Surprise it is me!!!!!

OK guys, I have been away long enough this time.

CJ called me tonight and said if I didn't post right now than she wouldn't come and visit me next month, so what could I do? I emailed her back and said I didn't want to post at the end of # 91 cause my post would get lost in the stampede to start # 92. So I told her to go ahead and start the new one so I could post. So here I am!

I have been unbelievable busy. I am still working for University Of Michigan doing surveys with the teenagers in Salem, Indiana, but that is winding down and I have done most of them. But I also started H & R Block last week and am back for my 6th year as receptionist. We have the same 3 girls, but we are alfully short handed as the other 2 have full times jobs as well and thankfully I don't have too many hours with Block, but I have been working my butt off almost every day, and hopefully we can dig another girl in to fill in. Than today our manager quit on us so we are without adult supervision. LOL So now I feel even more stressed about things. But I guess it is not my problem right?

Than I have had my 2 Air Force kids home on leave, but not at the same time. Alan, the one who just finished Tech School came home from Dec 5th till a few days before Christmas. He had to report to his 1st base at Vandenburg AFB in California. Than Tracy and her husband came home Dec 29th and just left a couple of days ago. We had to drive them to his parents in Springfield, Ohio to catch their plane. She is busy making wedding plans for their June wedding. They decided to get married a couple of months ago, so they wouldn't be separated, as they have been at Eglin AFB in Florida for 3 yrs. They just had a legal ceremony during their lunch in their fatigues, just the 2 of them. They are going ahead with their June 14th wedding in Ohio. Brett just got back froM Kuwait a couple of weeks ago and said it was really hot there and sand everywhere as it is all desert there. He was so happy to be home again. My other Kelly and myself gave her a wedding shower the other day and it went well. Plus I had New Years Eve over here with lots of family and than the next day had to take Trace and Brett to Michigan to see my Dad, their other grandmother and my sister in law, Chrissy and nieces, Emily and Ellen. Chrissy is doing well, is redoing her entire house, hardwood floors, painting, wallpapering and new floor and new furniture too. Wow whee it is beginning to look like House Beautiful. LOL Oh and CJ must have told you about our computer crashing, thanks to my dear husband who did something to it. It was down soooo long like a couple of months. So that is another reason you haven't heard from me too.

But I had been meaning to post lately, but have been in kind of a funk and have gained quite a bit of holiday weight, and am at 209. When I joined WW a few years ago I was almost 225 and I don't want to be there ever again. But I am back on track now and doing well so far. It is a New Year and you know what they say don't you? "Today is the 1st day of the rest of your life". So I am really trying and I am doing great so far.

Thanks to all you who have kept the group going. CJ, Judy, Sylvia, Carolyn, Sam, Sherry, and anyone else who kept this wonderful group going. We can't let this group die guys, we have been around for a long time and this group is so special to me.

I miss you guys so much and I see how things have changed!

Sam-Congratulations on your marriage and new baby girl. I am so happy for you. My gosh a Christmas day wedding. How romantic.

Sylvia-Good pick going to Curves, we have one here in Columbus and I hear that is a great place to workout. You have done so well too losing that weight like you have. Thanks so much for all the inspirational imfomation you have gotten for us. It is really motivating.

Judy-You sure are busy quilting arn't you? I wish I could do that. I just don't have the patience to do those. But I sure admire people who can do that. Glad your daughter is doing so well and that Allura is back with her and doing good too. Good for your son finishing #1 in his class, you must be one proud Mama. I know the feeling with 2 Air Force kids I feel so proud that they are serving their country.

Carolyn/Regency-So sorry you haven't been feeling well and are sometimes in pain. Must be rough on you. You are amazing though how you cope with it all and keep right on going. Doing so much good for your community too. Give a big hello to Joanna when you talk to her and tell her to stop in and see us again. We would love if she would come back. Send her our love.

Sherry-Hey there buddy? I was so happy that you posted and am too looking forward to continueing our friendship as well. You were sorely missed and I love hearing from you. I will have to pop off an email to you one of these days. Good for you too for joining Curves. I hear you when you say you are taking time out for yourself. I am starting to do that too. It seems that Mom's do everything for everyone except for themselves. So now I am taking time out for myself and will do what I want to do, when I want to do it.

