Two good days down

And UP a pound? That's just not right. Anyway, I know it'll go down again. I was down earlier in the week but my one-day slide seems to be haunting me. Onward!

I'm gearing myself up to try hot yoga next week. They have a special on for a month of unlimited classes as an introduction. It sounds like it does everything but wash windows. I'm thinking it would be interesting to try to hit a class every day and see what a month of that did.

Carri, some of the stories those people had on BL were really tragic. I usually lose weight if there's anything extreme going on -- it's this mid-level everyday stress that kills my diet mojo.

Liz, I've seen those muffins. I'm wheat-sensitive so I haven't tried them. Prolly all for the best -- I'm apt to eat the whole pack. :dz:

Auntie g, I always think they could cut the show by half if they just skipped all the hype and "suspense." That stupid scale on its own probably adds a half-hour!

Mel, do you need equipment for the 30DS? And how long is the workout? It's nice to have a DVD so you can do it whenever.

We walked even earlier this morning -- woke up at about 4 and headed out for an hour-long walk at 5:15. It was gorgeous -- so quiet, and the full moon shining on the harbour was beautiful. There was a little fox on the boardwalk, pretty tame -- just sat there about three feet away from us.

Let's make this a good one!

Morning Girls ....another good day yesterday, the scales seem to be stuck right now which is kind of frustrating to me but oh well I keep chugging along and hopefully it will catch up next week.

Arabella - hot yoga huh? My friend used to teach a class of this a while ago and always asked me to come down and try it...I never would...I hate being hot when exercising in a room with a/c let alone a very hot room ...haha ...heat is not my friend...but alot of people really like it so you might too. I have never even tried regular yoga, even though I hear it is great for the body.

Auntie G - still chocolate free? haha ...

Mel - thanks, I think I will have alot of fun at the festival if I can stay away from all the fried foods.

Hi Liz !! I always see those vita muffins and think I should try them, they look SO good in the pics...

Okay, well hope you all have a great weekend !!!! I know I will, the weather is going to be great here, low 70's ...nice and cool, just the way I like it.

Later,
Carri

Rtsmme4life 09-24-2010 03:16 PM

Arabella- All you need is 2 hand weights (whatever size you like) and a mat if your not doing it on carpet. It's only a 20 min video but its like 3 min cycles of diff types of workouts (cardio, strength and abs).

Carri-I'm sure the scale will move soon!

I have been putting down new floors in my kitchen,2 hours yesterday and started at 11am today. I am worn out and I'm not even done yet! It wasn't bad until I got to the fridge and oven :stars:. I am proud though because I have done it all on my own. DH will be home soon to help with the last few pieces then its on to repainting base boards and putting everything back! I hope to have everything done this weekend between the bday parties we have to go to.I hope everyone has a great weekend...I'll update on my weigh in tmw :)

sept15lija 09-24-2010 10:27 PM

Arabella - Wow that is an early walk! I bet it was beautiful though, cool to see a fox!

Carri - Yup, keep going and the scale will have no choice but to go in the direction you would like!

Mel - Wow, what a do it yourselfer!! I love doing home renos, it's so satisfying to see the results, but so much work in the meantime! WHEW!

Well, we got a dog. I mentioned a long time ago we lost our shepherd cross a little over a year ago now, and lately I've been wanting a dog so badly...so we did some research and found a breeder with some puppies, and took one home! She's a german shepherd, we're naming her Harley - 9 weeks old. I am in LOVE! :) I think we're a little crazy with the two little kids and now a puppy, but hey we'll figure it out, right?? ;)

auntie g 09-24-2010 10:53 PM

Hey all! I'm hanging in, taking care of business, blah, blah, blah...

Mel, what kind of floor did you put in? I've never done a floor, but I've thought about it- either the stick on tiles or the snap in wood. It's so exciting to do get something done yourself, isn't it?

Carri, keep on plugging away! That scale will cooperate eventually! I'm still chocolate free, and glad your Suzie Qs are safe! LOL! Did your cool weather kick in? I had to put on the AC in the bedroom for tonight. I am not amused...

