Good afternoon, ladies! Its 86 right now but that cold weather is on the way from Faye and Maggie.
Too much eating out last week added up to 1 pound up on the scale at WW this morning. My own fault but at least I know what to do to fix it. I findally have my house put back together and it looks nice. Faye, enjoy your lunch at Ruby Tuesday. I love their taliapa or a small steak. I'm glad you are knitting again. It just wasn't right not hearing about your knitting projects. Maggie, I'll post a picture of the mystery quilt when it is finished. We get the last installment in September so it will be awhile. I hope they get the roof fixed soon! Jean, hope you are enjoying your day! |
Saturday
GOOD AFTERNOON MAGNOLIAS
It is a calmer warm day here in the Heartland. I haven't gotten much done today except typing up week one and two out of the SB diet booklet to put in my little hand held leather binder. The booklet has about 1,200 food listings and I just wanted the basic phase 2 ones in my booklet since they say to stay on that phase until one reaches goal. I am going to give it a go and try to jump start my program. It is good food then ~ you are to incorporate phase 3 when you reach goal and it does look doable. I have got to make sure I have the good food on hand to start it though, so I will probably start it on Monday. It can go hand in hand with the WW program. No friekie stuff. Will came in with a beautiful boquet of all different colored daiseys for me and a bunch of red rose buds to hand out to the ladies at chruch tomorrow. I have never seen daiseys come in so many colors before. JEAN How did Bob do on the SB program? Did you find the revised and expanded "little book" which is packed with new essential information? SUSAN I do believe I have some talipa in the freezer. We don't have that restaurant here but I have Schwans.:^: OOO too much eating out can do that for even if we make what we think are good choices sometimes they don't turn out to be reflected on the iron monster. It will come off for you know how to do it if anyone does. DONNA FAYE What a nice gift for you. I know you will have a fun time out with Kelly and family. I certainly do hope the doctor can find out what your system is doing and can find a fix this go-round. I need to go get something out of the freezer for dinner. Type at y'all later. |
Good Afternoon, Flowers! It"s another day of "more of the same" weather in my neighborhood. COLD, windy, and a few sprinkles here 'n there to add to the mix. :( It's supposed to rain tomorrow so I hope the weatherman is wrong on that one since the kids are coming and the little ones love to play in our back yard. I've been to the grocery store and am doing laundry as I type. I can't imagine doing laundry in the wringer washer era and line drying everything! I do remember my grandma and my mother doing that.
Susan -- I love the Cat House Quilters' name! :D How cute! There is a resident cat at the fireplace/stone store where we went yesterday. I think she could smell Ernie because she wasn't too sure about me at first. You will have the pesky pound gone, along with a friend asap! Is there a story that goes along with the mystery quilt or does everyone just do their own design to contribute to the finished quilt? "Gma" -- I told Bob I'm staying out of the kitchen! I missed my cake tester when I was washing a few things by hand and it fell into the garbage disposal. It's a little frayed on the plastic handle! I hope you didn't have to take out alot of stitches to fix T's sock. I've never been to a Ruby Tuesday's; enjoy your time with your family and I know you will have fun shopping for yarn. I hope the flood animals all find homes or at least foster homes until things are back to normal. Maggie -- I don't have the "Good Fats/Carbs" that goes with the SB book. I will have to look for it. Bob hasn't actually done the diet itself. He figures if he cuts back on everything portionwise, eliminates white food, and walks fairly often, he will lost the 5#s before he sees the doctor at the end of the month. :crossed: We'll see -- I know he doesn't want to take any more meds for anything. I hope the plastic held on the church roof. It was terribly windy here yesterday and they issued an advisory while we were in Sioux City. We came home from the fireplace shop with lots of books to look at. They had several fireplace displays and samples to choose from. They all would look different here, I'm sure. I hope you all are having a nice day and enjoy the rest of the weekend! Jean -- from Iowa! |
HAPPY MOTHER"S DAY to you all! I hope you are enjoying nice sunny weather. It is cooler here today, but not cold by any means and cloudy. They expect rain to move in tomorrow though so I imagine the people in the flood areas are dreading that.
We had a very nice lunch with Kelly, Tom and Thomas. It was busy but we got there early enough and they had beaten us there and had a table already so there was no wait. We came back home and started to watch the ballgame but they are playing so poorly we turned it off and Jack went upstairs to his office and I have been sitting here knitting. My son and dil called this morning and it was nice to chat with them for a bit. Alicia and Jackson had been in Virginia for a week and both of them were very sick the whole time and it looks like the tonsils are going to have to come out with Jackson. I hope their dr doesn't mess around with him much longer and gets them out and tubes in so he doesn't have to continue down the road of repeat ear infections every couple months like his dad. Alicia burst an eardrum while away from home and was very sick so it wasn't a pleasant trip for the two of them at all. Jay didn't go so she didn't even have anyone to take care of Jackson so she could rest, poor thing. I bought ball winder, a finger yarn separator and enough yarn to make 4 more pairs of socks with my gift card. Believe it or not, I got frustrated with this yarn again not striping so I ripped out the sock completely and it was 2/3 finished. I put it on tiny needles with a pattern for Jackson and it is striping perfectly so Jackson will get the socks in "cartoon" colored yarn. At least it will provide him with a variety of colors to wear with them. The yarn has every color in the rainbow in it. Jean: My cake tester is all metal. I bought it at a Pampered Chef party several years ago though if it had gone through the disposal I imagine it woul have ended up looking like a mess. You have just had a terrible cooking week. Kelly was telling me she was making something and decided she had a bit too much oil in the pan and poured it into the sink and there was water in the sink and of course the oil splashed on her so she has several burned spots on her upper chest area. She said it was stupid and she just wasn't thinking when she did it but luckily it was a very small amount of oil. Susan: I look forward to seeing the quilt this fall. I know it will be cute. I don't remember do you have a theme that goes with it for you all to follow and do you then do what you want or are there like color restrictions and stuff or what? Maggie: I like talapia once in awhile but I am not a big fish person. I never learned to eat it much when I was a kid though my dad loved to fish and I think it is something you learn to love or not. I wish I did like it more. At least I like chicken! lol Well gals, I just wanted to get in here since I didn't this morning. Back to knitting for me. Faye |
Good Evening, Flowers! It's been a busy day around here; the kids came before noon and stayed until almost 7:30. We grilled hamburgers and hot dogs at noon, then ordered pizza for tonight. The grandkids all ate pbj sandwiches before they left for home! They played outside most of the time and had a great time together. The weather was cool but no rain so it was a nice day. I am ready tocall it a day and head off to bed.
"Gma" -- I'm glad you enjoyed your lunch with your family and had fun shopping with your gift card. :D That is too bad about Alicia and Jackson being sick while gone away from home. It's bad enough to be sick, but to not be at home would be worse. I hope that Kelly is ok and the burns aren't too bad. That would be scary! I hope you all have a marvelous Monday tomorrow! Jean -- from Iowa! |