CJ-Hey my friend. Thanks for the phone call tonight, it worked cause here I am. Actually like I told you I almost posted when I was at Chrissy's but went to bed instead. LOL Can't wait till you stop off to see us on your way to see your daughter in Kansas. What fun we will have. SET UP THE BUTTERSHOTS!!!!!!!! We can celebrate your belated birthday in style than eh? LOL

I am so happy that it is a New Year and I have a feeling that 2003 is going to be full of good things happening for The Thin Group. We are truely a family like some of us have said. Let's stick together and we will get where we want to be this year. I know I am really trying and this will be the year that we will all get there. With help from this wonderful group. :cb:

Love you guys, Sassy Sharon :joker:

SHARON!!!!!!!

What a great surprise! Sure have missed you! Seeing your post here almost brought a tear to my eye! Can you feel the love? LOL

Hugs, Judy

aivlys 01-11-2003 08:15 PM

It's a good thing I was sitting down! I almost passed out from shock!:joker: Welcome back Sharon!!! We sure have missed you here! I'm sure you were going through computer withdrawals...I know I did when my computer was down! Now if we could just get the rest of the girls back in here, it will be like old times again!

Judy- I like the "can you feel the love" line to Sharon .... Now I can't get the song out of my head ....Can you feel the love tonight...maybe I shouldn't sing!

CJ 01-12-2003 12:28 PM

heh heh heh! Isn't it amazing what a little "threatening" can do to get someone to post? Good job Sharon! We'll be watching for more posts soon also ... remember, no posts - no buttershots or me! hehahahahahaha

Well, we will be going over to our son's house in a little while .. my daughter-in-law wants to use my exercise glider if I wasn't using it (she knows me, eh?) to see if she likes it before buying one. Well, I have NOT been using it but was going to start using it as it would be easier on my knee than the treadmill but ... I am going to take it to her to use since she has lupis and needs it more than I do. But I told her that if she didn't like it I want it back ... I was thinking of getting my treadmill out next week - dusting it off - and trying to use it. Had to put it away when we put up our tree .. still have my tree up - taking it down today or tomorrow.

It is the 12th day of the new year and I am still staying OP and journaling! This is becomming a habit! haha - a good one for sure!

Well hope everyone is doing well ... Slyvia and Sherry with your curves - Judy with your quilting - Sharon with your WW and new tapes and viola - thanks for posting with me in the food journal and please do come and post with us here more often too.

And all you lurkers out there (I know you are there - I can see you) come on in and post!

Later....
Love, CJ

Howdy Ladies!

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend! I'm in for another "quick hello". I have yet another little something that was sent to me that I would like to share with all of you. I hope you enjoy it!

Take care!

Only One Pound

Hello, do you know me?
If you don't you should.
I'm a pound of fat,
and I'm the happiest pound of fat
that you would ever want to meet.
Want to know why?
It's because no one ever wants to lose me;
I'm Only One Pound, just a pound.
Everyone wants to lose three pounds,
five pounds or fifteen pounds,
but never only one,
so I just stick around
and happily keep you fat.
Then I add to myself ever so slyly
so that you never seem to notice it,
that is until I've grown to ten,
twenty or even more pounds in weight.
Yes, it's fun being Only One Pound of fat,
left to do as I please.
So, when you weigh in,
keep right on saying
"Oh, I only lost one pound."
(as if that were such a terrible thing!)
For you see, if you do this
you'll encourage others to keep me around
because they will think I'm not worth losing.
And I love being around you -
your arms, your legs, your chin,
your hips and every part of you.
Happy Days!! After all,
I'm Only One Pound of fat!!!

Sassy 01-13-2003 03:17 PM

I'm baaaaaaack!

Hey guys,
Here I am posting again with some happy news. I did really great this week at my WW meeting. I lost 7 lbs, which almost makes up for the 7.2 lbs I had gained after the holidays and being gone from my WW meeting for 3 weeks. So I am doing the happy dance for sure. :cb: Now I am now at 202, better than 209 and all I have to do now is aim for getting back in the 1 somethings again. I can do this!

Anyways, thanks CJ, Judy and Sylvia for the warm welcome back. I sure missed you guys so much too.

Thanks Sylvia for that cute little poem, it sure makes sense. Because every pound is important, even if one pound. They all add up in the end.

See CJ I did too post again. So Buttershots for me and you coming too. LOL See I guess my motivation tapes are paying off for me with my 7 lb loss. Now to get down to where I want to be. Good job on your staying on program and your journaling. :bravo:

Hey Judy, I sure did feel the love coming from this wonderful group and I am glad I am back too.

