Happy New Year!! :)

I need to make a note to turn my mobile phone off next new years eve! I was sound asleep at midnight last night and all of a sudden I was bombarded my SMS messages of "Happy New Year!"

I weighed myself this morning...for two reasons. First being that is was New Year and the second being that I am packing my scales away today!

I weighed in at 93.9kg. Not bad from 96.6kg about four or five days ago? I know most of that is fluid and the fact that I had a huge pig out the night before my 96.6kg result, but to me it shows I have made an effort...I hope?

I have not made any firm new years resolutions yet mainly because I want my move to be my new start for this year. So I'll probably list resolutions when I get to Darwin.

I have lots to do today...I need to finish packing!! So must move!

Here's to 2009 being a safe, happy and healthy new year to us all :)

wow wow wow
here we go (again and again for me)
but this time it IS different

reading lindor and ani's post it has put so much in perspective for me

i have just MEGA cleaned the dining room (which is really tiny and really just half the kitchen) and the lounge room, next up is the kitchen and or the bedroom
benji and jemima have gone to the beach
i am dripping in sweat and drunk all the cold water in the house - another reason kitchen is next so i fill up the water bottles

i worked yesterday and am working tomorrow night, but it doesnt feel like work which means it (at least for now) is the perfect job for me, i enjoy talking to the customers and i also (stupid i know) enjoy the challenge of fitting all the shopping in the bags, it is like a real live game of tetris (i am the tetris queen) but with the added challenge of eggs and bread and cold things oh and paranoid people, it is also probably helping me with money skills and counting (i dropped maths in grade 10) and also helping me budget by watching what other people spend and what they buy

anyhow weight loss
i weigh more than ever
i took a photo of me and a friend last night and i am the fattest i have ever ever ever been, i didnt recognise myself even though there are heaps of photos of me around i have put on so much weight in the last week it is NOT FUNNY so

for my health, looks and minds sake here goes lifestyle change.....
here comes kel's journey
i hate knowing that by jemima's birthday i will still be fat
i hate knowing that by my birthday in april i will still be fat
coz i know that if i lose 5kg by then i am still fat but i will keep it off
and i know that if i lose 10kg by then i will be better but i may not keep it off

my number one goal until i master it (not for this week or not for the month) is water
i must limit my softdrink intake, i must drink 2L of water every day

this is year of no breastfeeding
this is year of 15minute tidy ups
this is year of kel being more organised
this is year of family time
this is year of making every day count

Wow Kel Ani and Lindor. You have all got the D & M happening in yr posts the past few days.

Went to bed early last night and like Lindor got the blasted HNY sms from people. I had a new years DAY party lol. Had kids and a few friends come to matts for a roast lunch and a swim in the pool. I am a non drinker, so you can imagine the state I was in by 1pm today after only 2 pure blondes lol. I hadnt eaten when i cracked the first at 12 and by the time i had half i was tipsy. Man. Then at 3.30 i lay on Matts bed and had a snooze. woke at 6.10pm to the rest of em gone home haha.

We we talkin about songs and kids favs. my 2 yr old knows Satisfaction word for word. We were having fun and I (in my drunken state) got up and did a mick jagger impersonation IN MY TOGS. OMG I am NEVER drinking again. My daughter is photo/vid queen and she got it all on camera. I will kill her if she puts it on u tube or something. probably entitled jelly roll for satisfaction lol.

Anyhow, I do have a slight headache so getting off.

Hope everyone has a wonderful safe and happy new year.

Now I am in trouble!!!

I live on microwave dinners...I have a dozen in my freezer at this point in time!

The people who bought my microwave oven a couple of weeks ago, but were happy to leave it with me until they got into their house, came and picked it up today!!!!

I HAVE NO MICROWAVE OVEN FOR ANOTHER 9 DAYS!!!!

WHAT AM I GOING TO LIVE ON?????

Funny!! Apparently the fact that they also took my TV doesn't seem to bother me!!

PerthChick 01-01-2009 06:13 PM

Lindor can't you heat those dinners up in an oven? Or try and eat heaps of salad things? Don't panic mate, even if the next nine days are a challenge, you're not far from your new life, and a big opportunity to make this a very successful year.

Julia are you around? Barb? Amy? Kylie?

I'm not having the greatest of weeks. Not the worst, by any means, but I find it really hard to have a routine when I have five different shifts in five days. Yesterday I worked 6am-2pm and today it's 1-9pm. Tomorrow is 11-7pm… try getting into a proper eating/sleeping routine when you work those hours. Pfft!

I'm having six days off next week - just to rest my body, catch up on housework and gardening, and to relax a little. Can't wait!

Lindor 01-02-2009 12:19 AM

Ani, I have this thing in my kitchen here...it has a window and some knobs on it. I think I heard someone call that an 'oven' once??

I have lived in this flat for over two years now...NEVER have I used the oven!! And not sure I'd know how to anyway

I've just been shopping and bought a heap of salad stuff and some cold meats and some Mountain Bread Wraps. Figure that might tie my over for the next few days.

