I love my bars and shakes........
I love love love the chocolate shakes.... then the strawberry then vanilla dont much care for the vanilla ones. I know lots of people mix fruits with their shakes.... I just like mine plain. And I find a shake at lunch time really keeps me full til supper. I also like having my shake are lunch with a veggie..... cukes carrots... or an apple or banana or etc

THe bars. LOVE THE BARS tastes like chocolate lol I like the honey nugat (sp) and the chocolate cereal bar snackers choice YUMMY!

I had a honey nugat bar at lunch the one day with 1 oz of cheese and a cup of celery and I was STUFFED full til 6:30ish... so they dont seem to be much sometimes but they sure do pack a punch

Hello everyone!!!

:D I hope everyone is doing well... sounds like it!!!

Went for my weigh in today and I lost again for a total of 14 pounds !!! But my inches are not budging!!! I only lost an inch this time for a total of 8 inches. What gives???? :?: Again they mentioned the cla's but I don't want to take anymore supplements if I don't have to.

My center told me to put organic lemon juice which comes in a bottle in my water to help rid the body of sodium to.... also I drink alot of green tea to. Not pure green tea but I drink tetley mint/green tea and I love it.

I too have the bars, I bring them to work when its coffee break to Tim hortons that way i am not tempted by the cookies etc. I have the shakes too but I don
't use them that often... hard pressed to give up starch a protein and a fat.!! LOL I will if I am in a real hurry.

Take care

Lee I know that sometimes when you lose the weight fast on this you dont see the inches lost til a week for two later. No worries! it will come!!! Your body kinda plays catch up with what you have already lost

MicheleR 05-13-2009 02:30 PM

Meme: I teach a wide variety... grade 9-12 split French, Grade 7 Science, 1/2 time resource and adult ed. evening classes. We'll see how/if that changes for next year I guess! I actually live about an hour form the Sask. border so I go to the clinic in Brandon. It's not bad because I usually visit with my mom when I'm in the city.. just sometimes think that if I was going more often I might be doing a bit better.

HappyGirl: I was not a big fan of teh texture of the bar they sent me home with so I went shopping for some others. they said that the slim down almond coconut was almost identical and that I could use it instead. However, since moving onto QLPI they have taken away a protein so I find that I rarely eat the bars unless I'm on the road.

What flavour of shake do they send with the kit? I still haven't tried my sample package. Maybe I ought to do that some day soon...

Lee: Congrats on the continued loss!

HappyGirl 05-13-2009 02:33 PM

Thanks for the bar/shake recommendations.

Organic lemon juice...interesting. I love to put freshly squeezed lemon juice into my water from time to time. Good to know about it flushing out the sodium. You know, since I've been on this plan (only 3 days) my fingers feel slimmer and my wedding rings are already fitting a little looser. Feels great. I think it is from the lack of sodium water retention. Whatever it is I LIKE it!

Is this the only on-line HM forum/support that's out there? I was expeting the HM website to have a forums like the WW site does. However, I really like this forum.

Have a great day ladies! Off to lunch and another few glasses of water!:carrot:

See funny how my center told me not to touch the CLA's until further along in the program... I don't get why some centers are so pushy... sorry to vent...but I can't help myself :)

Dria 05-13-2009 03:32 PM

I agree I think theres many other things to try before going on more pills!!!

Is it the centre that is pushy or the particular girl who you were speaking with?

witchie 05-13-2009 05:35 PM

The owner of my centre is pushy, the other girls not so much. They do work on commission sales though, so you can see why they push.

mememegogirl 05-13-2009 09:53 PM

I am not a fan of the 'hard sell' either. If I am interested in other products I would rather do it on my own terms rather than have something pushed down my throat. I do know that there is one girl at my centre I hope to avoid from now on. She was the one who cornered me about buying more products and/or weeks so that I didn't feel the pressure of being 'behind schedule'.

About the bars... I don't care for them at all. Protein shakes either. Yuck. But that is personal preference. I would rather have a couple of hard boiled eggs (I usually keep some on hand) as I run out the door than those other things. But I am a weird one. :P

About the rings... that would make me very sad indeed seeing as I am a newlywed. They are loose now but I tend to have 'piano fingers' anyway... not very much meat on them at all.

Michele: your life sounds very busy! What a big commitment you have made to go in to Herbal 1x/week. That is wonderful!

MicheleR 05-13-2009 11:21 PM

Again, very happy that I have yet to find a pushy person at my clinic!

Meme: Life is busy, but I decided that I really had to make the commitment to myself. Tired of being sick and tired I guess. Pushing myself harder lately to try and see what I actually can do on my own. And you're not the only one that doesn't really like the bars... have this horrible issue with the texture of foods myself :). Kinda limiting in the "new food appreciation" category. If nothing else, I'm a creature of habit!