Today is my one day off from Block this week and had lots to do. Went to the dentist this morning and am getting 2 crowns done and they started on that. I have 2 broken teeth my back ones and decided to get them both done while I am in the chair anyways. So my mouth is just stating to come back where I can feel it. I was so hungry this monring not eating breakfast and having to go to the dentist. He numbed me really double good to do those 2 crowns so it is finally wearing off and I am going to find something to eat-FINALLY!!!! YIPPEE!

Talk to you guys later, love you, Sharon

Howdy Ladies!

I hope you are all doing well. Nothing new and exciting in the weight loss front. I haven't gone to Curves this year, my doctor told me to take it easy, and just walk for 30 minutes. My ankles have been bothering me so I just do some walking. Oh well, I can just imagine what my weigh in is going to be like. I do hope you are all hanging in there.

I've got to run and feed the dogs. I will post tomorrow!

Have a great evening.

Sylvia

*Diet Prayer*

Lord, My soul is ripped with riot
incited by my wicked diet.
"We Are What We Eat," said a wise old man!
and, Lord, if that's true, I'm a garbage can.

I want to rise on Judgment Day, that's plain!
but at my present weight, I'll need a crane.
So grant me strength, that I may not fall
into the clutches of cholesterol.

May my flesh with carrot-curls be dated,
that my soul may be poly unsaturated
And show me the light, that I may bear witness
to the President's Council on Physical Fitness.

And at oleomargarine I'll never mutter,
for the road to **** is spread with butter.
And cream is cursed; and cake is awful;
and Satan is hiding in every waffle.

Mephistopheles lurks in provolone;
the Devil is in each slice of baloney,
Beelzebub is a chocolate drop,
and Lucifer is a lollipop.

Give me this day my daily slice
but, cut it thin and toast it twice.
I beg upon my dimpled knees,
deliver me from jujubes.

And when my days of trial are done,
and my war with malted milk is won,
Let me stand with Heavenly throng,
In a shining robe--size 30 long.

I can do it Lord, If You'll show to me,
the virtues of lettuce and celery.
If You'll teach me the evil of mayonnaise,
of pasta a la milannaise
potatoes a la lyonnaise
and crisp-fried chicken from the South.

Lord, if you love me, shut my mouth.

I found this on E Diets, thought all of you would enjoy!
Hugs, Judy

Hi Ladies…..

What a new year this has already been……. I feel okay…. Had blood work done last week and on Monday I go for the check up….. the nerve damage in my feet and hands seems to be bothering me more that usual, must be the cold weather…….

We’ve had a death in our family last Friday. One of my favorite cousins has passed away, Donnie Smith. He would of have been 44 on his birthday on January 28th. He had a massive heart attack while ice fishing on Wamplers Lake. He and his brother were practicing for a fishing tournament for Sunday. He was so young…. He too was a diabetic, he was on 3 insulin shots a day…. And he had been a diabetic for about 10 years. He didn’t take care of himself to well…. he had just started to control his drinking and had quit smoking. He was married for about 20 years and had two boys, A.J. who is 16 and Cody who is 12 years old. Its just so sad. Donnie and I had a special bond. Please pray for his family.

I printed out everyone’s posts and have read them…. Boy am I behind…..

SYLVIA Thanks for keeping things going in this group, you’ve been rock steady…. And all your Dr. Phil goodies….. the Dieters prayer…. We need that…. I have copied the info and have forwarded onto the ladies here at work that were in WW with me. Maybe it will help boost us here at work. Congrats on your “Curves”…. I had never heard of them until you mentioned them here in your posts….. Now I see them popping up everywhere, there is even one in my city. I have a fully paid Fitness U.S.A. and I need to starting using it again…. Its just so difficult to make that commitment to myself…. Silly isn’t it? It truly shouldn’t be, but it is…. And I loved the 100 calories or less food list…. That too will come in handy…. You are just a wealth of information for us…….. YOU GO GIRL……. Keep up the great attitude and I can only hope its catchy…… hehe….

JUDY CONGRATS ON THE 5 POUNDS!!!!!!!!!! What a wonderful start to a new year….. keep it up girl……… I am sure the pounds will start melting off!!! Hang in there past March and each month thereafter will be fast approaching and the weight will come off too…… CONGRATS on your loss of 5 pounds.. YOU GO GIRL

CJ CONGRATS ON YOUR WIN AT THE CASINO!!!!!! Too cool….. I go to the casinos occasionally here in Detroit…. Stop off from work sometimes…. Hehe……. Its pretty cool….. I have won some lost some, probably have broke even now…. Thank you so much for the New Year wish….. very nicely said…..