7senuf 01-02-2009 05:46 AM

I just saw this great recipe on Btter homes and gardens Lindor..... Lebanese bread (mountain bread has it i think) roll it up tight the cut into thin slices. Stirfy it in hot oil till golden and crisp. Mix up some sliced tomato, cucumber and a red onion (sliced) toss through oil and tabasco. she added some fresh basil torn in and some other herby thing. then she added a drained can of tuna. looked really yum. she also used some wine vinegar or sherry vinegar or something, i am sure u could improvise. and i'd use less oil then she did. i said recently that she is putting on weight and when i saw the amount of oil she used.....................................

hewey also had a good one on his adventure cooking show today. scallop salad. pretty sure you can get the recipes online.

wow 9 days. are you excited? scared?

I got my hair chopped off today. And I love it. my daughter says it makes me look thinner :D its so much lighter and cooler. big change from having my really long hair. i've gone from bum crack length to short in 2 years sneaking up on it. Matt hates it. says he fell in love with me with long hair. but i told him it doesn t change who i am. actually, i walked out of the hairdresser with my head held high and a bounce in my step.. Just what i needed.

New Year
New Me.

smylie 01-02-2009 07:35 AM

detox before journey
yes or no?

my body has a heap of crap in it....

pacman12 01-02-2009 12:04 PM

Vonni we need a pic!

PerthChick 01-02-2009 05:59 PM

No Kel - no need to detox. The whole process of putting clean food in, and drinking lots of water will detox your body naturally.

My landlord is coming to do a house inspection next week - and I bet she'll put the rent up. Not looking forward to that, but there's not much I can do about it.

Lindor you crack me up. Imagine the world of possibilities when you have an oven you can actually use :D

Yeah Vonnie - where's the photo?

Lindor 01-03-2009 03:45 AM

Ani, I am not sure it's a case of 'can't' use this (or any) stove so much as a case of 'won't'! :p

But, as part of my new life in Darwin, I want to make the effort and I am excited about experimenting with a stove!

My Airconditioner has just died AGAIN!!!!

Makes for very comfortable packing and cleaning! NOT!!!

The truck came and took all my stuff today...I am feeling very empty right now.

I still have a lot of crap to sort through, sell, give away or trash, but not having 10 - 15 boxes (which in reality was 30!!) laying about does make the job seem a lot less daunting!

I've decided, considering I have no airconditioning here and we are hovering near 40C days just now, that I will go into work tomorrow and take Monday or Tuesday off (after they fix the airconditioner...or tell me they can't!). There is just no sane way I can clean in this heat!!!

Vonni...I am excited about the move, I am well over due for a 'change for me'. I am nervous about starting a new job...but that is normal I think. I am overwhelmed about being a home owner again...with a massive homeloan! But, I am ready to face this head on and take things as they come! I have been stuck in this rut in this town for 16yrs, moving from one deadend job to the next with little appreciation. I'm not necessarily going to get much more appreciation at this next job, but I am satisfied it is a step up in my career and I APPRECIATE THAT!

Anyway, must move! Unfortunately the last two days have been spent clearing the fridge of Xmas chocolate, so calorie-wise I have not been doing too well.

And Vonni...I am with the rest...we need a picture! :)

Kel, a healthier lifestyle is the best detox you can give your body!

PerthChick 01-03-2009 05:46 PM

Lindor I'm getting excited for you - that will be some adventure :).

One more day to go at work and then I have a week's holiday - yay! Hopefully it will be really busy today and the time will go quickly. I am going to have to do some exercise next week - shock horror! - because I rely on work for my exercise, and that won't happen next week.

I'm sure that with a house inspection coming up I'll burn a few calories cleaning and gardening :D.

I'm going OK with my weight loss goals this week, and I'll be really disappointed if I don't record a loss tomorrow. I've been trying for consistency, and hoping that will pay off on the scales.

OK must go get ready for work. Have a good day everyone :).

7senuf 01-03-2009 07:49 PM

went to take a pic and post it but batteries died. lol. will take one asap :p

LittleKiwi 01-04-2009 02:31 PM

:newyear:

How is everyone? I've had a great 2 weeks off work and spent 5 days in Melbourne. Went to Sensation on New Years Eve - massive dance party which was sold out, 40,000 people all dressed in white (that was the dress code) and it was awesome!

Diet and exercise went out the window completely during the holiday period and my clothes are feeling a little tighter so I'm excited to be getting back on track now.

I sat down last night and wrote out a list of goals for 2009. Number one on my list is to get debt free. That'll take me the whole year but I'm determined to do it once and for all. I've also set the goal to lose 1kg each month. That makes 250g a week what I need to aim for and that's definitely achievable.

So how are you all? All good I hope! I'll go back and read all of the posts I've missed over the past couple of weeks when I get a chance.

:twirly:
