You ask a lot of questions for someone from New Jersey
Okay, I know you're not from New Jersey, but that's one of my favorite Roseanne Roseannadanna lines.
I notice everyone showed up on a day when I didn't post. I find that highly suspicious. :chin: Lovely to see you Lushie. I've been thinking of going to Rent too. It's coming to the UMaine Performing Arts Ctr, but I forget when. And I think it's a great idea to have a drive-thru Can. Thx'g tableau at your house while you're on vacation. That way you won't be inconvenienced by all that commotion. Well, have a great vaca!! Peachie, what a great idea! Too bad you couldn't have taken the same online writing course that DD did. Well, it was a college level course. But it was geared toward 8-10th graders. They were all nice to each other and the teacher was helpful. Cherry has been sweet enough to mention my diary on her zippyland site. Thanks dear. I should really update if people are going to actually read it, huh? Gotta go. DD and her friend have been in the kitchen for way too long, and I think I'd better go see what horrors they are concocting. :yikes: Kiwi |
Wow.
That stretch pant quote is soooo deep, Sugar. I need to think about that for awhile.
I'm getting over being a b*tch because I think I'm going to book a cruise and DH will have to come along or waste the ticket. He is soooo hard to get a commitment from. I can't believe he ever committed to marriage to begin with. :dizzy: Now, the bad news is that I will be cruising at my highest weight ever. I will be just a quivering lump of blubber, laying around in a deck chair, ordering food. Where do we find the thread that Brattie is talking about? Nothing like a good cat fight:devil: . Lush, please post photos of your thxgiving display. Will you have the same display for the US version, or will you have an all new and improved display (hard to do)? Peachy, why the online writing course? You should be teaching it! After years of posting here, you definitely know how to express yourself. Can you use smileys in your online course? :D Geez, I'm in a goofy mood today. I told the guys here at work I was going to have a filet o fish for lunch, since it was friday. They had to tell me it's only wednesday. I seem to have shorted out a couple brain wires. :hypno: |
Y'know
I don't quite understand the stretch pants quote either, but it certainly has a nice ring to it. Ya gotta earn your stretch pants!
DH went to the eye doctor, and he is finally getting bifocals. :fr: I'm  at him, he has needed them for quite some time. About driving me crazy with his not seeing stuff. The other night I was on the computer and he was watching a show I wanted to see, so I asked him if he was recording it, he said Yes. Later he goes Oops, it wasn't on. "I looked at it and it looked like it was on!" Get real, ya old dear! Sometimes I can't believe this aging thing is actually happening to us! I'm all for the cruise, Wab. If DH decides not to go, let me know, I'm a lot of fun and I'm available.:twirly: Hey Peachie, isn't this your day off? Whatcha doin'? I've got to whip this house into some kind of shape before Saturday. Some old friends are visiting the area and will probably stop by on Sunday. If I remember correctly, this place didn't look quite this awful when they lived around here, so I will be duly embarrassed. Of course I'm on the computer instead of cleaning. Okay, I'm going now. I will do 30 minutes of picking up, okay?:nose: No, really, I'm going. Kiwi |
OK, the cruise is booked! It took all day of calls back and forth between the travel agent & me translating to DH, with him dragging his feet all the way. He acts like he's being sentenced to some horrible fate. We aren't going on our actual anniversary, we're going the first week in November. :cb: The ship leaves LA on sunday, 2 days at sea, 1 day in Puerto Vallarta, 1 day in Matzalan, 1 day in Cabo San Lucas, 1 day at sea, then back to LA. I need to lose 30 ugly pounds fast! Do you think I can lose it and firm up by Nov. 1?
I need someone to visit so that I'd clean up my pigpen, Kiwi. Send your friends over to my house after they visit you. My house is just like me, as time goes by it gets harder and harder to look presentable.:stress:I'm sure the DH looks very intellectual in his new spectacles. At least you can tell him he does. Just don't tell him it makes him look older.:yikes: Woo-hoo! It's bunco night tomorrow!!!! |
Yay!!!!!!!!!!
Wabby's going cruisin'!! Wabby's going cruisin'!!!!! I'm so excited for you! I love cruises. We went on one for our honeymoon, and it was perfect. Nothing like those lovely waiters and cabinboys at your beck and call. And more meals than hours in the day! There's usually plenty of opportunities to get exercise on board too. Like a morning walk around the deck, swimming, dancing classes ;) Who needs to lose weight beforehand? Just get walking so you'll be in shape for all that fun!
Speaking of walking, I haven't done any at all for so long I can't remember. I can't stand the idea of going for a walk without my faithful hairy companion. And she just keeps getting worse, poor baby. But I've really got to get out there and get some exercise before I melt into the couch and can't get out. Thanks for the image of DH in his intellectual spectacles, he'll appreciate that, I'm sure. Of course, you're right, that's better than making fun of him... :s: He wears glasses anyway, so I don't know if he'll get anything that looks different, but get this: for his first pair of bifocals, he's getting them put in safety glasses for work. Just like a guy, eh? No school here today, so I am enjoying my first cup of coffee right now. And I'm sure I'll get a whooooooole lot of housecleaning done today. That'll be the day :faint: Kiwi |
The Looooooove Boat
Wow, Wabby, how womantic. Oh, I mean romantic. I don't know if my queasy stomach would survive a cruise, but it sounds wonderful.
