Kel I'm really happy for you that those scales dropped

.
Get this: yesterday I hurt myself at work - I was unloading pallets and I felt a really strong pain below my ribs. It was so strong I dropped the pallet, and was doubled over - and I went into shock from the pain. So one of the managers took me to the doctor…
Dr said I needed 5-7 days of complete rest because I have strained/torn a muscle in my ribs - and resting was the only way to fix it. The manager gave him an official worker's comp form and said: "Let's not dwell on what she can't do. I need you to fill out this form and indicate which of these light duties she CAN do".
So the frustrated doctor ticked the boxes for heavily restricted duties, which is all Bunnings needed to keep me at work. But how ridiculous. I'm not allowed to lift anything over a kilo, no bending, no twisting, no standing for more than 20 minutes, should be sedentary. Must have heat pack every hour, and Panadeine Forte every six hours.
In all of this Bunnings found a way to keep me at work on light duties.
I have had about two hours sleep, because every time I rolled on my side the pain woke me up. There is no way I am going to work today - I'm going to ring in sick in a minute, and it's just too bad if they don't like it. All my workmates are furious with management, and conducted a 'go-slow' yesterday on my behalf… and the union rep at work told me that "Bunnings always does this because management lose their monthly bonus if any of us are injured at work".
Pfft!
I have to confess I comfort-ate chips and chocolate last night. Oh well…