SHERRY Welcome back, don’t be shy, just jump right in….. Curves with you too? Great for you…. Sylvia just loves Curves…. It’s a “good thing” that’s for sure. I know what you mean about “deep cleaning” and cobwebs…… I have cobwebs in a couple of corners that I found recently…… gonna get those this week-end….

SHARON Thanks for posting and giving us an update….. good to hear from you again…. So Chrissy is re-decorating? I don’t want those days back…. I am done for awhile anyways… its so difficult to get a project done and still have the money for it in the end…… but it is soooooo worth the effort and the money…… lots of hard work….. its just enough for me to keep mine clean now….. UGH… and congrats on the 7 pounds loss.... what a great job!!!!!

I had better close for now….. the attorneys are starting to come and I had better look busy….. I’ll be back soon… everyone take care…. And melt those pounds away……. Good luck all.

Love to all,
Carolyn

Hello Ladies!

I hope you are all having a fabulous holiday weekend. It's been kind of quiet in here!!! I really don't have anything new going on in the weight loss department! Oh well, I just hope that I'm not gaining! I have some lovely dungeaness( I probably butchered the spelling) crab cooking right now so this is a quick "hello".

I do have another little inspirational poem that I would like to share with all of you.

Have a great day!
Sylvia

Focus

Weakness comes from being too spread out. Power comes from concentration. Excellence in any pursuit requires single-minded focus. Focus, in turn, requires purpose and commitment.
If you're going to do something, then give it all your attention. By committing yourself in this way, you achieve great things. The power of single-minded focus does not just come to you. It is the result of a choice you make -- a choice to forsake all the distractions of the moment and concentrate on achieving your goal.

Focus requires that you constantly remind yourself of what's important to you, of what you are committed to achieving. With a clear, specific sense of direction, and the discipline to stay on track, your actions will be powerfully focused and effective.

Know what you want, and then choose to focus on making it happen.

Hi guys,
Hey Sylvia, Judy and Carolyn, it sure is good to have some company around here. :cp:

Guess what guys? Today I went to my WW meeting and I lost 4 pounds. So that makes 7 last week and 4 more this week, totaling 11 and I sure am doing the happy dance for sure.
All that holiday weight gone. I sure gave it my all these past 2 weeks. Now to keep it up! :df:

Sylvia-How did your crab turn out? I love crab and not bad for your diet if you don't have lots and lots of butter. But it taste SOOOO good with that butter doesn't it? Thanks so much for the words of wisdom. They were great!

Carolyn-I am so so sorry about your cousin. My heart goes out to you and especially his wife and son's too. It will be so hard the boy's losing him and at their age, it will be especially hard not to have him there to help guide them in life. I know from when my brother Rick was killed that Emily and Ellen really had a hard time with him not being there for their special moments. I can tell his presence will surely be missed in many people's lives.

Judy-Thanks so much for the cute little Dieters Prayer. It was too funny. Good job too on losing those 5 lbs. Keep it up!

Viola-Hey good to hear from you, post more often with us. I remember you from a long time ago. Join us, we love hearing from you. Hope things are going well for you.

CJ-Hey where the heck are you? Do I have to take away your buttershots to get you to post? Well maybe I will just drink it all so when you and Dick come next month there will be none for you! :p

Well better get going, beddy bye time. My peepers are closing now. :tired:

Love you all :grouphug:

Sharon

CJ 01-21-2003 09:12 AM

I'm here .. sorry for not posting - just been busy.

Sharon:

Way to go on the 11 lbs! You go girl! Hmmmm .. maybe I need to make copies of those "tapes" .. lol I'll call you soon on when we will be coming your way! Can't wait!

Judy:

Congrats to you also on your 5 lbs down! Keep it up also. Maybe next week I can have a loss .. I'm still at the same wt - I think I need a little exercise in my life!

Carolyn:

So sorry to hear about your cousin. My prayers go out to his wife and sons.

Slyvia:

Now that I have finally taken my decorations down I can pull out my treadmill and hopefully start using it - I thought about signing up for curves, but still am favoring my one bad knee so am worried it may be too strenuous for that .. besides, I don't want to spend the $$$$$$ - lol. Your crab cakes sound really good. Thanks too for all the great words of wisdom you have been posting - helps a lot!

