Mornin'!

A quickie from me..I'll bbl for indies..can't keep up with you, lol!

I went to the NP on Monday and I am going to start acupuncture next week for my left side. I've never done it before, but I'm hopeful about it. I can't seem to get pain free no matter what. Pilates and water exercise are the best so far, but if I miss, it comes right back. So I'll keep my fingers crossed and google acupuncture.

Weight so far this week is maintaining..I started an account at daily plate, which I kind of like. The food selection is really good and it is easy to use. The NP wants me to track everything for one month so we can get a handle on why I'm not sleeping. Yeesh. aches and pains, insomnia..getting old is a drag...but it beats the alternative, right?

Sassy and Mindee - if you can get off pop, you will be so glad you did. Once it's really out of your system, it's hard to re-develop a taste for it. I quit it over 20 years ago and it's easy to stay away from; tastes really yucky as a matter of fact. But I use to go through Pepsi like water when I was in my teens and twenties. Now, coffee is another story..I am having a devil of a time kicking that habit. I'm hoping that having to record it all on the daily plate will keep me accountable and I'll stop sneaking a cup in there and there.

In case anyone is interested, it's dailyplatedotcom.

Have a great day!

Good morning, chickies!

Okay, so the plan was... plan, right! Charlotte told me when I asked if Cambrie had a certain bedtime during the week that since she has to go to preschool and won't get a nap she could stay up later than the usual 8-8:30. HA! Stay up late, she will sleep late. Guess who woke me up promptly at 7 a.m., lol? I warned Josh when he picks her up she will most likely need a nap even if it is 3 p.m. or a very early bedtime tonight.

I was going to get up and sneak a workout in before she awoke...didn't happen. Went to plan B...will do what I need to do once I take her to preschool. she's watching Dora down here in the office while I am on the computer. She was playing my keyboard and got bored with it, lol. It amazes me that she is actually learning something from cartoons!

SASSY...yeppers, supposed to get snow in western/northern KS. But I have to tell ya...I put capri's on and went and to take the dog out and brrrrr! :brr: I think that is one of my problems...soda, diet that is. Even if it is diet I think it still hampers my weight loss, or lack of. Hey, how are you going to do the gift exchange? Enjoy your weekend!

SUSAN...lots of luck with orientation today! Ah, I am slacking in my card sending for sure. There was a time I was on top of it more than I am now. You may get a BD card but I will send it, lol. Better late than never right?

KATY...sorry about the pain. I know what a pain it can be. Hope the acupunture works for ya. I know a lady friend recommended it to me...can't remember what she was going for but said it really works for her. You'll have to let us know. WTG on maintaining! I am going to check out your dailyplate site and see what it is all about, thanks for sharing the link.

FRANCIE...glad you are feeling better and was actually hungry! That is always a good sign. Maybe it was the subway sandwich. Aaawww, sorry about the runny nose now.

MINDEE...Marissa is too cute! At least she loves going with her momma. I was trying to work up to jogging and will do a little sprint once in a while...and I do mean little. It doesn't tire me out, just everything flops up and down and I hate that feeling, lol.

JULES...I'm with you and Susan...I too need to work on the water as well. Going to AR for those 8 days really messed me up. I can't drink water on trips because I would be stopping waaaay too much. Gald you are all relaxed now.

HIYA ASIA, TAMMY & SUE

Okay...guess I am going to get off this thing and go get something done. Need to make the beds, fold some clothes, get a load of laundry started and get Cambrie some lunch and dressed. Need to be leaving about 11:40...not sure how long it will take to get her to preschool...it's over near where they live so thinking at least 30/35 minutes. Will get my exercise in when I get back. Guess I will hit the treadmill since it is cold out and windy as heck!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

wildthing 10-22-2008 11:27 AM

Did I read something about a gift exchange? I am so excited!!!! Please do fill me in!!

tommysgirl18 10-22-2008 02:07 PM

popping in for a quick second right now......

Logan is refusing to take a nap, but then again that isn't anything new around here. Marissa is quiet, so I am taking that as her napping.

I have a crock pot meal in the crock pot for dinner. Tonight we are having beef roast and veggies.

I am starting today out as a new day! I am drinking iced tea right now. when it gets colder, I am sure that I will be knocking back the hot chocolate!

gotta run, Logan is getting rambunctious!