Liz, oooh, those Vita Muffins are delicious! I haven't had them in a while, but they sure did hit the spot in a chocolate emergency when I was buying them. Thanks for the reminder! And congrats on your new addition! Yeah, that sounds like a lot of work dealing with a puppy and little kiddos, but a lot of great photo ops come along with it! Good luck!

Arabella, I have to agree with Carri on the hot yoga- I don't want to be hotter than I have to be- LOL! But I guess if you can take the heat, it's probably very stimulating! And if you can tough it out for a month, you should definitely get results! Go get 'em!

OK, I still haven't gotten through more than the first hour of Biggest Loser. I don't know what I was thinking! I'll never be able to fit that in during the week. Hopefully I can finish watching it before the next episode. It's made me cry a few times already. I've only "met" a few players, but I may have already found the one I'll be rooting for. Guess I should wait til I finish the episode, though...

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Arabella 09-25-2010 07:36 AM

Happy Saturday, Wimmin!
All goes well here -- trying to decide between running in the rain and jumping on the :trampo: inside. Have to decide PDQ though because otherwise DH will be back and I'll have to go outside no matter how hard it's raining ;)

Carri, it'll be interesting to see how the hot yoga goes. I hate being hot and sweaty, especially in public -- but I guess everyone else will be hot and sweaty too, so maybe I'll be able to get my head around the concept.

Mel, that sounds like my kind of video -- I love the "wham-bam-thank-you-ma'am" type ;) I'm guessing it sort-of keeps your heart rate up throughout?

Liz, congrats on the puppy! We've got one cat and I'm hankering for a fluffy neutered male cat (they're just my favorites). We live on a busy street, though, so it would have to stay inside. So I'm wondering about training them to use the toilet :chin:

Auntie g, we don't get a lot of hot weather here so we don't get quite as sick of it as people who do. The trade off is that we have longer winters. And it always seems to go from too hot to too cold -- why can't it linger on "just right"?

Okay -- I've gotten to that time where I'd better do something if I'm going to. Let's make this a good one!

Rtsmme4life 09-25-2010 11:56 AM

Well ladies I am super bummed right now. I weighed today and I GAINED 1 pound! I am so confused bc I stayed 200-300 under my calories all week. All I can think is that I am either holding water bc I am sore from doing the floor or bc I ate a little chinese last night ( I got steamed chicken and veggies but ate a little beef & broccoli and rice). But being back at 209.6 is really bringing my spirits down bc I will never get to 202 for Halloween at this rate. I refuse to move my ticker for one pound so I will try to get it off this weekend.

I put down some pergo snap together wood flooring. It looks really good and I'm just so glad its done!!

Congrats on the puppy Liz!

auntie g 09-25-2010 12:53 PM

Arabella, the older I get, the more convinced I am that I need to move north! I just can't stand the heat, so a little longer winter would probably be good. Though I'd rather have a longer spring and fall, I'll take cold over hot almost any time!

Mel, don't get discouraged! It could be water retention, but if you didn't get ENOUGH calories, that'll mess you up, too! If you stayed 2-300 cals below what you need, your body could be going into starvation mode! Try not to go overboard, or "underboard" as the case may be- LOL, and hang in there. The scale will cooperate soon, I'm sure!

Well, I just made some homemade chicken fingers with a nice healthy coating- for my dog. I did try one and it was mighty delicious! I wish I would just cook for DH and myself regularly like I end up doing for my girl. At least I've been learning a lot of new tricks ever since she's been sick, and maybe I'll apply them to us sooner or later. Sigh...

Rtsmme4life 09-25-2010 08:48 PM

Thanks for the support Auntie! I know that I will eventually get to 202 I just have to patient. Losing 32 pounds has been amazing,I still at times can't believe that I have done it and kept it off. I have never been about to lose weight before! But thank you so much for the kind words, it has helped a lot!

sept15lija 09-26-2010 04:43 PM

Mel - I totally think it is water retention. You know I did one day of physical work, and my weight went up and stayed up for a couple of days, it's totally normal when you use your muscles more than normal. Anyhow as you know it WILL come off, it has no choice!! But I understand being bummed about it - so annoying!! :)

Things have been very busy with our new puppy! I forgot how much work they are, lol. But she's a sweetie and very much worth it! Hope everybody's having a great weekend - I bought myself a pair of size 10's target jeans....I can't wait to be able to wear them, probably not for another 20 pounds but clothing keeps me so excited about losing weight!