Ok guys - I realize our group has "shrunk" a bit but we can get it going again if we all (what few of us are here) keep posting daily .. maybe we can even get some of our "lurkers" back in here too. We cannot let our group die! We will NOT let our group die!

Talk to ya soon!
Love, CJ

Sassy 01-21-2003 11:02 PM

Hi guys,
Yes I agree with Carol that even though our group has shrunk we still need to post whenever we can to support, encourage. motivate each other too. We are all friends here and we welcome anyone else who wants to join in the group. Some of us come and go, but everyone is always welcome back to the fold and I hope we see many bright new faces in 2003.

CJ-Glad you posted, miss you so much, but understand being busy cause I sure am too. We have Curves here in Columbus and it seems to be a good program from what I have heard. You can go at your own pace I would think.

For anyone who is wondering what CJ is talking about my "Tapes". I had sent for something I saw on TV called Smart Tecniques. They are a series of 12 motivational tapes and the entire program runs about 5 weeks, listening to a 30 minute tape night and alternating between the 2 sides. Than the next week I listen to a completely different tape. The spokes persons are those comediannes called "The Mommies", who used to have a series on TV. Marilyn and Caryl. The tapes are tapes to reprogram my lifelong bad habits or subconcious programs when it comes to food. They can't be used while driving a car as you have to relax and it is almost like hypnosis to me. I really love it, but it cost quite a bit of money to send for it. When I first got the tapes my husband was kind of mad and said it was a scam, but has now changed his mind because they seem to be really working. My willpower is there now as never before. :tape: I am so determined to be where I want to be now that I feel that nothing can stop me to get there. I really like them and as a matter of fact need to listen to one before I go to bed so I will get this posted. I feel really good about myself with this program and the great thing is that you can use it with any sensible weight program and I am STILL on the Weight Watchers program and with me losing 11 pounds these last 2 weeks they are just what I need. :goodvibes:

Talk to you later guys and love you's, Sassy Sharon :twirly:

CJ 01-22-2003 02:20 PM

About water .....

Importance of water, are you drinking enough?

We all know that water is important but I've never seen it written down like this before.

75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.

In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.

Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%.

One glass of water shuts down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a U-Washington study.

Lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.

A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or

Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

Are you drinking the amount of water you should every day?

(No kidding, all of the above is true.)

Hello Ladies!

I hope you are all doing well. I was weighed on Friday and I lost 3 pounds in a week(8 pounds in a month). Some how I didn't think I was going to lose anything at all.

CJ and Sharon are right, we have shrunk but we will not let this group die!! We all mean so much to each other, at least you all mean a lot to me. So much that I'm going to let you all in on a little "secret" that I've been keeping from all of you. The 8 pound weight loss has my nutritionist concerned, my doctor on the other hand isn't concerned at all. You see, I am 13 weeks pregnant!!! Yup, it's finally happened! You have all been so supportive in my "baby" quest that I felt guilty not telling you. My "official" due date is July 31, 2003. I've been pretty lucky, I haven't had any morning sickness(knock on wood) or have been very hungry. My husband on the other hand is craving Mexican food and getting the varicose veins ( I hope he's the one that feels the labor pains and not me). The only things I have been "craving" are kiwis and buckwheat pancakes(not together). I have been walking everyday ( well, weather permitting) but haven't been to Curves. I will return to Curves next week. I already spoke with the lady at Curves and she told me how to modify the routine so that it's beneficial to me and the baby. My husband and I are excited but scared at the same time.

Well ladies, I'm off for my walk. I hope you all have a fabulous evening!

Sylvia

WHOOPEE! YEA! CONGRATULATIONS!

Slyvia: I was just checking in but going to post later as I am in a hurry and on my way out the door BUT .... I want to be the 1st here to congratulate you and your hubby! CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU BOTH - am so happy for you! I know how long you have been wanting to get pregnant - just goes to show us that if you want something bad enough you will get it! Thanks for sharing with us - this is sooooo exciting! Oh yes, congrats on the 8 lbs also. Well ... will catch ya later ... once again, I am so happy about your great news!

Love, CJ

Sassy 01-25-2003 12:07 AM

Hey Sylvia!

How wonderful that you will soon have a beautiful baby. :bb:

I am soooo excited for you and your husband. Thanks so much for letting us know about your soon to be blessed event. I too feel like you do that we mean so much to each other and I am honored that you let us in early on your wonderful news.