Piano fingers... interesting. I'm in the opposite spectrum... sausage fingers haha. And they tend to stick around (along with my large arms, regardless of what size I am)

Hope everyone had a good day!

I managed to make up for my lack of gym attendance yesterday... 3.5 hours in the yard and 45 minutes at the gym. No wonder the night flew by! Who knew you could fill 35 bags with leaves and twigs and still not be done in the yard... not to mention the stack of branches that's as tall as my fence! I'll become an outdoor person yet...

P.S. Anyone near my area to help get my stiff *** out of bed tomorrow? I can already feel it settling in haha

Night all!

Dria 05-13-2009 11:31 PM

LOL Piano fingers...... thats the only part of me thats ever been and or stayed slim lol. I have long skinny fingers as is... so when the weight came off guess I had some more to lose off of them anyways lol. My ring finger is only sized at 5.5...... think Ill have to take it to a 4......?!?

MicheleR 05-13-2009 11:39 PM

That's entertaining for me. I think my fingers started this journey at 7.5 but I know they were 8-8.5 in the past. Probably would have broken all of my fingers by now if they were as small as yours Meme and Dria!

Maybe that's were some of my weight that needs to come off is hiding... haha

Chantal0123 05-14-2009 08:10 AM

Happy FRIDAY! (OOOPS - it's FRIDAY for me hahaha)

WI last night was AWESOME! I lost 2.6 pounds since Monday!
I'm officially at 20 pounds lost (20.6) and I'm never looking back!

I also lost 6.5 inches... My total is now 25 1/4" lost in 6 weeks.
:carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot:

Long weekend ahead...extra long for me but a lot of hard work is waiting for us!! I'm hoping to finish most of our renos this weekend...so that we can BREATHE from June on.

witchie 05-14-2009 08:27 AM

Chantal: Woooot!! Congrats on the weight loss!! Good for you!!

mememegogirl 05-14-2009 09:06 AM

Michele: Don't hurt your back!!!!!!!!! :)

Chantal: Way to go!!!!!!!!!!

Dria: Don't we talk about the weirdest things on here? :P

It is TOM for me. Brutal! But last week was 'hungry week'... this week is straight up pain. Blah! It shall be over with soon enough but talk about feeling lousy. Between my back, hips, and now this... I hobble around like an old lady ... dragging my piano fingers on the floor... J/K...

Have a good one everyone!

Dria 05-14-2009 09:35 AM

Congrats Chantal thats fantastic. Isnt it just a boost of moral to see that scale number decrease!

Good luck with all the work Michele!!!!

Meme.... never thought Id discuss finger size outside the Store I buy rings in lol but hey it works. I guess skinnier fingers is just as much a part of losing weight as the boobs..... How many of you have lost boobs?! lol I HAVE I HAVE lol

Chantal0123 05-14-2009 10:30 AM

Thank you ladies for your support - appreciate it!

On another topic... I'm looking for my passion... lol
Did anyone see it by any chance??

MicheleR 05-14-2009 12:20 PM

Meme: No kidding about the back! Actually woke up feeling not too stiff and sore today though. Gotta love TOM and all its glory. Think I get to live the high life for about another week and a half until doom hits lol - Great visual you formed in my head btw!

Chantal: Good job on reaching a big milestone! Hoping to get there myself this weekend.

Dria: Don't even mention the boobs thing to me! Always saw my chest as one of my good assets and then it started to disappear - in a hurry! Hasn't gone down in the last two or three weeks according to their measuring tape.... however I think this is only because I need a new bra haha Just not willing to put out the $ for new bras that I won't be able to fit at the end of this anyways!

MicheleR 05-14-2009 12:22 PM

Hope Bride, Lady and UFF are doing okay.... where are you guys at? Hope things are going well and staying on track for you! :)

mememegogirl 05-14-2009 01:13 PM

Go to www.myshape.com armed with your measurements and you'll be able to figure out just to what extent you might lose your boobs. I have always had the 'hour-glass' shape no matter what my weight (I think that is the 'S' shape on the site) so eventhough my breasts are going down some... it will not be disproportionate with my body. I always will have hips and breasts ... just not the kind that breaks my back! :) I suspect you will find the same. It does feel like a rip-off to lose stuff you like about yourself though. WOuldn't it be nice if we could choose where the weight would come off?

Chantal0123 05-14-2009 01:28 PM

Yep, I'm the same! And yes, the breasts are going down too but you know what...I'm ok with that. I'd rather be wearing the bras that I used to wear which were "normal" and guys really liked my boobs (sorry!!)...

I find it so difficult to find a sexy bra in my size... it's the never ending treasure hunt!!! And once I find one, I buy 4 of them,... just in case!! lol

Forget the new bras, if it keeps going at this rate we can just wear tube socks!! (now picture that in your head)

Dria 05-14-2009 03:11 PM

lol ewwwwwwwwww tube socks lol

MicheleR 05-14-2009 04:17 PM

Thanks for that visual as well! Yikes... maybe I should be doing more chest exercises haha or at least put the tube socks in the bra to keep it filled lol

mememegogirl 05-14-2009 05:38 PM

You girls have me almost in tears...too funny!!!!! But this is part of the journey and it is nice to share these kinds of unexpected challenges with one another. :)

Dria 05-14-2009 10:59 PM

Well Ladies..... Tomorrow is weigh in...... I should make if not BY pass my 40lbs.
I should have beat it on Wednesday but it was snowing here so I wore jeans (which I havent in a good month of W.I's) And a big sweater.... and when I went Wednesday for weigh in I was up .2 which I was easily wearing 1.5 worth of clothing lol.
SO Im thinking Ill bypass the 40 tomorrow easy!!! 16 more lbs to lose once I hit that 40.. so close.......... so exciting I am now sitting here thinking... dont count your eggs til they hatch but ah. Heck with it.... Im excited for tomorrow. Cross them fingies and toes.

Dria 05-14-2009 11:01 PM

Hey Michele and Meme... can I ask where abouts in Mb you are?
Maybe if close enough of in same spot we could go walking LOL

MicheleR 05-15-2009 12:09 AM

Hey Dria! Good luck at your weigh in tomorrow (although I'm sure you don't need it!!) I'm about an hour west of Brandon. Yourself?

Meme: I totally agree. Sometimes it's nice to talk about those topics that may be "socially unacceptable" in a lot of cases (although in my close circle of friends we are pretty open, which is nice since none of us have to pretend to be something we're not - even on our bad days haha)

Hope everyone had a good day! Didn't end up going to the gym as a few of my friends were already hanging out at my house waiting for me. We did however manage to get a bit of Wii Fit in which we haven't done forever... like 17.2 pounds ago! (So obviously I put on more after I quit playing it for a bit). I was at 187.5 lbs on it and just about out of the obese range...yay! Just not sure how that scale measures up to the one at HM. Guess we'll see Saturday! I really hope this week is a good one... for all of us :)

Dria 05-15-2009 12:32 AM

Thanks!!!
Ahhhh your darn near in sask then lol
Im outside of Portage.... Not born and raised here so no judgement ;) hahaha

Good luck with any of you ladies going to W.I tomorrow. Cant wait til hear some scales dropping!!!!

I agree with the sentiments of having people to share this journey with... Some friends get tired of hearing it, It doesnt get old though does it, not while your living it anyways!!

chunksoflove 05-15-2009 01:41 AM

Hello ladies!
I got the link to this thread on the HM facebook group and thought I would check it out. Seems like LOTS of updates here... I like that.

I started HM on Wednesday for the 3rd time ...and this is going to be my LAST time! I'm glad there is a great forum on the net to keep me motivated - i didn't know about it the last 2 times!

I am down 2.5lbs and have 86 to go!

Where is everyone from?

mememegogirl 05-15-2009 09:41 AM

Welcome chunksoflove! Way to commit... 3rd time is a charm :)

Dria: I am east of Winnipeg. Good luck with your wi! You are so close! That must feel so great!

Michele: Gotta love the wii fit... I do really... except for the blowing up your mii part where they make you look like a short fat person :( I too am just about out of the 'obese' category. The first time that happened it was a real wake up call!

Regarding the journey... who better to talk about it with than people that are doing it?!?
My home scale has me showing some positive results. Hopefully at weigh-in tomorrow it will be good times! :) Have a successful day everyone!

Dria 05-15-2009 10:00 AM

W.I has come and gone..........
I now have my petty new purple Magnet!!!!
Lets see here
Monday W.I 136.4lbs
Wednesday W.I 136.4 (heavy heavy clothing worn it was darn cold)
Friday W.I 134.8lbs :) :) :)
I started my journey at 176.2 lbs. 14 weeks ago. 56 lbs to lose goal date Aug 17 2009
Which means as of today I am 41.4 lbs lighter....
56-41.4= 14.6 more lbs to lose.......

Monday the shop is closed so Ill go Tuesday for my next W.I and measuring... I think Ill have a 2.5 week by then
FABULOUS!!!!