Rtsmme4life 09-26-2010 09:54 PM

Thank you Liz!! :) I'm sure it will eventually come off but I think I will wait until the middle of next week to check again lol I know it was only one pound but it just sucks because I was so careful during the week and expected more. But life goes on and I still have a little over a month to get to 202! I CAN'T wait to see a 1 in front of my weight!!

Good luck with the puppy...the kids have wanted one but I always seem to panic when there is a dog in my house. I get this strange anxiety like I'm so worried they will mess something up.

Satine 09-27-2010 10:20 AM

Morning Girls, was able to stay OP all weekend, yes even with going to the Earth Festival and having my favorite pizza ( Pizza King ) at my inlaws sat night ...BUT the scale showed me up a pound this morning so I am not real happy about that ....gonna stay off of the scale until Friday morning and see how that goes...now Weds is my birthday so it is a given that it will be a diet free day, right ? Right !!! :carrot: Only comes once a year and I will need it with turning 37, haha ...it really doesnt bother me ...yet ...

Mel - as you can see above I feel ya on the pound up ...I know it is SUPER frustrating...hope the scale moves for both of us this week, in a good way.

Liz - oh the joys of a new puppy ...I dont envy you ...even though my doggie is 9 years old I still remember getting him at 6 weeks old and having to train him and all ....just like adding a baby, haha

Auntie G - I know, I hate that the Biggest Loser is 2 hours and mostly filler...I with you was saddened by alot of thier stories, tear jerkers ...and I am with you, the older i get the more heat just makes me sick ...I say we move in with Arabella, haha

Arabella - let us know how the sweaty yoga goes :D

Well back to the grind...the weather is actually cold here today...nice and cool, high of only 68 today woo hoo !! my kind of Fall ...

Talk to you all later,
Carri

sept15lija 09-27-2010 03:38 PM

Mel - Well you are right puppies definitely mess things up. She's already chewing all of the kid's toys. But that's OK I expected it!

Carri - Yes definitely like adding a baby! Maybe not quite as much work, but still! We're enrolled in training classes starting in two weeks so that'll be good - more exercise for me and to get her trained of course!

Hope everybody's having a great day, it's rainy here but we got out for a bit. Other than that I think we'll be hanging at home. Things are going well weight loss wise, I weighed in at 191 this morning, as much as I love the 190's I can't wait for the 180's! :)

Arabella 09-27-2010 04:15 PM

Tired today -- maybe overdid it yesterday. Plus I'm up yet another pound from eating rice crackers (salty! I should know better). My eyes are puffy, too -- I'm very lovely.

Auntie g, homemade chicken fingers? You are a very good mummy to your pup  Re: the weather -- why can't it just moderate a bit? Does it NEED to be either hot or cold?

Mel, maybe this week's WI will make up for it. :crossed:

Liz, that's the worst -- I hate it when I add intensity to my workout and GAIN weight. But I concur that it happens.

Carri, 68 is COLD? It would be warm here. This morning when we got up it was 1 (ONE) degree above freezing. :brr:

K, chickies, have a great evening!

Rtsmme4life 09-28-2010 07:46 AM

Carri- Of course you get your birthday off!!

Liz- Congrats on almost getting into the 180s! You are rocking it!

Arabella-Hope you have a great day!

Had a little bit of an off day...well off dinner. I was out shopping with my boys for a few hours to get them some new fall/winter clothes yesterday and by the time we got home I was just whooped! So DH ended up ordering pizza while I was gone and there it was when I got home...I had 2 pieces of thin crust mushroom and onion & a few wings :nono: But at that point I didn't feel guilty and was tired lol I weighed this morning and I'm at 209.4 so I haven't gained. Time to try again today, I'm starting the day off with doing laundry and drinking some OJ! Hope everyone has a great day!
