Cough, Snuffle, Sneeze . . .

AWw. Meowee!! Feel better. OOh! here's an idea.
I don't take neo-citran because I love it too much. But I do have a good recipe for homemade neo-citran you might like:
Shred some fresh ginger into a small pot of boiling water,
Take it off the heat and let it steep for about five minutes,
Strain it and pour it in a cup,
Add the juice of one fresh lemon and honey to taste.

It is remarkably alike the neocitran from the store but not all chemically. If you like, have a couple of aspirins too. The ginger is kind of hot and spicy and the lemon balances it perfectly.
It seemed like a bit undertaking to go and actually get the ginger for me but man is this good. I took to making it when I wasn't even sick last winter.

Or get some ginger tea.

greeneggsandtam 09-28-2008 02:14 PM

Or there's always that. Haha. Silly me. I do tend to go on. Sorry.
How is everybody? Just got back from northern SK. from an art retreat. What a great time. The food was amazing and I ate way too much, but I should be able to get back on track this week.
Hope you all had a great weekend!
Tam

Hello all. I am in Alberta. I am actually from Nova scotia but I have been working out here for the past few years. We are hoping in a few years to retire and head back to NS.

I am seeing on the TV that the latest hurricane is really hitting the maritimes, I hope everyone is fine and not too wet.

Pat

Ruthxxx 09-29-2008 08:51 AM

Good morning. I hope all our Maritimers are OK. Looks like Ike has passed on to the Gulf.

We have wet and gloomy weather predicted for the week. Time to cozy in and start thinking about winter. I'm dreading the price of heating oil this winter and will be using my wood stove a lot to heat the back part of the house.

Today I'm going to put some fall decorations outside to brighten things up a bit. The trees are just starting to turn and should be at peak by Thanksgiving Weekend.

Happy Monday!

Ike was a pretty well-behaved little boy in this north-eastern area of Nova Scotia. Hope everybody else fared equally as well.

Still nursing my cold but I really think it's feeling a little better. Unfortunately I've been nursing it with far too many comfort foods -- guess I'm trying to find something I can actually taste. :s:

Greetings All:

Sorry for the prolonged absence. Just a combination of not wanting to be an "air hog" and not feeling well, not meeting goals weight loss and other wise.
Last night I ate a reasonable supper albeit it was later than usual in a crowded house and remarkably I did not sleep well - up 4 times in night - so slept late this morning and even now I am yawning. It did not help matters that a 4 year old followed me around the house calling me fat for a brief spell, the parents were nowhere to correct the child not that they would have. Here I am old enough to be this child's mother and I allow my self to be affected by her cat calls. Ugh.

Hope everyone else's week is going better than mine and that Tropical Storm Kyle has not affected those in the martimes too much, looks like mots of wind, downed trees, loss of power. boats joustled about in the bay so far.
Hopefully the damages will be less than Juan.

Take Good Care All - :-)

Hi All!
Is there room for a West Coaster in here?
I am in Vancouver and I would love to join you.
The sun is shining today and I feel good, I never understood why everybody was so happy to see the sun when I first moved to Canada, but now I totally get it :)

meowee 09-29-2008 09:05 PM

:welcome: . . . glad to have you with us . . . where did you move 'from'????

Thanks!
I am originally from Mexico, so I was used to taking the sun for granted. Now in Vancouver, we count the days when it doesn't rain :sunny:

Good Morning . . . :grouphug:

Sun is starting to break through around here. :yay: Colours are breaking through in full force too . . . I  Autumn.

BTW . . . you really did pick the rainiest place in Canada, NEWSHINYME. BC is famous for it's almost ever-lasting rainy season. Have to admit it's been pretty wet over on this side of the country too this summer; but that is a bit abnormal. If you long for hot and dry (well, in the summer, at least), try the Prairies -- Saskatchewan springs immediately to mind.

Hope everybody gets some great weather today . . .

New to this group

Hello all! I am new to this group but have been on 3FC for years. I am hoping to share with your ladies about my continued and repeat failed attempts at weight loss. I am from the southwestern ontario region, near Detroit. I have been on a diet forever but I am trying to make a life change instead and some days its working and others not so much.
So, looking forward to catching up soon.

Mornin' All:

Just coming in to say hi before I get on with my daily activities and try to enjoy the last bit of sunshine before the rain comes and stays forever.

Tell me about it. I was used to waiting until the rain passed to go outside, until I realised that if I did that, I'd be stuck at home for 2 weeks straight . I've been here for a few years now, and I've accepted rain as a fact of life. Nothing against the Prairies, but I think the winters would be too cold for poor tropical me.

Hi scrappinRN!

Have a great day everyone!

meowee 10-01-2008 05:16 PM

Hi gang . . .

We've been having a pretty cool and overcast day here on the Atlantic coast -- but it is not raining -- not yet anyway.

:welcome: to the group SCRAPPIN . . . glad you found us, Chickie.

See you later . . .
