Assessing, regrouping
 
Good morning, Lovelies!

As reported, first week on the Gabriel Method was fantastic but the next less so. Since then, I've been eating like a normal person -- not eating when I'm not hungry, not stuffing my face when I am. Getting lots of exercise. But not shifting the weight, which means, I know, that I need to be eating less than I am. I was at a screenwriting workshop all last week and ate well -- and much less than all the slender people there -- but ended up 2 pounds UP from when it started? :shrug: Yeah, that's the way it goes sometimes.

I've also been building sprints into my runs. I do think it makes my muscles hold water for a while but surely to gawd that should be over now. Anyway. Time to look at the sitch and see if I can regain the wonderfulness of the first week on the GM. And, failing that, recommit to WW tracking.

Hi there!

I've been on 3fatchicks on and off for a while. I think I would enjoy posting with you guys daily. You seem like a great bunch, and I want to be in ONEderland so bad! I've been in the 200s for 10 years, and I'm sick of it.

As you can see from my signature, I'm doing the Carbohydrate Addict's plan. It doesn't seem like it could work but, thankfully for me, it does. It's easy and I love it. I don't even get hungry.

Sorry this is so short, but I've been dragging all morning. I am tired and took sinus meds, so everything is taking forever. I don't know if you all make a habit of posting daily menus and /or exercise. I will probably post my exercise, because it will keep me accountable. And honest with myself.

Morning All ....well I am now at 211 ....every day it seems I am chugging along and getting closer and closer to Onederland :carrot:

I still have my goal to lose 30 before August 1st when I leave for CA, so that means I need to lose 13 more pounds in 5 weeks, scary ....I dont know if I can make it but am certainly going to try !!!!

Welcome Amany - would love to have you in our group! Good luck to you!

Arabella - I know that you, Auntie G, and I can get into Onederland soon if we just all try....lets do this !!!!

Okay, so yesterday I signed up for a challenge and then messed up on my eating. Smart! Instead of having those "monthly cravings" when I have my period, like most women, I seem to get them when ovulation starts. And crave until a day or so into my period. :mad: Today is brand new though, so I'll get right back on track. My hope is that if I am stronger against the cravings a bit more each month, they will stop mattering at some point. Whatever happens, I still want to be out of these 200s by July 13; and stay our for good!

Okay, so it's time to get off my butt and get some exercise in. I don't know if I'd rather brave the heat and humidity or work out with Leslie Sansone in the refreshing a/c. Hmmm...

Always a catch! I had a wonderful first week on the method but then I just sort-of did it. And my weight loss has just sort-of stalled.

Here's an explanation:

In a nutshell, the guided meditation and visualizations help you stop wanting to eat more food than you need and convince your mind that it wants to make your body slim. So it's kind of automatic, which is pretty sweet. No more struggling!

I've been working toward this kind of approach to some extent anyway but this really crystallizes it for me. I know if I'm not hungry and I want to eat something, that I probably need something other than food. A nap, a visit, some play time... So if I tend to my needs, eat when I'm hungry and not otherwise, that alone would do it. Add the visualization, meditation, etc... I love this method.

There's a lot of theory and research behind it, which is explained and documented in the book.

The focus is on adding healthy food to your diet, rather than taking junk out right away. He suggests that people eat as much as they want of whatever they want. If someone had a really crappy diet, it could take them quite a while to start losing. Although I've also heard stories of people having lightbulb moments that started them on their way immediately.

I haven't been spending a lot of time doing visualizations and etc. I just try to use positive self-talk throughout the day and possibly do one or two of the exercises he recommends. Most nights I've listened to the guided meditation, which is very relaxing.

As far me.. I have been so excited in the little bit of loss I have already have! My 16 shorts are falling down so I dug out a pair of 14's today and they fit so well! Not tight at all!! yah!!!! :carrot:

Well I'm down 2! If I hadn't strayed it would have been soooo much better, but it's a lesson learned. I haven't weight 206 in years. I don't really remember that last time. Eight or nine years ago maybe...

I have strayed for a couple days but quickly realized why I am doing what I am doing! To look and feel healthier!

Well... Unofficially I'm at 204. Of course I won't count it until Monday morning. If I continue at this rate I won't make my July 13 goal of ONEderland, but I think I'll get there sometime this month. I can live with that. :D

Amany - you are so close to Onederland...you will be there in no time and I will be right on your heals :)

I know that I am going to get right at 199 or 200 and go on vacation and put on a couple...but I dont mind...I need the vacation and once I get back I can get right back on track and continue going back down.