FrouFrou 10-22-2008 02:45 PM

Back again to say hi...HI! :D

MINDEE...today is definitely a hot chocolate day! The temp started out at 54 this morning and is supposed to be a high of 48 I think it was, with the wind a few degrees cooler. Should have made that chili today! Roast beef and veggies sound good to me...what time is dinner, lol.

ASIA...if I remember correctly Sassy was wanting to do a gift exchange...just a little something for $5 or so...not sure if we/she decided on a price or what, or who or when...

Okay...poor little Cambrie fell asleep on the way to preschool. I listened to her mother who said...let her stay up late and she will sleep in, ha! She is used to taking a nap and she feels better after having one. I called Josh to let him know in case she's a little turd when he picks her up. He had started a new job and had only been there 3 or 4 weeks and already they laid off people...and of course he was one of them being the new guy and all. So he's out looking again.

Just had lunch and now I feel too full to exercise, lol. I will do a dvd at about 2:30 and then another at 5 something, after I watch the weather. Then will walk on the treadmill some. It won't be what I normally do but something is better than nothing. And I HAVE to work on that water! Haven't had a drop all day!

Doing a load of laundry at the moment and that's about all I have.

Take care

P.S....went and added a new ticker, rather, two new tickers. When I made the first one I was at 181.4 when I returned from AR and am up to 183.8 as of this morning so am just going to go with that weight on the challenges. And I rounded it up to 184 instead of 183...closer to that anyway. Thought I would start it today since I weighed. And I am doing a Spring break challenge as well. I plan...there's that word (plan) again, lol...I am going to try and make two trips to AR next year...one being in March and another in August maybe...depending on when SuzyQ goes because we HAVE to meet! I want to be 20 pounds down by the next time I go, or even more-wishful thinking. I am one of the slowest losers in the world! But I know I can maintain so that is the bonus of losing slow I guess. Anywho...I'm outta here!

FrouFrou 10-22-2008 06:48 PM

Where is everyone today? I am so lonely here :(

V is working and Cambrie is gone so it's just me and Ernie dog and I am bored. Plus I had to get on the computer to find a recipe for banana bread. I've got some banana's sitting here turning brown and I don't want to throw them away...they turn too fast for some reason and I waste too much money so...next best thing...use them in something!

KATY...I checked out the daily plate site and it looks interesting. I even signed up...now to spend some time there figuring things out...looks like a cool site with lots of good info!

Okay...going to go feed the dog, myself in about a hour and read some I guess.

Oh, I did get my exercise in :yay: Feeling better and not so much of a slacker now, lol.

Take care

RosieKate 10-22-2008 07:14 PM

Cristina- you have the right idea..I need to go get some tickers set up for this challenge. I'm kind of getting into the daily plate. I'm used to Sparkpeople, but this is pretty easy to use once it's all set up. I like how it tracks how many calories you burn with exercise. I do think the amount it says I should eat eery day is high, but whatever. It says I should eat 1900 - yikes. I would never lose if I ate that much every day.

I had an eye doctor visit this morning..$300 for new glasses - waah! And that's after insurance! So...I was a little depressed. We've had to tighten our belts as we seem to have been hit with lots of repairs in a row. Now this..If use my current frames, I will be without glasses for two weeks and I really need bifocals or I can't read. I think I may just get 'em and worry later.

Mindee - your crock pot meal sounds delicious. I made some homemade pizzas and then cooked up some pasta for our soccer coaches' family. Their daughter had to have emergency knee surgery this week and do not have time to cook. When I mixed up the pesto it smelled so good!

Asia
- Hi! Glad you had a good time with the scouts. I don't know about gifts, maybe people are exchanging cards? I'm sending an e-card. If you would like me to send you one, pm me your email addy. I do this every year at the holidays...can't get it together for anything else :dizzy:

I was googling acupuncture and it looks promising. There's an ear clamp thingy you can get to help you lose weight. Even though I am going for back pain. I may ask her about that while I'm there.

Have a great evening, everyone!

Shopaholic1204 10-22-2008 07:55 PM

Just popping in to say hi

Mom2Gaby 10-22-2008 09:27 PM

I just HAD to say hello  I was going through withdrawals and my eyes were starting to roll back in my head and I was even foaming at the mouth,,,,,kind of like I had rabies or something icky like that.