On the Wii front. Id love to have one. But Im not a video system type person but its the only one thats really ever caught my eye. But.. I still havent bought one. Ive heard all the good things heard about that nasty person that grows and shrinks accordingly LOL
Hope to hear of some great weight losses this week from you all!!

Oh and with my 40% off I got some more of my stab pills (stocking up early and cheaper) And my fave bars :) YUMMY

MicheleR 05-15-2009 12:21 PM

Welcome Chunksoflove! Hopefully this is the right time in your life to let the program work for you!!

Dria: Great job at the weigh in! I'm sure there's nothing we can say that will top the pride you must feel in yourself for a job well done!! I'm hoping for a magnet on Sat. (although I'm not sure where my last one went). Is it a certain percentage off per pound or did you just get a good ticket??
I am almost a gapper.. but not quite, I'm about a half hour from the border! (no offense to anyone that may be a gapper :)). Moved a lot when I was young and then moved for university. Now back in the same community I was in from grade 7 until graduation.

How do the pills change for stabilization? What's the cost? Glad to hear you can use your discount for them!

I had the Wii for over a year before I got the Wii fit. I however do like video games so it wasn't a big deal to spend the $100 on Wii fit since I already had the system. Really hoping my Mii gets rid of the roll between her pants and shirt once I hit "overweight" haha that sounds horrible. Not sure how I like the BMI on the Wii since it's only a height/weight comparison... the majority of my friends who have played it are at least overweight if not obese (and I would by no means consider them obese or overweight just by looking at them)

Wow, way to ramble Michele... sorry!

mememegogirl 05-15-2009 01:44 PM

I think the BMI on the Wii is based on Japanese people... as it is made in Japan non? That is just my 2 cents that makes me feel better. And I hate Video games... but I love the Wii fit... go figure... oh yes... and I love ABBA singstar... but that is it for gaming!

Dria: ... you do know that we are going to be picking your brain more and more as your creep closer to stabilization... Just an fyi for you... :)

chunksoflove 05-15-2009 02:56 PM

Thanks everyone.

I love the wii fit! I have been using it a lot more lately.
Today I was down 1lb. And they made a mini goal for me to be down 2lbs on Tuesday's weigh in. I love the first 2 weeks, it really gets me motivated!

MicheleR 05-15-2009 03:14 PM

Meme: Think it was first released in Japan but heard that they had to make a few changes before its release to Canada and the States. I heard that rather than saying you were obese or overweight the release of the game in Japan would just say "You're fat" Good thing mine didn't do that or I would be out looking for a new tv haha

Dria: Anytime you're feeling a little too harassed just let me know!! Sometimes I get a little ADD and can't concentrate on what I'm doing but rather were I want to be!

Chunks/Love: Great job! I had the opposite experience than you. I was only down one pound the first week and told myself that I would only give the program one month to start showing results.... glad I stuck with it now! I'm sure it must feel great to already be down almost 4 lbs since you have barely begun!

Just remembered that I am supposed to take my mom out for AYCEat Crab tonight... oh oh. Totally didn't budget that into my day (although I did stop eating my rice cake so that I have an extra 1/2 starch to work with!!) Not too worried about the meat as the ladies at the clinic said I could add an extra protein due to my level of exercise... it's just all the other stuff I'm worried about. Only have 1 veg, 2 fats, 1/2 starch, 1/2 dairy, 1 fruit, 1 protein left! This is more than enough for a normal day... but a smorg?? Maybe mom won't be feeling up to it and I can schedule my food better next Friday..

Hope everyone has a great long weekend! I'm about to leave on my half hour drive home, hit the gym, mow the lawn??, and then head into the city! Talk to you all later!

HappyGirl 05-15-2009 04:27 PM

Wi this morning and down a total of 2.0 lbs since Monday. Woohoo for me! pI think planning if the key. And during the week it's easy....work then home. The weekends are somewhat different. My kids are 6 & 8 years old and had lunch at the mall food court today (no school and I took the day off work)....hard to make good choices but ended up with Edo Japan. Terryaki chicken and rice. I am guessing that the sodium content in the terr. sauce will be high so I'll drink my water with lemon to help flush out the sodium. Next wi on Monday (my center is open). Hoping to get on the treadmill or on my Wii Fit. Love it! I also have the Jillian Michaels workout so I might just dust that off and use it too!

Hope everyone has a good weekend with not too many cheats! Planning on making the Shipwreck Casserole out of the HM cookbook for supper tonight.

mememegogirl 05-15-2009 06:53 PM

Way to go HappyGirl and Chunks of love! That is a great start! Good luck with the Jillian Michaels workout there HappyGirl.. ouch! :)