Oh boy oh boy first Sam and now you. Man hope it is nothing in the water cause I have been drinking plenty believe me and with 4 grown kids I thought I would just let you younger girls have the babies. LOL

Keep us up on how things are going for you during this time. you are doing such a great job with your weigh and working out too. You are going to have such a healthy baby do you know that? Because I know that.

CJ-Thanks so much for the article about the water. I sure have been drinking mine lately. GLUG GLUG GLUG

Love you guys, Sassy Sharon :df:

aivlys 01-25-2003 01:31 PM

Hello Ladies!

Thank you for all of your good wishes, it means a lot to me. I'm trying to eat as healthy as possible but something just don't taste as good as they used to. I used to love asparagus....could eat it all day if it was possible .... now, I can't even look at it ( the same goes with OJ). My poor Mom is going nuts just knitting away for my sister (she's due in mid April) and now for me. Thank God she enjoys it. The weir thing about losing 8 pounds in a month while pregnant is that I thought my clothes would be baggier ....the waist is starting to get a bit "snug". Where did the 8 pounds come from? Not that I'm complaining, I'm only "allowed" to gain 15 pounds during pregnancy.

Sharon- I forgot to congratulate you on the 11 pounds you lost! Very inspirational to all of us. Join the water club sista!!! I thought I was drinking enough water before being pregnant, now my doctor tells me to double the amount!!:fr:

Carolyn(Regency)- Sorry to hear about your cousin, your family is in my prayers

CJ- You sure are one busy woman!!! But you still manage to do your journaling! You are my hero!! Thanks for the inspiring words, this group means a lot to so many people. I don't think we will ever let it die!

Well ladies, I'm off to make some breakfast.....those kiwis are screaming my name!!! If I could only figure out how to make buckwheat pancakes, I would never eat out again!!!

Have a fabulous weekend!

Sylvia - WOW!!!!! I am so happy for you, while I may not past that often I've been around for years and I know how much this baby is wanted by you and your hubby. I am very excited for you!!

And as for weight, seriously do what you can to stay active and eat well, but I think our bodies do what they want anyway. I gained about 25 the first time, about 45 the second! (I did start off lighter the second time). Josephine (no 2 dd) is now 4 months old and I've lost 36 pounds. I even breastfed Charlotte (dd1) all through this pgy and still put on heaps. But I wore tight clothes to show off my big belly and got told so many times how good I looked, whereas the first time I hid my belly (which was condiserably smaller) as I was worried about how fat I was. Ridiculous!

I'm just so excited for you! As nearly everyone here (well actually all of us who are posting lately) can attest, hvaing a baby is just incredible. 13 weeks already, won't be too long til you feel some little flutters hey?!!

Hi to everyone else too of course, but a massive CONGRATS to Sylvia!!!!

WELCOME! Desiree! We're glad to have you as a member of our group - like Sharon says, at the moment we are very small but very close ... We were a larger group at one time, but those of us that remain are like glue ... So "stick" with us kiddo - you'll like it here!

Dreamer: Glad to hear from you - glad to hear all is well - please try to post more often - we miss you when you don't. I know it's probably hard to do with being the busy mommy you are! I know - been there, done that! haha - nine times!

Slyvia: Hope you're feeling well ... still so happy about your great news!

Sharon: You can't threaten me with the buttershots cuz I'll just bring my own! -- hahahahaha I'll have to get with you on dates, but it looks like maybe the 2nd week of Feb we may be coming ... have to get our truck in for oil change and stuff before coming - and Dick is going to help our friend fix his steering on his truck just as soon as this cold spell breaks! But, we'll be there soon - cannot wait!!!!!!

Judy - Carolyn - Regency: hope all is well with all of you and hurry back and post! We miss you.

Well ... I'm going off line for a spell now - got a new computer desk yesterday and have to unhook everything and set it up .. gonna take a while. Got a nice winfall this weekend .. I won $1,090.00 on the new Winfall lottery (got 4 out of 6 numbers) and also won my girlfriends lottery game which is $1500.00 but I only won $750 cuz had to share with someone else (am not complaining - am happy camper)! So in one nite I won $1840.00!!!! How cool is that??!!

OK ... I'll check back later

Love, CJ

Hello Ladies!