Sassy- You think we can close threads?? I never knew that, you are way smart!! So, why am I asking MODs to close them and they never say anything to me?? It is like I want the power too.....*eyes roll* lol

Katy- Ick on $300 dollar glasses!! I need to get some too, I miss my contacts but I can't afford those anymore. The R's got some cute ones on their insurance. I agree about the soda drinking, and about the coffee....I haven't gotten to the point of giving that up.........and I really don't want to....lol

Mindee- yum to the crock pot dinner! Gaby and I had beef hot dogs and mac and cheese....I only had a bite of the hot dog and savored the grease. I did,,,,it has been that long since I had a hot dog.

Cristina - I had a good day at training , learned a lot. I came to the library to get Born on a blue day ...about Autism, plus some other suggested reading. Anyway, tomorrow is how to do payroll so I will be in there early for a good seat!! lol -jk. March or August for a trip to Arkansas?? Let me see what I can do, would love to meet you!

Jules - I think water is the key, has to be because I hit 145 today and I have been drinking water like crazy for only 4 days now. Luv the water! :)

 to Asia, Francie , Sue, and Tammy!!

anyway, sorry just a quickie. I need to get Gaby home and in bed. Feeling better, last night I felt so sore and sinus....eee............however you spell that. lol

k- adios!!

wildthing 10-22-2008 10:18 PM

ok so yall know I did that detox right? Well I got on the scale and I am at 165. That is 7 pounds! All after I detoxed. It hasnt been that long but I didnt think it would work like that. I was just mainly doing it to feel better. Well I did. But I didnt think getting rid of toxins would actually make the fat melt. I am currently sick. I am pretty sure I am fixen to go pass out. I am beyond exhausted and my throat is lit on fire. I also have to work a 12 and a half hour day tomarrow all together. But I do get to sleep in Friday a little!!! Yay! well moving on...

Cristina- Thanks for compleminting my sigs. I think weightloss is always mind over matter. So I have alot of sayings for the crappy days.

Francie- I hope you are feeling better soon!!!

Mindee- Please steal my phrase I said it for all to use.....and I also stole it from someone else....baha Wtg on your running. I want so bad to run again. I might try soon. Now that it is cooling down it is probably quite nice.

Sassy- I would love to go shopping with Andrews dad. He is a hoot. It sounds like yall have fun. I am sure he understood. If you are still worried then just call him and say hey I am really sorry about the other day Iwas just so upset. And then he will say I know and thats ok. No biggie!! You have diabetes? How does that effect your weightloss and dieting? My Grandmother has it and that is what I am trying to prevent byt getting healthy.

Susan- Sounds like everybody everywhere is getting something!! This is gonna be a really rough winter.

tommysgirl18 10-22-2008 11:45 PM

dinner was good.......the boys wanted ice beam for dessert, so we had a little bit. then we sat down and watched Dora.

well, I guess the kids watching Dora is paying off. Brandon can count up to twenty, he is just starting to count in Spanish. I will let you know how that one goes!

Logan all I hear from him all day long is "mama, boots. mama, boots" And Marissa told us de nada when Tommy got her jacket on her for me to take her for a walk.

Brandon woke up crying at 4:20 this morning. Tommy went into the bedroom to get him, and he doesn't know how or why it happened, but Brandon's bed was right next to Logans bed. Brandon's head of his bed was at the foot of Logan's bed. And Brandon was bawling his eyes out and Logan was awake.

I asked him when we were putting one of his puzzles together, if he had had a bad dream and he told me yeah. I asked him if it was a scarey dream or a happy one (just to see if he varied in his response) and he didn't answer me.

when we got him off his bus today, the bus driver told Brandon to show daddy what James taught him. So, he turns around to get off the bus but never showed us. So, his bus driver told us that James taught Brandon how to flick himself in the nose today while on the bus! So, I guess it could be worse!

Cristina~ I hope that Josh is able to find something! We had a somewhat early dinner. Tommy is looking for another job, to have as either a second job or to switch over to it as a full time job. I just hope/wish something good comes soon, since Christmas is coming.

Francie~ How are you doing?

SuzieQ~ me and the kids had hot dogs and rice a roni per Brandon and Logan's request for dinner on Tuesday night. not my best choice, but they ate it so that counts.

Asia~ I ran twice on my walk tonight. I thought that my lungs were going to burst after the second time. but I am good now. I need to start carrying my inhaler with me if I am going to do it more often. DOH!

Sassy_Chick 10-23-2008 01:52 AM

Hello.

Howdy All.

