The Onederland Express - Hop on Here! #4

Hey gals, another new thread, since we were over 500 replies in the last one! We're a busy group! :)

Satine 01-05-2011 10:25 AM

Morning Girls ....freezing here this morning ...only like 19 degrees on my way in to work, ughhhh ...oh well - what did I expect ? It is Winter, haha
I like something about every season ...with Summer being my least favorite...I just hate to be hot ...the humidity gets absolutely horrible here at times.

Arabella - great to have you back and on track...good idea about the table eating, dh and I are horrible about eating in front of the tv ...we have horrible habits ..

Auntie G - how did dh's check go with the esophagus ( I know I probably spelled that wrong ) ?

Well yesterday I got down to one and a half cans of soda ...today just having one and tomorrow a half of one...I havent been feeling so horrible with the wdl by still having some everyday...I read online that with caffeine you cant just stop altogether or the withdrawal syptoms are way worse...said to make sure you wean off and have a little each day ...

Liz - I know ALOT of women here who have to have thier diet soda...they say it can hinder weight loss somehow but you are an example of that not being true...you do great, so keep having it !! The only reason I am stopping it is because I do the full sugar, I cant stand to drink diet...wish I could but cant get past the taste...plus I like to stay away from artificial sweetners....and I hear ya on the loose skin I really worry about that myself...I dont see anyway around it unfortunately, so hopefully I dont have too much - I know I will have it under my arms too.

Now, no spoilers on the Biggest Loser girls, I had to dvr it last night and will try and watch it tonight ....I love when it is on, keeps me more motivated for sure...

Hi to everyone else...I know I missed alot, we have been busy lately !!!

Have a great day all !!!

Carri

tschaff04 01-05-2011 11:09 AM

Ok, so we have to create a new thread whenever we hit 500 replies? Just want to make sure I keep up. lol

sept15lija- Aww, *hugs* I'm sure they will both love spending the day with their grandmas. I know my little ones LOVE time with nana.

Rtsmme4life- Thanks! It's starting off as a good day. Will be even better if I can actually work gym time in tonight. ;) I hope your day is wonderful as well.

Arabella- I have mixed feelings on BL. LOL After finding out about the scary stories the previous contestant told I get a little bummed about it now. But I still find entertainment value in it, let's face it. It is an entertaining and inspirational show. I am a bit of a BL fan for sure, I just hope it's all done in a healthy way. :) Anyway, I dvr'd mine last night and plan to watch it tonight.

Hope everyone is having a marvelous day! I cheated a bit and pulled out my scale this morning to have a quick peek. WI day isn't until Friday but I was curious. I am at 193.2. :) :) My next mini goal is 189, hoping to get there by next weeks WI.

Rtsmme4life 01-05-2011 02:17 PM

Arabella- the penne I used to eat there was almost 1500 calories,I was just shocked!!

Carri- We are freezing here too! Brrrr! :brr:

T-193.2 is awesome!! How much are you usually losing per week?

I can't believe that we are starting another thread! Guess it just shows our commitment to the group. :) :yay:
Can I also say its a great feeling to be back eating clean and getting full when I eat so much less! Dh is saying that he is getting worried by the little amount that I am eating...I have been hitting between 1250-1450 cals a day. My app says I can have up to 1470 and Dh says I should hit that everyday at least, my feeling is its like my goal to be under. I just really want to see a lose sat morning (scale has been hidden). Any suggestions/comments?

MyChoice2bfit 01-05-2011 04:39 PM

Found the new thread! So inspiring to be on a thread that is active.

I got a lunch time bike-ride in today at the gym. I rode for 30 min and went 4.8 miles. I'm walking on the indoor track tonight with my DH.

I thought BL was good last night--very inspiring!

Rtsmme4life: Isn't it amazing how you feel when you eat clean and get that sugar out of the diet? I have heard that we shouldn't eat under our calorie limit (at least consistantly) as our body thinks we are in starvation mode (silly body--if it could just see what I see in the mirror! lol) so I think your DH might be on to something. What I do is try to cycle it. One day at my limit, another day lower etc. I eat in a range actually.

tschaff04: Keep working hard so you can see that number (or lower?) at WI on Friday

Satine: I gave up soda years ago and when I did I lost 15 lb just like that! You can do it and you are right to do it a little at a time so you don't have withdrawl headaches.

sept15lija: Thanks for starting the new thread.

Rtsmme4life 01-05-2011 08:29 PM

Susie-I took your advice and ate a little more than I usually would for dinner and I'm def full lol But I am also not going to end up only with only 1200 calories like I would of. I guess I just want this fat off so bad lol

Have a great night ladies I'm off to try to relax. :)

sept15lija 01-06-2011 09:03 AM

Mel - I get worried about going too low on calories, and I don't want to go lower than I have to....just low enough that I'm still losing. If I wasn't losing I would definitely lower them though. I think you're been losing OK on the calorie level you've been on, right? Anyways I would try to stay as high as possible, while still losing. I'm glad you're feeling great though! I feel really good on my calorie level too, I'm never hungry unless it's time for an actual snack or meal, so it's working great for me!

Susie - Good for you on the bike! You're doing great with your exercise, have you noticed an energy increase? It's amazing how when you expend energy, you actually become more energetic.

Hope everybody has a great day!

Satine 01-06-2011 10:17 AM

Morning Girls, so far so good on stopping soda ...I am down to just one can a day, and last week i was having 4-5 a day ..sometimes more ...so I feel like that is going really well ...I have also cut back on my eating which is helping, this week have been eating all the bad stuff out of the house since I dont want to waste all the $$ and this weekend when I get groceries am getting all the good for me stuff to go back on the straight and narrow.

Mel - I wouldnt get near 1200 for now...I mean the way I look at it is they say you should never go below 1200 so what happens if you are consistently eating around that number and stop losing weight ? YOu have no where to go from there ...I like to stay higher until that stops working and then drop it by 25-50 like our Lose It app does for us ...

Susie - great job on the exercise ...and yeah I have already lost a couple just from cutting back on the soda - which is nice :)

Do we want to start having a set day that we all weigh in and report ? If so what day ?

Have a great day all !!!!

Carri

MyChoice2bfit 01-06-2011 12:36 PM

Hi Ladies. Tonight is my WI. I sure hope I see that scale go down!

I am finished with my exercise today. I did 25 min on the bike and then 15 min on the elliptical. My food is journaled and I am staying within my calorie range.

I'm also been practicing a little mediation. Nothing big. Just taking a couple of breaks during the day and doing 10 deep slow breaths. I KNOW that stress can play a major part in putting on weight or keeping from losing it and not just from the extra food that we might tend to eat.

Satine: Good job with the soda cut back! I would be good with a dated weigh-in report. For me a Friday Sat or a Sunday would be best as I weigh on Thursday's and that is the number I would be reporting. I can actually report it anytime, I'll just always use the last Thursday's number.

sept15lija: Yes I have noticed an increase in my energy already!

Rtsmme4life: Good for you for working in time to relax.

sept15lija 01-06-2011 02:06 PM

Susie - Good luck on your WI, I'm sure you'll do great!!

Carri - Sure, sounds good! Right now my weigh in day is Fridays (well, I weigh everyday, but my "official change my ticker day" is Friday. But I don't really care, I can do it on a different day too!

Rtsmme4life 01-06-2011 09:39 PM

Liz & Carri I will try to stay at my calories bc you're right- if I go to low and stop losing then what would I do?!

Susie- great job on the workouts!

Sat or Sunday would be good for me on the weigh in, just let me know what you all decide.

auntie g 01-06-2011 10:16 PM

Aww, too far behind again! I can't get on here at work, and the rest of the day just flies by... Anyway, I weigh in on Saturdays, can post whenever, though. I like Saturday cause whatever damage I'm PLANNING to do is always on the weekend. Then there's all week to make up for it. Though I'm still trying to make up for Christmas... Ugh!

Snow coming tomorrow- will I ever get to try my roly poly shoes? LOL!

Have a great Friday, everyone!

Satine 01-07-2011 10:17 AM

Morning All ..

Okay I lost something, I guess I didnt read about these Roly Poly shoes and what they are ...so what are they ?

I weigh in normally on Friday...but I am open to whatever day anyone wants, we could all weigh in on different days if needed just that we report them all on one same day so we can see how everyone is doing ...

More snow here today and tomorrow ...I kind of like it though ... jsut trying to get through the work day today and then have my weekend...gonna start reading the book I got for Christmas called Finally Thin by Kim Benson I think is her name...

Well have a great day everyone !!!

Carri

sept15lija 01-07-2011 10:44 AM

Carri - Let us know how that book is, I think I read something about it and I wanted to read it. It'd be good to have a review first! The shoes are those ones that tone your legs as you wear them - you have to balance a bit to wear them I think - I haven't tried them yet.

auntie g - Yeah too much snow! I need new boots too....hmm another excuse to shop!! haha

Why don't we pick Saturdays for weigh in then? Seems like most people are on that day, and then it's not a work day for most of us either so we can more easily report in? So tomorrow for our first official reporting day?

I really want to start swimming, so I'm going to go bathing suit shopping soon - need to find something to cover up some problem areas, that's for sure! I have loose skin on my upper thighs that's not so pretty....I wonder what I could get, maybe a skirted bottom or something. I just love swimming and want to do that for some exercise. Anyhow hope everybody has a great Friday, my first work week flew by, so far so good I guess!

Arabella 01-07-2011 12:27 PM

Friday!

I bit the bullet, weighed in and updated my ticker this a.m. But I'll be more than happy to update it again if the scale is kinder tomorrow. :s:

As of now, I'm up five from my lowest fall weight and one lower than my highest fall weight. About the same as my first WI last year. Bah.

Liz, I was just looking at your tracker -- holy smokes! You've just rocketed down the scale. Seems like no time at all ago you were just crossing the border of Onederland.

Auntie g, I'd try the shoes around the house for a while. They really do feel pretty peculiar when you first head out to walk in them outside. But you get used to it. I hope you like them -- would hate to have led you astray in my roly poly shoes...

Carri, let us know what that book's like. I usually find diet books pretty inspiring -- always seems to be something worthwhile in them.

Mel, 1500 calories just in the penne? That's like a day's worth! I remember feeling like it was always okay to eat everything on my plate because SOMEBODY decided it was a reasonably-sized meal.

T, yeah, I remember hearing about the guy dehydrating himself so badly that he was peeing blood. They really need to ensure that those people don't risk their health. The show should have a strict policy of kicking people off for things like that. Ok, now I'm going to go watch another few mins. of the show...

Susie, it's in my plan to meditate daily but I haven't managed yet. Maybe today. I'm so cranky I can hardly stand myself. :yoga: B-r-e-a-t-h-e...

And with that, I wish you all a lovely Friday!

MyChoice2bfit 01-07-2011 01:26 PM

I was so excited last night--I had a 5 lb loss and I feel so good!
I used to be in the habit that after I had my meeting I would then "cheat" that night and then maybe again on Friday. NOT happing this time!!

I'm swammped at work working against a deadline and took a small break (i had to think of something else for a few minutes) so that I could get some food and not look later for candy or chips so I'll do personals later.

Rtsmme4life 01-07-2011 01:43 PM

Happy friday everyone! I was so busy yesterday I only ended up with 900 calories :( But today will be better! We went to a few shelters yesterday bc Dh has decided that we should get a dog. I am allergic so I told him I want either a female bichon frise or female yorkie (since I don't have a girl and can dress it up lol). I have this anxiety whenever a dog is in the house so I don't know how I will handle it. I am always scared they will poop, pee or tear something up. I guess it's bc I have never really had a dog and keep everything so clean and organized here.

Liz- Do you think it was worth getting the puppy and was it hard at first?

Saturday weigh in sounds good since it's my normal weigh in day anyways. :)

Hope everyone has a great day!

Sorry for the fly by post but I am on my iPod.

tschaff04 01-07-2011 02:38 PM

Happy Friday everyone! Hope it's going well for you all. Today was WI day for me and I lost 2.8 pounds. So that was a good start to my day. But then we went to town and everyone got hungry. Somehow we ended up at Gold Star and I really didn't want to eat bad but there aren't many good choices at that place and I gave in. I got a 5 way and ate most of it. When I got home it was the moment of truth. I calculated the points and about died when I saw 19!! 19 flipping points for one small bowl of noodles, chili and cheese. AHHHH! So the rest of the day I am on strict mode. Spaghetti squash it is for dinner. lol

auntie g 01-07-2011 04:24 PM

Hi all! Today's been a little better day, mentally- it's been a really hard week. Remember I was putting off having a breakdown over DH's layoff til after Christmas? Well, this was the week for it! Crikey! I've been a mess, and what do I think is the cure? Chocolate, of course! Guess I never quite learn that lesson... Anyway, since it's Friday and nothing much can be done about the situation over the weekend, I'm trying really hard to get a grip. Tomorrow's WI will be unpleasant, to say the least, but it's OK, cause I'm back on track NOW!