We had dinner with German friends of ours tonight and tomorrow they're expecting a visit from an internet pen pal all the way from West Virginia. Apparently she has pen pals all over Germany and is going to visit three families in the two weeks that she'll be here. She sounds like tons of fun. Hey Kiwi! I know what you mean about walking. Kids have been off for two weeks and I've barely been out of the house. Flab city. My turkey is in the fridge defrosting as we speak. |
;jsakl
MMy teacher is not 18. He is grown. this little British twerp in the class is 18. The class is going well now. People are being nice and helpful and posting stuff. Also, Thursdays I am volunteering at the library at ds's school. Also, Herbie and I WERE GOING TO GO ON A CRUISE and I AM SO JEAOUS OF the WABBYKATEER.
Other than being really confused, you guys are adorable. Except Wabby. I feel much better than I did the other day. Did I tell you how bad I felt? Well, I won't. And YES I AM FAT. Just in the stomach and butt though. I have skinny fingers. Bye. :moo: :ink: :mouse: :chicken: |
|
You're just a bouncy little hamster yourself, aren't you, Sugar?
PeachPie, did you just call Wabby the only one who's not adorable? Kiwi, Head Troublemaker |
:?: :?: Wow I have really made a certain person mad at me. It was never my intention to do that. I am also not suppose to write what I want in my journal? I had to add a page today to see if this dang cat fight can be dropped. It was none of you ladies I love all of you here. It just irks me that someone suposebly asked if I should be censored? I guess then that I need to agree with people when I disagree with them so they stay happy? Thought this was a place to sound off? I will post more laters just needed to asy ARRGGGGG! D
|
oops!
I thought I edited that out. I was trying to get the hamster image to appear here, but it wouldn't work. Oh well. The other day I heard that hamsters are good at weather forecasting. If they lie around in a heap, it's going to rain, and if they run all over the place the weather will be nice. You learn something new every day.
Brattie, you poor thing. Those gals still giving you a hard time? How silly. After wrestling with a mean, nasty pie crust, I finally have my apple pie in the oven. It's going to look awful and taste fantastic. |
party pooped
I'm a pooped partygoer. The party I went to yesterday (and made giant potato salad for) was in honor of a couple of friends who are visiting from Fla. They used to live here and all their old friends were dragged out to a camp (read: cottage on lake) to party from early afternoon through the evening. DD brought a friend and a guitar and we had campfire singing (well, actually they sang mostly songs they liked, so there was no older generational singing along, but it was entertaining). My old friends are much as usual. Today we are joining them for a jaunt up toward the mountain for foliage peering.
Doggie is doing not well, I am starting to wonder when I'm going to have to make "the decision". Of course this just gets me sobbing, so I don't think about it too much. Some of this dog nursing can get a bit comical, though -- this morning I got up to take her outside. Had her on her feet, picked her up to take her to the door (remember, she's 40 lbs or so), set her down to open the door, went back to pick her up and she had started hopping toward the door. Now, this must mean she's feeling a bit of urgency so I hurried to pick her up, whereupon she peed down my leg, across the door mat, across the threshold, across the outside mat, and down the steps before I managed to set her down again. Oy. :rain: Ta ladies Kiwi |
Peaches, maybe this will make you feel better - I'm going on this cruise at my all time high weight. At least I am unless I starve for the next 3 weeks, and then I'll be a couple pounds under my all time high. This hadn't really bothered me until I went shopping this weekend for clothes. Not only are there no clothes in the stores for warm weather, if there were, I was so depressed with the 3 way mirrors I wouldn't buy them anyway.
I went to bunco and didn't win a dime. We have a fellow bunco'er that is preggers with her first baby at the tender age of 38. Wow! I'm so glad I had my babies when I was in my 20's. Kiwi, your partygoing sounds like such fun. Isn't it nice to see old friends and connect like no time has passed? Sorry about the old doggie. Although we always know the reality, it's so hard to let them go. MMMMM. The ugly pies are always the tastiest, Sugar P. Brattie, please tell me where I can read this melodrama. It sounds to me like this person is just looking for someone to be mad at and you just happened to be unlucky enough to be the target. But don't tell her I said that, because I sure don't want her going after me!:dizzy: |
Wabbit, you need a personal trainer! Who wants to volunteer to be Wabbit's personal trainer? Not me ofcourse, I can't even train myself to get up off the couch.
HAPPY CANADIAN THANKSGIVING!! to all our favorite Canadians and HAPPY COLUMBUS DAY!! to, hmm, everyone who doesn't have school today. Later gators Kiwi |
Oooh, I shouldn't have eaten all that turkey
Still full from yesterday's feast. Kids went back to school today, that's why we had it Sunday. I made sweet potato casserole for the first time (I know, I know, it's *so* 5 minutes ago) and it was wonderful. Kids hated it, of course, but dh actually came back for seconds.
So sorry about the pooch, Kiwi. You are so kind to her. At least when they go you can say they had a good life. Wabby, you'll look gorgeous on your cruise. Do you have your mix 'n' match outfits all ready to go? Do you know they recommend taking only 3 pairs of shoes on a cruise? Can you believe that? PMSing like crazy. Gotta go make a turkey sandwich for dh's lunch tomorrow. And the next day. And the next day. Naah, it was only a 10 pounder so it won't be around for long. It's Columbus Day? How cool. |