Wow, this group is getting more popular! Yeehaaaww!! I knew people would come around!!:cp:

I made it to Curves today. Felt good to workout, I hadn't been in for about a month. They did manage to weigh and measure me. I lost 2 pounds from December 17th and 1 pound from my doctor appointment last Friday. I don't know, I think I'm going to stick to what my Doctor's scale says. I've been feeling good. Still not that hungry, just craving my kiwis and buckwheat pancakes. I'm trying so hard to get my veggies into my diet but they just taste bad. The only veggies I can handle are baby carrots and spinach(occasionally). Thank God for prenatal vitamins. I just want to be healthy for me and my baby. I am trying to find a water aerobics class that is close to me but haven't had any luck.

Sam- So nice to hear from you. Thank you for the good wishes. I am trying to stay active and healthy, not only for myself but for my baby. I don't know how much I'm going to gain but my doctor doesn't want me to gain more than 15 pounds. I have lost 8 pounds since I found out I was pregnant so now I don't know what to think. I'm just grateful that I don't have any morning sickness. I do appreciate you taking the time to congratulate me, I know your kids keep you quite busy. I do miss you posting!

CJ- Wow, you are one of "those" lucky people that always win $$$$. Send some luck over my way on Wednesday when I go and buy my lottery tickets!!

Sharon- I keep hearing about those "buttershots", what exactly are they? Yeah, my Mom is quite busy. Knitting is how she relaxes. She keeps trying to show me how ( I know how to make a scarf) to make little sweaters and pants but I just don't have the patience and neither does she. Oh well, I know all the stuff she's making is out of love and is worth more to me than anything I can buy.

Desiree- Welcome to our group! Like CJ and Sharon say, we are a small group but we stick like glue. These are some of the most wonderful ladies you will ever have the honor to "meet". Please continue to post, you will love it here!!

Well ladies, I'm off. Will post more tomorrow!

Sylvia

Thanks for the warm welcome. I am a feisty one, so watch out! ;)

Okay, a little about myself:

I am a 23 year old stay-at-home mom to Ethan, who was born 9-25-01. He is the joy of my life ... cheesy, but true. :p I married Robert on 12-27-01, but we have been together for 3 years this March/April.

Rob, Ethan and I all have red hair and blue eyes. :) Rob and I are the only ones in our immediate families to have red hair! How's that for strange!

I sell Tupperware on the side, but sales are pretty dead at the moment. Rob works for 7-Up and King Soopers. He is a salesman for 7-Up, and is a night stocker for Kings. The days off for him are funky, so we don't get a lot done ... let alone go out to do things together as a family. :( Mostly we just hang out at home or go out to eat. :dizzy:

I love to sing, and I want to join my church's choir so I can get back into it. I haven't sung in a choir since high school, and I really miss it. :( Other than that, I love to listen to Frank Sinatra music and wath old black and white films, especially the Brando movies. I looooooooove musicals, too. I co-mod a mommies forum online in my spare time.

I bought a scale tonight, and it confirmed that I, indeed, need to get this fat off of my body. I really hope that I can do this! My mom is joining me, too, but she will be doing the weight loss through a program with Kaiser Permanente ... and I'll be doing it with WW.

Anyway, good luck to all of you! I hope to learn more about you as I post away! :D

Hello ladies:wave:

I thought I would post something inspirational. I think I've posted it on here a couple of years ago but think it says it all!

~~ Connect To Your Goals ~~

Every action you take today will either move you closer to your chosen goal or farther away from it.
There's something you intend to achieve, and the way to achieve it is through action.
There is a very real connection between the things you do and the outcomes you experience.
Keep that in mind as you go through the day. Keep that in
mind as you decide how to spend your time. Keep that in mind as you control your own thoughts and actions.
Connect your goals to your actions and you will reach those goals.
Focus on the outcome of what you're doing, moment by moment. You can choose to just get through the day, or you can decide to make it count and to move yourself forward.
There is a road that runs from where you are right now to the
fulfillment of the goals you have chosen. As you go through this day, stay on that road.
Keep the connection strong. Take the actions which will move you ahead.

Here's another little something.....

A GOAL WILL LEAD YOU TO SUCCESS.
-----------------------------------------------
If you have correct goals,
and you keep pursuing them the best way you know how,
everything else will fall into line.
If you do the right thing right, you're going to succeed.

You are what and where you are today
because you first imagined it.
Knowing where you want to go is all you need to get there.
Just return over and over to that picture in your mind
of the place you are headed for.

The first essential ingredient of success is to know what you want.