Carri, remember Arabella got the roundy bottom shoes a while back? (Were they sandals, though? Maybe?) I got the roundy bottom sneakers for Christmas, but haven't been able to get going in them for one reason or the other, but mostly because of the snow! (I like to make up words... LOL!)

Liz, oh, bathing suit shopping? Swimming's great, but bathing suit shopping takes some fun out of it! LOL! And in the middle of winter - ugh! I hope I'm less alarmed about it by May, when the pools open around here. And this has nothing to do with anything, but it just struck me funny- today at work, I got a phone call from a woman in Ontario, and through the whole conversation, I just kept wondering if she knew you! Stupid, I know, I'm sure Ontario is big. LOL!

Arabella, I think we may be in the same ballpark again, weight-wise. What do you say we get this thing DONE this time around?! And I shall take your advice about the shoes. I normally don't wear shoes in the house at all, but maybe I can make allowance for these, since they haven't been used outside yet.

OK, must get to the grocery store before dark, the roads will be freezing up soon from today's snow mess! Have a good night, everyone!

auntie g 01-08-2011 08:04 AM

Happy Saturday! Once again I've been foiled by not seeing there was another page of posts, so... didn't mean to neglect those on this page!

Susie, HURRAY for a 5lb loss! It's so good to feel good, isn't it? Keep up the good work!

Mel, my friend who's allergic to dogs, has a Whippet. She doesn't have any allergy trouble with her, but that dog is a RUNNER! And yeah, if you have a dog in the house, stuff is gonna get messed up! It's definitely worth it in the long run, but puppyhood is hard. I think as long as you know what to expect, it's easier to deal with.

T, YAY for another -2.8! Don't worry about your one bad meal- it's about what we do repeatedly that's the problem. You're doing great!

OK, so, official WI... I'm up 4.5 from the holidays, but that's not nearly as much as I thought it would be, so I guess I should be happy about that. Ticker's updated, painful as that is. Onward and downward!

Have a great weekend, girls!

sept15lija 01-08-2011 08:41 AM

Yes, I would agree, puppyhood is hard!! And it's been a challenge for me too, in terms of organization and cleanliness...the house training period was a challenge (and hence my major steam cleaning of the whole house, she's finally completely trained with no accidents!!). And lots of things have been chewed, no question. Mostly kids toys I'm not too worried about, but still. Anyhow as long as you can deal with some chaos for a while, puppies are great and I think well worth it. But if the idea of chaos is too alarming, perhaps an adult dog that's already trained might be a great idea. A puppy with two little kids has been harder than I thought it would be, to be honest. I don't think I'd recommend it to very many people. But now it's getting better, and I'm happy we did it, but even still I have moments where I am like "WTF was I thinking???" :) At this very moment though I am watching her play with Jacob in the backyard in the snow, and they're having a great time, so it's all good!! haha

Susie - Congrats on the awesome weigh in!! And for making a great choice afterwards too!

T - How was the spaghetti squash? I am determined to try that - I've never had it. I have one in my fridge right now, I am going to cook it tonight!

auntie g - YAY for onwards and downwards!! :)

OK so I did weigh in yesterday, but I'll weigh in today too - I'm at 154.8 which is down 2.8 from last Saturday. I'll go and update my ticker now! Hope everybody has a great Saturday.

Arabella 01-08-2011 10:03 AM

Saturday

Well, the weight stands according to ticker. I definitely could have done more damage over Christmas than I did and could have left it longer to weigh in, which could have led to a big gain. So all in all -- ONWARD! Looking for a couple pounds off by next Friday.

Auntie g, the mental state makes all the difference, doesn't it. I was miserable all day yesterday but cheerful again today. I did start with the sandals and they made my feet so happy that I got another pair, then moved on to the walking shoes and then the runners. They work for me, for sure. I might just get myself a pair of the boots if they go on sale... Oooh... just looked at the site and saw boots and non-athletic type leather shoes. They're not the most gorgeous but they're SO comfortable and I also like that they add a little height. I get sick of having to wear flat shoes all the time.

Liz, oh yeah -- puppies! Really, almost like having another baby but they do at least grow up faster. And they're so sweet and dogs are such wonderful animals, at least when they're raised well. I don't think there's an animal in the world that loves as purely as a dog does. Congrats on the 2.8 -- you are a machine, Woman!

T, congrats on the 2.8! Popular number, huh. :) And, if you're going to have a splurge, after weigh-in's the time to do it.

SUZIE!!! Five big ones gone is awesome. AND you've broken through into the 200s -- that's a big landmark! Sometimes it's hard to get across those borders but there you are. :woohoo:

Carri

K, have a fabulous weekend, Lovelies!

Rtsmme4life 01-08-2011 11:33 AM

One big milestone behind me!!

Good morning ladies....and a good morning it is!!! I weighed in at 194.6! Holy moly! I had to do a triple take lol So that is a 3.4 lb loss, I guess it shows the strict diet with NO fast food really worked for me...at least this week.lol I also weigh less then I did when I met DH ( though it was proportioned differently on my body lol). We are going to the flea market to see if they have any yorkies bc our search isn't going to good.

T- don't worry about one bad meal bc its behind you! And yay for 2.8 lbs lost!

Susie-Congrats on 5 lbs!! That is awesome!

Auntie- Hope you didn't get snowed in. It's a new year and a new start!

Liz-Congrats on the loss, you will be in the 140's in no time! Thanks for the advice about the dog. I am still on the fence but I am hoping since I want such a little dog it will be a little better (crosses fingers).

Arabella- You will be back down in no time!

Hi Carri hope you are having a great weekend and enjoying this snow!Lol

Going to take the kids out in the snow later so this should be fun!

sept15lija 01-08-2011 03:15 PM

Yeah Mel you're right, a german shepherd can definitely do more damage than a yorkie!! haha Good luck on your search!

MyChoice2bfit 01-08-2011 11:18 PM

Hi. I have had a busy day. Cleaning my house, paying bills, (ugh!) getting together the grocery list for the week so DH could go to the store (so thankful he does this for me!) I also had to do some work tonight at home. I was in the office last night until 7;00 p.m. and I just put in another 2.5 hrs. The OT will be nice in the paycheck.

I need to catch my food journal up for the day but I've been keeping track in my head and I'm pretty sure I'm in my calorie range. No exercise--the housecleaning will have to count for it.

I hope to be able to post tomorrow. I have church in the morning and I have two more rooms to clean in the afternoon. We also had a friend who's mother passed away so we have the viewing tomorrow night too. It's going to be a busy day but I just made up my mind after I wrote that all out that I WILL be here to post--that is the one thing I am doing for me..to keep me on track with my goals/desires.

Rtsmme4life: Congratulations on hitting that number! How did things turn out at the flea market?

Arabella: Thanks for reminding me that breaking into the 200's is something to be celebrated.

sept15lija: Congrats on the 2.8 lb loss.

auntie g: As you said, onward and upward--but let's make the DOWNward. I KNOW you can do it.

tschaff04: Congrats on the 2.8 lbs. I LOVE Gold Star (and Skyline for that matter) but you have made me see it in a different light. I do know they have a kids size..wonder how many points/calories that is? and would it keep one full?

tschaff04 01-08-2011 11:29 PM

Auntie G, Arabella, Rtsmme4life- Thank you all for the encouraging words. I am hoping it doesn't do much damage come weigh in next Friday. I had an hour at the gym today to make up for it so I do feel better.

sept15lija- I don't know if you made the squash yet or not but I LOOOOOVE spaghetti squash. It is so versatile and NO POINTS(for those not on WW it is still super low in cals.) It is a great substitution for pasta. I make it all kinds of ways. Mmm

mychoice2bfit- I haven't gotten the kids portion before but I really doubt it would fill you for long enough for the amount of cals/fat/carbs in it. It's not a very filling meal at all. I had the 5 way and a few hours later was hungry again. Sure, that would be fine if it hadn't been a 19 point meal!! lol

How's everyone doing today!? I got to go to the gym today and I swear I always feel amazing after a good hour at the gym.

