mike Myers and I were born on the same day in the same year? Is he my spiritual twin? I think he should share his wealth with me. Dh bought two DVD's from Ebay tonight and he is so excited. His first auction experience. I know he'll be on here every night now. This is going to seriously cut into my computer time. |
