Dropped 0.8kg - very happy :carrot:.

This week I am going to do the same as last - write down all my calories and be really aware of the decisions I am making.

For now, getting ready for work again in the big green shed in 41ēC heat. Yesterday was revolting, and I must have drunk 5L of water - blurk!

LittleKiwi 01-17-2010 05:46 PM

Good work Ani, that's an awesome result :bravo:

I had a pretty average weekend - I just lose the plot without the structure of a normal working day. Didn't go too crazily overboard but would definitely have been over my calories and I didn't do any exercise. Did get to spend time with the various family members who are visiting so that was nice.

Today I'm doing well so far and will be interested to weight in at the gym tonight and see if I've lost any weight.

Tomorrow will be interesting as I'm going on a hosted visit on a cruise ship and they're providing lunch. Eeek! Will go to the gym either before or after and run off any extra food!

No weight loss for me, still sitting at 91.8kg :(

Did 30 mins weights, ran for 10 mins and walked for 10 mins. Going to do spin tomorrow ... hopefully that will give me a kick start!

barbegirl71 01-18-2010 03:50 AM

I lost 200g last week. Better than nothing! :)

I didn't weigh-in this week...had a shocker of a week with food!! Ugh!

However, I have decided I need to weigh-in on a Sunday. I find Monday is to hectic...I get up weigh myself and then basically forget the week that was and continue on blindly. I figure if I weigh-in on Sunday mornings, I'll have time to think back over the week that was and work out where I went wrong, or how I can do better, or what I might have done that was right, and then plan for the new week ahead.

This morning I went to work and instigated an office exercise...every day at morning tea time we will climb the stairs of the building. For this week we are starting at five levels...in three weeks time we want to be climbing eight levels to the top floor! I also made the commitment with my office colleagues that I intend to lose 5kg by the end of February! Maybe having to face them every day might motivate me to make the effort!

Last Tuesday saw the one year anniversay of my arrival here. From a weight loss point of view, I don't think there has been a huge change...maybe a gain of 4 or 5kg?

In myself however, I have seen myself a lot less confined to home. I have found enjoyment in being able to make my own decisions and do my own thing without having to answer to anyone.

Although I still tend to prefer my own company, I have found pleasure in occasional outings with friends. I learnt how to play the pokies at the casino! And I learnt I suck at ten pin bowling! But there will be plenty of time to practice with regular ten pin bowling nights planned!

I have learnt to cook! I have grown one red capsicum! I have unknowingly grown a pineapple!! I have made minor improvements through home renovations!

I have a junkmail round that has kept me moving now for 9 months. I have learnt that not all dogs love my like my own do!!

I found life in taking a risk by jumping out of a plane!

I have no regrets about moving here.

And I want to be fit and healthy and enjoy more in the years to come!

Barb 200g is still almost half a tub of margarine - and I would consider that to be a significant result.

Julia I think the important thing is that you've started going back to the gym and getting your head in the right space.

Lindor I really like your idea of a work challenge - there's something about involving other people that keeps you accountable. And motivated :dizzy:.

It's 29ēC here and it is 4.30am - good sign for a horrible day. I drank almost 5L of water yesterday - it was disgustingly hot here, and looks like we're going to cop it for the 4th day in a row.

I'm on track and motivated for this week, and I'm really happy to see everyone else here is making inroads too - we can do this!

Hmmm. Food today, not so good.

Breakfast I didn't prepare anything so ended up having 350ml of orange juice and a savoury scone. Lunch was a hosted lunch onboard a cruise ship and there I ate: 3 small bread rolls with butter, small bowl of pasta, fillet of salmon with one small potato and one small carrot and a serving of spinach. Oh, and 2 glasses of wine!

So now I'm feeling like a big blob and while I know that I really should go to the gym tonight, I so don't feel like it. I'll force myself though because I know I'll feel better for it. Might do a spin class as I haven't done one of those for a while. I think today's workout will once again be sponsored by caffeine!

Oh and add to that lunch a serving of chocolate souffle!

Reading that it's probably little wonder that I now have an upset tummy and have spent most of the last half hour on the toiled :(

And off I go again.

May not be going to the gym tonight after all.

Amy that's awesome! Combat's a hard class and it sounds like you kick butt in it :carrot:

For some reason I woke up at 4.30am today, full of beans :dizzy: it's now 5 and the gym opens in half an hour so I'm going to go soon and get my workout done for the day. I'll do weights and 40 minutes cardio.

After that I've got the day off work and am picking my favourite auntie up from the airport as she arrives in from the US this morning. Can't wait to see her!

LittleKiwi 01-20-2010 06:42 PM

Woo go Amy you're on fire girl! :flame:

I'm so busy with work and family visiting and stuff on in the evenings that I don't know if I'm Arthur or Martha at the moment!

Boy I was hungry after my early morning workout yesterday. I'd had a banana before I went to the gym. 1 egg on toast when I got home then 2 pieces of toast with marmite about an hour later and another banana an hour after that. That's 4 breakfasts!

Went out for lunch with my aunties and had a delicious Japanese stir fry from Wagamama which I'm sure must have been very high in calories but it was delicious. 2 toasties for dinner washed down with a couple of vodka, lemon, lime and bitters. Oops!

No time for the gym today as I've got a work function after work but so far so good with food.

I'm sitting here on my day off, REALLY wanting to go and buy a big packet of potato chips… And really wanting to sit down and scoff the lot. What's that about?

I thought that if I came in here and shared my thoughts it might help me resist the urge. I don't even know why I want them - I'm tired, got a hideous sore throat, and really should be doing housework. But I just want to sit down with a book and a bag of chips :(.

So the plan is to just try and stay strong, distract myself with doing something useful for a couple of hours, and then make yummy roast vegetables and chicken for dinner.

And I should remember that chips are of no nutritional value - but will actually end up in my body somewhere being stored as fat.

amouse 01-21-2010 03:21 AM