Has anyone every tried juiced beets? I have never tried a beet period but I have heard on here a few times that beet juice gives you lots of energy and suppresses your appetite(similar to what caffeine does). So I bought some today just to try it out. Hopefully it doesn't taste awful. lol

MyChoice2bfit 01-09-2011 12:52 PM

Hi. I hope everyone is having a good Sunday. Just got home from church; making Progesso Veggie and Noddle soup. I know that we will stop at a restuarant to eat after we go to the funeral home tonight and in order to stay in my calorie range I am having the soup for lunch--I'll pick something healthy for dinner but with restuarant food it is always higher in calories than you think.

tschaff04: Glad you made it to the gym and was able to get a hour workout in. I agree..after I work out I feel amazing! I've never heard of those beets but I eat beets a lot...by themself, in salads etc.

I'll see everyone tomorrow.

Rtsmme4life 01-09-2011 06:02 PM

Hey everyone. The dog thing just didn't work out and I realized I am just not ready to take care of a dog, house and 2 busy boys. Dh is upset but since I would be the main one taking care of her he will have to just try to understand.

Cody woke up with a high temp and horrible cough, ibuprofen brought it down for awhile but its back up again. Probably no school for him tmw which sucks bc he has never missed a day :( I just want my boy to feel better!

Once again the weekend went by to fast!

Arabella 01-10-2011 08:54 AM

Back to the salt mines. Hi-ho, hi-ho. Actually, I'm sitting here with a steaming :coffee2: posting before I settle in to work, so it could be worse. ;)

I was crabby/depressed all last week but I pulled myself out of it yesterday, got a few things done that needed doing and felt okay by the afternoon. Sometimes I just need to give myself a push.

Mel, congrats on the nice loss! You're probably wise to decide against a dog at this point. I always say you might as well just have another baby. Hope the boy feels better soon!

Suzie, sounds like you were super-productive over the weekend. I didn't get much done on Saturday but then on Sunday I went into semi-dynamo mode.

T, I hadn't heard that about beets. I like them but don't cook them often. I'd love to have a juicer, though. In theory, I'd start each day with a glass of veggie juice that would give me super powers.

Liz, is it a Yorkie you've got? They can all do some damage, of course. My cats have even done a surprising amount when left alone overnight. Years ago when DH and I were dating I came home to find the curtains down, furniture clawed and poop in my shoe. They were obviously displeased.

And on that note, guess I'll go get some actual work done.

Satine 01-10-2011 10:29 AM

Morning Girls - had a nice relaxing weekend...but woke up real early this morning with severe stomach cramps and was on the toilet most of the morning, sorry TMI ....I am hoping it was the Armor chili with beans I had last night for dinner and not a bug that is going around here, fingers crossed !!! Almost called in to work today over it, glad I didnt since two others did.
We are supposed to get more snow today and tomorrow, they say about 3-5 inches when it is all said and done, so that should be lovely - I dont mind when I dont have to get out in it, but thru the work week it makes it difficult.

Liz - great to hear your first week back to work went well and fast ....yeah I have heard about those shoes now that you tell me what they are, I have thought about getting some but have heard mixed reviews...I know my mother in law got some but has yet to wear them, I guess she wants her butt lifted at 65 years of age, haha ...

Arabella - me too, I have been in a funk lately....guess it is because of the whole eating crappy and trying to get back on board with it all, plus the Winter gets me down after a while...hope we both get back to our spunky selves soon, haha

Mel - I totally understand about the dog, it is a huge job, like having another kid or person in the house to take care of - so dont feel bad...hope your son gets to feeling better asap !! GREAT job on the loss - you are back on it Girlie !!!!

T - no I dont usually ever have beets, dont like them ....the only time I ever buy them is in the can so dh can have the juice to pickle eggs in...yeah he is odd ...

My choice - sorry to hear about your friends mom...hope you had a good Sunday after. CONGRATS on your 5pds down, great job !!!!!