Katie -- WTG on the new plan!!! :carrot: I think DH and I need something because he was telling me that his boss came up to him and said he is doing an excellent job, but they are worried if he is going to be able to keep up, because the hospital is HUGE and they average at the minimum 5 miles a day. DH responded saying, "because of my weight?" and his boss said yeah, but so far DH has been keeping up fine, but I think it'd be good for both of us to get on a plan and stick to it and now he has motivation because he loves his job. ;)

Cristina -- I didn't realize I was in charge of the gift exchange? lol. I just thought I came up with the idea! But I guess if people who wanna participate can just lemme know. I know lots of you are participating in the card exchange and I have that information, all I need to know is if you want to be in the gift exchange and if you do and you haven't already, please send me a pm with your email and snail mail address. ;) I guess I can put all the names in something and pick out names. Then email all of you who are participating with the name of the person to shop for, does that sound ok??? Sorry to hear about Josh's job. It is definitely tough out there. That is why I am very thankful that DH did get this job and I am thankful that I have a job too (so far at least). I hope Josh finds something soon. :)

Suzy Q -- I know we can close threads, as long as you are the one who started them. ;) I found this out by just seeing the option one day on one of the threads I had started and tried it and it worked! So whoever opens the thread can close it too. Glad I can be of some sort of information!

Asia -- WTG on the 7 pounds! :carrot: Sorry to hear your sick. I just got done being sick and now my boss is. Its that time of year for sure. My fil is a lot of fun to shop with. My mil can be, it just depends she isn't as easy going as my fil. She usually has a "plan" when she goes in a store and I am more of a "free spirit" like my fil. lol. I will have to give him a call and ask when he would like to go out. I am sure he understands. Then after I go out with him I will have to go out with my mil otherwise she will get her "feathers ruffled" lol. They are like two little kids. lol. Cuz one day my husband and his dad went out for a "Father and Son" day out and when they got back she told DH that she wanted a day with him and her too. lol. But it is nice to be wanted at least.

Mindee -- that is great that the kids are learning from cartoons! :) WTG! :cheer2:

Well I am FREE!!! At least until Sunday Night! :carrot: I have been so tired!!! I dunno why!!! Well it has been very cold the last few days! Only has gotten up to about 50 degrees and the lows at night in the 30's! :brr: But its nice to break out the sweatshirts and all. :)

I guess DH is having trouble walking, he had blisters on his feet. Its mostly because of his shoes he has. So on payday we have to get him a good pair. As I mentioned he does A LOT of walking at his new job and they average on the very minimum 5 miles a day. It is a big change for DH coming from working at a callcenter where he sat most of the time, but he will be fine. If he made it through the fire academy (he used to be a firefighter for the city, then he got hurt) I think he can manage this just fine. Plus he loves his job and they have told him he is doing very well. Infact they want to keep him on days and that is a good sign because they are of course much busier during the day than at night. He told them if they would give him the extra money he will be making by working 3rd, he would stay on days. But he hates getting up early......lol.

Again, if you are interested in the gift exchange just post in here saying so. I have most of your addresses now but if I don't and you wanna participate in this, then just PM me your email and snail mail addies. ;) I would like to have everybody who is participating by Nov. 1st so I can give you all the names you will be shopping for and to allow shipping time. I suppose you will need to send out your gifts no later than December 5th, depending on where it is going, but the holidays, remember are a very busy time, so if your person is a long ways away, you may want to send it a week sooner than that to ensure it gets there in time. Also I think post offices will provide dates once the holidays start coming close on what day to have your packages send out in order for them to arrive for Christmas, so you can check with them as well. Once I get a few people I will then post a list here of the people I have participating to be sure I have everyone interested. Does that sound ok??? If you have any questions, please ask away or you can PM me. :) I am kinda winging this so if anybody has a better idea, I am up for it! ;) Well I suppose that is about all.

:grouphug:

Shopaholic1204 10-23-2008 03:31 AM

I thought this was pretty interesting.

http://health.msn.com/weight-loss/sl...6&imageindex=1

I'm also going to cut back starting in November.

OKay..a question about the gift exchange. Are we doing this for everyone or do we get one person to buy a gift for?? You know, I still dont know where the post office is, LOL!!!

About the gift exchange. I will be choosing names and I will email you with the name of the person who will have to buy for. Only one. Gift amount not to exceed $5. Needs to be shipped by December 5th at the latest and if your person you are buying for is further away, you may want to consider sending it out earlier due to the holiday season being busier.

I think that is about it. If anymore questions, just lemme know! ;)

Shopaholic1204 10-23-2008 05:34 AM

OKay..count me in for the gift exchange then!! When will it start?