Auntie G - Hi ya, dont feel bad about the gain, I have gained like 10 over the holidays...it happens, we move on ...we can do this in 2011 !!!!

Yeah, I could go for a Saturday weigh in for all of us if that is what everybody wants ...well back to work, have a great day Girls.

Carri

Rtsmme4life 01-10-2011 10:45 AM

Arabella-Glad you are starting to feel better :)

Carri-Hope your belly gets better! I am over winter already!

Cody is doing a little better today, his fever is down but this cough is awful! Hope everyone has a great Monday!

MyChoice2bfit 01-10-2011 10:04 PM

I didn't get my workout in today. I didn't take my stuff to work, thinking I would just go with DH to the Y when we got home from work tonight but I ended up working until 6:15 and then have a 45-hr commute home.

I've got my workout bag packed tomorrow for a lunch time workout. We are expecting 3-5 inches of snow tomorrow and Wednesday. I know if that is the case I won't want to go back out to the Y after I get home.

I also had a small slip and had a rootbeer when I got home from work--I did it as a reaction to feeling pressure at work. With year-end we have a lot of reports to run and information to clean up. I'm new in my role and having to figure a lot out as I go--that is why I have been working late and feeling a bit pressured. I will say that even if I had the rootbeer I did get past wanting to go get a pepsi and some M&M's around 3:30. That's a NSV!

Rtsmme4life: I'm glad your little one is starting to feel better. Sounds like you made the right decision for you concerning the dog.

Satine: I hope you get to feeling better. Sounds like we are going to get the same weather and I understand how inter can get you down. Usually by the beginning of March if it isn't warming up I find I need to go to the tanning bed for some light therapy. It is hard to not eat crappy but just remember warm weather is coming and we want to look good in our summer clothes.

Auntie G: Do you have your roly poly shoes on? Hope you are doing well!

Arabella: Sounds like you got a bit of energy on Sunday--good for you!

I'm headed to bed; I'll need to get up a little earlier tomorrow morning since the snow will add time to my commute.

auntie g 01-11-2011 06:21 AM

Good morning, girls! Can't seem to shake the funk yet this week (and no roly poly shoes yet, Susie!). I thought I was doing better, but the reality of our financial situation keeps knocking me back down and I just can't get it together.

The snow's heading here, too- supposed to start this evening, and I'm expecting a day off tomorrow because of it. Hoping to work on my mental state today and get a shoveling workout tomorrow to get my butt in gear!

Have a great day, everyone!

Funky

And now I just deleted my whole post trying to get used to this computer. Bah! I lost my energy yesterday after lunch and had a little binge mid-afternoon. Those of us who are miserable have a lot of company, at least. I keep hearing from women all over the place who say they've been down for quite a while now.

Did my :trampo: this morning and then a little :yoga: I've been getting at least 10k steps every day since Christmas. Just gotta keep going, keep doing and eventually I'll rise up out of the swamp.

Auntie g, I really have nothing to be miserable about -- and yet, somehow, I manage :dz: Sometimes I think there's just something in the atmosphere. I'm with you on that working on the mental state thing. Let's try to do something special for ourselves today.

Susie, I'm very impressed that when the stress got to you a single root beer was the extent of it. Kudos! I predict great things for you on the scale again this week.

Mel, glad your boy is on the mend!

Carri, you're right -- this year we do it! Aren't we going to be FABULOUS by the time the holidays roll around again?

K, I'm outta here before I delete another one. Let's make this one work for us!

Spooky 01-11-2011 08:29 AM

Can I join this thread? I can't wait to get to Onederland but I'm still really far away!

sept15lija 01-11-2011 08:30 AM

auntie g - Hugs, you've been dealt a hard blow, that's really difficult to deal with. I don't wonder why you're in a bit of a funk - I would be too, as would most all of us! Hope things look up VERY soon for you guys!

Susie - I feel a little like you, although I'm not in a new job I'm back after a year off and it's like you're starting all over again in a way - lots of pressure and new things to learn and it can be very stressful! Good for you for being so committed to working out! Hope the snow isn't too bad for your commute today.

Mel - Glad to hear Cody is doing better, Jacob is down with something and we're keeping him home from preschool today. Hope he's better by Thursday, that's his 3rd birthday!! :) We're having his party Saturday so we're trying to get ready - we're just having mostly family and a few of his litle buddies. Sorry to hear about the dog but it probably is for the best, it is a lot to take on in addition to what you've got already!

Carri - Hope you're feeling better!

Arabella - No it was Mel that was looking at possibly getting a yorkie, but I've got a german shepherd puppy, she's 5 months now. She's a sweetie but very rambunctious as you might expect! Glad you're feeling better - I get in those moods too and sometimes you're right; you just need to push through them.

Anyhow ladies, I should probably get some actual work done - but hope everybody has a great day!!

ETA: Spooky, we must have posted at about the same time!! Of course you can join and welcome! As you can see, I'm in onederland but these ladies are so awesome I refuse to leave. ;)

MyChoice2bfit 01-11-2011 01:27 PM

GREAT lunch time workout. I biked for 25 min and did the elliptical for 15 min. Don't you wish that post-workout feeling could stay with you 24/7!?

I'm taking a mini break from work and having my lunch. I brought a PBJ sandwich, asparagus and grilled apples.

The commute wasn't bad this morning. It had really just started snowing at the beginning of the commute. It's been coming down all day but it is coming down light and easy, I have heard that the roads are in pretty good shape, the salt/snow trucks can keep up with it. I hope to go to the Y tonight with DH for a 30 min walk and then come home and watch BL.

How many of you use a Ipod or MP3 player when you work out? What songs do you have on your play list that really get you going? I'm always looking for suggestions and I forget how many great old and new songs are out there. I just thought it would be fun to share some of that info. :D

sept15lija: hope you are having a great day!

Spooky: Welcome! I am new to the group but I have found these ladies to be WONDERFUL.

Arabella: Sounds like you started your day right! Good job.

auntie g: Finances can get a person down really quick! I have delt with some of that myself.

I lost my job 4 years ago, got a new one in about 3 months, then the business where my DH worked burnt down. They found a new place but were sold to another company in year, that company kept everyone for 6 months then let them go. My DH found another job in about 6 weeks, he has been there about 2 years and in October they asked them to take pay cuts. Meanwhile the job I found after I lost the job 4 years ago, sold my division to another company, who after 5 months decided to shut our location down, but luckly I was only off work for a month and then got hired back into a new postion by the company that had sold my other division.

During all of that, when I was down and worried, someone told me that overeating wouldn't change it so try to find something else to do that could. I thought that was blunt but they were so right and so when I feel a little bummed and try to comfort myself with food I try to remind myself of that. to you..I hope it gets better for you soon.

I better get back to work..I want to leave on time tonight!

Hey gals!

We're pretty much snowed under today! Poor DH was out shoveling at 6am, before going to work. It's pretty from the view out my home office window, though! ;) I feel bad for everyone that has to commute, though.

Can I just share that I am feeling really happy about where I am? Originally when I joined back up (AGAIN), I had a goal to be in the non-obese range by the time my kid's birthdays rolled around. Here I am, Jacob's birthday tomorrow, and Katie's in two weeks, and I am 10 pounds away from being in the normal range. I never thought I'd be here at this point and I'm so happy. Anyhow I'm sorry, just feeling happy about that today! Hope everybody has a wonderful day!

Satine 01-12-2011 10:20 AM

Morning ladies, still not feeling well, had yesterday off due to a bad diet/caffiene wdl headache, so just feeling down about that ( and still feeling some headache today ) and it is making me wanna eat and drink soda to feel better, but then I know I would be starting back all over again ...ugghhhh, I hate getting back into eating right the first week ....so hard to get through feeling like this :(

Auntie G - it is very understandable that you are having a hard time getting back into the groove with your current situation ...I hope your dh finds a job asap !!!!

LIz - yes you CAN say all that, because you have accomplished SO much and you should be so excited, I know I would feel like a million bucks at your weight. :carrot:

My Choice - is it Susie ? Yes we got another big round of snow and the drive in today was HORRIBLE...supposed to get more ...probably another reason I am down, haha ...good job on your exercising

Welcome Spooky !

Hi to Mel and Arabella ....

Hope you all have a good day, please push me to keep going in this path even though I feel bad right now...I need the encouragement.

See ya,
Carri

sept15lija 01-12-2011 10:32 AM
